French onion soup and the steak frites were both excellent and priced well IMO. They have a really good whiskey/bourbon selection with a few hard to find bottles. I settled on a Blantons neat. They had Pappy, but I'm not wasting money on that anymore. Food came out quickly and we ate and watched a baseball game. The locals at the bar told us about their membership program where I guess for a small mo they fee you get a bottle of wine and a charcuterie plate once a month. Seemed like a pretty good deal. I don't live anywhere near there, but if I did I'd certainly join. In any case, if you live anywhere close, this is definitely a worthwhile restaurant to visit. Honestly, that part is completely understandable since we were late and they operate on more of a first-come, first-served basis. Once we were seated, though, the service became quite disappointing. It took a while for our drinks to arrive, and then we waited about 20 minutes just to have our food order taken. From the time we sat down, it was roughly another 20-30 minutes before the food actually arrived. What made the wait even more disappointing was that the restaurant was not busy at all. There were only about three other tables with customers, so we really couldn't understand why everything was taking so long. With that kind of wait, we were really hoping the food would make up for it, but unfortunately it fell short. Some of the dishes were noticeably over-seasoned and salty. The milanesa tortas were tough and chewy, and definitely not something I would order again. I would also skip the rice and beans. The burrito was probably the best thing we tried and was decent. The kids' tacos were also disappointing the tortilla was very greasy and the meat was quite salty and chewy. One other thing worth mentioning is the additional charges. For parties of 6 or more, they automatically add a 20% gratuity, and if you pay with a credit card, there is an additional 3.5% credit-card fee.
