It was delicious. It was built Jenga-style with fried tofu sticks and surrounded by sweet chili sauce, diced cucumber, and peanut crumbles. The presentation of my pad Thai was so pretty. It had shredded cabbage and bean sprouts at the end of the noodles with spiralized beet and cilantro. Love this place. And will go back when I'm in this area again. read more

I was really excited to try this place after seeing it on DDD. Dragon eyes were just ok, nothing special like they were portrayed on the show. Still good though. Phad Thai was less than great. Great menu with lots of choices of delicious food at reasonable prices. We started with 2 versions of Dragon Eggz. We had deep fried and steamed which are dumplings filled with pork, shrimp and crab meat in a tangy sauce with thinly sliced jalapeños wheels. The volcano wrap is explosive. It's usually my go-to Thai dish, and I loved their version - extremely flavorful instead of just tasting like a soy sauce gravy. The interior is beautiful as well. This is the real deal. I ordered a Pad Kra Pao off the lunch menu and inhaled it before taking a picture. I might have gone overboard with the Prik Nam Pla but it was fantastic. The restaurant is modestly sized with a nice covered patio outside doubling their seating. The staff were attentive and my lunch order was up really fast. We were planning a trip to Arizona DJ decided to make a list of places we wanted to eat at with Wild Thaiger being one of them. Let me tell you, the food did not disappoint. I had the Candy Chicken and my husband had the Mi Yang. After trying each other's dishes, we were pleased by the variety of flavors in each dish. The service was great with the servers tag-teaming all the tables to make sure every guest was taken care of. Some from the kitchen even served plates if the servers were busy. This used to be a favorite place for my husband and I about 10 years ago. We found ourselves in the area recently and were excited to have lunch there again. Wow, what a difference in service and food now! We ordered the dragon eggs (steamed), and a noodle dish that had a chili pepper next to it (indicating spicy), and I even asked to make it extra spicy because I've been craving some good Thai chili lately. The food was so very bland. Once we got the food, the server never came back to ask how it was, so I helped myself to some chili paste I saw at the server's station, and it helped a bit. We had ordered a drink and the waitress came by with it when we were finished with our food and we were ready to go so we just asked her to take it off the bill. There was only 1 other table at the time and a man at the bar getting takeout, by the way. Even the presentation of the food has dropped a lot....it used to be a little more artsy looking and this time it looked like it was just thrown on the plate. We were disappointed and sad, because there aren't a ton of Thai restaurants in Phoenix We are hoping this is a one time occurrence and we might give it one more try, but we sure miss the previous experiences that we had. read more

Overall had a fairly good experience ordering takeout from this restaurant. I ordered the chicken pad Thai and mango sticky rice (both to split). I felt the portions were very generous and well worth the price. The only complaints are that I found the dish didn't have a lot of chicken or peanuts/seasoning (granted we ordered mild), it was mostly noodles and bean sprouts. Finally was able to cross Wild Thaiger off my list, I remember seeing the episode of Triple D and it's been on my list for so long! Overall it was a good experience. Some dishes were delicious, and some were just ok. Definitely try the chicken satay (not pictured) it was some of the best I've ever had, the 24k vegetable curry, and the Mu Yang were also favorites of the meal. The one thing I will note was that we went on a Wednesday night assuming it wouldn't be busy and we were wrong, it was incredibly busy, and there wasn't a host in site so we were waiting at the door for a while to be greeted/seated. Not sure if they were short staffed, but several servers just walked by without even acknowledging us. I'm giving this a 4/5 because the service was really great & they are really good at refilling your water when they see it low (most places don't see the importance in that but it makes a big difference). I asked for a HOT pad Thai. Our server checked twice with me that I wanted Hot level and I said yes. My food unfortunately came out very mild & didn't have much flavor that I had to ask for additional chili sauce on the side. Unless you park at your own risk. For the parking, it's located at the back of the restaurant. Service: in my opinion, the service sucked and the waitress were unfriendly. Although the restaurant was empty, they didn't care to ask if we need additional water or anything else. Menu: different than other thai restaurant. I wanted to order thai fried rice. The waitress asked me what is that. Ha ha. We're at the thai restaurant, right? And they don't have thai fried rice. Inside: it was nicely decorated. Don't be fooled by how the outside of the building or bumpy parking lot looks. She told us order directly from the menu. We did exactly as the madame told us to do. We ordered pad sie ew with shrimp. Two small shrimp cost is $3. In California,we are spoilt. We would have got more for that much money. And they charge $0.50 for thai chillies. Again in California, it's free. . Serving size was a bit less than what I would have liked but incorporating the price into the decision, I think it was very fair. Service was incredibly fast and friendly. Went here before a show at Phoenix Theater nearby. Was blown away by the quality. I'm not a seafood fan since I dislike the "fishy" aftertaste, but I'll always try a restaurant's best dish even if it has seafood. The Dragon Eggz dumplings with crab, shrimp, and pork was incredible. The crispness and sauce was perfection. These were the best dumplings I've had in Arizona since Glain Baan. The Volcano Wrap had an incredible sauce as well and we devoured it. For a drink, I drank fresh coconut water from a young coconut. For my entree, I had the beef Panang with added veggies (extra $2 for the veggies but worth it). This definitely ranks as some of the best beef Panang I've ever had. My girlfriend had the Mi Dang which I tried and was also flavorful and tasty. The presentation of the food, the atmosphere, and the taste were all first-rate here. The prices were fair too for two people at a "fancy" restaurant. Parking was plentiful as there's a nice big parking lot adjacent. For a state lacking in a lot of quality Asian food, Wild Thaiger is a treasure. read more

I called for takeout and ordered the beef panang curry and chicken satay skewers. The waiter told me the food would be ready in 25 mins., which was fine. When I arrived about 20 mins later, the food was ready. However, the waitress who took my payment confirmed my order: beef panang curry and beef satay. When I informed her that I had ordered chicken satay, her disappointment was visible and she responded by stating that I ordered the beef skewers and that's what they had prepared. I didn't want to bother waiting another 25 mins for my food, so I just took the beef satay. As I was walking out, I noticed a sign that said to double check your takeout order because no refunds would be given for incorrect orders. So maybe incorrect orders are a common occurrence there? Either way, if you do order takeout I'd suggest confirming the order on the phone and then re-confirming and checking the food before leaving. Despite receiving the incorrect order, the food was delicious. The curry was a little on the saltier side and had a nice little kick of spiciness. The beef satay was well-seasoned and very tender. We were craving Thai food and we saw that this place was on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives so we were excited to give it a try. It was a busy Thursday night dinner and the floor was extremely understaffed -- the hostesses were cleaning/rearranging tables and delivering check to customers in between seating people. Granted, the place is small, but there were only two other actual servers taking orders and running the entire floor. This was just the beginning of a sadly disappointing night here. We ordered the fresh rolls for an appetizer, chicken pad Thai and the Thaiger Ribs with Thai tea. The fresh rolls came out quickly and while I thought it was a generous serving size for an appetizer and for the price, the fresh rolls were bland. The side sauce that came with it was overdone and was outside the traditional peanut sauce that usually comes with it. The rest of our food came 25 mins after our appetizer came out, which we thought was a little long but we waited patiently anyway. This pad Thai was very much forgettable -- in fact, it lacked flavor. It came in a huge, beautifully presented plate but there was nothing more to it. The Thaiger ribs were overdone to the point that the meat was tough and hard to chew. Again, the side sauce that came with it was unfitting and did not complement the BBQ sauce of the ribs. We didn't finish our meals and were very disappointed. We had to get the staff's attention so we could get our checks and leave, which still added another 10-15 mins. The only reason I'm not giving this place a one star is because the few staff that we encountered on the floor were great even if they were under extreme stress. This Thai restaurant is okay, not great. It's not all that traditional, seems that it caters to American palates. The menu is quite limited, and the portions are big. They will not have personal servings of many things, including soups, and spring rolls. The peanut sauce is so diluted it doesn't even taste like peanut, they will not bring sauces or anything else to your table. The servers are not helpful nor kind at all. The pineapple rice(tropical rice) which use to be my favorite, is awful. But I guess I'll give this restaurant an okay, because... well, I haven't found anything better in the valley. read more

I ate with two others and we split the Dragon Eggz for an appetizer. Each bite was a different flavor full of delectable tastes. We did a mix of boiled and fried (highly recommend doing that unless you have a preference). I solely ate the Galee Gai, which was just the right amount of kick for a yellow curry dish.
