This has become my new favorite restaurant for lunch. I have found the soups to be very tasty and always hot. My favorite dish for lunch is the open face hot beef. It is rare to find a place that serves real mashed potatoes. Their breakfast is very good and the food I at the right portion. The place is always clean even in the bathrooms which to me is a strong poor for a restaurant. The servers are always prompt and helpful when asked about the menu. I do notice they have a good number of regulars as the servers know them and what they want to drink right away. Do wish they weee open later and served dinner. read more

We were looking to change up our usual breakfast spot and stumbled upon Fork & Spoon Cafe. It was tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, but looked like there were lots of groups waiting for a table, which made us a little nervous about a long wait. When we put our name in, they gave us an estimate of 10/15 minutes for a table, but less than 5 minutes later, we were being led to our seats. Service was a tad slow, especially for a diner style breakfast, but the food was delicious. I would add Fork & Spoon Cafe to my go-to list of breakfast spots! read more

My wife and I went to Fork & Spoon for a Sunday breakfast. It's south of downtown Lemont and busy when we went but we were seated right away. Our waitress was nice but the food took awhile to get to us after ordering. Very prompt service and seating, even on a Saturday morning. The omelette I ordered was huge. However, it could do with a bit more flavor. Even though the Flamenco omelette was described as having spicy salsa on the side, it wasn't at all spicy and not particularly flavorful. So you'll leave with a full belly, but though the presentation is good, the food was just okay. It's possible their breakfast staples are better, but it just wasn't anything special. read more

I finally settled on the Banana Bread French Toast and WOW was it delicious. This is the perfect breakfast for anyone with a major sweet tooth!! Our waitress Kristin was very sweet and happened to know my dad from another restaurant. The owner/manager even came over to greet us. I am absolutely appalled by the service we got at fork and spoon Café! The food was absolutely terrible! It took forever to get seated! And it wasn't even worth the price! So if you're looking for a place to go eat, please just say yourself the problem and find a restaurant. What an awesome breakfast/lunch/brunch establishment in Lemont! I adore places that serve a lot of vegetarian options! I'm a lunch person and the husband is all about breakfast. Best of both worlds to be had here! I went with the Veggie Panini, as it's so difficult to find a good restaurant that caters to vegetarians. Fork and Spoon did not disappoint! Everything sounded so good that I felt conflicted on what to order. The husband went with the Avocado Scrambler, of course. My Panini came with soup and fries. I asked our waitress if the soup was vegetarian. She insisted it was. To be sure, I asked again verifying no beef or chicken base, was told no. However, it had that flavor when I tried it and so I didn't want to chance getting sick. It looked so fresh and homemade, though! Wish there was an easier way to figure out the truth. The Panini was absolutely delicious! It had an abundance of veggies such as yellow peppers, eggplant, and spinach with a garlic mayo kind of spread. So good! The fries came out fresh and seasoned. Yummers! My husband enjoyed his Scrambler and I couldn't agree more with the sample I did taste. So many veggies and avocados in a large portion! This is a very cute restaurant in the Jewel strip mall with great food. We ordered 2 skillets, country fried steak and a corn beef sandwich. Nobody had any complaints and the portions were really large. The country fried steak with gravy was hand breaded which seems to be hard for us to find lately and it was delicious. We had the cream of chicken soup and stuffed green pepper soup. I haven't had it in years and it really hit the spot. read more

One of our favorite restaurants! I placed a catering order this weekend for a brunch. The food was excellent. When I picked it up it was piping hot- still hot when I served it. Everyone raved how wonderful it was. Reasonably priced. We've always loved them for breakfast but now I love them for catering. Only suggestion would be if they had delivery for catering orders. And maybe a better way to carry them out. Was a little hot and they didn't have a box that fit the large catering tray. But was ready and handed to me the minute I showed up. I took a friend out to breakfast here for her birthday. We called in advance to avoid the "Sunday breakfast crowd " that they said usually started around 9:30. We arrived around 915, the place was bumping, and we were seated right away. I had two babies with me, so we ordered their meals right away. All was going smoothly at this point. The only turnoff was our waitress- she was extremely pushy and tried to take our order over 5 times in about 10 minutes. I was tending to my babies and trying to say hello to my friend before we ordered and at this point there wasn't even people waiting for a table so it felt very pushy. It was also obvious they had regulars, which is great, but staff was very attentive and more interested in those patrons. I usually enjoy the banter with the waitstaff and always appreciate their hard work, but she wasn't interested in us in the slightest. The food was amazing! The breakfast potatoes were the best I've ever had! They had so much flavor and you could see the spices in every bite. My kids had grilled cheese and pancakes- they were both very happy! My friend enjoyed the breakfast burrito and said it was quite tasty. I think next time we will order the food to go because it was that delicious. Coming in on a Saturday, of course it's busy, but it didn't feel like it because of how quick the turnaround was. It was packed but my boyfriend and I were in and out within 45 minutes. The server was very nice as well as the busboy that passed by asking if we needed to get rid of any plates. The food was great, I loved the chicken spinach Panini as well as the chicken dumpling soup it came with. The restaurant was very clean despite it being so busy. The only issue I had was I got the lavender lemonade mimosa and it just tasted like straight champagne, no lavender or lemonade. Fork & Spoon is a beautiful breakfast/brunch/lunch spot! Upon walking in you're met with beautiful tones of greys and yellows and the decor is a nice and gentle wakeup. Their menu is huge with so many options! I ordered the Country Skillet ($14) which had smoked sausage, green pepper, onion, pepper jack cheese & a side of sausage gravy. It came with a side of pancakes. It was absolutely delicious! Honestly, it tasted like your usual classic skillet but the gravy definitely elevated it for me. It also came with four eggs on top of the skillet. It did come as a pretty big portion and since it came with a side of pancakes I felt it was fair. I ate it so quickly I completely forgot to take a picture of my food. Service was excellent and our server was so sweet and kind! She didn't rush us one bit and was so nice to my friend's daughter. Me and my family have been coming here for years, since it opened. It is a great place to come in, not have to wait too long during busy weekend mornings. The kids always have a blast. Our waitress is always nice and accommodating. I'm really sad that our favorite server Alex left. She was the absolute best. The new servers are kind of stressed out and rushed. Came here for breakfast on a random weekday when I was visiting in town. This spot has been known for breakfast for a while now, although it's seemingly changed hands, names, and appearance a bit. It's a pretty standard breakfast type spot. A huge menu that includes just about everything you can think of, down to the chilaquiles and none of it is blow-your-mind original or just knocking it out of the park. It's a breakfast place. Like heading into IHOP or something similar, just with local smiles and friendly faces. It wasn't busy while I was there (maaaaaybe 1/3rd of the restaurant had patrons but that seems overly generous). The service was slow and the food came out barely more than lukewarm. It wasn't bad, just wasn't anything to really write home about (or even to upgrade on Yelp). Given the lack of great local options, it works well for the space, but they have a lot of potential, and they look super cute, so I'm hoping that they improve and thrive in this space. read more

Based on the breakfast meal I ached through this morning (5-29-21) I'm amazed that Fork & Spoon has an overall rating of four stars. Mine was the most mediocre breakfast I've had in a long, long time. Absolutely, a clean establishment and a friendly competent staff go a long way toward the enjoyment of a meal, but the food must back them up. I need to start getting used to the higher prices being charged for breakfast, not just at Fork & Spoon but everywhere. For whatever reason, high prices after Covid 19 are the norm. My wife ordered the Eggs On Toast. Scrambled egg(s), bacon and American cheese on a croissant with a choice of potatoes. $9.50. Not being a fan of breakfast spuds she asked to substitute a cup of fresh fruit. Done. It dawned on me after we left that I paid $13.00 for her sandwich. It didn't dawn on her that the potatoes were not a substitutable item. She was charged $3.50 for the fruit, didn't receive any potatoes or a credit towards them. She ate the fruit and half of the sandwich and took the rest home. The server really should have said something. I ordered the Western Omelet, easy on the peppers and onions, pancakes instead of toast and, on the server's recommendation, hash browns instead of diced potatoes, asking for crispy or "well done" hash browns. Service was relatively quick but while the omelet was hot and flavorful throughout, the hash browns were as limp as they could possibly be with no kind of crispness and ranging in temperature from barely lukewarm to cool. To match the potatoes the pancakes were cool and rubbery. You know how you put warm butter on your hot pancakes and it melts and disappears into said cakes? Not here. That room temp butter just sat and watched me as I ate the eggs and picked at the spuds. I think the pancakes and butter even laughed and waved goodbye as we got up to leave. Yeah, that's right, the pancakes went uneaten. $11.00 for what? I said to myself I wouldn't get ticked off or even act disappointed. Why ruin the morning for my wife and myself. As I paid the check the cashier asked if everything was okay. Answering honestly and without attitude I replied that I was disappointed, and went on to quickly relate my experience. I must have caught her off guard as she remained silent for a moment then simply said "okay". By the way, I made sure there were no other patrons next to me. And no, I wasn't expecting a free meal because of it, I just felt they should know, but there obviously was no interest on her part so I let it go and left. read more

The soup was a typical greek restaurant cream based chicken soup. The prices are on par with the trend of the breakfast restaurants whom overcharge for the meal provided. If you are in the neighborhood and want an average breakfast resturant you should go. If you want something unique keep those thumbs scrolling. read more
