    The goooooods.

You have to really knock my socks off before I review a place after just one visit. Ordinarily, I try to visit twice so as to get a real feel for the consistency of a restaurant's food, service, etc. But, I'm here from out of town, and am pretty damn impressed. A good burger is my absolute favorite thing. Don't give me some small ass, overpriced "designer burger" (I'm looking at you, Hopdoddy BurgerFi, and others); give me - as Jimmy Buffett would sing - a big warm bun and a huge hunk of meat. This place didn't disappoint there, as long as you opt for the double. Oh, and do yourself a favor: "whizzbang your burger"; you won't regret it. The sauce is finger licking amazing. The fries are also excellent. They have a light beer battered texture, were crunchy and firm. No soggy, limp fries in the entire batch. So, why not the 5th star? Pricing. I'm not huge on having to buy the burger and fries separately. If I'm going to make a separate purchase of fries...there's gotta be MORE OF THEM. I could have eaten an entire second batch. And, you can't beat the atmosphere...Union Hall is a great little space.

While visiting the Silo area, I opted to get a burger among all the choices offered, and I was pleasantly surprised. The owner/chef was a conversationalist, but he made the burgers fresh, and they were ready within 10 minutes. Basically, it was an old-school burger with crisp lettuce and tomatoes with a slice of cheese. It was greasy enough to add to the flavor but didn't destroy the buns. I would have preferred some old-school greasy fries, but potato chips were all that were offered. Finally, the burger was good in that setting. Please try the burger if you are there because you won't be disappointed!

Mmmm holy moly...you have to try the wiz bang fries... insanely good. Maybe I'm just hungry but I've never had anything better. Burger with no bun because I have celiac so ignore that messiness. But oh my gosh the patty is so fresh and hot.. beautifully displayed in my opinion. Smells great. Tastes great. Nice employees. Great service all around. I will be coming back for sure!

Located inside union hall. Tried the turkey burger and it was really good, really favorable decently big! I typically don't always go for turkey burgers because they always taste really bland to me but surprisingly this was good!

This was an underwhelming and overpriced burger. And what's up with your 3% hidden charge?? That's just nickel and dime.

Love that that have a gluten free bun option now! The wizpig is my favorite, perfect combo of pork and beef in a burger!

Today on the drive back and as I approach Waco I thought I'm gonna find a great smash burger....and oh boy did I ever. 4.5 miles off the expressway yelp pointed me to Captain Billy Whizz...not going to lie on the way there I was concerned and I got closer more worried if I had in fact chosen correctly! Pulling in nothing special and the area is interesting.... Saw they had a drive thru and went what the hell let's do this! Ordered a double smash burger with cheese fully dressed extra pickle, tater tots sweet tea and spent $20.00...just me. What I received was a perfectly cooked and seasoned juicy burger...HOT. The bun was soft and reminded me of an old style burger from my childhood. This is a big juicy burger and everything you'd want and expect in a burger. Tatter-tots were ok...hard to go wrong with em.... The problem is the burger...it's soooo damn good you forget about the tots. My only regrets is that I didn't take a pic....that's how good the burger is you won't put it down till it's finished. Ask for extra napkins....

It was decent. Four…read moreof us, on our way to Galveston, stopped at Kim's in Waco for lunch. The place is decorated in fun 50s - 80s decor. It's very much a diner. We got seated right away around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There appeared to be only two servers covering the entire room but they did a pretty good job of it. Our waiter, a young man was quite pleasant and knowledgeable. He used an electronic order taking device and was able to customize anything we asked for, right in the device. Three of us ordered shakes. My friend loves Coconut Cream Pie, which they have and she was considering a shake. I suggested she ask our server if he could make her a Coconut Cream Pie shake with vanilla ice cream. Sure enough, he did it and it was quite tasty. For lunch, we ordered as follows: - Patty Melt with Tots (shared by my wife and I) - Kids Finger Basket with 1 Chicken and 1 Steak finger and tots - Steak Finger Basket with Tots The food was very diner diner-like (fried or flat top grilled) and it was tasty. This was a decent and fun lunch and we'd stop here again.

For dessert, Apple pie with ice cream -- good and reliable. Lemon meringue pie -- disappointing despite a well-executed meringue; crust crumbly; texture and taste didn't quite align, with a subtle metallic lemon note. After two bites, not appealing enough to finish. If you're after traditional diner food, Kim's delivers on core items. Dessert may be hit-or-miss.
