Steak and Cheese - who else uses ketchup AND mustard for their fries?
    Angela K.

Came here for a quick bite before a sport tournament. Was somewhat surprised at the faint cigarette smell, but quickly figured out the "shenanigans" component of the establishment and was fine with it. (Wasn't too overpowering - could just faintly smell it in the air) Food was very good and portions were nice. Our party got Reuben's, burgers, steak & cheese subs and all came with very crispy/tasty fries. Sweet potato fries were very good as well. Steak and cheese had enough meat, bread was soft, taste was good. Hubby recommended also buttering/toasting the OUTSIDE of the rye bread for the reuben and it would be 5 stars! Would definitely return again if we were in the area.

Had an awesome breakfast Friday morning around 9:30. It was seat yourself and the bartender was friendly. Service was quick and food was great for price. Paid $12 for a hearty breakfast and several cups of coffee. Nothing pretty but that's ok with me. I see why this is a local gem. Would gladly return to try other meals.

Stopped in to Spanky's Shenanigan Pub on a Sunday for brunch. The place was packed - there are two sides to the pub - from what I can tell, the left hand side is for smokers - the reason I state that is there was a gentleman smoking a cigarette holding the front door open for an elderly couple - he then went back inside and to the left - still smoking a cigarette. I opened the door to that side - and it smelled like cigarettes. Yuck. So I went over the other (right) side - which did not smell like cigarettes. There was one booth open - which I snagged. My server arrived promptly and presented me with both brunch and regular menus. I ordered the "Belmont Ridge," which is sausage gravy over your choice of bread - I opted for their buttermilk biscuits - served with hot, crispy breakfast potatoes, and your choice of meat (I went with bacon). I added two eggs over easy - and coffee and water. Coffee and water came out first. Standard coffee - nothing interesting about it. My food order came out shortly afterward. Most of the food was hot - the sausage gravy, was lukewarm. You could see the bits of sausage in the gravy - but, as with so many sausage gravies - the gravy is under-seasoned - and it really doesn't taste like sausage. I added black pepper, salt, and Cholulu hot sauce to the gravy to amp it up. The potatoes were hot and crisp - but they too needed seasoning. The eggs were cooked properly and the bacon was crisp and tasty. Checking in with the Yelp app secured me a 20% discount off of my bill. A paper bill was brought to my table on a small clipboard - so no Apple Pay option - at least by default. Service was good. #SpankysShenanigans

If it's nice weather, sitting in the patio is a lovely environment. Otherwise, this is a typical very dimly lit pub and diner type experience. Although it's difficult to see and read the menu due to the lack of lighting, it is still obvious that this business is in desperate need of a remodel. The stench of cigarette smoke hanging in the air, seeping into your lungs, clothes, and hair. A smokey residue unlike any other, clinging to every surface- a stickiness and grime that cannot be wiped away. Please do something to protect patrons from the harrowing smoke. Aside from this filthy environment, this venue provides kind service/hospitality and surprisingly fresh food. The menu offers a good variety of options to suit each palate. Unfortunately every time we return here I leave feeling sick from the smoke, contend with a sore throat for a couple of days after, and have to wash everything that now wreaks of smoke. The owner is kind and helpful and we want to support local small businesses. It's a sad situation when you see a local small business falling apart and seemingly uncared for. I don't know why there's still a smoking side - the smoke is everywhere with greater concentration levels through the swinging doors. Perhaps the owner is a smoker. Either way, we have been regulars due to wanting to support local business and because the owner is of good character.

A staple of Leesburg since the early 2000's (maybe even before that), it's a neighborhood favorite spot to enjoy good eats, watch sports and some live music, and get your drink on. I've been coming since 2007 when I was in Leesburg so it's only fitting that I finally get to writing about the spot. It used to be one giant bar space since smoking was allowed. Not sure when it was updated but it's separated now where the left side is for smoking and the right side is non-smoking. Probably one of the few bars I can think of that still allows smoking inside; good thing it's separated. Not sure how people can enjoy eating shrimp or burgers while sucking down marlboros. But that's none of my business. Now for the place, there's plenty of TVs to watch your NFL Sunday ticket, March Madness, or whatever athletic spectacles that catch your attention. Sometimes they'll have live music or trivia/contests as part of the entertainment. Either way, there's options to keep you engaged. Drink-wise, draft beers are cheap and they have some deals on NFL Sunday. With some domestic pints at $3.50, that's not a bad deal. They also do some great bloody marys for brunch if that's your thing. Food-wise, typical bar eats and they do great with those. Wings are delicious as well as their loaded tots. Peeled shrimp/seafood is available as well. The menu is quite extensive so you're bound to find something you'll enjoy while you're here. Plus breakfast is served everyday from 8-11 and extended until early afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. Most important meal of the day amirite!? Bartenders, while busy, are attentive and get you what you need in a timely fashion. I appreciate that I always had a beer and my water filled and never had to flag anyone down for that. Being in the service industry before, I recognize the hustle they do and they don't take it lightly. Definitely a Leesburg favorite and glad to stop in here when I'm in the area!

The buffalo wings, both mild and medium, were perfectly saucy and crispy with a good quality meat used. The potato skins shouldn't be slept on either, they were quite tasty and cheesy. We did get two mains, the chili mac and the chicken parm sub. Both were pretty mid- not bad but not as amazing as the appetizers. The chili mac should have been made on actual spaghetti and I think it would jazz it up. The chicken parm sub was good but too dry. Overall good service, good vibes, amazing apps.

The bar area is self-seating.I chose to sit in the bar area...the only remaining big table with high chairs/table...it was packed! The happy hour is pretty awesome here. They have daily happy hour from 4-6 pm, which is pretty awesome, starting early and ending late. There is also a power hour from 3-6, where everything on the happy hour menu is $5, which is a little early!! The menu includes regular bar food and a variety of drinks (as shown in the picture). We ordered the following: -Let that "man"go - in general it's an iced drink, so I'd avoid. -Spicy pina marg - another iced drink. It was ok. -I'm Ron Burgundy (2x)- this had a nice strong coffee flavor, doesn't come with ice; I would highly recommend it...they made it so good!!! -Maker's mini nachos - There proportion of chips to toppings was off there wasn't enough toppings and too many chips, but there was a lot of cheese. -Calamari was a good portion, and tasty -Chicken tenders - they were delicious and moist There are so many items to choose from on the power hour/happy hour menu. I would definitely recommend lil B and the wings. There was live music, which was just way too loud for such a small space. We would have been okay with all the music. There is plenty of parking available in nearby garages, I believe free after 5pm. There is also timed/paid parallel parking. Would I return? definitely!

The cozy atmosphere, stone hearth, and warm decor make it the perfect place for a date night, a special occasion, or just a great evening out. The food is outstanding. The crab dip, the housemade pasta, and the burger are all incredible -- clearly made with real care and quality ingredients. We came for brunch and ordered the breakfast burger and pork belly breakfast sandwich. We also split the avocado toast as a starter (we were starving!). The avocado toast was perfectly prepared - toast was cripsy on the outside and chewy and thick on the inside. Ample smattering of smashed avocado with the fixin's. The burger was very good and my friend said they would totally order it again. The pork belly breakfast sandwich held together perfectly despite the inside being heavy. Pork belly remained perfectly crunchy and it had a heavy helping of melted cheese that was not overpowering. If these are the seating arrangements, then maybe it would be a good idea to have a QR code or menus at the tables to browse while we wait. We ordered our drinks and when I got my water, it was extremely "tappy" tasting, which I don't really expect from a place that has a bar. I ordered a sweet tea instead, which was perfect (not too sweet). We looked over the menu for a while and I decided on the golden barbeque chicken, while hubby got the chicken and waffles. Food took a really long time to come out (no fault of our waiter, he kept checking with the kitchen). We were here longer than an hour and it wasn't *too* busy. FOOD: -Golden Barbeque Chicken - half chicken with a dry rub and then bbq sauce and comes with corn on the cob and fries. This was really, really good. It was just what I wanted - and I couldn't even finish it! The fries were crisp. The chicken had just enough sauce and was juicy, but the breast was a tad dry...but even the corn on the cob had seasoning! Yum. -Chicken & Waffles - I only tried a bite of the waffle, which was soft & crisp at the same time. A perfect waffle. Hubby ate it all! Haven't tried dessert but they all sounded yummy. Maybe next time! Prices were really fair and "cheap" (not in a bad way, but lots of restaurants have raised their prices a lot and this one hasn't). Ambiance lacked since the lights were basically turned off and the paint was worn away where the chairs scraped it. When we were leaving, we noticed our waiter was the ONLY waiter AND he was managing the bar. I think the wait had to do with staff shortage and I felt bad for him. Note: We have been here once before a year ago (when there were Covid restrictions) where I had chicken tenders (I think) and hubby had the cheesesteak. Both were really good. A good local place to visit (and they're open late!!). We will definitely be back.
