It's been a while and I was in the mood for a chili dog. I was in the area so I decided on stopping by Wienerschnitzel. I ordered the chili cheese fries, corndog, and to satisfy my craving a chili dog. The corn dog was nice and crispy. The chili dog never disappoints. The only reason why I put down 4 stars was The chili cheese fries. French fries seemed kind of stale. Overall the service was good and the ambiance is nice and quiet. I'll definitely come back to try the chili fries again. Maybe they just had an off day.

I met the owner Alicia who manages the diner and her husband cooks. They took the diner over from the previous owner and they keep it spotless. I love an old school diner feel with diner coffee cups, counter seats and friendly family as staff. When you come here they make you feel welcomed like you are part of the family. Instantly Daisy welcomed me to sit anywhere. And Alicia showed me where I could plug in my laptop. Theres two places close to outlets. I got here early before the Sunday crowd rolled in. This was nice because I enjoyed chatting with them before the place got busy. These people put their heart into running an awesome old school diner. Do not worry about the diner coffee cups as they were awesome at topping my coffee off as I stayed working on my computer. The food was 5 stars, the service was 5 stars, the cleanliness was 5 stars. Do not sleep on the Roxsbury Bar&Grill. Come when its slow and take your time. Im also glad they are open longer than Starbucks because they boot me out at 6pm and I need a place to plop down and work! This place is open until 8pm. Thank you Daisy, Alicia and Dad!

Very friendly and attentive waitress, traditional diner menu. There are two deli locations listed…read moreon Yelp: Roxbury Deli and Roxbury Deli. They are the same place...in this situation I would imagine it has to do with the account ownership and access to the account (not duplicating the account name...but that's just a guess). It's very clean, almost feels a little too sterile though (just my experience, I would paint the solid wall a darker neutral color). Current offerings are more of a diner than a deli (you think deli, you think deli counter and main focus on specialty sandwiches). A quick search shows this is an established spot where the cook has taken the baton and is carrying it in through the next decade. Good variety on the menu, specials as well. Stopped in for a quick breakfast. Perfect portion, good flavor, but to appease the those accustomed to two toast slices, would put the toast on the main plating and not a separate plate. I was full and did not have room for dessert but the table across the room shared a piece of carrot cake that looked delicious. And apparently it was delicious the whole group was still talking about it on their way out. Large serving when it came to the dessert, shareable. Worth a try if you've never been, are passing through, or if it has been a while.

Yep, so good!!! Don't sleep on the incredible international variety of snacks and sweets such as chocolates from England and chips from Japan. Sorry folks, while the Harbor Mart shop is open Sunday-Saturday 8am-9pm, the deli hours are 10:00-6:30 Monday-Saturday. There's even an automated coffee machine if you're looking for a latte of a hot chocolate for the kids. Don't sleep on buying the hot dogs here, they are filling and OUTTA THIS WORLD!!!

We haven't been to this area in three years and they opened about three years ago so we have never tried it before But based on the reviews, we decided to stop in for lunch. The menu is divided between American offerings like hamburgers and some Mediterranean options as well as salads so a pretty good overall number of options. This is not only a restaurant, but it is also a market that has lots of Good selections and is quite nice. The service was amazing when I walked in the door one of the family members who owned the place greeted me personally showed me around and told me how the food ordering works. Nice seating outdoors and highly recommended place if you are in Ventura Harbor. Please support this family business is awesome.

BBQ Worth Fighting Over at Smokin Jay's BBQ & Coffee from Potheads Coffee…read more My wife and I recently stopped by Smokin Jay's BBQ and paired it with a visit to Potheads Coffee, and it turned into one of those meals you end up talking about long after you leave. From the first bite, it was clear this spot takes their BBQ seriously. Entrées: We started by ordering a brisket plate, which came with about 1/4 lb of brisket, roughly six solid pieces, along with macaroni salad and baked beans. Our original plan was to share, but that quickly changed after the first few bites. The brisket was tender, flavorful, and cooked just right with that perfect balance of smoke and juiciness. It didn't take long before we realized sharing wasn't going to cut it. So my wife went back up and ordered a brisket sando with fries, and it absolutely delivered. The sandwich came loaded with brisket, pickles, slaw, and sauce, all working together perfectly. The fries were a great side, crispy and a solid pairing with the sandwich. Sides: The macaroni salad and baked beans that came with the plate were both on point. The mac salad was creamy and complemented the richness of the brisket, while the baked beans added that sweet and savory depth you want with BBQ. Sandwich Details: The sando really stood out, especially with the addition of the slaw. My wife usually isn't a fan of coleslaw, but this one changed things a bit. It wasn't overpowering and added a nice crunch and balance to the sandwich, tying everything together without taking away from the brisket. Drinks and Service: Grabbing coffee from Potheads Coffee alongside the meal was the perfect move. What really stood out, though, was the service. Jay, the owner, was walking around checking in on customers and genuinely engaging with everyone. He even helped my wife decide on a coffee based on what she usually orders at Starbucks, which was a great personal touch. He later stopped by our table, chatted with us for a bit, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and personal. Ambience: The atmosphere strikes a great balance between laid back and lively. It has that casual, welcoming BBQ spot feel where you can relax, enjoy your food, and not feel rushed. Pairing it with Potheads Coffee adds to the experience, making it feel like more than just a meal but a spot you can hang out and enjoy. Overall: Smokin Jay's BBQ is hands down the best BBQ spot I've had in Ventura County so far. Between the quality brisket, well put together sides, standout sandwiches, and the personal touch from the owner, it's an easy recommendation. Pair it with Potheads Coffee, and you've got yourself a top tier Ventura food stop that's definitely worth coming back to.
