Chicken Parmesan and Cranberry Spiced Sangria

I came across Antico Posto during a visit to Oak Brook Center and I was pleasantly surprised. It was warmer outside when I visited so they were able to seat us in a covered patio area. The inside of the restaurant is large. The restaurant was busy during my visit but they still had ample seating available. My wait time wasn't that long but I would expect you'd have a longer wait for a larger party vs my two party. Anytime I go to an Italian restaurant I always try the chicken parmigiana because this is typically a staple item and they're less likely to mess it up. Antico didn't disappoint with their chicken parmigiana! The chicken was well seasoned and the sauce was flavorful. I was easily able to get two meals from my order so it's priced reasonably. I'm used to city prices so the food was reasonably priced.

Adding this updated review as it's been quite a few years. And over the years I have consistently come back to this restaurant because first the menu is always changing and to the quality has truly been consistent. The only thing that's been inconsistent with all the numerous visits over the years has been the service, which is really what's holding me back from full five stars. For example, when I speak about service, I have been here multiple times for lunches and for dinners and depend, depending on the waiter that you get, someone will actually pack your food for you. Some will just simply bring you your box. Or someone will give you the option. So this is an inconsistent practice amongst the staff, which clearly tells me that there is some type of inconsistency in the training and expect expectations set by the lettuce entertainment group. What is also keeping me back from a five stars is that at least 3 to 4 years after Covid the lettuce group and the melman's continue to keep the 3% surcharge on the bill and then require you as a consumer to request to remove it. I hope everyone realizes that the 3% surcharge does not go to your weight staff's pocket in any way shape or form. It goes back to the Melmans only. Posting new photos of new dishes, as I mentioned, the menu is always changing, which I absolutely appreciate and portions Continue to be fair over the years.

    Complimentary Bread Service with Oil/Cheese/Veggies

I'll say this right off the bat... I'm not a huge pasta or Italian food person. However, I absolutely loved Antico Posto. We ordered the chicken parmesan; the chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavorful. The marinara sauce had a good tomato flavor and paired so well with the chicken. The hot honey pizza was lovely as well; I loved how it had a hint of sweetness from the honey but a kick as well. I originally came for the bread service, and it did not disappoint! The bread was fresh and airy, and it was a match made in heaven with the oil/giardinera. The service was perfect; our waitress was so sweet, and she made sure to check in on us even though it was busy. The ambiance was beautiful. The inside was a nice fine dining Italian experience with an outdoor seating experience that's lovely since you can see all the people walking in the Oakbrook Center mall.

LOVE!! A great spot for a very enjoyable meal. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and decided to take advantage of the perfect weather and Antico Posto's outdoor patio. I did peak inside and it is dim giving off a great setting for a cozy date night. Service throughout was excellent and timed out well. Within minutes of being seated waters brought over along with table bread and a parm and olive oil spread. There's a QR code on each table allowing guests to pay the bill once they are ready to check out. This makes it convenient for anyone who is there for a quick meal or just ready to get their shop on. We shared the fried calamari and angel hair pomodoro pasta. The calamari was overcooked but it was still pretty good. The pasta was delicious, noodles were cooked perfectly and I love how they use fresh mozzarella in this dish. All the flavors went well together. To wash things down I tried the garden refresher zero proof drink. It was exactly like its name, refreshing!

    Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka

My mom and I decided to take a trip to Oakbrook for a little shopping, and we stumbled upon this restaurant -- we're so glad we did! We decided to give it a try for lunch, and it completely exceeded our expectations. We were seated right away and served fresh bread with an incredible olive oil mixture that was absolutely to die for. It was honestly hard to stop eating it so we'd still have room for our meals! We ordered the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka and the Risotto with steak (a special that day). The Rigatoni had just the right amount of kick and came in a generous portion -- I only wish I'd added some spicy sausage or another protein to go with it. The real standout, though, was the Risotto. It was packed with flavor, and the steak was cooked perfectly to a juicy medium rare -- honestly better than some steakhouses I've been to! Our server was wonderful -- attentive, kind, and quick to refill our waters. The prices were also very fair for the quality of the food and service. Overall, we were so impressed and left feeling full and happy. I'll definitely be coming back!

Great service, great value for restaurant week. $45 for a glass a wine, an app, entree and dessert. Chicken Meatballs, chicken piccata and tiramisu were all delicious. Love the add birthday touches for my friend....birthday card signed by the staff waiting at our table and a candle in her dessert.

The image shows an indoor dining space at Antico Posto, with string lights hanging from the ceiling and potted plants suspended or placed along the walls. Patrons are seated at tables, eating and drinking, with a view of the outdoor area through large windows. The floor has a patterned tile design, and a waiter is walking through the space. The setting is warm and inviting, with a mix of natural and artificial lighting.

A 45 minute drive out of the way to eat at an Italian restaurant in Oakbrook mall, stay with me! I really enjoy visiting Antico Posto. Have been 5x now and somehow never got to reviewing it. Perfect ambiance for date night, girls night, a family meal or a celebration. Love the outdoor patio in the summer time. Standouts today for a girl friend's birthday dinner were the truffled whipped ricotta, burratta caprese, cranberry spiced sangria, tiramisu and complementary bread and oil starter (that marinated oil is SO good). Had spicy vodka pasta for my entree but found the sauce to be underwhelming, I think the eggplant parm would've been a better pick. I'll have to try that the next time I visit. Parking is easy in the garage right next to the restaurant. Reservation is easy through OpenTable. Service was great. My only gripe is a few more veggies entrees would be great and I wish it as open until 10! But no hesitations otherwise to be back.

And nice little birthday card was at our table

The service was Amazing sitting outside! I'm really glad we didn't get seated inside as the restaurant as I saw it was filled when we were leaving. My friend and I split two simple meals, the eggplant Parmesan, and delicious gnocchi We got a delicious Amalfi cocktail as well! This is a great place to meet up and eat a great meal. I was celebrating my friend's birthday with her, and she was given a lovely slice of tiramisu with a candle in it from our great server. Only other thing was to just make sure no extra charges are added to your receipt before you pass off your card.

My wife called it a perfectly medium Strip Steak Giardiniera* - A white ceramic plate contains a partially eaten medium-rare steak with a pink interior and a seared exterior. Next to the steak is a roasted potato topped with grated cheese and small herbs. A fork rests on the plate, and some juices and crumbs are visible on the surface. The setting suggests a dining experience at a restaurant, possibly Italian, given the context of the review.

My wife and I were first-timers! I immediately noticed that the average age of the patrons was AARP! But my father always says, when old people frequent an establishment, pay attention. It must be good! Well, he's not wrong! The food was really good, it's not overly expensive, and the service was excellent. The bread and oils were scrumptious! The food came out within 10 minutes. My wife commented that her steak was a perfect medium! I enjoyed a generous number of shrimp in my spicy rigatoni. Speaking of... it was spicy! It had a beautiful kick to it that took a few bites to hit. I loved it. The only problem I had is that the music was a bit loud. We're already talking about going back next week!

I'm so insanely impressed with this place!!! Came with my boyfriend on a date and immediately loved the dark, romantic, and cozy setting. The complimentary bread was airy and perfectly crunchy. And the pizza was the stuff of dreams- so, so flavorful and you can taste the quality of the cheese and olive oil. The salad was a little underdressed but it's impossible to complain when everything else was sooo good. Prices were fantastic. Service was fantastic and quick. Hardcore recommend.

Came here for a birthday meal and was surprised to see it was a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. Service was great as with most LEY restaurants. Food and drinks were decent. I enjoyed the pistachio-crusted whitefish. The porcino gnocchi was also good. The pizza was good, but the dough was a bit tough to cut apart but had a nice chew to it. Located inside Oak Brook Mall it was convenient to get to and had plenty of parking nearby.

Ambiance 7/10 - depending on where you are seated. Service 7/10 - it is okay. Nothing special. Was a little difficult to flag our waiter down both times I have gone. Food 6/10 - the food is okay. Not bad but not great either. Portions are huge. I came here twice and had a similar experience each time. Pictures look better than the food.

Our service was well paced and we had a wonderful server. We started out with drinks and went ahead to order. Their salads are very much so made to share. They have sides but the value for sharing is better. Any entree ordered comes with a side, which is great. I get very tired of these à la carte style menus at these prices. We shred a Greek Salad small, enough for two-three people. I also ordered the Romanian Skirt Steak and a side of Cottage Fries. The steaks are always cooked to my liking and have plenty of juice. Each ingredient in the sandwich tasted like they had been freshly prepared, and the combination of the flavors from the turkey and avocado were perfect to provide a nice taste contrast for the sandwich! It was delicious! The sandwich included chips and a chocolate chip cookie as an additional portion of each meal. The cookie was a great add on and wonderful treat with the lunch. Located in what used to be Anthony's, the Italian steakhouse, the ambiance is actually quite nice- but it's the service that needs some work. We stopped in after a meeting in the hotel for a drink with a small group. The space is nice- leather chairs clustered around tables in front of a fake fireplace. Murals on the walls, and a bar that stretches across the one wall. Even though there wasn't a big crowd on the night we were there- service was slow. We finally walked up to the bar to get our drinks. We ordered a snack of some chips and guac but it was disappointing as there wasn't enough guac to go with the quantity of chips provided. If you like a good martini- they've got them here- but no blue cheese olives which is a must in my book! It's a bar in a suburban hotel. I didn't expect much and that's what I got.

It looked harmless and we were mainly going for wine and to catch up with each other so I bought the certificate and off we went. The Den is located inside the Oak Brook Doubletree hotel and there is no indication from outside the hotel where the restaurant is so I punted as far as parking was concerned. Luckily, I picked the correct side of the hotel. At first glance, the inside of the restaurant is a little dated, but it was clean, cozy, and quiet. I was directed to pick any seat I wanted. Looking over the menu there were some affordable starters/small plates, and a decent selection of entrees (@ 5 non beef and 5 beef). The wine list was nothing special either in information or choice. I was going to start with a Pinot Noir, and asked about a particular Wine maker as nothing else was listed on the sheet besides the wine maker, appellation, variety and vintage. I knew that wine maker had several labels of Pinot Noir so I asked the server which they were pouring. He came back and said it wasn't listed on the bottle. I guess I could have asked to see the bottle, but it just seemed like too much work for me too. I went with it and it was fine. Started with a Caesar salad with no croutons. Not only were there no croutons, but the listed "crispy prosciutto" and cheese was missing. Whatever. I was STARVING and ate it without complaint. Next on the list was a cheese plate. The cheese plate was listed as having brie, blue and aged white cheddar, along with grapes, crackers and walnuts. What we got was a young yellow cheddar, some smoked gouda, and boursin cheese spread with crackers and dried cranberries. Again, i was using a gift certificate so I didn't want to make a fuss, but my sister and I brought it up to the server that basically nothing that was described on the plate was actually on the plate. Also mentioned the salad mistake too (might as well go for broke). He apologize and went back to the kitchen and see what was up. When he came back he apologize as he noticed the salad was incorrect but didn't do anything about it, and he also said that there were two different menus going on and the chef was working off a different menu. He then brought out a much bigger plate with a little brie, some blue cheese, what I think was a mild mexican cheese, and something that tasted like minibabybel. Still no cheddar. We ordered more wine, and got some olives and I ordered a rib-eye. The server suggested I get the all-you-can-eat NY strip, (thanks for bringing that up) but I still went with the rib-eye. While only 14 oz, it was decent and bone-in (which was a nice surprise) and I would think I great selling feature. For our third round of drinks, the server suggested a meritage they had. My sister stayed with the cab, but I tried it. It wasn't bad, but it was very warm. When we asked for the check, he brought it out and I noticed it was just under $100. I waited for him to come back and explained I had one of those $50 off it you spend $100 certificates and we would probably need to split another glass of wine. He explained that it would be no problem to just use the certificate now as he had not charged for the last round of drinks as a thank-you. That was really nice of him, but it was really something he should have addressed when he first dropped off the check..." hey folks, sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced. I got you a round of drinks. I hope you'll try us again." Overall, our server was nice, but he lacked presence on the floor. And there were only 5 tables at the most going on. Now I get that this is a hotel venue, so perhaps repeat business isn't a priority, but with better service and some quality control, I could see this place really taking off as an after-work location. As it is now, I would go back if someone else wanted to go, or if I had another gift certificate, but it definitely isn't on my list of "must go back" spots.
