Yum truffle and funghi done right ‍

I stopped into Piccolo Buco after a day of shopping in Oak Brook. I had originally ordered a pizza through Uber Eats, but with the beautiful weather, I decided to stay and enjoy it on the patio instead--a perfect setting for a sunny afternoon. I ordered the mushroom and truffle pizza and was pleasantly surprised by its balanced flavors. Truffle can sometimes overpower a dish, but everything was thoughtfully executed. The concept feels fresh while complementing Cooper's Hawk's reputation for wine and hospitality. I also appreciated the restaurant's design details, especially the restroom wallpaper featuring classic Italian hand gestures--a fun, memorable touch. While I enjoyed the food and atmosphere, I felt the patio service could have been warmer and more attentive. I followed up with management afterward and appreciated the opportunity to share my feedback. Overall, Piccolo Buco offers a charming atmosphere, quality food, and a concept that stands out in Oak Brook. I'll definitely return during future shopping trips to explore more of the menu.

We visited Piccolo Buco for my Nonna-In-Law's birthday and had a nice evening overall. The service was friendly and accommodating, although things moved a bit slowly throughout the meal. Everyone in our group ordered pasta, which may have been our mistake given that the restaurant is especially known for pizza! The food was good, but not amazing and for the price point I was hoping to be a little more impressed. One highlight was the calamari had a topping that made it stand out from traditional restaurant calamari appetizers! They also have Allagash White - which was a special treat! I will give it another try in the future, but next time I would order one of the pizzas that so many people seem to love! Sometimes you need to try a restaurant's specialty before making a final judgment!

Happy Hour Review! Piccolo Buco is under the Cooper's Hawk umbrella and inspired by the owners trip to Italy. It can be a little more pricey than CH locations but focus on woodfire pizza, pastas, wine, cocktails. I visited for Happy Hour where they have discount pizzas, wines, and cocktails. We started with a Hugo Spritz and Aperol Spritz. Each were $8 on special and had good flavor! They did have quite a bit of ice and were half full but presented very nicely. For food, we shared a Charred Pepperoni. The pizza was mostly crust and not the most ideal to share. I recommend getting your own pizza. Overall, the experience was okay. The portions were a tad small for the pricing. I also wouldn't pay full price for those portions.

Great service, great ambience & great food. What more could you what!?! We stopped as a party of 25 after a volleyball tournament. Our servers were amazing, very attentive and they delivered our food & drinks promptly. Overall, food was great, we had the chopped salad and chicken parm. Chicken was amazing! The only downside was our to go pizza wasn't sliced.

We went to the original Piccolo Buco in Rome in 2023 for our honeymoon and I couldn't be happier to have a sister restaurant here in IL! Would love one downtown in Chicago! We ordered: Chopped salad - didn't try but my parents liked it Yellow bisque - 5/5 I don't even like bisque but this was tasty! Squash blossoms- 4/5 delicious! Was a staple for us in Italy Truffle fondue pasta - 5/5 DELICIOUS. I always try to choose the most interesting and my parents, who said they never would have ordered it based on the description, LOVED IT. My mom said it may have been the best pasta she's ever had (and they've had a lot haha) - Tre Carne yellow pizza 5/5 delicious - Nduja red pizza 4/5 very tasty, good spice level And of course we love the coopershawk wine. My favs are the Blanc de Blanc, almond, Pinot Gris, romance red, and the Chianti on special right now is great chilled.

Came here for lunch to try out the pizza and it did not disappoint. Our server was very attentive and offered great suggestions since this was our first time. We removed the basic from the pizza and it was cut table side. We also had the tiramisu to go very good. I highly recommend.

    Spicy Calabrian Shrimp

Had Spicy Calabrian Shrimp for lunch. Delicious! I asked for the spicy sauce on the side. From the welcoming hostess Doreen to our wonderful server Angelicque, had a great casual lunch. Rocco(bartender) makes a Great Amalfi margarita. There are so many dining options in Oak Brook; give Piccolo Buco a try. They can accommodate large groups.

This might be my favorite restaurant ever. It is so beautiful inside, with ample seating. The food is unbelievable, everything is beyond delicious. The gluten free options are so good as well. There is a huge wine selection being Cooper's Hawk affiliated, and even more on top of those. The servers are very kind and knowledgeable. I have been here many times and it has consistently been amazing. I highly recommend trying, they also offer carry out!!

Visited this restaurant with my coworkers for a team dinner on a Tuesday. The space is large and inviting. Great for small or large groups. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered a bunch of apps prior to our entrees. I really enjoyed the calamari and pizza. For my entree I selected the chicken parm. It was delicious and a large portion that was worth the price! I'll def be back while in the area.

Had an early family dinner here. Made a reservation for 4:30pm on a Saturday. We had to wait a few mins before we were sat. We had a table in the back right next to the kitchen. I am a wine club member and gave the server my member card. She explained they had all the same wines as Coopers plus a few different ones. I ordered the frozen Bellini sangria which is my fav. This was the 1st time I've tried this restaurant since being diagnosed with celiac so I was excited to try their GF dishes. I informed the server that I had a gluten allergy. We shared a tre carne yellow pizza on GF crust. We could see everything that the kitchen staff was doing to make the pizzas. I was a little worried since all the pizzas go on the same counter station and I was hoping they did something different with the GF ones. Unfortunately they did not. I saw two GF pizzas ahead of mine be made and the kitchen did not change their gloves nor use different utensils. They were also put on the same counter as the rest. The counter was full of crumbs and there were so many pizzas that it can easily touch others. I was hoping mine would be different but it wasn't the case. The server brought out the pizza and I informed her that I do not feel safe eating it. I explained the situation and let her know that I cannot have even a crumb of gluten. She let the managers know and said the pizza would be remade safely. The manager talked with the kitchen staff and oversaw how my pizza was being handled. They do have a dedicated oven space for GF pizzas but just need to implement some protocols. They ended up wiping down the counter and made sure there weren't a lot of pizzas when mine came out. For my entree, I had the hand rolled three finger cavatelli with GF linguine instead. They indicated a manager was overseeing that it was made properly and safely. The food came out at the same time since the pizza was a re-fire. The food was fantastic! Everything tasted really good. But as I continued to watch the pizzas being made, I saw the same things happening with another GF pizza. I really hope they can find a dedicated spot to keep the GF pizzas separate when they are ready to be ran to the tables. A manager isn't going to be able to monitor everything that comes out. I understand it isn't a dedicated gluten free restaurant but they can definitely take precautions to avoid as much cross contamination as they can. The server did apology and thanked me for creating awareness. The GF pizza was comped from the check. Again the food was delicious so I really hope they can put better procedures together to ensure guests safety around allergies.

I've been to the restaurant a couple times but decided to try take out and see how it was. Everything was still a 10/10. For appetizers i got the chopped salad and the truffle fondue cappellacci. I didn't know what to expect because sometimes take out salads can be hit or miss but this tasted just as good as it would ordering it there. There were plenty of toppings including their dressing all chopped together. It was fresh and all the toppings blended well with eachother. The pasta dish is a must get! I think about this pasta a lot. The pistachios with the balsamic and truffle is unlike anything i have tasted. The flavors all complement eachother and for not having any sauce this dish is packed with flavor. For the pizza i got the spicy pepperoni. Cannot go wrong with any of their pizza here. It tastes like the real pizza in italy! The riccota and crispy yet light crust are my favorite part. Overall i would recommend for anyone to come here if they are in the area. Everything I've tasted here is unique, tasty, and fresh. I think dinning in person is probably the move but their take out did not disappoint!

We have been wanting to check out piccolo buco since they opened a few years ago & glad we finally had the time to. Right now the closest location to use is this one in oakbrook but there is another location in Naperville and Tampa (we are located in Indy and hopefully will have one in the future!) We came here on a Thursday evening around 430 and there was plenty of seating (much busier by the time we left around 6) they also have a happy hour with $15 pizzas during this time. The atmosphere is relaxing and casual and a bar area with TVs is an option as well Our server was super friendly which also made the experience great. They have a lot of the Cooper's hawk wines here but also some unique ones as well. Just like at Cooper's hawk; you can try some samples before ordering & can use your tasting here if you are a wine club member. Pizza was delicious! Definitely better fresh but we did get one to go and still tasted good. Next time I'm here I am definitely getting the yellow sauce pizzas- a yellow tomato base that was excellent! They were easily able to make accommodations to the pizzas on the menu - I added ricotta to the pepperoni pizza and also pleased there was no upcharge! Can't wait to come back & get more of this pizza soon

Tried Piccolo Buco in Oakbrook recently. Very nice modern upscale place. We were able to get reservations - there was still a substantial line despite reservations and it seems like the place was rather packed. Ample, modern, cozy inviting decor. Definitely my compliments on ambience. We were also offered a complimentary glass of wine which was nice. Typical Italian offerings menu wise. Me and husband both picked the chicken parm - I asked for light sauce which was not quite followed. The chicken was fresh, but as as good as I've had at other places. The portion of pasta was rather small which made it a bit disappointing. The meal came with two chicken breasts which was reasonable. The server was pleasant and helpful. One thing I did find frustrating is that I made a reservation for two (I did bring my infant - and one of the workers made a big deal that I made a reservation for two vs. 3 - really? my infant daughter does not eat. She sits in her carrier and drinks her milk bottle as needed. She told us something like well if you can make it work ... Yes we did - we accommodated her chair right next to me on the booth were we were sat. Not sure why it would be a big deal to bring an infant and require a 3rd person reservation. *frustrating* Free parking right in front.

The price point was on the high side for us but not out-of-reach. We arrived and was immediately sat in the bar; in fact, everyone is sat in the bar. The dining room has about twenty tables, and they were two tables being used; the bar also had about twenty tables and every table was sat. I asked the waiter and they do sit the bar area first and overflow into the dining room. With the bar area at near capacity and all hard surfaces it was very loud. The dining room had carpet floor and a coffered beamed ceiling it was tremendously quiet. If you want the energy of a crowded restaurant the bar is great, the dinning rom is a more upscale experience.  We started with Calamari Friiti, that is the title of the dish. In smaller print the description is Crispy Fried Calamari, Zucchini,  and herbs. What was served was 70% NOT Calamari but thin fried zucchini strips, fried rosemary (literally the twig of rosemary in batter and fried), and fried thyme (the thyme was removed from the twig so I could not even find it., but the waiter said it was there. At $19  expected more Calamari at least 60%, after all the dish was not called "fried herbs and Calamari". Our table had Spaghetti and Meatballs at $24, the Stuffed Pork Chop special (with Broccoli Rabe) at $27, and I had the Eggplant Parmigiana at $20. I get eggplant Parmesan a lot, it is my favorite Italian dish. $20 is high for eggplant Parmesan, I prefer my eggplant thinly sliced and fried. This is more three eggplant steaks with cheese and red gravy. Not my personal favorite but good. The pasta was so unusual I had to ask about it; the waiter said it is made from scratch in house but the shape in an Italian grocery store would be casarecce. I thought $24 for Spaghetti and Meatballs high but my husband said the Meatballs were excellent. Finally, $27 for one Stuffed Pork Chop also seemed high but it tasted great, the garlic white wine sauce made a tasty glaze. We ordered Tiramisu for the table and one person got the blueberry sorbet. I found the Tiramisu traditional and another person thought the mascarpone cheese was whipped too much. I read a several reviews, most of the reviewers praised the service as outstanding; we found our server disappearing for 30 - 40 minutes; we had to call someone over to order desert and another to get the check.

The fat isn't excessive and there is a good sear with the pork belly. I think it was different in a sense that it didn't exactly go with the Italian theme. 2) Arancini with chicken, parmesan, mozzarella, and marinara. This is the standard fare and you can't go wrong with this selection. 3) Faroe Island salmon with squash puree and Brussel sprout slaw. The salmon was well executed and I loved how it was paired with the slaw. 4) Arrabbiata with squid ink linguini and jumbo shrimp. This was the star of the night and what drew our attention when we first reviewed the restaurant week menu. It is rare to find squid ink linguini in the city and neighboring suburbs. The portion was huge and the flavors were absolutely delicious. We are already planning a return to order this again. 5) Tiramisu was the standard fare and once again, the portion was huge. We demolished it though. 6) Cookie skillet had a square of chocolate chip cookie topped with candied pretzels, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream. We did not get to try it because our girls just took it to town. So needless to say, it was thoroughly enjoyed. We also ordered the kids' an eight inch pepperoni pizza. It was more than enough for our two girls to share.

The crème brûlée is outstanding! The second time we got calamari which was the best I have ever had!! So tender! Not the typical rubbery mess! The best!!!!! I got the mushroom ravioli! Which was good!! And my billionaire drink that gets you right!!!!!!! Amazing service, strong smooth drinks and great food and desserts!!!!

And really, all servers are always sweet and nice. It's always the restaurant inside of department stores that have the best food! Expect to spend around $30 per person or so. I've only come for lunch and never dinner. You can save by getting food family style, but you won't get too full, unless you're on a GLP1

The quality of the food and the beautiful private space made the occasion feel truly special. That said, it's the people who make this place exceptional. Ashley, Lindsay, Maria, Gianna, Odanys, Osmel, Eileen, Victor, and the entire kitchen team--Chef Oscar, Gloria, Laura, and Roberto--are the heart and soul of the experience. From start to finish, they asked thoughtful questions, anticipated every detail, and ensured everything ran seamlessly. They handled the heavy lifting so our family could focus on what mattered most: being together and celebrating. Each course was intentional and perfectly timed, and every guest felt genuinely cared for. Lastly, Nancy's impeccable attention to detail, professionalism, and thoughtfulness made the entire planning process not only smooth, but truly memorable.

I ordered the pollo Milanese. The breaded chicken was good, nice and crispy with decent flavor. The pasta was a bit bland and didn't really add much to the dish. The presentation looked great, but overall the taste was lacking. Portions were filling, though I did feel it was a little overpriced for what you get. It's a decent option if you're craving Italian food while on the road, but I'd probably try a different Italian spot next time.
