Patrons are mostly locals and repeat customers, which I love. They do Thursday evening football games and have some soccer affinity too. Usually there's ice hockey playing as well. Ragz loves their chilli burgers and gets one pretty much every time. I usually get their quesadilla. They are very good with customizing orders for me - for example, I ask for less chicken and lots of veggies in my quesadilla and they always get it right. I also like their soups, which rotate. The chicken and rice is a good one, as is the tomato soup. Not a huge fan of the wings I have tried so far, honestly. Service is great. Ashley is my fav! Overall, I love coming here for the cozy hometown bar feel. You'll find us here on Thursdays!

Ashburn Pub still has the best fish and chips I've ever had. We've tried much of the menu and have never been disappointed. I even stopped there first after flying into town today. Wow, what a quaint British pub in the middle of Vienna. Parking is a little tight for this area,…read morebut you can definitely find some spots in the back on a weekday. I ended up biking and there's a bike stand really close by. My friend was craving fish and chips, so we ventured out this way. Because we came on a Thursday they had a deal going where if you ordered a pie, you could get a beer for free. Of course I had to partake, so I ordered the special pie, which was a masala, chicken, curry pie, and it was quite good. A bit small for the price point but with the beer included totally worth it also because their fries are so good. I could demolish over a pound of those fries. They were thick potato and maybe the extra added bonus of having to use a glass ketchup bottle added to it. My friend and I were also taught how to properly hit the ketchup bottle to get the ketchup out by the bartender. You find the 57 on the bottle at an angle and bump you palm there that instead of hitting the bottom and hoping and praying that ketchup comes out. It actually worked or at least it was more efficient than trying to hit the bottom of the bottle upside down. I had never had a hand pumped beer before, but it was quite good. They are a warm beer rotating and it was quite good, it especially paired well with the pie or fish and chips.

While celebrating a special birthday we made reservations for a birthday dinner here. I will admit…read morethat I was slightly worried after reading so many negative comments. My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!

Food was great for a pub food. The specials included the typical Irish dishes. I opted for a corn beef sandwich. I asked for a plain one and they cooked food to order. I'm going to be upfront about my bias here. That's not an exaggeration. It factors into where I stay. My order basically never changes. Cheesesteak, fries, a beer, and a bourbon or an Irish whiskey depending on the mood. I've had it enough times now that I'd notice if anything slipped, and it hasn't. The vibe is a big part of why I keep coming back. It's never so packed that you can't hear yourself, and there's a clear crew of regulars who are obviously here all the time. That's usually a good sign about a place, and it is here. But the food is the reason. It's to die for. I'll keep coming back as many times as humanly possible whenever work puts me in the area.

FOOD/DRINK: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5…read moreAMBIANCE: 3/5 This place has a "seat yourself" policy, but it doesn't quite work. We sat for a good 10 minutes before someone noticed us and gave us menus. If these are the seating arrangements, then maybe it would be a good idea to have a QR code or menus at the tables to browse while we wait. We ordered our drinks and when I got my water, it was extremely "tappy" tasting, which I don't really expect from a place that has a bar. I ordered a sweet tea instead, which was perfect (not too sweet). We looked over the menu for a while and I decided on the golden barbeque chicken, while hubby got the chicken and waffles. Food took a really long time to come out (no fault of our waiter, he kept checking with the kitchen). We were here longer than an hour and it wasn't *too* busy. FOOD: -Golden Barbeque Chicken - half chicken with a dry rub and then bbq sauce and comes with corn on the cob and fries. This was really, really good. It was just what I wanted - and I couldn't even finish it! The fries were crisp. The chicken had just enough sauce and was juicy, but the breast was a tad dry...but even the corn on the cob had seasoning! Yum. -Chicken & Waffles - I only tried a bite of the waffle, which was soft & crisp at the same time. A perfect waffle. Hubby ate it all! Haven't tried dessert but they all sounded yummy. Maybe next time! Prices were really fair and "cheap" (not in a bad way, but lots of restaurants have raised their prices a lot and this one hasn't). Ambiance lacked since the lights were basically turned off and the paint was worn away where the chairs scraped it. When we were leaving, we noticed our waiter was the ONLY waiter AND he was managing the bar. I think the wait had to do with staff shortage and I felt bad for him. Note: We have been here once before a year ago (when there were Covid restrictions) where I had chicken tenders (I think) and hubby had the cheesesteak. Both were really good. A good local place to visit (and they're open late!!). We will definitely be back.
