Saw a "Fish & Chips" sign when passing Wienerschnitzel and as a fish & chips connoisseur myself, I doubled-back to give it a try. At $6.39, for the regular fish and fries, I wasn't expecting much and in the end I was right! It's not great, but it's not terrible either. The fish is more like fish sticks you'd get in the freezer section, and there were a few fries underneath. All of it is tightly packaged in a box that looks like the same boxes they use for hot dogs. If eaten hot, the fish is okay. They also offer a "Sea Dog" variation which is a fish stick in a bun with tartar sauce and cheese (?). Weird but it might be okay. Proceed with caution.

Before cruising the coast, we always have to stop at Wienerschnitzel for their chocolate-dipped soft serve cones they're our favorite tradition! The vanilla soft serve is creamy, the chocolate shell has the perfect crunch, and they're always a refreshing treat on a warm day. Fast, friendly service and consistently delicious. This is by far the nicest customer service location I have ever been to. We got six of the mini corn dogs, two Chicago dogs and their new deluxe cheeseburger and I have to be honest. It's surpassed our expectations. Next time we are down in Oceanside, we will stop at particularly this location again. read more

Is your a hotdog lover it's definitely a spot to check out for fast service! I tried two different hotdogs (the Kraut dog and the chili cheese dog). Both were great for a fast food restaurant! While they steady try to cancel affordable Fast Food in North County, Wienerschnitzel has stayed true for the real ones. Don't sleep on Carlos. Carlos going places: -Keep that fire Los' -Keep your Team straight -Know "Team" means you cant do it alone Anyway, the food was great and while I waited, I watched many Soccer Moms pull up in 100k+ cars to feed their CHILDREN all while receiving great service at Wienerschnitzel. The same Moms that discriminate and talk bad about Fast Food in the light socially pull up late to feed in the dark. Go figure. Thanks Carlos! read more

This Wienerschnitzel is probably the best one in San Diego. The other Schnitz in Oceanside is THe WORST and doesn't participate in promotions which is LAME. Went here on Sunday for the 7 chili dogs for $7. Might even show up for 4 chili dogs for $4 on Wednesday. Inflation really destroyed the good deals that they once had, but I'm glad ownership is starting to offer great deals again. I was banning Wienerschnitzel for a bit, but they brought me back in like a good drug dealer. Chili is my drug!! HIGHLY recommend using coupons that you can get on the website for FREE to save a couple of bucks. Customer service is EXCELLENT here and they play fun music outside. All they need is to sell some beer!! read more

Service was amazing right when I got up to the window, I was greeted politely. I also liked that I was offered condiments. Usually people don't offer and I forget to ask at the end of my service. He told me to have a wonderful day which was very thoughtful and kind. my food came out warm and ready to eat. The quality of the food is amazing as well. The fries are made perfect just the right amount of seasoning and the right amount of crunch never soggy.. It tells you that someone in the kitchen is paying attention and I like that when it comes to food. The restaurant has a cute little patio outside and it's always clean a nice spot just to hang out eat and enjoy the weather. read more

The outdoor seating has an amazing view of the Oceanside beach and pier. The indoor seating is an open air concept with their coffee bar and bakery at the front and a closed kitchen in the back. The weight staff was very professional and courteous. Ours was especially attentive and took the time to tell us what some of the more popular dishes are at breakfast time. The food was delicious. Their coffee was delicious! I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes, and they were moist and surprisingly, very citrusy and slightly tart which was balanced with a few dollops of lemon curd that was on the plate. I also ordered a coffee cake, which I did not end up eating however, when I had it as a midnight snack later, it was delicious. It was so buttery, especially on top where the crumble was. It was the perfect blend of sweet and salty. My daughter ordered the Hawaiian style fried rice. We were pleasantly surprised that the spam on the plate is homemade spam and not the kind you get from the can. It definitely tasted a lot better than the kind you get from the can. Sidenote: I am a fan of the one you get on the can, however! The fried rice was fried with kimchi, pineapple, green onion, and toasted sesame oil. The plate came with a thin omelette on top. The portions are good, and if you are not too hungry, you can definitely share them. This place is also dog friendly, which I found to be great since I am the owner of a rat terrier. There were plenty of other customers with their furry friends chilling at their feet. In fact, the restaurant offers a pet menu with options like unsalted hamburger or unsalted and grilled chicken thigh. I am definitely going to go back when I'm in the area. We also ordered the brussel sprouts which we never received and didn't even realize it until the very end when we received the bill because of all the other issues we had... but we'll get to that in a moment. But let's talk about what did go well... the delicious food we did get. We ordered the Pig burger which was sooo good and came with crispy fries. The fish for the fish and chips were 2 huge pieces and were delicious, came with yummy seasoned waffle fries and the tiniest tartar sauce and malt vinegar. I had to request 4 more for that amount of fish, but no big deal. Dennis brought out as much as we needed. Their ranch sauce is really good too. Don't judge just because it's a little peachy'ish and looks thousand island'ish. lt's still some very good ranch. My son said he really tasted the bitterness of beer in the fish batter but maybe it was just in that piece he had; I could not taste it in the piece of fish I ate. The short rib was really tender and delicious... the sauce was just a tad salty for my taste, but the mashed potatoes it sat on sort of balanced it out a little. The fried chicken thighs were really cooked well, juicy, crispy and seasoned perfectly. We ordered two Teres Major steaks. One rare with mashed potaoes, one medium rare with grits. The rare one came out medium and without any mushrooms, took FOREVEEERR to remake (the rest of the table was almost done with our meals...& not sure why it took so long since the restaurant wasn't that busy and it's a RARE steak). The one with grits came with mashed potatoes instead of grits. Dennis was super nice and apologetic and corrected both mistakes when we let him know. He then brought us a big bowl of grits. The manager (blonde gal) came over and apologized for the mistakes tonight, letting us know that usually does not happen, and let us know she'd be comping one of our steaks and would be bringing a dessert on them. We thought that was very nice of them. However, as nice a gesture. we never did receive that dessert. My husband handed Dennis his credit card before the bill arrived (before our friends could try to pay the bill) and not sure why but our bill never came, and we never saw Dennis again either after he boxed up our leftovers and took the card. We had to ask another server for our bill because we had been waiting for quite a while... and needed to head out as we were already late to meet friends at a lounge. The other server came back with my husband's credit card, the bill (that's when I finally noticed the brussel sprouts sides we never got but were charged), and let the server know. He immediately apologized and took it off the bill. So I'm not sure what happened last night at Flying Pig...missing and charged brussel sprouts, steak overcooked, missing mushrooms, mashed potatoes instead of grits, then a comped dessert promised but never delivered. WOW. I had to apologize to my friends. I was totally hyping up this place and it underdelivered. They automatically got their 20% gratuity for our party of 9 but anyone that knows me knows how much I absolutely love great service combined with exceptional food and that could have easily been a 30-35% tip had they been on their A game! We only come to Oceanside once a year. Maybe we will try again next year. Maybe not. This trip was about trying out a bunch of different restaurants and giving honest reviews on dishes/businesses we haven't tried before, or in a long time. Do better guys.

Pulled up to Wienerschnitzel 'cause I was hungry as hell. Im from Texas , we need this store out there ......so I Done messed up and cut the drive-thru line, figured I'd get chewed out but this young Mexican fella handled it real nice. Man this place has gone downhill. The crew is incompetent and the manager promotes the incompetence. This is the second time in 2 weeks they've had horrible service and a DGAF attitude. You would think businesses would change there customer service after everything? This place actually got worse. Order was wrong, drove all the way back and the manager actually charged me more for coming back. Crazy! They also deny any coupons so don't even try.
