We had reservations for dinner here for 6:30, but arrived around 5:30 and sat at the bar. Jimmy our bartender was beyond kind and efficient and made the best drinks. We really enjoyed our time at the bar - when seated we ordered our dinner and the food was also beyond delicious Try the chicken limone!!! This place is classy and close to home. It felt very elevated. Service was great all around (Liz). We will make this a regular date spot and bring friends.

Still excellent! Been awhile since I dined at Posto - came for a nice evening dinner during restaurant week. Well worth the $45 restaurant week deal! Portions are large and their menu rotates. Such a great gem in the Brookfield area.

Always great! Nice waiters each time I've been. Giant portions. Focaccia and rigatoni are a must!

    Dessert!

Came back for day two- work trip. Even better! Chicago restaurant week- app, main and dessert for $45! Great app, rigatoni for main and tiramisu for desert- they were all epic. - a few months back I went to Italy for work, this was better than any single meal I had there. I will certainly be back, service was excellent- attentive without being overbearing.

This is my second visit to Posto 31. This little Italian restaurant has delicious food and a great bourbon selection. On this visit the restaurant was very noisy and so cold. It was hard to carry on a conversation across our table, and I was cold even after putting on my jacket. Our server was Jamie and he provided okay service, I wouldn't say attentive or engaging. He didn't introduce himself, which as a former server irritates me. That should be the first thing a server does when greeting the customer. Certainly not as attentive. We ordered the whipped ricotta & honey appetizer, the meatballs & polenta appetizer and the grilled Caesar salad to share among the three of us. They were all delicious and generous to split among three people. I was, however, disappointed when I asked for different bread that had no sesame seeds on it for the one appetizer we ordered as I can't have nuts or seeds due to diverticulosis, and I was told that was it. This Italian restaurant had no other bread. Really? No ciabatta, no Tuscan bread - just sesame seed bread? Posto 31 should think about adding another bread for those people who have either allergies or medical reasons why they can't eat sesame seeds. For entrées, my husband and I split the lasagna and my son had the short rib gnocchi. Both entrées were so good. The lasagna was served in a baking dish and was generous in size. I tasted my son's short rib rigatoni, which I had before, and it was still as delicious as I remembered. We didn't have dessert, but did order cappuccinos. I would not recommend the cappuccinos because they do not know how to make them properly. As my son put it, it looks like the cappuccinos you would get at Denny's. Don't get me wrong, I would still dine at Posto 31 for their delicious food, but know not to order the ricotta & honey appetizer next time as they cannot provide an alternative to the sesame bread, nor would I order a cappuccino. I reduced my rating from our first visit because of the noisy cold restaurant, the lack of alternative bread, their cappuccinos and just ok service.

A delicious cute cozy Italian restaurant. I was recommended to go by a family member and it did not disappoint! Recently visiting Italy, the pasta was excellent. The appetizers were tasty as well, the bruschetta was really good. I tried the mango margarita it was good but stronnnggg! So beware, definitely worth it if you want to taste the alcohol. The service was friendly. The restaurant is accessible, it is one floor and no stairs.

It it still really crazy loud in the dining room?

It's still loud in dining room but the patio is open. Much nicer outside.

Are the dishes more like a tapas portion or can a person order one dish and be full?

The appetizers are large enough to be shared by 1-3 people for sure. For me the salad is enough for a dinner. So would be the calamari - but does anyone eat a plate of fried calamari for dinner?!… Read more

Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

It's a shareable, tapas-style dining experience, which makes it ideal for groups. We ordered the Fried Mozz Brick, which was good but didn't quite wow our group. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, always a go-to for me and this one met my expectations. For pizzas, we tried the Pepper Only, the Sausage Fest, and The Original Mr. Beef, and that one ended up being my favorite. Definitely the star of the night. The drink menu is also great. Lots of options depending on what you're in the mood for. And as a mom, I have to mention the bathroom situation. Although it's downstairs, it's clean, spacious and private, and they have a changing table, which honestly makes such a difference. Believe it or not, not every place thinks about that, and it's always appreciated. Overall, a great spot for groups with good food, good drinks, and an aesthetic interior that left me wanting to go back for more.

But for a premium price, I expect premium product, and this place is rough around the edges in ways that feel easy to fix. I'm pointing them out in hopes they'll be corrected. First the positive - the food was pretty good. Not great for the price, but pretty good. Drip coffee was better than most diners/cafes in the area. The ambience was pleasant. Here's the issues. 1. The furniture needs a refresh and I don't think the place has even been open that long. The side tables by the window are losing their finish - a fragment of wood got caught under my finger nail as I was sitting down and just lightly grazed the table with my hand. I also brushed away a few additional flakes coming up. The chiffon curtains are charming until you look closer and see they're speckled with food from past diners. A moss ball decoration in the bathroom is missing half its moss. It's little stuff, obviously, but when I spot things like this at a place otherwise charging a premium partially for cute aesthetics, I always get concerned that the lack of attention to detail might also be getting reflected in the food. 2. Value for money and food quality are also an issue. $20 for one slice of sourdough cut in half, a rather overdone French omelette with sour cream on top (not mentioned on the menu and a weird choice) a bowl of fruit I wasn't interested in rather than a choice of free side, and sausages I paid extra for, is not good value to me. The bread was good! The omelette was mediocre. The sausage was very solid, had a slight funk to it that I liked and suggested to me it was made in house - but 7 dollars for two sausage patties is absolutely wild. I would suggest Milkstop rethink the combos on its menu to include more and be priced a touch more transparently. 3. Finally, service. Everyone was VERY KIND, again, want to stress that, but service was slow and rather inattentive for most of the meal. The place was only half full, but water and an initial drink order were slow, and I waited for a while for the check while the staff chatted amongst themselves in the corner of the room. Not trying to be a dick, the life of a service worker is tough, but the place was mostly empty and I noticed they already charge a 3% service gratuity on your orders, so I'd expect a little better. Basically this place has a very charming surface with some wonkiness around the edges. I will definitely come back again but guys, come on - ditch the gross chiffon curtains, for both our sakes.

I ordered from Entourage Downers Grove and was honestly impressed with how well everything held up for delivery. The standout for me was the lobster bisque. It arrived at the perfect temperature, which is pretty impressive for delivery. The bisque was rich and luscious without feeling overly heavy, and the basil oil added a nice brightness that balanced the creaminess beautifully. It also had a generous amount of lobster, including several large chunks, and was a very solid portion overall. The filet mignon sliders were another highlight. Each slider had a substantial piece of filet mignon topped with pickled onions, microgreens, and horseradish cream on brioche buns. The onions and horseradish added enough acidity and bite to balance the richness of the beef without overpowering it. I also tried the Vietnamese summer rolls, filled with roasted shiitake mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and rice noodles, served with both peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted very fresh, and the sauces complemented the generously stuffed rolls nicely. My only small critique is that cutting them in half made for a prettier presentation, but made them a little awkward to dip and eat. Overall, this was a surprisingly strong delivery experience, and I would absolutely order from them again, or better yet, make it over to the restaurant itself next time I'm in the area.
