The reasons to go to coaches corner are the cheeseburger eggrolls and the hockey pucks, aka fried oreos. My wife and I went for dinner on 7/21/2024. My wife had the fajita salad. The meat was nice and tender but lacked seasoning especially salt. Overall the salad was tasty. The Chipotle ayoli is very tasty. I had the taco salad. The meat was unflavored, lacked seasoning, especially salt. Overall the salad was tasty. I do enjoy the edible bowl but that also needs salt. I had fried oreos for dessert. Delicious as always. The restaurant wasn't busy but service wasn't very good. The server actually brought the check without offering us dessert. Our server did not come by while we were eating to check on us. The only reason I got a drink refill is another server came by to clear plates and asked about drink refills. Very disappointing. The only reason I would go back is the fried oreos or maybe the cheeseburger eggrolls. read more

We have started a 'best wings in Loudoun' journey recently and Coaches Corner has definitely made the top 5 list. To start, the wings are a good size and the way they cook them is how you want wings to be cooked. You can order 1lbs or 2lbs portions and fried is of course how you will order them (if you order wings that are grilled, you need to go crawl into a hole somewhere and stay there for eternity...bye). Let's talk texture: semi-crispy on the outside and moist, tender, meat on the inside. Perfection. A myriad of tantalizing sauce flavors are available for your choosing. The 'hot' and 'honey bbq' are both great choices and the right amount of sauce is applied to the wings post fry. You will find a great mix of flats and drums when you open the crinkly styrofoam container - would it be possible to order all flats or all drums? Who knows. Try it and get back to me. By the way, it looks like they are open until 2am on the weekend. Wowwee, that's good to know. Who stays open until 2am anymore? More bars and restaurants need to stay open until 2am. Food is usually good. The ambience is a large, square space with video games, a bar, and table seating all in one area, and plenty of TVs. Busy and tight but you can always catch a current game. The staff WERE consistently 5-star. However, since the new ownership took over, we have yet to receive a correct order from the start. In the six years prior, we maybe had one issue total. When calling to have our most recent order corrected, the person who answered--John--was extremely unprofessional. He made rude and inappropriate comments on the phone, apparently thinking he was speaking to a server while on mute. He was not. I even heard her ask him, "Are you on mute?" If John is a manager, attention should be spent checking orders for accuracy rather than complaints being voiced to, or about, customers. Leadership starts with setting the example. If that's too much, there are plenty of other employment opportunities available. The woman he transferred me to was the complete opposite: kind, professional, and genuinely helpful. She went above and beyond to fix everything, even though she was not at fault in any way. She carefully boxed each item separately, double-checked the order, and apologized sincerely. She was aware of John's comments, but her professionalism seemed to be her standard approach. She should be managing, if she isn't already. Outside of vape shops and churches, Purcellville has no shortage of places serving American bar food. With so many comparable options, we will no longer be visiting Coach's weekly and will be taking our business elsewhere. We'll also be encouraging friends and others to do the same, solely due to one individual's attitude. Hopefully, the new ownership addresses this employee's behavior or finds someone better suited to represent their business and brand. We're rooting for them but they took over an established business and somehow seem to now need every win they can get from our experiences to date. read more

Food is still pretty solid -- with a couple of mishaps but for the most part we've been happy (seafood is always great!) I'm not sure if they have a staffing issue but it seems to get busy real fast some nights with only 1 or 2 servers on staff. They also recently posted new happy hour specials that staff isn't aware of -- ordered a margarita and got charged double. When I said it was happy hour she looked confused. When I showed the FB post with the new prices she said "well, this was Patron" I never ordered Patron but here we are! Love this place but we might take a break until they sort some things out. read more

Date of visit 9/8/24 My wife an I just moved to the are and are trying different restaurants. We rate this with a 2 stars rating. Four issues went into this rating. 1- As several other commenters noted, service is slow. It was during a football game but the establishment was not that crowed as there were plenty of open tables. There is a neighborhood bar vibe going on where the staff interacts with the regulars perhaps a little too much. As this seems to be a systemic issue, buyer beware that the owner is not taking this complaint seriously. Since it is a known issue that is obviously not being addressed -1 star. 2- The Server got the order wrong. I ordered a cheeseburger (The Touchdown) with american cheese. What I received was a shroom burger. Fortunately, I like shroom burgers so I made short order of it and did not lodge a complaint. But still, getting an order wrong is what removes the .5 star. There are no "happy accidents" in restaurant dinning. 3- The quality of the food. My wife ordered a Fajita salad with steak This was the biggest disappointment and even more so since kitchen staff allowed a very substandard piece of steak to plate out of the kitchen. Mistakes happen but given, and I can't emphasis this enough, the *** visible *** condition of the steak which is best described as appalling, one would be hard pressed to classify this as a mistake. It was nothing more than a piece of fat and grizzle with pockets of meat attached. The most generous way to frame this would be to stay that at best, staff simply does not care. We take off 2 full stars for this oh-so-obvious failure of quality since it was missed by both kitchen and server staff. 4- Value. My hamburger and fries were typical but hardly worth the $15.00 price tag - just grilled meat. The worse value came with the salad. For $16.00, one would expect a larger salad typical for a meal. The offered salad was barely above "side" salads found in most establishments - another half of star removed. The ambiance is that of a typical sports bar on a Sunday. It was loud and boisterous. There is no penalty assigned to this as... well, it's a sports bar. We only mention it to advise any future guests looking for a restaurant that this is not the place to go if one wishes dinner conversation - at least during peak sporting events. Verdict: Do not recommend although if you are into swilling beer and watching sports while eating typical bar food, it probably will be acceptable. Just keep those expectations in check. read more

Soccer moms and t-ball coaches gather all summer long. In the fall it's an endless rotation of NASA scientists in physics joke T-shirts, an electron, proton and neutron walk into a bar.... Between the balls, bigger than most, and the bats, swing batter swing, it makes you wonder why the music is so loud. Did you not want to hear what your date was saying? So I scored a two point conversion. A clear metaphor for a burger + BBQ sandwich which somehow came with Cole slaw. I know I'm in the minority here but Cole slaw is a clear violation of the meat code I live by. If god wanted me to eat Cole slaw, he wouldn't have invented cows (pigs not withstanding). I'll start by saying the food & portions were good....once they finally came to our table Service was SLOOOW After being seated and making eye contact w the bartender and a random server, I had to get up, walk over to the bar and ask if we had to order from the bar or if a server would ever come. I was in the area for work and I just wanted a quick bite, chose this place because it was a close walk and OMG! Seriously OMG what a hidden gem!!!!!!! The food is AWESOME! Service was quick, I ordered the Philly Cheese and fries and WOW...just WOW. It was perfect! They hand cut there own fries and they were so good. I'm kinda sad I don't live there and get to eat there more often but it will be my go to spot every time Im there. May even go there just to eat at Coaches it's really that good. Just like David H. from MD; I've started my house hunting and figured I'd get a good read on the "locals" by going to this neighborhood watering hole/sports bar. I'm glad I did. Convivial, Authentic, Down to Earth EVERYBODY. The food is well planned and prepped. Looks like everything is made fresh everyday....Sorry I missed the Shrimp Gumbo; it was still cooking! The Shrimp Taco Special for $10 had that much in avocados alone. Have I said "great value" yet? The apps others at the bar were enjoying looked great. Not just comfort food...a welcoming, reliable "go to" place for regulars and out of towners alike. Rob, the owner was a bartender for years so he has the "hospitality gene" so many places lack. Good food, nice outdoor space, the inside space was a little confusing as there didn't seem to be a check in desk, which was a little odd. Sat out on the terrace and enjoyed the nice breeze and sitting under the umbrella. Waitress was very nice and efficient. We both ordered burgers, and I substituted old bay fries for the regular fries and my friend substituted a small caesar salad. The food was good, cooked to order at our preferred meat temperature and very filling. Our waitress kept our water glasses filled and kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay. Service was good, we were checked on regularly while we watched a game. The food though really fell flat. Pretzel sticks were decent, but the french dip (french open) was mediocre at best. Meat was overcooked, too much cheese, and the bread too soft (you want a crusty bread so you can dip it in the au jus). What really bothered me though were the terrible, unseasoned, limp french fries. They were mushy and gross. Had they been cooked another 2 minutes or so (or maybe the oil wasn't hot enough?) they may have been that perfectly crisp fry. Even for bar food, I just wasn't impressed at all. Solid performer, with nice ambience. A mix of large booths, tables, and a bar, it has a comfortable feel. It's definitely a sports bar however, with 12 TV screens and food to match (burgers, salads, bar food.) Had the fish and chips for lunch, which were respectable. Service was friendly. Only knock was the cold wind coming in every time someone opened the door. A door curtain like they use in Europe during the winter would be perfect. Will come back. read more

I forgot I had been here before but I was going to meet a couple friends. Walked in, it was relatively quiet there. Service was pretty slow, which did start to get frustrating. I ordered the crab cake, no bread... it was very tasty (though I don't think it's as big as it was when I was there before). I keep thinking about that crab cake, it was honestly much better than I expected, and I want more. I ordered a side house salad.... pretty boring... acceptable but nothing to get excited about. I asked for ranch dressing... it was really thick like it was a dip, and I didn't care for that. One friend had crab soup and house salad, another had house salad with grilled chicken. Finally, another new restaurant in this tiny upcoming town of Pville. BUT, as with any new place, this little corner restaurant/pub needs a bit of work. We brought in a large party of 10 and it looks like this place doesn't really have the space for large parties. Again, they did put a couple of tables together but two of our party had to sit on the corners of table, not exactly a nice dining experience. On to the grub....it was good food but some of our burgers were already lukewarm. The burgers were very thick. The worst part of the dining experience was the slow service. At first we didn't get a server to come out but during the meal, she was there. The slow service was with the food, the kitchen could not handle the orders since the food came out at varying degrees of temperature. The wings were hot but the burgers well....like I said lukewarm. The place just opened in September, so they have a lot to work on. But, one thing to their advantage, they are just one of a small amount of dining venues in this town. read more

I came here by myself and was greeted warmly by Marcus. He sat me in a booth at the back which was perfect. I had my iPad and was tending to some business. I ordered miller lite to drink which came out promptly and other waitstaff also checked in on me when I needed a refill. The decor is fun and festive like you expect a sports bar to look. For appetizer I had the French onion soup, it was delicious. The broth was good which is important in French onion soup. For lunch I had the California, very tasty, the bread it was served on was excellent. Marcus was very attentive and friendly. I really appreciated the service and it is a real team effort operation as I saw the waitstaff all helping each other out. Overall it was a very good experience and I highly recommend you come here, either solo or with a group. read more

This place is quite the find. This is the ideal sports bar combined with excellent service and an owner who genuinely takes pride in his establishment. There were some extremely wild children running around and jumping on the bench behind us which made our visit a little less enjoyable. The staff knew the group and tried to help minimize the chaos but it was more about that group being catered to than our small table unfortunately. read more
