What a gem! The chicken salad and club sandwiches were great! The fries and home made chips were great! Would come back in a heartbeat!

Solid place for food. Real down home feel. Would I make a point to go again ... probably not, but if I was in the area I would stop in again. I got the country fried steak which was the best of the dishes. Gravy is pretty obviously from a packet, which I'm fine with. Two people ordered the biscuits and gravy and I shared my dish with them and were jealous... once again gravy was a packet gravy... nothing special. Service was great and all around a good vibe inside. Like I said would certainly come back just wouldn't make an effort to read more

Another great meal at TJs. The chicken Caesar wrap was delicious. Their ice creams are legit and the service is always friendly. read more

What a perfect start to a summer day trip! Vintage ambiance, friendly servers, and home cooked breakfast flavors! I recommend as a delicious treat that is also budget friendly. I enjoyed the perfectly cooked egg-over-easy on top of the fluffiest of biscuits. I felt nourished by the breakfast and the interpersonal connections. I recommend! read more

What a great diner to have close by when you're looking for a quick sandwich or a good breakfast or an early dinner. One of my favorite things to order here are the crabcakes. Now you wouldn't think a diner could have good crabcakes, but this one does. The portions are generous and service is decent. Sometimes it could be a bit noisy, but you kind of expect that in a diner I've even taken my friends here for lunch and they've liked it also read more

I'd go back here, but it's not 5-star dining. It's a diner, but a step (or two) above the usual diner fried frozen-food-from-ConAgra trash. The menu is more interesting and the service is good, down to earth, no fake smiles or discomfort-inducing enthusiasm. I had the biscuits with sausage gravy, and they were ok. I probably wouldn't order them again, but I would try other things. The handcut fries seem very popular. I didn't love them, but they were real potatoes and I would likely order them again. If you just want comfort food in a cozy, quaint ambiance, this is a good place to pull off the road. read more

Food is always usually good...not today.. My chips were old and soggy. (They did replace and apologized).... I had a steak n cheese sandwich. Fatty hard to chew chunks of meat on a hamburger bun ( they said sorry). They really need to shave the steak and serve on a hoagie roll I was really disappointed and didn't enjoy my lunch. I hear it was a new cook...ughhh bring back the old cook! read more

Visited TJ's Pit Stop for lunch recently with 7 other people. Upon arrival, I didn't think they'd be able to seat us, but then they took us into another section of the restaurant, which was recently remodeled. There was plenty of seating back there. The service was fast and friendly. We were given menus and our drink requests were taken. As an appetizer, we requested buffalo chicken fries and fried pickles. Both were hot and delicious. For lunch, I requested meatloaf, mashed potatoes with gravy, and green beans. A long while later, our food arrived. My meatloaf was very tasty, especially with gravy. The mashed potatoes were great, again with gravy, and the green beans were also very tasty. Great lunch and I would request it again. This is definitely a good restaurant. read more

Awesome place but the service is the real gold. Nice girls that take care of business.

My favorite place for food good people and atmosphere. Fast service when they aren't packed with customers.

We went in about an hour before they closed. Had family from out of town with us. Had a great experience before a few weeks ago. The waitress was so rude. Like beyond rude. Like yelling and snarky comments rude. The food was ok - burned fries, burned burger, meh milkshakes. Don't worry about getting off on time - we won't be back. read more

This place was ok. Typical breakfast options. The waitress was very kind! Had a breakfast burrito and it came on a green "tortilla" Was very plain. Like my food with a little more flavor. Service was fast though... read more

Great menu - we had hamburger steak, cheeseburger and a milk shake! Super!! Gravy was wonderful - not too salty! House made chips are better than Buccee's!! Good old fashioned Diner - always wanted to stop and finally had time to try it out! We will be back! read more

Fun place to stop. We wanted brunch but we got there too late. Lunch was good though. Would go again for breakfast

We came to Charles Town for a show and decided to try this place out for breakfast rather than the free hotel breakfast. That was a good choice! I can't say anything bad about this place. A real comfort-food place. Your standard diner fare and that's what we like. Comfortable booths and a long counter with stools. The home fried potatoes were probably the best I've had in a long while. The scrambled eggs, bacon and scrapple on our breakfast platters were all cooked correctly. And OMG, the biscuit and sausage gravy plate we got on the side to share??? Don't forget to try it! The restroom was super clean! Labeled for both genders, there were two urinals and two stalls and four sinks and a latch on the door so as a couple we went in together and saved time! read more

All I have to say is WOW! Food here is amazing! You can tell they put love into it. We're in town spending the night, went to the casino, came back hungry and found this little gem on yelp. It was 8:45pm and they close at 9...I called and asked if it was too late to put in an order to go, they were very accepting and just asked that we get there by 9. My bf went and picked it up. We ordered: 1) Cheeseburger- real beef patty not frozen, cooked to perfection. Toppings just as we ordered. 2) Fries with brown gravy- real potatoes with the skin, gravy was sooo good and not lumpy. 3) Chicken dumplings- woo! Dumplings were yummy and big ol chunks of white meat chicken in there. Flavor town! 4) Green beans- tasty and not mushy 5) Mac n cheese: whoa! This is like cheesey delicious baked Mac n cheese with real cheese. Holy food coma! It's literally home cooked food and it's sooo good! Brings me back to what my grandma used to make. If you're ever in CharlesTown DO NOT pass the opportunity to stop in at this place. Sorry I didn't get sexy food porn pix, we dove right in lol! read more

A really nice evening out! I've read the tremendous reviews about this place, and the five-stars were not kidding. First off, the best way to find out what the overall cleanliness of any place of business is, is to check out the bathrooms. The cleaning was as near to pristine as a restaurant bathroom can get. Ordering our food was a great experience, with our very friendly waitress, who made sure our sandwiches were presented exactly as we wanted. Then came the food. OK... the mozzarella sticks might be frozen, but they are the higher scale battered brand (versus cheaper breaded type) -- Yum! I had the crab cake sandwich and my husband had the steak and cheese. Both served with home-cut fresh fries. The meal was delicious! We have a new favorite place in Charles Town and will be back often for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. read more

A great find during our visit to Charles Town, WV. We had a family member move to the area, so it's good to know there's a great place to eat close by. Our group had a combination of breakfast/lunch, and everyone loved their meal. They were able to accommodate our larger party with just a few minutes wait. I in particular had the corned beef hash, and it was some of the best I've ever had. read more

We ordered a wings platter for the Super Bowl last weekend and I just wanna say those wings were awesome. I called at about lunchtime on Super Bowl Sunday and pick them up at about 2 PM. I got the honey barbecue, mild buffalo, mango habanero, and honey old bay wings and all of them were great. The platter came with carrots, celery, and ranch dressing and was just as fresh as it could be. read more

Breakfast was really tasty. All fresh meats, not frozen. Little pricey for breakfast though. Overall a good dining experience.

Never gotten such a "you're not from around here, are you?" Vibe lol They will serve the regulars 3 times before you even get your drink.. we've been here twice, once with a party of four, and once with a party of five.. took over an hour to get our food both times. The water tastes like a lemon cleaning agent.. Watched them bus a table, they call out unused items, like forks for example... and then re-use them on future tables... I could go on but one of the worst restaurants we have all ever been to. Oh and when you do finally get your food, it's good, not great, but you'll be starving so you'll enjoy it. read more

I went here for breakfast with a friend. Both of our breakfasts were cold, the sausage had bone bits in it and was tough as shoe leather. Gore's sausage in Winchester is extremely delicious and much better than this. No comparison . The coffee was lukewarm & not good at all. The server was very friendly. The table in the back was sticky. The atmosphere, particularly in the back is drab. Seeing clutter in the adjoining room was a turnoff. Very disappointed given some of the previous reviews. read more
