The ambiance of this place is great! Black lighting throughout makes the unique Day-of-the-Dead decor pop. The service was outstanding. Great drinks. The food selection is extremely limited. That's the only thing that I would have liked to have more of. Simple finger food is all that is offered at this time. It would nice if they would offer tequila flights to try out their wide selection. The location is very good. Right in the heart of Riverside by the train station. The drinks here are awesome! They do serve several of their specialty drinks in these skull mugs which are pretty cool. We did not eat but when it comes to food they have some appetizers to order from. The decorations and lighting inside makes the experience that much better. Wanted to check out riverside and it's located nicely in their downtown area. Parking is pretty easy. We did like the drinks and the decor was unique. The downside was that it took such a long time to get our drinks despite there being multiple servers and Or bartenders. Also, they need to update their drink prices and include information on surcharges. It was annoying to see the bill. read more

Note: since there are some one star reviews that don't seem fair at all.... if you can read directions, they clearly give you a heads up with signage when you walk in, and on the menu itself, that there is a 2 hour limit. They seem to enforce it, so if you have a problem, maybe just don't come and don't complain. Those are their rules, just deal with it. Also - this is a cocktail bar - Cocktails everywhere nowadays are not really cheap. And again - this is a cocktail bar - there is limited food because it's a cocktail bar. We were looking for a cute bar with appetizers to spend a little time on a Saturday night and stopped in here. It's a cute small bar with a Dia de los Muertos theme. They had a decent selection of drinks and a small menu of food. We had the arrachera nachos which were so incredible-the best arrachera I've had in a while and homemade chips. We also had the quesadillas. The homemade salsa that came with the quesadillas was out of this world amazing. For drinks we tried the strawberry margarita, the la Calaca cocktail, and the la Diabla cocktail. The strawberry margarita was good and you could taste the fresh strawberries throughout. The La Calaca was unique with notes of cucumber and mint and was incredibly refreshing. La Diabla was a simple cocktail but was good. The service was great and overall we had a wonderful experience. La Catrina was fantastic! I got the jalapeño margarita (and then another, so delicious!) and my husband got the mango mojito and then a jack and coke, because he's not a tequila fan. We both LOVED our drinks, which is saying something. We sat outside for the first round, which was so nice, but moved inside when it got dark, and the inside atmosphere was awesome. Why give this place one star? Well... - When asking for water we were told they only have bottled water aka you have to pay for it. How money hungry! - We were told they won't split checks. Seriously? That's not really group outing friendly. - Over priced drinks. Now I'm well aware every bar and restaurant is overpriced but these are downtown prices for tiny drinks! - The food is mediocre. Certainly many more authentic places around here where you can grab better fare with bigger drinks. - It's a small space and feels very forced to be a bar. It's got a cozy feel with a historic view. The place would be better off as a cafe or juice bar in my opinion. - A 21+ only establishment in a family centered town is odd. Luckily there are plenty of family inclusive establishments to go to that are nearby that I'd much rather give my money to anyway. I would not recommend to others. I would not go again. read more

Awesome bar with great atmosphere! My wife and I just discovered this place so wanted to give it a try. Friendly wait staff greeted us as soon as we entered. It's a small place, so I'm assuming it gets full at peak times (it was 5:30 Friday). My wife tried the Paloma Negra and I tried the Cantarito. Both drinks were excellent! We also tried a couple of things off the limited food menu (basically appetizers). The tacos de calle are really small (4" diameter tortillas, 3 tacos to an order), but full of very flavorful skirt steak. My favorite was the arrachera quesadilla. If you're hungry, eat somewhere else then stop here for drinks. read more

So glad I got a chance to try this place! The bar has a really cool vibe, great drinks, and good food. It's family owned and the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. They have a two hour limit and I recommend going early because the bar filled up quickly. We had to wait a few minutes for our drinks/food just because of how busy it was, but it was worth the wait. Had not been here in few months . Ordered a double margarita jalapeño using casa amigos in which they charged $33 for a drink which is same size glass as a single. They said upcharge but never mentioned $17 . Bill was ridiculous and bartender had attitude at the end. They charged card before saw bill. Use to love this place now will not be back. read more

I give 3 stars because their food menu is very limited. The drinks we ordered were small and full of ice. It was an okay experience but not great that will make me comeback again. I love this bar! The decorations are beautiful and the specialty drinks are great and cleverly named. I've tried most of them, and the one in my picture is "La Doña". There really isn't any other place around here or the neighboring towns that's quite like it. I like coming in on Thursdays for the half off flavored shots, which are soooo yummy and only $3!!! And the ladies that work the bar are always so sweet.
