Everything is perfect about Ruscello's! Right in Nordstrom what more can you ask for!!! I came in twice this month with my mom. Luis was our waiter both times. He was great! The first time I ordered the chicken tacos. They were appetizer sized... I wish there was four more of them. They were delicious. They were very flavorful and chicken wasn't dry. My mom has the chicken parmigiana with a Caesar salad. Her sandwich was hefty! The chicken was Expertly cooked! Very juicy and it was a chicken breast....done right! I tried the beef and barley soup which was the "soup of the day" and my mom had the lobster bisque. Both were delicioussss!!!!! My billionaire cocktail was so good and packed the perfect punch. Came for lunch with my kids and ordered the Fresh Berry Salad to share with my daughter and my son ordered the grilled cheese and soup off the kids menu. The host was really aloof and didn't have that professional host like presence. Thr server was very nice and attentive. However, he didn't go over the menu or the specials menu or anything really. The price for an old fashion drink is $17 which is insane! The average chicago old fashion is $12-14. The chicken parm sandwich was good, but very spicy! It was different than a classic- no tomatoe sauce. Still good though. The ceasar side salad was not good at all- I was given the ends of the lettuce head and there was almost no dressing so it was like just eating lettuce. There were croutons but no sliced parm like a classic ceasar. I don't recommend this salad. The spinach artichoke is also not a classic style, and I prefer classic, but my husband liked it. My husband really liked the mushroom ravioli. The atmosphere was classy and very clean! The menu is small in terms of choices. And no vegetarian options for the main entrees (but if you're a pescatarian, there's 2 salmon dishes and 1 shrimp dish). To make it look like a fancy restaurant (as it's intended to be) they need a door or wall to separate the shopping center because it's I can see all the clothes/shopping if you're sitting right in front, so it takes away from the "fancy" experience. The food was delicious. I can't stop thinking about those truffle fries and the truffle aioli. Pricing on the menu items are average. I was surprised that a side of fries were $11 but I'm assuming it's due to the truffle. My margarita was the best I've had in a while. The waitress was attentive and made sure to ask the bartender extra questions when we ordered an off the menu drink. My wife and I had lunch at Ruscello oak Brook yesterday 9-30-25. we had calamari & kung pao Brussels sprouts for appetizers, they were both delicious!! Our entrees were a cheese burger and a Ginger Sesame Chicken salad. Both entrees were extremely delicious!! Our server was a young lady named Rose, she was so professional, friendly and super nice!! We have ate at Ruscello in the past and the service has always been great!! I spoke to Mitch the manager and told him the food and service were great!! He could not have been nicer!! I have lived here for many years and only this year decided to try it. And in this year alone found ourself coming back several times. It is located inside Nordstrom. So has the shopping/dining vibe. The food is excellent. Probably had the best turkey sandwich of my life here. I would highly recommend that. Kids love their butter pasta and Mac and cheese. Have not had a dish here that I didn't enjoy. I would easily recommend this place; and not just if you're shopping in Nordstrom. read more

Just as I expect with anything Nordstrom produces, the product (IE food) and service are excellent. I've dined at several Nordstrom restaurants in the country and this is on par if not better with all of them. The food is consistently good anytime I go here. They've never disappointed me and that's saying something from someone who frequents this place. Come here if you're looking to eat something delicious. The lobster bisque cup is a must try here, so creamy and hearty and just enough to fill you up. The cilantro lime chicken tacos were delicious and the best part was the hard shell which was crispy and blends well with the chicken and peppers. The salad and the burger was also very good! I have been dining here for years, when it was Nordstrom Cafe. Ruscello has not wavered on an excellent menu and 5 star Food! Prices are great, too. Of course, the signature tomato basil soup is always great. I always order the wild grilled salmon nicoise salad and it is so fresh. The balsamic dressing is delicious. My daughter ordered the Asian salad with chicken, beautifully prepared. The desserts looked awesome but we did not order due to my dietary restrictions. Also, the new decor is brighter and welcoming compared to the dark wood and former decor. This restaurant is a gem with 5 star presentation and 5 star flavors! My compliments to the Chef! read more

On the way in she told me their tomato soup was to DIE for--and they actually sell jars of it to take home and heat up. Upon entering the restaurant she inquired about the soups and since it was around holiday time---they had sold out but were expecting another shipment in later that day. Since it was the middle of the week and right at the start of lunch we were seated promptly--score for no wait time! The reason I love going anywhere with my friends is because we love to be able to order a bunch of different items and share them. Although they didn't have any soup to take home in a jar, I was happy we could eat some there in the restaurant. The grilled shrimp and arugula was the absolute best salad I have ever had! I cannot express the beauty and pure taste pleasure in every bite! The shrimp are huge and grilled perfectly. The arugula is so fresh with the perfect amount of dressing . The polenta croutons were warm and creamy inside...crispy outside. I think they use a fresh cheese crisp and crumbled on top, which is fantastic against the soft but peppery arugula. I am in love! CUSTOMER SERVICE REVIEW ONLY - I came to Nordstrom's in Oakbrook on 12/27/21 approximately 6:15 in the evening to shop their half yearly sale. I drove and live about an hour away from this location. I've been to Cafe Nordstrom at the Michigan Avenue location and really enjoyed my visit fully so I wanted to try this particular location. I wasn't sure what time they closed so I went inside to ask. Niki was the front desk attendant and informed me they close at 8 p.m. I asked Niki if I wanted to get served, what time did I need to be there and she told me 7:30 p.m. I went on to shop in the store and enjoyed my experience as I bought some items. I looked at the time and it was almost 7:30 p.m. I went back to the restaurant, excited because I viewed the menu when I stopped by before and was looking forward to what I had my eye on. When I returned, Niki was there and had her back turned to me. When she did turn around, I told her I was back and ready to be seated. She then apologized and told me that I wouldn't be able to dine in. I was shocked and then very frustrated. I reminded her what she told me. She looked at her watch and told me it was now 7:34 p.m. and I couldn't be served. Knowing this wasn't right, I asked to speak to the manager and she told me there was an assistant manager on duty. Matt was friendly, I confirmed he was the assistant manager and told him the situation. He told me the only thing I could order is a soup and salad. To me, that made it worse as I want to be able to order what I want. I told him I didn't drive an hour at night to this store to have dinner consisting of a soup and salad and walked out of the restaurant really disappointed as they both really didn't seem to be concerned. If you can't keep your word to a guest who wants to dine, then please don't give false information. I guess I will have to go back to Cafe Nordstrom downtown Chicago where I will be treated well. Decided to try this place out on our trip to oak brook center conveniently located inside Nordstrom. The restaurant is nicely decorated with modern vibe feel. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Me and my boyfriend ordered the bruschetta pizza and chicken meatballs both items were freshly made and tasted delicious. The wait time to receive our food wasn't overly long as we went during downtime. Final verdict: Ruscello is a good place to check out whenever you make a shopping trip at Oakbrook center. We had the hardest time finding this place within the shopping center. We called 3 times and the employee kept giving us the dumbest directions such as it's near H & M and the AMC theaters. Made it a sit down restaurant instead of an upscale fast casual- this is a department store- no one is coming here for dinner - it's a stop while shopping. 3. Emphasis on big dinners instead of sandwiches. 4. Got rid of all time favorites- no more lime cilantro chicken salad, no more strawberry pecan salad, no chicken caprese sandwich- no artichoke pasta- no hummus platter 5. I'm always very pleased with my meal when I come here in between or after shopping at Oakbrook. Most of the restaurant's at Oakbrook mall are traditional/nicer sit down places, and if I am by myself shopping I can just pull up a seat at their bar or a small table here. The atmosphere is definitely above going to the subway on the other side of the mall, but not the type of atmosphere you really need to be dressed up for. The restaurant is located near the men's department, and one of the nordstrom entrances. The calorie count is normally listed on the menu in case you are dieting, or just want to be informed about the calories. I mainly stick with their delicious sandwiches and salads, but I hear that their pasta is pretty good as well. I am in love with their cilantro salad dressing that they have because of how refreshing and flavorful it is. Even though I doubt I would come out of my way to visit this restaurant, I believe it is the perfect option for diners seeking a quality meal during a visit to Oakbrook mall. read more

Our server, a very sweet lady with a most unusual name that I cannot recall, was willing to serve us grilled cheese from the Kids' Menu, if that be our choice. Choice of 2 soups. I mean, seriously, everything was spot on. It did not get loud as more people arrived, conversation friendly. Very comfortable seating in the booth. Tables available and seating at the bar. They've had some great additions/changes to the menu (but I seriously miss the fantastic Zucchini Carpaccio that the recently removed!), and I've never been left wanting. This risotto is unbelievable! The shrimp is sauteed to a crisp yet tender goodness and the risotto itself is just melt in your mouth creamy! I've also had the salmon ceasar salad, the chicken sandwich, their chicken tortilla soup, their salmon fillet with root veggies, and their skirt steak (I believe that's what it is). Hands down for the tasty food. I usually order take out. There are times I came few days in a row because the food was so good. Must try Penne Bolognese and Tomato Basil Soup. Both are rich and flavorful. Make sure you double check your food if you order take out. Wish they are more careful in packaging their food. It is very disappointing when you get home and find out one of your dish is missing. Also, ask for the bread if you want it for the soup or your entree (I believe some entrees came with bread too?), as they don't always pack it with the take out order.
