This is still a good location to grab a fresh, hot meal. I ordered the six-piece mini corndogs and didn't wait long to receive them. They arrived freshly hot--in fact, so hot that I had to let them cool down before eating. They were crunchy and tasty. The soda dispenser is the standard kind; you can't personalize your drink with fun syrups (not that this should keep you from coming here--I'd just love to see it. I'd love to score a vanilla Diet Coke.) Something unusual that I noticed is that there are no napkin dispensers around for customer use. If you need a napkin, you need to go to the counter and ask for one. Napkins are provided with your food when you pick it up, but you must go back for an additional one. Curious. Were customers hording their napkins? If you're looking for an option to burgers, come check out Wienerschnitzel and grab some hotdogs!

Maybe not the best spot if you're craving hot dogs, but potentially a great spot to go if you're craving corn dogs or jalapeño poppers! I always pass by Wienerschnitzel but I've never been able to convince people to go with me because honestly the pictures on yelp and Google make it look kind of nasty. But today was finally the day, and we were all surprised that it wasn't as bad as we expected! It was honestly okay, exceeded our expectations, and the prices were pretty cheap, especially if you use the coupons on their website. I ended up getting a buffalo ranch bird dog, and I thought it was okay. Its a lot smaller than we expected but it was cheap so it's ok I suppose. The chicken tender was crispy and good. But mine barely had any Buffalo sauce on it whereas my friend had too much on hers. And I wasn't the biggest fan of how soft the bun was. A lot of potential for soggy bread which I don't like. But the jalapeño poppers were really good and cheesy, with lots of jalapeño chunks inside. And I heard good things from my friends about the corn dog, and that it was nice and crunchy. Other pros are that the drinks are huge and the workers are really friendly. But the fries were just ok. Really not too bad of a spot though!

Tonight a hot dog popped into my culinary brain. I got a chili dog, which was a typical baseball park type dog. Btw...Q2 stadium is across the street. The bun was nice and soft. The cashier rang my order rather quickly and was handed over to me in minutes. The restaurant was small with most people going through the drive through.

Honestly haven't had Wienerschnitzel in YEARS. There is not a location near me, but I happened to be in North Austin this day and thought why not. If you go on their website they have all sorts of coupon deals. I picked two of them and got a little bit of everything for my boyfriend and I. Once I got home and opened everything up we were not too impressed by the small size of the hot dogs and lacking of chili on the fries. But hey it's fast food and cheap, so I shouldnt expect much I suppose. It was alright, but I think our craving to eat here has been filled for another few years lol I will say though the restaurant inside was very clean and the staff was kind and quick.

Great place professional crew clean and do I need to say they have a great product all the way around. I was homeless for a long time and lived in back they helped me fed me to. Tell Sonia hi for Tomahawk and give her a huge tip only God knows how much it's deserved.

Let me set the weekend scene for you. GF and I had left home Friday evening and headed out the Hill Country for our anniversary weekend. So, hotel room for two nights. Add in dranks over a few days; spendy meals and of course shopping. Sunday afternoon and we're back home with empty bank accounts. We had to drop off her work vehicle at 290 east and 183. I start thinking about cheap grub. For some reason Wienerschnitzel popped into my brain and we headed to Braker Lane. Dining room is open here; simple order at the counter process and we're waiting for our food. Two meals and drinks under $18. I did forget to add onions to both my dogs; presentation could have used a little work. Chili cheese and Kraut dogs are good appetizers. What you're missing if you haven't dined here is the crack like mini corndogs. And strangely, I don't order corndogs anywhere. My addiction to them is exclusive to this chain. Paired with simple yellow mustard I could eat hundreds of them. Did I mention I don't put mustard on anything??? I'm going for 4 stars because the cook tried to short my order; only serving me 5 instead of 6. I had to show proof at the counter that there were only 5 in the bag. A few minutes later the elusive 6th mini made it to the table. Wish there was a South Austin store!

Sport Peppers from Amazon to make our own chi dogs!

My darling hubby and I were right in the middle of our Great British Baking Show binge, when he suddenly announced that his favorite hot dog on Earth was a Chicago dog! This was truly apropos of nothing, at the moment, because the bakers were in the middle of their show-stopper round of some sort of ice cream, jam, and pâte à choux roll thingie, but I paused the TV to hear him out because I love the man, and I got immediately intrigued! Sports peppers? Are they like pickles? Oh, no, said he! They're their own thing! I then took to Amazon, and, the next day, the peppers arrived! We decided to make our very own official Chicago dogs on the Blackstone at the casa, at some point soon! Fast forward to three days later, and I can't stop thinking about this thing! It's all so very specific, what with the peppers and the celery salt and all, which makes it extra-interesante! I decided that, in order for us to truly make the best one in history, I definitely needed to try one first. That's how we found ourselves at Wienerschnitzel in the Domain! We went through the drive thru, and it's no surprise that we both got the Chi dog! Oh, I also got 6 mini corn dogs because I have NEVER seen a corn dog that I didn't speedily mainline with loads of mustard! They're my jam in a most obscene way! Mini Corn Dogs - these were FREAKISHLY delicious! We could have polished off a dozen, if we weren't trying to be "good"! Chicago Dog - My hubby gave these a BIG thumbs up! I could also see what all of the Chicago dog fuss was about! The freshness of the accoutrement really elevated that humble dog! I'm a fan! Fries - Yummy! Like Mickey D's, but a bit more interesting! Definitely fresh, salty, and crispy! Lemonade - Refreshing and sweet! Maybe a tad too sweet for us, but it had a lovely tartness to it, too! A lot of the reviews of this chain mention "guilty pleasure", and I have to add to that chorus! It was a quick in and a quick out, and, while there are, no doubt, plenty of fancy schmancy artisan Chicago dogs being churned out somewhere in this town (and we'll most happily try them all), we'll definitely be hittin' up the Wienerschnitzel on the regular, from here on out, when we're in the mood for some super-quick, super-cheap and downright tasty dogs! Thanks, Wienerschnitzel!

Mini corn dogs. Was a 6 pack

I had to meet a friend at Costco's and it was around lunch. After meeting and chatting for a while, she had to go to work. that left me wondering where to grab a quick bite to eat. Then I remembered Wienerschnitzel wasn't too far. Since the one in Cedar Park closed years ago, I missed the chili cheeseburger. GPSed to find the quickest route and was there in 5 minutes. The drive-thru was a bit packed. Gave me a chance to check out the menu. Decided on the chili cheeseburger and small order of mini corndogs. I was told that the corndogs will take 5 minutes. No problem as the line to get food wasn't moving too fast. The lady at the window was so happy and pleasant to talk to. Paid my bill and got my bag of food. Now the hard part, driving home smelling that chili cheeseburger. I only made it halfway home before I grabbed a corn dog to munch on. So Good Once home the burger had no chance. It was devoured in no time. It was not as good as I remembered as it could have used more chili. But it was still nice eating it. Then those cute little corndogs were my target. One by one, they were eaten and gone. I said to myself not to wait seven years to go again

I read the Yelp reviews before coming (more on this later). I only had the traditional bahn mi with three kinds of pork, including sliced and pate. The bahn mi was as it should be, a thinner sandwich bread, similar to a baguette but skinnier, with lightly pickled daikon and carrot, a cucumber, cilantro, and jalapeno. It was delicious. Which brings me to the Yelp reviews. A number of them are complaining that the bread isn't as large as a traditional French baguette. This is because a bahn mi doesn't traditionally have a larger sized baguette. A traditional bahn mi bread is inspired by a French baguette, because the sandwich is a fusion of French and Vietnamese cuisines, since the French colonized Vietnam and influenced some of their food and architecture. But it isn't traditionally as thick as a baguette, and is made of a mix of wheat and rice flour. The owner happened to be typing on his laptop and I talked to him about the bread. It is made in house, by him. It is made thin, but doesn't have rice flour. I was frankly grateful that it wasn't a normal sized baguette, because that would have scraped up my mouth and required having a lot more toppings to balance the ingredients with the bread, making a much larger sandwich than I would want to eat. In the US, a restaurant owner making a bahn mi often faces a choice between making their own bread in house, having a local bakery make it for them, or buying from a bakery that already makes French baguettes. So what people are used to eating isn't authentic, but is a cost-saving tradeoff made by using a regular French baguette, usually the cheapest of the options. So before you complain about the shape and size of the bread, please understand that this is closer to the real deal than you are used to and not a defect of the bahn mi bread served in this restaurant, despite being named "Baguette House". The rest of the sandwich is open to criticism and I agree with some that the pickled veg could have used more vinegar, but the bread was well-made, crunchy crispy outside, with a soft interior. Delish.
