Before Wild Mountain, I did not even care to try cinnamon rolls, which always look sugary and too sweet. Now I will not eat cinnamon rolls unless it is fresh and we are dining in at Wild Mountain. I love the way freshly baked cinnamon rolls are displayed at the glass showcase when entering the restaurant. Nothing beats a cup of tomato juice, warm cinnamon roll, and breakfast entrée when staring my weekend. Simply, too heavenly. So glad this restaurant made through the hardest part of the pandemic!!! read more

Cute home turned restaurant vibes. Wait was reasonable and food was perfect! Will be back for more including the Peach Mimosa :)

The food is good - Mac 'n Cheese could have been one of the best. The ambiance, as we entered the place, was good, however, was terrible if not the worst. We were seated at the table where I could see two toilet bowls strait in my eye site. I tried to move the chairs so I could avoid them. But, I gave in. I looked around and I can see at least five chairs have the similar view. I felt like I was eating in the bathroom. One additional terrible thing is that someone used one of the bathrooms towards to the end of the meal. I won't write how I noticed it. The food made by people who don't care about all that made me sick. I don't think I would ever go back there again. read more

TLDR: Purple house surrounded by plants. Try Apple juice. Large proportions (at least for me). Located in a purple elevated house surrounded by plants. Interior is like that of a house (doorways, rooms and all) that has been converted to a restaurant. Fairly quiet atmosphere with ambient radio playing 70s-ish music. Almost like eating at home! Walk up 2 half flights of stairs to get to main entrance--not sure if there is handicap access. Apple juice: just the right amount of sweetness with a slight tang. It's cloudy and not clear like store bought apple juice. Eggs Benedict: tasty! The hollandaise sauce had a nice slight tang to it. Super filling! Was a bit heavy on the sauce for my liking though. Potato cakes that came with it were really good--almost like fried mashed potatoes. The cure-all Mac and cheese: be warned--it's a large proportion! Good texture of cheese and it's not too salty like most places! read more

I must provide a shoutout for this excellent breakfast spot. Wild Mountain has a large selection of food options; its preparations are consistently pleasing; the prices are very reasonable in today's restaurant scene; and the service is friendly, attentive and skilled. [Look for Olga!] I continue to wish that the coffee blend would be changed, but it doesn't keep me from coming back. Check it out! read more

Super cute cafe located in a house style setting with friendly wait staff, delicious food, and mimosas by the pitcher. It's not to be missed for brunch! Stopped by on a whim when we were in the area. The wait was short and the decor was cute and homey so we grabbed some free coffee, drooled over the cinnamon rolls in the display case, and perused a menu. It only took about 5 minutes before we were seated by the friendly staff. We ordered some coffee and a pitcher of mimosas to share. I ordered The Vince and just like the menu says, just try it! It was great! Chicken sausage is one of my favorites for breakfast and everything that sounded so strange about this omelette blended together so well that I'm drooling a little now just thinking about it. The mimosas of course were great and the Canadian bacon as a side was cooked just right for breakfast. We will definitely be back if we are in this area again. read more

I wish I could give a higher rating to this quaint restaurant. It's a purple painted residential house on the outside that has been converted into a restaurant. The staff are all wonderfully welcoming and friendly. The interior is pretty cozy, and furnished with an eclectic collection of tables and chairs. I had the Mega Migas for brunch. This dish is made with scrambled eggs, pork chorizo, corn tortillas, scallions, cilantro, and jack cheese all mixed together. It is topped with a bit of sour cream, and served on the side are two garlic potato cakes plus a small cup of fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew melon, green grapes, pineapple, and watermelon). The egg scramble tasted a bit bland, the potato cakes were not bad, and the fruit was fresh (watermelon wasn't too sweet and a bit too watery though). Overall, it's a friendly and quaint establishment with pretty average food. read more

Consistently delicious! La Cabana is layered with fresh flavors and big enough for two. Cinnamon roll might be the best I've ever had. The roll is pretty big and has a soft and pillowy texture. Perfect amount of cinnamon throughout the roll. The frosting is sweet, smooth, and the perfect consistency. I've now ordered this exact breakfast twice and it has been consistent. Service was super fast. read more

Do not be fooled by the "vegan options" tag shown on here.... it was basically mushrooms, bell peppers, onions and cubed tofu cooked in water with literally no seasoning on it. I tried to douse it in hot sauce and salt but still couldn't really eat it. Instead of potato cakes, they sub those out and replace them with raw tomato slices (???). Oh yeah and you still have to pay $13 for it. Mimosas were fine though read more

It looks like it used to be a house that converted to a breakfast/lunch/brunch joint. It's kind of easy to drive by it and miss it on the street, but when you see it, it'll definitely stick out. You walk up the long stoop-like steps that are decorated on the side with lots of flowers and when you walk in, the interior will seem eclectic, maybe even a little bizarre because the chairs and tables all seem to intentionally mismatch. The art and paint inside is colorful, and overall, the inside has a unique charm to it. It's perfect for Greenwood.. I got a nice, hippie vibe as I entered. According to their menu, the Eggs Benedict is what they're known for. It's served as poached eggs over an English muffin, and also some kind of potato cake (not quite a hash brown). Also came with a cheap, generic bowl of small fruit cuts. Pretty nice, filling meal if you're craving something traditional and hearty in the breakfast sense. I like the place overall. For breakfast/lunch, as a quick, casual bite, this is a place I would recommend. Service was quick, attentive, and friendly. Food came out nice and hot. Being a house converted into a brunch spot gave me the feeling that I'm eating in someone's living room area. It's really something else. read more

This is, by far, one of my favorite breakfast/brunch restaurants in all of Seattle. The comfy atmosphere, the unique and tasty choices, and the service are all top notch. Plus, it's in my neighborhood, and what is better than convenience? I love that this is built into a house. It just gives it that good home-cooking feel to it. There usually is a wait, but it's never too long, and it's absolutely worth it. When you do have to wait, they usually have a coffee station located on the front porch so you can warm up and stay caffeinated until you're able to get a table. So many delicious choices here, but my absolute favorite is the Hawaii 5-0. A sandwich with chunks of fresh pineapple with thick-sliced ham and melted cheese. Seriously, how much more awesome can this get? Offered with a side salad (I usually go with garden with balsamic) or alternative. And it's a great portion. I have tried quite a few items on the menu, but this takes the cake. It's as close to perfection in your mouth as you can imagine. And be sure to munch on some coffee cake while you wait for your main dish. It's heavenly. I usually bring my waddler here, and I'm always really pleasantly surprised at how accommodating they are to children. At the entrance, they have a shelf with books, crayons, and paper. They even have sippy cups for the kiddos instead of cups with shoddy covers (because, let's face it, those ALWAYS spill). Nice touch, Wild Mountain! I love this place so much that I even occasionally host work meetings here! Plus, my boyfriend always wants to dine here when visiting from out of town. It's just THAT good. I have no complaints here; the service is stellar! read more

Brave the steps up to the front door for a super unique breakfast spot in a cozy, converted house. The menu boasts some fun items that you don't see frequently... French toast with tahini... garlicky potato cakes... an egg scramble with pineapple... wow! Dont worry, they have solid favorites like thieves rancheros or eggs bene if you are more in the mood for an classic selection. Staff is very friendly and mindful of coffee refills. Be sure to arrive before nine for early-bird specials on drinks, too! read more

I love this place! The food is amazing whether you take out or dine in. And if you choose to dine in, the place is really cute and cozy. It looks like the restaurant was retrofitted from a prior house (it probably was?). Every food item I try here is usually spectacular and never disappointing. On Sundays I have their Bloody Maries which is tastes amazing and fresh. My GF is picky about what she eats, and they are generally accommodating in customizing their options. For example, she likes extra egg in her BLT and they allow that option. She's also alcohol free, so she usually drinks virgin Bloody Mary which tastes equally good as the boozy version. This place is a gem that's hidden in a quieter part of Seattle, and I really recommend checking it out! read more

Definitely get the Tower of Power! I am not a vegetarian but sometimes it's just good to have a load of veggies sautéed to perfection for breakfast. Husband got the French Toast Slam, which was also great. We were there on a Sunday morning and it was cozy, quiet and the food arrived quickly and both dishes were done well. We were super tempted by the freshly baked cinnamon rolls but in the end we were too full to have one. Maybe next time! read more

Garlic Potato Cakes are unlike anything I could have imagined. They are like mashed potatoes that has been crisped on two sides like hotcakes. Really good!! read more

This is a fun restaurant. Lots of healthy choices and great service. They have some great vegan and gluten free options. It's located in a very random place. You wouldn't expect to find such a good restaurant in this spot and it's a house so it's kind of hidden. It has a very "at home" feeling which I enjoy. Full of funky kitchen tables and chairs that don't match. Weekends tend to be super busy. Best time is a weekday in the late morning. Today our waitress made a couple mistakes which she rectified right away with a smile but we always have fast friendly competent service. We had the salmon Benedict, Ace Cakes and French toast for "dessert". Instead of grilled potatoes or hash browns with breakfast, they serve a mashed potato cake which is a refreshing change from the norm. Breakfast also comes with a fruit cup that has a very nice variety of fruits. The salmon Benedict was pretty good (although I've had better) but I prefer the veggie one. It has more to it. The Ace Cake plate was so so good! I highly recommend this dish. It's very different and has a ton of flavor. Has a healthy amount of garlic as well but not overkill. I'll definitely be back. There's a lot on the menu I still want to try. read more

If you want a great, homey brunch, come here. We got to Wild Mountain around 10:30am on a sunny Saturday. The 2 of us got seated after just a 5 minute wait. Around 11am, the line got really really long, so make sure to come early. There was plenty of 2 hour street parking nearby as well. I got the Kitchen Sink scramble, which came with toast and two of the amazing garlic mashed potato pancake things. The scramble was enormous and super fresh. Somehow, we both finished our entire plates even though the portions are huge! Would definitely come again. read more

"Benedict-- I mean TOTALLY Eggs Benedict!" - Waitress The service was good, the food was good, I love businesses that reside in old houses, and I always love the "local" thing! It was a tad bit loud in there and we skipped the booze (though I got mildly intrigued by an overheard conversation about a Bloody Mary w/ Bacon Salt), but we did enjoy a delicious (though a tad too sweet, perhaps) cinnamon roll. I don't think I've ever had a cinnamon roll as part of breakfast and probably won't again, but you just don't say no when your pregnant friend wants something (and happens to be paying)! We then moved on to regular breakfast entrees, and fared mostly well on that account. I had the Totally Eggs Benedict and enjoyed that part, enjoyed the fruit bowl that automatically came with it, and fell in LOVE with the little melty and slightly buttery potato cake. My gods, it was good! Sadly my friend did not fare quite as well, because she tried the Persian Sun and we both decided that the tahini-stuffed French Toast with pineapples on top was a tad bit weird. She ended up eating only about half of it. Lessons learned? Awesome breakfast joint, skipping the really weird sounding stuff is a good idea, and I'm definitely coming back for more in the future. read more

Servers name: Amber Atmosphere: Casual Price: Decent ($11-$35) Service: Good Parking: Street/Residential Parking Other: Has bar seating and camera's are installed here. When someone claims that a place is the best breakfast place in a city - well the expectation is raised. I'm not disappointed with my encounter with WMC. I'm just not sure if it's the BEST. But here are some thoughts: Driving up - you would miss the fact that there is a restaurant here because well..it's a HOUSE. Granted - there is a sign outside but who reads those signs unless its covered with bacon. I do like the weird inconsistent decor and the idea of turning a house into a restaurant.. Very creative. I found out from Amber (our server) that this restaurant was opened in 2001. Amber has been working here since 2012. Amber stated that the wall art was purchased from local artists by Connie (the owner). The Atmosphere is casual but the air can get stuffy since there isn't good ventilation and windows are not allowed to be opened. Coffee: Coffee is basic - don't expect the expensive stuff - it was well....basic. Dishes: They are generous and filling. I did enjoy my dish (Kitchen Sink). It was like having Goulash and the base wasn't potatoes but eggs. My fiance had the Tower of Power and by the looks of it - she wasn't disappointed. Service: Connie - if you're reading this - here is a shout out to your server Amber. There were at least 13 people seated in the first 2 rooms. Amber was the only server and she was moving! Making sure our cups were full and dishes were sent out hot. She didn't stop and chat much and looking around - I don't blame her - she was on the go! So I am grateful for her hard work that day. Overall impression: I like this place - the weird decor and paint job outside; the fireplace and the stuffiness...well - scratch out the last part. The question is - would I return? ... Honestly ... YES! why not...there are other dishes on that menu I would love to try out. I wouldn't say this is the BEST place in Seattle but I will say 4 stars "I'm a fan" Other: I would like to try the Cinnamon roll on my next visit. read more

I've been here now twice in a span of a week, which means YUMMY!!!! Food: Portions are GREAT! I always have leftovers to take home. The first time I came I got a scramble Roos Hometown I think and the second time I got the Joe Schmo. They both came with garlic potato cakes which were SO good! I LOVE anything potato and I can now add this to my list. It is VERY garlic-y so heads up, you're been warned! The Joe Schmo came with 4 thick slices of bacon. Absolute heaven. My eggs were made perfectly and I had some warm buttery toast and jam to go with it. Overall, the food is a 10! Ambiance: This place is bit hard to spot off the road. It is an old house now converted into a restaurant. It has lots of flowers in the front so it blends in well. Nothing matches in the place, but that's what I love, it's unique! It's cozy. Both days was sunny so there was lots of natural light. There's a bar in the back with a TV, which I thought was nice yet out of the ordinary for a brunch spot. Price: Prices are very reasonable around $10. They also have an early bird special from 7:30-9 am. I can never make it in at that time, but for those who are morning people, this is a great deal! They also have some great cocktails, bloody mary, mimosas, etc. All great pairing for a hearty breakfast. Service: I didn't have any issues with service. Hmm maybe the bill took a while to come the first time I came, but I wasn't in a rush so it gave me more time to finish my drink. The people are very friendly and they were checking in with me pretty frequently the second time I came. I think because I sat in the room with the bar the first time, that they don't pay attention to that area as much, but either way I have no complaints. Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area and craving some breakfast/brunch! read more

Return of the son of the great, possibly lamented Coastal Kitchen. I actually believe the Coastal is on its way back, but that's beside the point here. I bring it up because this place has the genetics that come with being run by former employees of Chow Foods, and the Wild Mountain really does remind me of what a Coastal or a Five Spot might have been like 20 years ago, or whenever they were new. It's in a converted old house, as you might well have determined by now from the photos. It's got a great packed-in sociable feel as a result. The dining rooms and the bar are fairly small, but you have your own space to relax and enjoy. The service is friendly and fun. You feel welcome and start enjoying yourself as soon as you talk to anyone here. They're cranking out the Marys and the mimosas by the trayfull, at least on the sunny weekend morning we were here. The menu reminds me a fair bit of the tone struck by menus at CF breakfast emporiums. Funny, accessible, clear. You get a sense immediately of what will be on the plate. The food is great--exactingly prepared, fresh ingredients, appetizingly plated. Everything's to like about this place. read more

Sharing a meal in a friend's home is one of my favorite things to do. Tiny neighborhood cafe with a talented kitchen - benedicts get all the glory (well-deserved) here, but Wild Mountain offers an impressive, expansive brunch menu with unique, local offerings. Tried La Cabana, which is a Mexican breakfast casserole - corn tortillas layered with chicken sausage, green chiles, tomatoes, jack cheese and cumin-seasoned eggs, topped with scallions, fresh cilantro, salsa. Hearty and interesting for a change. Would return to try the scrambles, which sound yummy - Buddha's Happiness (organic tofu, mushrooms, roasted garlic, spinach & jack cheese) - Purdy Gyrl (homemade pesto scrambled with tomatoes, spinach & mozzarella) Several of the breakfast dishes are plated with a nice serving of fresh fruit, which is a plus. Roasted garlic potato cakes are a welcome change from standard hash browns. House coffee cake (had the blueberry) is delish. Cafe is small, so would recommend for parties of 4 or under. read more

I really liked the location of this restaurant but there are pros and cons to it. The restaurant is in an old house that was probably built in the early twentieth century. You can tell when you enter because the wooden floor boards creak a bit. I thought the place was really cute and quaint. However, even though the air conditioning was on, it was super hot inside. Too bad the air condition is trapped in the bathroom area. We asked our waitress if we could open the window but she said no. One of the negatives to this place is that they don't seat you until your ENTIRE party is there. Since we were missing one person, we waited in the lobby area for about 30 minutes. After we got seated, we ordered. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and my husband ordered the eggs Benedict. The quantity isn't too large. I'd say that they give you moderate portions. The eggs Benedict was smaller than I had imagined it would be. It comes with a dinky fruit cup. My pesto chicken sandwich was okay. I thought the sandwich was a bit greasy and the bread to buttered. What I really enjoyed eating was their salad. Their house salad was terrific. I got it with their Italian dressing and it was perfection. In fact, my mouth waters as I am writing this. I'd go back just to eat their salad. The total bill for our two items was $37. We didn't think it would be that much but they tacked on 20% extra for gratuity because we had a party of 6. For the portion size and taste, I thought it was a bit expensive. read more

I'm not sure how I've been coming here for 6+ years and not reviewed! If your expecting small amounts, stuffy staff and pretentious food on matching dinnerware this will not be your place. Wild Mountain is a funky eclectic artist vibe of decor and good home cooking, paired with great customer service. There's a shorter, small women that helps us often that's a boss at keeping on top of everything! They have a couple items you should come on a Saturday or Sunday to try, like cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven. Come early if you can cause they do sell out. If you come early I think they have an early bird alcohol special. I enjoy their Mimosa & my hubby loves the Bloody Mary. We probably need a program since we've come here enough we don't need to look at the menu. I often love to order the Mega Migas or the Catfish Sammy. The Mega Migas come with chorizo, with amazing potato pancakes and fruit. -- YUM! They have lots of vegan or vegetarian options (which I honestly don't try often enough) which are clear marked. They've been great with family on allergies and helping them enjoy a satisfying meal. The brunch menu goes till at least 3pm and lunch starts at 11 am. Florentia omelette & a cinnamon roll. That's my ideal here. The Florentia has a metric crapton of bacon to go with the spinach and egg, leaving no room for it to be anything less than excellent, while the cinnamon roll is sugary and wonderful, just as a cinnamon roll should be. They run out, so you'll want to show up early, but it's so worth it. The staff has always been really nice and the coziness of the place can't be beat. Thank you, WMC! So we just flew into town with my 4 month old and although we feel lucky he did great on the flight... He was back before I was done nursing!!! A great little place! Take out was boxed up nicely! BLT with Avocado was on this incredible wheat bread that I would absolutely love to buy a loaf of! The texture and flavor are to die for! My Love had the Cashew Chicken Salad sandwich that he raved on and on about, but I ate a few bites and thought it tastes like curried celery. Not a fan of celery, sooo Yep- you guessed it! Not a fan of many "chicken salad"s or any SALADS for that matter hehe The sandwiches came with really thick and corny tortilla chips that were not too salty and perfectly crisp - YAH even after sitting in the take out box with my sandwich while input my son to sleep!! I really loved this place. I was sitting in the patio in the back with a friend and I ordered gluten free eggs benedict with the potato pancakes as a substitute for the English muffin. This is an interesting little spot, it's an old house converted into a restaurant with mismatched tables, chairs and coffee mugs. The front of the house has a fireplace that would be a great area to be seated in. It has charm for sure but it is also on the small side and feels a little crowded. The menu had plenty of options for breakfast, even a build your own breakfast that seemed pretty appealing. Sometimes you want the French toast, the potatoes, the meat and all of that, you know? Settled on the Kitchen Sink scramble with toast, garlic potato cakes and a side of bacon ordered crisp. Breakfast arrived and it was a little bland. The scramble would have benefitted from some salt and pepper. The menu said the scramble included bacon, ham, pork sausage, grilled zucchini, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. Mine was missing cheese and I had one piece of zucchini and mushroom. It was average but ingredient wise, lacking. The real disappointment was the garlic potato cakes. I expected something with more crunch, instead I got garlic mashed potatoes formed into a cake and browned. Maybe take the mashed potatoes, brown them in a pan to add some crispness then mold them into a cake and brown again? That's what I would have done. Definitely expected more than what I got. The service was somewhat attentive, I would have appreciated some water and coffee refills. The portions are good, definitely left feeling full. Considering the close quarters in each area and the average fare, there are better breakfast options in the area. read more

I love this place because it is so cute and kind of tucked away from the madding crowd. I love the mismatched china. Unfortunately on my last visit, just a couple of days ago, the food was not up to par. Many items appeared to be burnt, including the bacon, the toast, and the usually great potato dumplings.
