This was nice. Service is a tad tepid but we did come late. The place looks nice, honestly outside looks better than inside. As for the food, the tom yum fried rice is excellent. Great flavors, sadly mild heat. But I would get that against if I were ever in Phoenix. The tom kha is a great portion to eat as a shared appetizer and there's a bunch of everything in there. I think their Dragon Eggs would be a lot better if the crispy version was served with sauce to the side, but they do them. Pad Thai was good. But marks for this is that everything is so affordable.
Trust your server! My friend and I had no idea what we wanted to eat so we gave the server these parameters: curry with beef, something mostly vegetables but without curry, soup. You can tell from the pictures that everything was pleasing to the eye, but the bad thing is that I lost my receipt so I can't list the names of the dishes, but everything was so flavorful and each dish was distinct so we were so glad to have trusted our server and for a fun experience, you might want to do the same. We loved the clean, quiet, well decorated atmosphere with lovely Thai art and a fun pic of Guy Fieri's visit. Even the bathroom was decorated nicely. Can hardly wait to return!
Service was quick, great food and great portion size, quiet ambiance and close to the Phoenix Theater.
The food is excellent it balances savory with functional heat and they are not stingy with the portions If you eat with your eyes first then you will be full before you ever take a bite. The service was excellent and very attentive. Restaurant is is not very big but it is clean and cozy. I am coming back here soon and you should definitely check this place out.
Came at lunch time on a Wednesday. It was not busy. We opted to sit outside because it was a nice October day and it was pretty loud inside. The good: The food had amazing flavor. I had Beef Kiewan. It was a good portion. Nice and spicy but not too spicy, and had two kinds of eggplant. It came with a spring roll, which was standard but tasty. The ok: the green beans seemed a little undercooked. Service was pretty nonexistent. After dropping off the food no one came back until we were done and ready for the check. The water didn't taste great - like melted ice. Still giving it 4 stars because the food was tasty and I'd go back and try other things.

I met up with a group of people here for dinner one evening and we were seated outside on the patio, which felt intimate as no other groups were dining out there at the same time. Even though it is the summer, it felt comfortable out there as the sun set and the misters kicked in. Our server was wonderful and handled our large party with understanding and grace, splitting our checks and making sure our waters were full. I started with the fresh rolls appetizer with tofu. These had a beautiful presentation and the quantity was good. The peanut sauce was so tasty, I could have easily used another one. The rolls were fresh as advertised, but a bit boring without any sauce. For my entree, I ordered the fat ones dish: fat rice noodles, spicy chili-garlic, basil, broccoli, carrots, sweet onions and snow peas. Again, presentation was lovely as the colors of the veggies were bright and appealing. Spice level was accurate as well, definitely spicy. However, the dish was missing more flavor, would've loved some sauce to add to it. Portion size was not as big as I expected after seeing my companions' dishes and I had no leftovers. I had an enjoyable dinner here with my group and service was excellent.
we ordered for pickup and everything was pretty smooth, except it seemed like there wasn't really a server going around attending to customers..? I picked up my food from staff directly in the (open) kitchen. food was quite average. we got the Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Pad Thai, and Beef Panang Red Curry. all the rice were mushy and overcooked. the pad thai was bland and kind of hard. the curry was decent and gave lots of beef.
10/10. Easily one of the best Thai spots I've ate here in Phoenix. Staff was super nice. Met with a friend and randomly decided to go here, so glad we did.
Very interesting spot. We actually pulled into their parking lot to look for somewhere to eat. Decided to give it a shot. We sat outside - it was a bit noisy but our friend and my husband wanted to sit outside so there we sat . Service was great, everyone takes care of everyone. We didn't have a chance to need for anything. They were on top of it. Hubby had the Volcano said it may reminded him of a lettuce wrap you would get at PF Changs except with a nice kick. He said it had the perfect amount of heat and really liked it. My friend ordered the Broccoli Beef and she it was very tasty - she picked around it so I am hoping she was honest. She is very nice and doesn't complain much. The sticky rice is super sticky and my husband said it was delicious - so pretty authentic and everything is presented beautifully. If you do not like cilantro be sure to ask them to not put it on anything - they added it to everything. I hate Cilantro and it's not advertised on the menu that they garnish everything with it. I ordered an appetizer that was wrapped in paper and had veggies and chicken. The peanut sauce wasn't my thing, so the waitress suggested the plum sauce - wayyyy too sweet so the waiter suggested a vinegar like sauce. Did the trick as the chicken was super dry. Everyone was pleasantly surprised with the food. My husband said his pork dish was very fresh. One thing I would check is to see if they have MSG in their food. Could be a coincidence but I ended up within a migraine in about 30 minutes after having dinner.
Chill lil thai spot we grabbed before we went to the Heard Museum. Lunch special pricing was great and the portion sizes fit the bill. Overall nothing crazy, just normal Thai food. Not bad.
The atmosphere was pleasant and we enjoyed dinning here for lunch. My brother and sister in law loves to eat here every time they visit Arizona. This was our first time and we really enjoyed it. The food is great... they offer different levels of spice to your dish. You can tell that everything is made fresh to order and I like that. You will definitely enjoy this restaurant if you're ever in Arizona. We will definitely dine here again when we return. Our waitress was very nice.
Wild Thaiger was more-or-less in the heart of Downtown Phoenix. The restaurant served traditional and unique food choices. The Pad Thai was presented well, the flavor was good, but leaned on the drier side. The Dragon Eggs tasted great and had a nice kick! I would compare the dessert to any typical dessert at a sit-down restaurant. Service was good and the inside of the restaurant was just fine.
So yummy! A little gem. The Mu Yang was delicious. The pork was perfect, the sticky rice was soooo good, and I loved their papaya salad. I could eat this everyday, it was so fresh, light, and tasty. My friend got one of the noodle dishes with chicken - I think The Fat One - and he got it spicy. They truly make things spicy here so be aware if you're ordering :) he loved it and orders it often. The dragon eggs were also yummy! We got half crispy and half steamed. Love the sauce they came with. I could've eaten them all myself easily. I think the inside is super cute. It's nothing fancy, but they have a great patio for when the weather is nice. We didn't get any drinks but they do have a full bar. Service was great too. Can't wait to go back!
We've been wanting to try this place since the first time we saw it on Diners Drive-ins and Dives. Service was great. And many of the items featured on DDD are highlighted on the menu. The Dragon Eggs are excellent and are one of their signature items. The Satay sampler is also very good. The chicken is not at all dry and the seasoning is delicious. Very reasonable prices and a lot of food. Looking forward to going back and trying many of the other tasty items on the menu. read more

Finally got back to this spot! Used to frequent the location in Scottsdale until they closed, so I was happy to be in this part of town for lunch today. Had the fried tofu tower as an appetizer. It was delicious. It was built Jenga-style with fried tofu sticks and surrounded by sweet chili sauce, diced cucumber, and peanut crumbles. The presentation of my pad Thai was so pretty. It had shredded cabbage and bean sprouts at the end of the noodles with spiralized beet and cilantro. Love this place. And will go back when I'm in this area again. read more
I was really excited to try this place after seeing it on DDD. Dragon eyes were just ok, nothing special like they were portrayed on the show. Still good though. Phad Thai was less than great. I give it a C at best. The fried chicken dish I enjoyed had spiced whiskey in it and was fantastic! Same goes for the cat fish. Service was really great and overall I would give it a solid B. read more

I'm a solid lover of Thai food, but not so much Thai spice lol. I'm also a casual watcher of DDD on Food Network so I saw the perfect opportunity to try Wild Thaiger. I was in the Phoenix area for leisure, and while this restaurant did not seem like it was in the nicest area, I did not encounter any issues with parking (in the back of the restaurant), or any safety issues. Once we walked in, we were seated pretty instantly as there was open seating. We opted to share our order and we ordered a papaya salad, the famous dragon eggs, and a seafood curry as we originally wanted Pad See Ew, but they were out of the flat noodles. How can a Thai restaurant be out of flat noodles, I have no idea! Anyway, our appetizers came out first and we got both steamed and crispy dragon eyes to try. I personally like the crispy one more, even though many reviews like the steamed ones. It's unfortunately that there's so little as they were tasty, but it almost was like a glorified shumai too lol. Next came our papaya salad which was really the let down of the meal. The papaya itself was fresh, but the flavor of the fish sauce was really lacking. I get disappointed when papaya salad isn't made well as it's supposed to be a staple for Thai establishments, so I definitely would not order this again. Our seafood curry was tasty, but a bit on the pricey side. Overall, for 2 people, it's not enough food to share as the portions were quite small, so it's best to order two main dishes. I would probably come back; however, I'll stick to the famous Guy Fieri's tested tastings lol. read more

We came here because it was featured on Triple D. We got most of Guy Fieri recommendations. We did have lettuce wraps and Dragon eggs for appetizer. They were both good. My favorite was the fried Dragon Egg. Super yum. For dinner we had the Mi Dang, Veggie Tofu Pad Thai, and Holy basil Chicken. It was a hard choice. We felt there were many things on the menu that looked delicious. The veggie pad Thai was the best I've ever had. The tofu was perfect the veggies were perfect. Not too sweet just spicy enough. I would order this 10 times if I could. Everything was very good. read more

I ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken which came with the flat noodles, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, topped with cilantro and roasted peanuts. It's usually my go-to Thai dish, and I loved their version - extremely flavorful instead of just tasting like a soy sauce gravy. The interior is beautiful as well. Nice finishes, tiger art, an aquarium, even the restrooms are finished nicely. However, prices are a little high and service was average. The place was half full and service was not attentative. Maybe they were understaffed? They also seemed stressed. read more

Some of the best Thai food this side of the pacific. They put a fresh twist on crab angels, only deep frying the shell and lumping seafood and avocado inside. Yum! Dishes are limited but targeted to ones with the most flavor. Pick anything you wont be disappointed. Thai tea and Thai coffee available. Always bonus points. Although its a bit sweet. Atmosphere is calm and clean. Your in for a treat. Try mango rice for desert if you never have before. read more

Yummy food...I had a late dinner and my order was "Dragon Eggz" (half steamed and half fried), papaya salad, side order of spring roll and delicious mango sticky rice for dessert. The service was great and the attention I received from the waitress and the chef had nothing else to wish for. The food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time, and the overall experience was smooth and relaxing. Even though the food ordered was not a typical dinner one would eat, I can tell that they used quality ingredients...also, the flavor of the food prepared here was excellent! read more

Waited so long to try it here. Don't know why. It is amazing!!! We were welcomed so kindly on a busy Weds night. Sat down in a booth and brought some water. Ordered the 4 beers in a bucket for $12!! Then onto the appetizer. Ordered the Dragon Eggz. Half fried half steamed. Fried are much better! Imagine that. Then dinner. I had the seafood Panang Curry. Husband had the Guy Fieti dish. Pork Skewers with sticky rice and veggies. Omg..... this food was amazing!! Shame on us for not going sooner to this Gem. Can't wait to return. read more

Finally was able to cross Wild Thaiger off my list, I remember seeing the episode of Triple D and it's been on my list for so long! Overall it was a good experience. Some dishes were delicious, and some were just ok. Definitely try the chicken satay (not pictured) it was some of the best I've ever had, the 24k vegetable curry, and the Mu Yang were also favorites of the meal. The one thing I will note was that we went on a Wednesday night assuming it wouldn't be busy and we were wrong, it was incredibly busy, and there wasn't a host in site so we were waiting at the door for a while to be greeted/seated. Not sure if they were short staffed, but several servers just walked by without even acknowledging us. But other than that the service was good once we were seated and we'd come back to try some other items on the menu read more
My friend wanted to go out and try this place. They were very cautious and sanitary. We had the shrimp pad Thai 5/5, Thai tea and the dragon eggs. Now let's talk about this hot pot, it was AMAZING!!!!! I can't wait to go back, we will be returning very soon. The service was great, the food was great, the portions were great! read more

I was really excited to try this place out because I've lived close to this place for 15 years and I never checked it out until now. It was my best friends birthday so we went there for dinner. I'm giving this a 4/5 because the service was really great & they are really good at refilling your water when they see it low (most places don't see the importance in that but it makes a big difference). I asked for a HOT pad Thai. Our server checked twice with me that I wanted Hot level and I said yes. My food unfortunately came out very mild & didn't have much flavor that I had to ask for additional chili sauce on the side. My pad Thai wasn't as good as I hoped it would be but the Thai Thea and the appetizers were delicious. read more

Went here before a show at Phoenix Theater nearby. Was blown away by the quality. I'm not a seafood fan since I dislike the "fishy" aftertaste, but I'll always try a restaurant's best dish even if it has seafood. The Dragon Eggz dumplings with crab, shrimp, and pork was incredible. The crispness and sauce was perfection. These were the best dumplings I've had in Arizona since Glain Baan. The Volcano Wrap had an incredible sauce as well and we devoured it. For a drink, I drank fresh coconut water from a young coconut. For my entree, I had the beef Panang with added veggies (extra $2 for the veggies but worth it). This definitely ranks as some of the best beef Panang I've ever had. My girlfriend had the Mi Dang which I tried and was also flavorful and tasty. The presentation of the food, the atmosphere, and the taste were all first-rate here. The prices were fair too for two people at a "fancy" restaurant. Parking was plentiful as there's a nice big parking lot adjacent. For a state lacking in a lot of quality Asian food, Wild Thaiger is a treasure. read more

Serving size was a bit less than what I would have liked but incorporating the price into the decision, I think it was very fair. Service was incredibly fast and friendly. My boss loves this place because it's close to the office and I can see why. We'll certainly be back and i'm looking forward to trying something new. read more

We were craving Thai food and we saw that this place was on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives so we were excited to give it a try. It was a busy Thursday night dinner and the floor was extremely understaffed -- the hostesses were cleaning/rearranging tables and delivering check to customers in between seating people. Granted, the place is small, but there were only two other actual servers taking orders and running the entire floor. This was just the beginning of a sadly disappointing night here. We ordered the fresh rolls for an appetizer, chicken pad Thai and the Thaiger Ribs with Thai tea. The fresh rolls came out quickly and while I thought it was a generous serving size for an appetizer and for the price, the fresh rolls were bland. The side sauce that came with it was overdone and was outside the traditional peanut sauce that usually comes with it. The rest of our food came 25 mins after our appetizer came out, which we thought was a little long but we waited patiently anyway. This pad Thai was very much forgettable -- in fact, it lacked flavor. It came in a huge, beautifully presented plate but there was nothing more to it. The Thaiger ribs were overdone to the point that the meat was tough and hard to chew. Again, the side sauce that came with it was unfitting and did not complement the BBQ sauce of the ribs. We didn't finish our meals and were very disappointed. We had to get the staff's attention so we could get our checks and leave, which still added another 10-15 mins. The only reason I'm not giving this place a one star is because the few staff that we encountered on the floor were great even if they were under extreme stress. I probably would not come back here again. read more

We adore this place! We saw it years ago on Triple D and when we made our first trip to Phoenix In 2016 we had to try it! Fantastic! We're on our 4th visit - which is a gig deal because we live in Alaska. Wait staff is always friendly and pleasant and the food is out of this world! This Thai restaurant is okay, not great. It's not all that traditional, seems that it caters to American palates. The menu is quite limited, and the portions are big. They will not have personal servings of many things, including soups, and spring rolls. The peanut sauce is so diluted it doesn't even taste like peanut, they will not bring sauces or anything else to your table. The servers are not helpful nor kind at all. The pineapple rice(tropical rice) which use to be my favorite, is awful. But I guess I'll give this restaurant an okay, because... well, I haven't found anything better in the valley. read more

This was the second time I've eaten from Wild Thaiger and first time sitting in the restaurant (COVID) and they did not disappoint. I ate with two others and we split the Dragon Eggz for an appetizer. Each bite was a different flavor full of delectable tastes. We did a mix of boiled and fried (highly recommend doing that unless you have a preference). I solely ate the Galee Gai, which was just the right amount of kick for a yellow curry dish. Washed it all down with a Pink Lotus and don't let the name fool you. It comes with a good amount of Hangar 1 kaffir lime vodka. read more
