Grilled Wood-Grilled Idaho Rainbow Trout with Marble Potatoes and Herb Roasted Carrots
    Larry H.

The following is what me and my partner ordered on our last trip to season 52: Grilled Rainbow Trout Marble Potatoes Carrots. $26.50 Peach Riesling Mule. $13.00 Lobster Bisque Cup $10.00 Caesar Salad. $10.50 Add Skewer Shrimp $11.50 The food was delicious. The trout was prepared perfectly with the skin on. The carrots could have been cooked a little more to add more caramelization. The potatoes were nicely seasoned. The decor of the restaurant maybe be slightly dated like an older steakhouse but, it was fine. My partner pointed out that's the restaurant strives to have a healthy menu with low-calorie options. This makes the choices easier for me because I feel like I am eating healthy. They do have an amazing wine selection, which we did not partake in this trip. The service was good and the timing for everything worked out perfect.

I've eaten here a few times. Always good food. I had a ceasar salad and added the shrimp skewer. The shrimp could have a little more flavor, but still good. A cup of lobster bisque. I liked the corn & lobster on top. Delicious. My Moscow mule was delicious. My husband enjoyed his trout. Prepared perfectly. Our server was attentive. The place is huge. Decor is nice, not trendy. Love a place with so many healthy options.

Our first visit here was Saturday evening. For the most part, it was exactly as expected. Menu of clean veggies and meats. I was hoarse when we went so I had to order some tea. With the honey, the teas were pretty good. I did not try their wine or drinks so I cannot comment on them but the food was fine. My husband and I can already do a lot of clean eating so for me, most of the dishes on the menu, can be made in your own home.. so this season's menu isn't exactly what I would go to a restaurant for but it was fine to try.

Visited Seasons 52 as a group of 10 for a work holiday outing! They were able to easily accommodate our group size in a semi-private area. It was nice to be away from the general crowd so we could converse easier. Our group ordered a round of cocktails, wine, and beer. I got the New Old Fashioned which was ok. It was sweeter than I would expect and had a strong grenadine taste. Other favorites were the Peach Riesling Mule & Cranberry Sage. The wine selection is always amazing at Seasons 52 as it got awarded by Wine Spectator but has a decent mark up. For food, we started with sharing the Pesto Chicken & Mozzarella Flatbread and Roasted Mushroom Flatbread. Everyone loved the mushroom one and the chicken pesto was ok. For entrees, everyone ordered a mixture of item. I got the Seasonal Brick-Oven Gnocchi which I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The sauce was creamy but light. The gnocchi was pillowy and I enjoyed the tomato and mushroom pairing. Other standout dishes were the Sea Bass, Sea Scallops, and Pork Chop. Our server did a great job on continuously refilling water, checking in on our group, and dividing checks up by food and beverages.

Came here twice over the weekend for lunch since they have so many GF options. The first trip was a girls lunch. I ordered the blood orange margarita and the lunch combo with GF roasted tomato flatbread and cauliflower & aged white cheddar soup. The server was very accommodating for celiac. The 2nd time was for my friend's birthday. We had a bigger party and were able to book through Open Table. We sat in a semi-private room. The server brought a champagne toast and gave the birthday girl free dessert. I had the same GF flatbread and the black lentil GF pasta. Didn't really care for the black lentils but the pasta was good. They also have GF dessert options. Tried the turtle cheesecake and key lime pie. Both were delicious!

This is a really nice restaurant for high quality food. We ordered fillet mignon, lobster tails, sea bass and turkey dinner. The lobster tails are amazing especially with the hot butter that really is a great compliment to the steak. The Chilean sea bass was also very tasty. Atmospheres was excellent, restaurant was clean. We come here quite often and service is usually top notch. On this day however, our server was definitely rushing us and even gave us our check and we weren't even fine ordering all our deserts. Not the best service experience this time. Thank you

I tried both their happy hour and dinner. The ambience is casual without being too casual. You can dress up or down. Quality is very fresh which is fitting for its name. The happy hour was a value deal. I had the $14 Philly cheese steak flatbread and the Arnold Palmer. I was almost full. The mushroom risotto was creamy and delicious, but some of the rice was still a little raw. The mushroom with crabmeat appetizer came in a spinach cream sauce and was just right. The pork chop came with red cabbage. I asked for the porkchop to be medium and it came out juicy and tender, only slightly red by the bone. I would return for the porkchop again. Our server came at the right moments. When she saw that we were still catching up when diners were light on a weekday, she gave use plenty of time.

Service was lovely, ambiance was also upscale and serious. The food though, nothing to write home about. I was afraid to get a meal because I saw the reviews so I normally start with an appetizer and a side to see if we can get off on a good start before I spend all my good money on food thats not worth it. The shrimp flatbread was flavorful and tasty, just very thin. The Mac n cheese however, panera bread Mac n cheese beats it by a longshot and thats not good. It tasted like they poured cream over iron and then put a little bit of it over some noodles and then sprinkled crushed saltine crackers on top for show.

I dined at Seasons 52 for the first time while visiting Illinois. My team and I shared several appetizers, and the stuffed mushrooms and flatbread stood out as my top picks--they were fantastic. I enjoyed a glass of moscato with my meal and had the pork chop, which was delicious. I also sampled some of the macaroni and cheese. The service was excellent, and the ambiance added to the overall great experience.

The space is beautiful, though the tables are... let's just say neighborly. Great if you enjoy bonding with strangers, less great if you like a little elbow room. The menu is interesting and inviting. We started with the parmesan artichokes. Crunchy and satisfying, with nice pieces throughout, but a bit shy on flavor. It felt like it almost got to the party but stopped just outside the door. For mains, everyone genuinely enjoyed their dishes. I had the gnocchi della casa with porcini ragù. The gnocchi were soft, light, and pillowy, though just a touch dense and missing that subtle potato flavor that makes you close your eyes for a second. Not quite at the level of my mom's or grandma's (but let's be honest, nothing ever is). The mushroom sauce was tasty, though it leaned slightly vinegary. The pistachio-crusted whitefish was a standout. Perfectly crisp on the outside, flaky and tender on the inside. Definitely a win. The risotto of the day was creamy and comforting, but it felt like it was missing that little spark, that "something" that takes it from good to memorable. Drinks were a highlight. The Sicilian Negroni and Fields of Tuscany were both well-crafted and delicious. No notes there. For the price, it's a solid spot and worth experiencing at least once. Come for the energy, stay for the drinks, and maybe bring your best "I don't mind sitting close" attitude.

Our service was well paced and we had a wonderful server. We started out with drinks and went ahead to order. Their salads are very much so made to share. They have sides but the value for sharing is better. Any entree ordered comes with a side, which is great. I get very tired of these à la carte style menus at these prices. We shred a Greek Salad small, enough for two-three people. I also ordered the Romanian Skirt Steak and a side of Cottage Fries. The steaks are always cooked to my liking and have plenty of juice. The onions at a great sweetness and is delicious. The cottage fries are great, and the ranch accompanied with it is delicious. It's a bit salty, I do think Wildfire is heavy handed on the salt. They packed our food in containers, which is great. At a restaurant like this, I expect it to be packed for me, especially when I have juicy meals. And before you say, I could've gotten something else because this is a steakhouse. I did not want a steak and I came here on the recommendation of my family. Bison meatballs 5/10: the best part of this dish was the tomato sauce but I will say you get a decent portion. The meatballs lacked flavor but the tomato sauce helped Mediterranean chicken skewers 8/10: the chicken wasn't dry, but it lack flavor. The sauce was really good, but portion size is minimal. Angus burger 7/10: burger was cooked as requested and had decent flavor. The fries were also good. Chicken club 5/10: changed the cheese to Gouda and added red onions to the burger. The chicken was flavorless and a little dry the mayo mustard sauce really helps. The fries are really good and they have a nice barbecue sauce if you like fries with barbecue sauce. Pineapple margarita 7.5/10: didn't care for the salt on the rim but this didn't lack flavor and had decent amount of liquor. Martini flight 10/10: mango and apple are the best flavors but they're all pretty good. Nice to get if you want different martini flavors. Overall, I don't think I'd come back to this establishment. The service was very lackluster. The food was also not that great in my opinion.

Located in what used to be Anthony's, the Italian steakhouse, the ambiance is actually quite nice- but it's the service that needs some work. We stopped in after a meeting in the hotel for a drink with a small group. The space is nice- leather chairs clustered around tables in front of a fake fireplace. Murals on the walls, and a bar that stretches across the one wall. Even though there wasn't a big crowd on the night we were there- service was slow. We finally walked up to the bar to get our drinks. We ordered a snack of some chips and guac but it was disappointing as there wasn't enough guac to go with the quantity of chips provided. If you like a good martini- they've got them here- but no blue cheese olives which is a must in my book! It's a bar in a suburban hotel. I didn't expect much and that's what I got.

It looked harmless and we were mainly going for wine and to catch up with each other so I bought the certificate and off we went. The Den is located inside the Oak Brook Doubletree hotel and there is no indication from outside the hotel where the restaurant is so I punted as far as parking was concerned. Luckily, I picked the correct side of the hotel. At first glance, the inside of the restaurant is a little dated, but it was clean, cozy, and quiet. I was directed to pick any seat I wanted. Looking over the menu there were some affordable starters/small plates, and a decent selection of entrees (@ 5 non beef and 5 beef). The wine list was nothing special either in information or choice. I was going to start with a Pinot Noir, and asked about a particular Wine maker as nothing else was listed on the sheet besides the wine maker, appellation, variety and vintage. I knew that wine maker had several labels of Pinot Noir so I asked the server which they were pouring. He came back and said it wasn't listed on the bottle. I guess I could have asked to see the bottle, but it just seemed like too much work for me too. I went with it and it was fine. Started with a Caesar salad with no croutons. Not only were there no croutons, but the listed "crispy prosciutto" and cheese was missing. Whatever. I was STARVING and ate it without complaint. Next on the list was a cheese plate. The cheese plate was listed as having brie, blue and aged white cheddar, along with grapes, crackers and walnuts. What we got was a young yellow cheddar, some smoked gouda, and boursin cheese spread with crackers and dried cranberries. Again, i was using a gift certificate so I didn't want to make a fuss, but my sister and I brought it up to the server that basically nothing that was described on the plate was actually on the plate. Also mentioned the salad mistake too (might as well go for broke). He apologize and went back to the kitchen and see what was up. When he came back he apologize as he noticed the salad was incorrect but didn't do anything about it, and he also said that there were two different menus going on and the chef was working off a different menu. He then brought out a much bigger plate with a little brie, some blue cheese, what I think was a mild mexican cheese, and something that tasted like minibabybel. Still no cheddar. We ordered more wine, and got some olives and I ordered a rib-eye. The server suggested I get the all-you-can-eat NY strip, (thanks for bringing that up) but I still went with the rib-eye. While only 14 oz, it was decent and bone-in (which was a nice surprise) and I would think I great selling feature. For our third round of drinks, the server suggested a meritage they had. My sister stayed with the cab, but I tried it. It wasn't bad, but it was very warm. When we asked for the check, he brought it out and I noticed it was just under $100. I waited for him to come back and explained I had one of those $50 off it you spend $100 certificates and we would probably need to split another glass of wine. He explained that it would be no problem to just use the certificate now as he had not charged for the last round of drinks as a thank-you. That was really nice of him, but it was really something he should have addressed when he first dropped off the check..." hey folks, sorry for the inconveniences you've experienced. I got you a round of drinks. I hope you'll try us again." Overall, our server was nice, but he lacked presence on the floor. And there were only 5 tables at the most going on. Now I get that this is a hotel venue, so perhaps repeat business isn't a priority, but with better service and some quality control, I could see this place really taking off as an after-work location. As it is now, I would go back if someone else wanted to go, or if I had another gift certificate, but it definitely isn't on my list of "must go back" spots.
