    Chilaquiles
    Vita P.

Great local spot, homey and cozy! This place is so cute, great for brunch and lunch, they have great selection of alcohol and brunch items. I had a hard time choosing an option on the menu to be honest. It looks like they change their items because items on the menu were different than options on Yelp. Their sweets look to die for and are definitely homemade. We ended up getting the chilaquiles which seems to be a popular option and went home with a cinnamon roll. Service was kind and attentive. Plenty of parking. I definitely recommend stopping over and will be back.

So nice to find this perfect cafe on our roadtrip. We arrived around 1045, having already had breakfast a free hours earlier, we decided to sit and relax until 11am when lunch was served. The staff were pleasant and attentive, and the food was delicious. If I lived in this area, I would become a regular!

    French onion soup

We were able to grab a last minute Valentine's Day reservation and it worked out perfectly. First, staff was very friendly. Second, great cocktail menu- decided to try the creamy limoncello Collins. Highly recommend it. We started our meal with the French onion soup- honestly one of the best ever. That broth had so much flavor. Next we shared some appetizers and then had the chicken Caesar salad. It was amazing. Will definitely be coming back.

    Quiche of the day

A local joint that feels homey & cozy with alot of windows and a relaxed but pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly and helpful, and the food was fresh and delicious. My quiche of the day was spinach and cheese, and you could tell it was made that day. Drinks were delicious, and we did not feel rushed to leave after we finished our meal. A great place for an afternoon lunch before shopping in downtown LaGrange.

Very cute and cozy spot right on the train line. Came in for lunch on a Friday, and man was it packed - it seemed like every table was filled. But the kitchen and the front of house staff were able to keep up without a problem. They must be like this all the time. Food came out hot and everything we had was delicious. I want to come back and try some other things on their menu. They have a great selection!

A spicy stew with poached eggs on top. Not Shakshuka
    Damon S.

I went here for brunch with friends before driving back to St. Louis. I ordered Shakshuka since you don't see it so often. I got a spicy stew with poached eggs on top. Not Shakshuka. The whole thing that makes Shakshuka great is the eggs poaching in the stew (preferably in an oven), the spice and flavors infuse the eggs. This is just a lazy version. I am not sure what the idea behind phoning in a relatively rare dish like this is. It is going to turn off anyone who has actually had it before. It isn't like there is a real demand for it. The stew was properly spicy - not midwest spicy! The server refilled my cold brew, which was nice, but didn't ask how the food was or I would have said all this then. It seemed like they did other things well. Not sure what the idea is here.

    Creamy Crawfish Creole Risotto

Having lived in Forest Park, Oak Park, and North Riverside over the last 5-10 years, my wife and I have tried a lot of great places on those areas, plus La Grange, Oak Brook, Hinsdale, and others. Milkstop Cafe is hands down my favorite restaurant. The service is always top notch - never have to wait too long to order a drink, appetizer, or meal. And most importantly, when I'm ready to leave, I don't have to feel like a hostage because I can't get the wait-person's attention to get the check. Milkstop has great cocktails and great food. Most recently, I tried the Crawfish Creole dish and it was incredible (both taste and presentation). I can't wait to go back and have that dish again.

Pâté served with mustard, pickles, and cranberry preserves.

Smells amazing the whole time. Staff was great. Sean helped us out and gave some solid recommendations. We went with the pepperonly pizza. When it hit the table, the presentation looked amazing. First bite... that was it. The crust had that perfect crunch on the outside but still soft inside. You could taste that wood-fired char, just enough to give it that smoky edge. The cheese was melted just right, stretchy and hot. The sauce had a nice balance, a little tangy, a little sweet, not overpowering anything. The pepperoni was the best part. Crispy on the edges, a little oily in a good way, and full of flavor. Every bite just worked. Thin, balanced, nothing too heavy. If you like pizza, this is one of those spots you gotta try. I'd go back for that one easy.

It's a shareable, tapas-style dining experience, which makes it ideal for groups. We ordered the Fried Mozz Brick, which was good but didn't quite wow our group. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the Caesar salad, always a go-to for me and this one met my expectations. For pizzas, we tried the Pepper Only, the Sausage Fest, and The Original Mr. Beef, and that one ended up being my favorite. Definitely the star of the night. The drink menu is also great. Lots of options depending on what you're in the mood for. And as a mom, I have to mention the bathroom situation. Although it's downstairs, it's clean, spacious and private, and they have a changing table, which honestly makes such a difference. Believe it or not, not every place thinks about that, and it's always appreciated. Overall, a great spot for groups with good food, good drinks, and an aesthetic interior that left me wanting to go back for more.

We arrived on a Friday night just before 9:00 PM and had no trouble finding street parking--always a win. We were greeted by our waitress, Jennifer, who was absolutely amazing. She let us know about their late-night perk: half-price small plates and select drinks on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 PM until close, which is such a great incentive for heading out later in the evening. Jennifer was attentive without being intrusive--our water glasses were always full, she checked in after every course, and her recommendations for both food and drinks were spot-on. We started with a Mad Rose for V and a Chameleon for me. Both cocktails were delicious, and after finishing his Mad Rose, V definitely felt the celebratory spirit kicking in. For appetizers, we shared the Vietnamese Summer Rolls and Sweet Chili Calamari. The summer rolls were light, fresh, and nicely accented with mint. The calamari was sweet with a surprisingly spicy finish--delicious, though the heat was just a bit much for V. I'd happily order both again. For my main course, I had the Wagyu Beef Stroganoff, and wow--hands down the best stroganoff I've ever had. The beef was incredibly tender, and the sauce was perfectly balanced with the noodles. It even paired beautifully with my Chameleon, with subtle lemon notes that complemented each other surprisingly well. V ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop, cooked medium well and absolutely perfect. He loved every bite. It came with a risotto that he enjoyed, even if it wasn't the standout of the dish. Dessert sealed the deal. We finished with Sandy's White Wine Cake--which reminded me of a carrot cake in the best way--and the Banana Cream Pie, which was easily the best banana cream pie I've ever had. Truly a WOW moment. Between the excellent food, thoughtful service, and great late-night specials, Entourage made V's birthday celebration one to remember. We'll definitely be back. Sorry, I wish I had pics but I left my phone behind today.

I ordered from Entourage Downers Grove and was honestly impressed with how well everything held up for delivery. The standout for me was the lobster bisque. It arrived at the perfect temperature, which is pretty impressive for delivery. The bisque was rich and luscious without feeling overly heavy, and the basil oil added a nice brightness that balanced the creaminess beautifully. It also had a generous amount of lobster, including several large chunks, and was a very solid portion overall. The filet mignon sliders were another highlight. Each slider had a substantial piece of filet mignon topped with pickled onions, microgreens, and horseradish cream on brioche buns. The onions and horseradish added enough acidity and bite to balance the richness of the beef without overpowering it. I also tried the Vietnamese summer rolls, filled with roasted shiitake mushrooms, fresh vegetables, and rice noodles, served with both peanut sauce and sweet chili sauce. Everything tasted very fresh, and the sauces complemented the generously stuffed rolls nicely. My only small critique is that cutting them in half made for a prettier presentation, but made them a little awkward to dip and eat. Overall, this was a surprisingly strong delivery experience, and I would absolutely order from them again, or better yet, make it over to the restaurant itself next time I'm in the area.

Posto 31 is located in Lagrange Park which is just slightly outside and west of the city. Their restaurant week deal is $45 per person for dinner and every adult in the party is required to participate. We tried the following: 1) Pork belly with a brown butter sweet potato mash and apple slaw - This was a delicious and refreshing appetizer. The fat isn't excessive and there is a good sear with the pork belly. I think it was different in a sense that it didn't exactly go with the Italian theme. 2) Arancini with chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, and marinara. This is the standard fare and you can't go wrong with this selection. 3) Faroe Island salmon with squash puree and Brussel sprout slaw. The salmon was well executed and I loved how it was paired with the slaw. 4) Arrabbiata with squid ink linguini and jumbo shrimp. This was the star of the night and what drew our attention when we first reviewed the restaurant week menu. It is rare to find squid ink linguini in the city and neighboring suburbs. The portion was huge and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We are already planning a return to order this again. 5) Tiramisu was the standard fare and once again, the portion was huge. We demolished it though. 6) Cookie skillet had a square of chocolate chip cookie topped with candied pretzels, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We did not get to try it because our girls just took it to town. So needless to say, it was thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the kids' an eight inch pepperoni pizza. It was more than enough for our two girls to share.
