Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Panang Red Curry
    Sarah C.

we ordered for pickup and everything was pretty smooth, except it seemed like there wasn't really a server going around attending to customers..? I picked up my food from staff directly in the (open) kitchen. food was quite average. we got the Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, and Beef Panang Red Curry. all the rice were mushy and overcooked. the pad thai was bland and kind of hard. the curry was decent and gave lots of beef.

Trust your server! My friend and I had no idea what we wanted to eat so we gave the server these parameters: curry with beef, something mostly vegetables but without curry, soup. You can tell from the pictures that everything was pleasing to the eye, but the bad thing is that I lost my receipt so I can't list the names of the dishes, but everything was so flavorful and each dish was distinct so we were so glad to have trusted our server and for a fun experience, you might want to do the same. We loved the clean, quiet, well decorated atmosphere with lovely Thai art and a fun pic of Guy Fieri's visit. Even the bathroom was decorated nicely. Can hardly wait to return!

The food is excellent it balances savory with functional heat and they are not stingy with the portions If you eat with your eyes first then you will be full before you ever take a bite. The service was excellent and very attentive. Restaurant is is not very big but it is clean and cozy. I am coming back here soon and you should definitely check this place out.

10/10. Easily one of the best Thai spots I've ate here in Phoenix. Staff was super nice. Met with a friend and randomly decided to go here, so glad we did.

Came at lunch time on a Wednesday. It was not busy. We opted to sit outside because it was a nice October day and it was pretty loud inside. The good: The food had amazing flavor. I had Beef Kiewan. It was a good portion. Nice and spicy but not too spicy, and had two kinds of eggplant. It came with a spring roll, which was standard but tasty. The ok: the green beans seemed a little undercooked. Service was pretty nonexistent. After dropping off the food no one came back until we were done and ready for the check. The water didn't taste great - like melted ice. Still giving it 4 stars because the food was tasty and I'd go back and try other things.

The FAT One with tofu, spice level hot

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I met up with a group of people here for dinner one evening and we were seated outside on the patio, which felt intimate as no other groups were dining out there at the same time. Even though it is the summer, it felt comfortable out there as the sun set and the misters kicked in. Our server was wonderful and handled our large party with understanding and grace, splitting our checks and making sure our waters were full. I started with the fresh rolls appetizer with tofu. These had a beautiful presentation and the quantity was good. The peanut sauce was so tasty, I could have easily used another one. The rolls were fresh as advertised, but a bit boring without any sauce. For my entree, I ordered the fat ones dish: fat rice noodles, spicy chili-garlic, basil, broccoli, carrots, sweet onions and snow peas. Again, presentation was lovely as the colors of the veggies were bright and appealing. Spice level was accurate as well, definitely spicy. However, the dish was missing more flavor, would've loved some sauce to add to it. Portion size was not as big as I expected after seeing my companions' dishes and I had no leftovers. I had an enjoyable dinner here with my group and service was excellent.

Very interesting spot. We actually pulled into their parking lot to look for somewhere to eat. Decided to give it a shot. We sat outside - it was a bit noisy but our friend and my husband wanted to sit outside so there we sat . Service was great, everyone takes care of everyone. We didn't have a chance to need for anything. They were on top of it. Hubby had the Volcano said it may reminded him of a lettuce wrap you would get at PF Changs except with a nice kick. He said it had the perfect amount of heat and really liked it. My friend ordered the Broccoli Beef and she it was very tasty - she picked around it so I am hoping she was honest. She is very nice and doesn't complain much. The sticky rice is super sticky and my husband said it was delicious - so pretty authentic and everything is presented beautifully. If you do not like cilantro be sure to ask them to not put it on anything - they added it to everything. I hate Cilantro and it's not advertised on the menu that they garnish everything with it. I ordered an appetizer that was wrapped in paper and had veggies and chicken. The peanut sauce wasn't my thing, so the waitress suggested the plum sauce - wayyyy too sweet so the waiter suggested a vinegar like sauce. Did the trick as the chicken was super dry. Everyone was pleasantly surprised with the food. My husband said his pork dish was very fresh. One thing I would check is to see if they have MSG in their food. Could be a coincidence but I ended up within a migraine in about 30 minutes after having dinner.

Chill lil thai spot we grabbed before we went to the Heard Museum. Lunch special pricing was great and the portion sizes fit the bill. Overall nothing crazy, just normal Thai food. Not bad.

The atmosphere was pleasant and we enjoyed dinning here for lunch. My brother and sister in law loves to eat here every time they visit Arizona. This was our first time and we really enjoyed it. The food is great... they offer different levels of spice to your dish. You can tell that everything is made fresh to order and I like that. You will definitely enjoy this restaurant if you're ever in Arizona. We will definitely dine here again when we return. Our waitress was very nice.

Fat One (I think) w/ Chicken

So yummy! A little gem. The Mu Yang was delicious. The pork was perfect, the sticky rice was soooo good, and I loved their papaya salad. I could eat this everyday, it was so fresh, light, and tasty. My friend got one of the noodle dishes with chicken - I think The Fat One - and he got it spicy. They truly make things spicy here so be aware if you're ordering :) he loved it and orders it often. The dragon eggs were also yummy! We got half crispy and half steamed. Love the sauce they came with. I could've eaten them all myself easily. I think the inside is super cute. It's nothing fancy, but they have a great patio for when the weather is nice. We didn't get any drinks but they do have a full bar. Service was great too. Can't wait to go back!

Food was good, not great, but very pleasant. Greeter and server were attentive and fast. Drinks were flavorful. I enjoyed the meal and appetizers. Although I'd suggest having the dragon eggs fried, not steamed.

Pad Thai with fried tofu - gluten free ! So yummy
    Jorey C.

Love this place! Very nice interior, we were asked if we wanted a table or booth, which I appreciated. The menu specified which dishes are gluten free (yay). I asked if the other dishes could be modified gluten free and she said no, which I was disappointed because usually they can be modified. But those dishes are probably with pre prepared sauces. I did appreciate there was a specific gluten free pad Thai and that's what I ordered (with fried tofu). I will say this is one of my favorite pad Thais I've had in a long time. It was a huge portion, came out steaming hot, the tofu was so good. The sauce was not too sweet which I have experienced at other places. The food came out so fast as well. There are cute candies up front for the taking too. A nice way to end a meal! Will be back

24K-grilled mahi mahi, eggplant, Thai pumpkin, green beans in Thai green curry
    Melissa B.

After 20 years of food and drink served in downtown Phoenix need I say more?? Stepping into this cozy laid back atmosphere the unique decor sets the stage as a large hand painted picture of the face of The Wild Thaiger watches over the restaurant making sure everyone's happy!! Now you're in for some wonderful flavors! It was a very busy Friday night at 6pm. A special viewing event of Triple D's showcasing his second time around visiting TWT with so many regular patrons. It took a few minutes before we were seated at the bar which over looks the open kitchen concept. I enjoy watching the organized madness. I had the lychee martini which was garnished with a piece of lychee fruit. It was not too sweet and had that unique lychee flavor I expected. I decided to pair it with the 24K. Grilled Mahi Mahi posing against a sculptured bowl of Jasmine rice, eggplant, fresh green beans, and Thai pumpkin bathing in green Thai curry sauce. As sauces do, the curry brought everything together with a slight bit of heat and sweetness. I couldn't stop eating and proceeded to slowly savor a whole plate of food which never happens!! My husband had beef fried rice. He asked for Thai peppers and he too couldn't stop eating. Dessert was the layered lemon cake. The perfect amount of lemon in the cake and frosting. Perfectly sweetened llemony milky glaze not a buttercream frosting...and nothing but moist and fluffy cake!! Other dessert options of sticky with mango and must try homemade coconut ice cream. TWT was my first taste of Thai cuisine 20 years ago and has never disappointed!! The owners Ola and Dave are the neighborhood favorites always giving their 100%

The staff here are so kind it really made the experience of having to wait a bit so much better! The gentleman at the front door recommended a wine bar around the corner to wait at after we got on the list, which was a cute divey spot. The food was delicious, we loved the papaya salad so much, there were so many flavors of spicy and tangy, and the papaya itself was very refreshing. We had the Pad kee mao and Panang curry which were also delicious. For the chicken pad kee mao we requested it to be gluten free and they gave us the same rice noodles as the Pad Thai and a slightly different sauce which was so darn good! The chicken was very tender. When the Panang curry said it came with beef, I didn't know what to think but after a single bite I was a huge fan! So many flavors hit you at once and the beef was so incredible, it was falling part. I also ordered the savory cocktail option (I can't remember the name) which had cucumber vodka, fish sauce, mint, onion, and some other goodies, and wow! It changed my life. Highly highly recommend. Overall would definitely come back here, we were a walk in on a Saturday night and had an hour and a half wait to get in.

We started with the creamy, coconut-infused Yam Mamuang Boran (green mango salad), and food came FAST from there. Some standouts for me included: - Ba Mee Moo Dang (BBQ pork egg noodles) - Pla Rad Prik Sam Rot (fried branzino) - Tom Kha Gai (coconut chicken soup) - Tom Yum Haeng Sen Yai (wide rice noodles) All of these had a beautiful balance of acidity, savoriness, spice, and herbs in one dish with tender meat. But everything together really hit well. For example, the bok choy was a light break between super savory curries and fried wings (HUGE fan of the marinade on these). I also enjoyed getting to share dishes I wouldn't normally order a la carte, like the Naw Tawt (fried bamboo). The staff members made sure to ask about allergies and spice tolerances and thoroughly explained each dish as it was served. We actually ended up paying slightly less than the estimated $55/person for 12 dishes (before drinks) -- and we realized we got an extra serving of the chicken wings at no charge. Love the pork belly and with crispy skin! Love the curry too but it was a little too salty, you have to eat this with rice. 7) TOM YUM HAENG SEN YAI: stir fry noodle: love the tom yum flavor, my favorite dish as well! 8) HOI SHAE NAM PLA: scallop, love this dish! As a proud Yelp Elite, I decided to give this place a chance because the reviews were the best I saw in the city! The place was busy on a Sunday night and it is small but I never say customers waiting too long. There were two larger parties seated so the food took some time but nothing outrageous. We started with the calamari, spring rolls, and crab wontons. The calamari were the biggest I've ever seen and very delicious! Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the spring rolls or crab wontons. I feel like those are hard to get wrong but I was not a fan of the cream cheese that was used and it was a lot of it, barely any imitation crab. For entrees, I had the spicy basil and substituted ground chicken for chicken breast, my personal preference. I ordered level 2 spice but it was still a bit spicy for me. Trying a new Thai place is always hit or miss with spice levels so I actually thought I was being safe with 2. Additionally, the chicken was so bland. Some Thai places season their chicken, some do not and unfortunately Pad Thai Cafe missed that mark. My partner ordered the short rib curry dish and my goodness, it smelled like heaven and tasted just as good. I don't eat beef but had to taste it and it was divine! He also ordered spice level 2 and his dish was not as spicy as mine. Overall, the rest of the party enjoyed their food and there were good flavors there so I'd definitely recommend the entrees, not so much the starters.
