Stopped here for lunch after going to the Silos. We all have a good burger, and I was excited to share Twistd route with my friends from out of town. We also got two Coors lights and a Moscow mule. The mule is OK I've had better but not bad for a burger joint. Our burgers are delicious. We all enjoyed the burger with the peanut butter cups on it. We weren't sure if it was going to be good but it turned out to be your favorite. The onion strings were the best side and absolutely delicious. The cashier was the best cashier I've ever had in super friendly, and I loved their dinosaur earrings. It was pretty dark in the restaurant, restaurant, which could be a challenge for someone that has a hard time seeing in low light. Otherwise it was clean and we enjoyed our time.

Came here for a bday dinner as the guest of honor loves the burgers here. This place has an eclectic feel with high ceilings, jumbo tv screens and long tables for family seating. The trick is to order and sit, then have the servers bring your burger creations. While waiting, you can get a sampling of different kinds of pickles. Yea. You heard that right, all kinds of pickles... dill, sweet, spicy, it's all here. As for the burger, I chose the one vegan item this was comprised of beets and other veggies. It sounded delicious and for the most part wasn't bad except the whole thing kept falling apart on the plate which made for extremely messy dining. My dining companions enjoyed their burgers and fries. Meanwhile, I thought I ordered both fries and fried pickles, but only the pickles showed up on my plate. And they were honestly soggy. lol, flavor wise, ok. If you're looking for a postcard backdrop of Waco, Twisted Root has a wall near the pickle barrels that make for a fun photo op. Check 'em out.

Ordered the build your own burger for over $16. I ordered the basics the only extra I had was avocado. My friend had bacon & avocado added to her burger. I paid $37 for two burgers. We then ordered two drinks, one beer & one HH mango margarita (charged extra for the mango flavor?) The burger came out in good time and was delicious. I asked for mayo and it was not on my burger I had to get my own packets to put it on my burger, for a burger that is over $16. The fries were okay, too overcooked for me. The service was good. My friend had the onion straws with her burger. They were not onion straws they were regular round onion rings & they were good. I would return only if I were craving this burger. The restaurant was wide and spacious.

Holy cow patties and Dr Pepper Museum! Amazing combos of flavor in big meaty burgers! -Bun, ..didn't seem house made, but fresh, flavorful and not merely a convenience of protein. They add to the experience! -Pattie,...Ok, it's a 4 of 5. Flavor was soooo good. It was cooked just in at medium. Not sure there was another option. They were definitely meaty and good size portions. They just seemed slightly on the dryer side to me. I like a little juice getting squeezed out and didn't get that. Not necessarily dry, but not juicy. -Toppings,...fresh and creative! I left wanting to try every burger (except fake burger) on the menu. -Side Chick,... we had the Disco Fries, think Philly Cheesesteak collides with French fries and the aliens steal the bun... you end up with Disco Fries! They were delicious, but I think the aliens stole a few fries too. -Bonus! It's like the Aliens planned for you to be here and marinated pickles in their AI assisted flavor bait. Barrels of unlimited pickles in 5 different flavors. Great service, really cool creative atmosphere, and conspiracy aura to go with! Absolutely will come back to explore more burger flavor combinations!

Great burger place that I love to stop at while on the road. They have a variety of burger options. The staff is friendly and helps with any questions. I last ordered the Western burger as I love the fried onion string on it. I requested the bacon to be extra crispy and the kitchen did the request perfectly unlike most places where the bacon was crunchy but not burnt. The burger was massive for the price and it was super flavorful. The burger was nicely seasoned and the bun was super fluffy and soft. It paired well with the crunch from the bacon and fried onion strips. The pepper jack cheese gave it the flavor combined with just the right amount of heat from the pickled jalapenos. Inside the building is very cool as it is an open warehouse feeling combined with all of the concrete features and high ceilings. It makes it feel like the place is ten times larger than it really is and when they are busy it does not feel overly packed. It is darker than most places but I actually prefer that as is is a tad cool inside with the concrete but that is welcomed on a hot day outside as there are no windows. They do have a pickle barrel area where you can grab pickle chips in different flavors to either snack on or add to your meal for free which is a nice addition.

Different selection of pickles. Pick your own.

Love a great burger and Twisted Root did not disappoint! Split the appetizer with all the fried items. The fresh potato chips were amazingly crispy and not salty! Perfection. Had never had fried carrots but were yummy. Fried onions, pickles and French fries cooked to perfection as well. That appetizer can feed 3-4 people! On to the Millionaire burger. Can feed 2 people as well. So delicious. HUGE! Again, cooked to perfection. Do you like 80's music? Enjoy from the wonderful era when MYV was only videos! Took me back! Friendly service and just a fun time

We stopped at this location with family friends on our way back home from Austin. I live in the DFW area and we have eaten at the Carrollton location many times with large groups and just a couple of us, so I suggested this place in Waco since it's convenient and right off I 35 and it's always been a good place for a juicy burger. The exterior is really cool and eclectic which matches Baylor/Wacos college brand. The interior Im told used to be an old playhouse for plays ans shows in waco. I instantly noticed that while it was 4pm it was extremely dim in the restaurant. We ordered our food, and while it was steady it wasn't crazy busy as it was a random Thuraday afternoon. Our friends who we met there ordered 1 family in front of us. Their food came out about 15 min after they ordered. Ours however was only 1 extra burger didn't come out for 40min. We had to get up and ask watching people in LARRGE groups that ordered after us come out before our burgers. By the time we got our food, our friends had been finished for 20min. We had to ask about ours 2 times and somehow ours got "given to someone else" I asked how that was possible since we'd literally come up 2 times asking where it was. The food was OK. It seemed rushed which we know it was. Also the pickles which is kinda their "thing" were all empty. There were atomic only and everything else was gone. My son had told our friends about all the pickles and they were empty. With the interior being so dark, the food getting lost, and the pickles empty, it was a miss for us. We are used to the caliper of the Carrollton TX location, and this...missed the mark. Maybe it was an off day, but our friends walked away not impressed and they are from the Waco area. I usually get photos of the food but couldn't that's how dark it was in there. It's a shame we love this place in Carrollton.

    Entrance to a horrible experience.

Saturday, late lunch, and packed. Exceptionally very slow service. Attention to minor items like tea containers, napkins, and silverware were not a priority. Customer service just didn't seem to be a priority. 23 minutes in line, 24 more minutes to get our order and 11 minutes before tea was ready. Once the cooked burger came off the grill, it took 3 to 5 minutes before your name was called as they prepped it. Oh, all but 1 of the pickle barrels were empty The ambiance of this old industrial type building is also poor. Dimly lit, very noisy (concrete walls and floors) to where the background noise and music made it impossible to hear names being called. A safety tip, if you are on the raised level, make sure your barstool chair legs don't go over the edge. The food was good, but way too expensive for the lack of service and horrible environment.

This was a cool place with great burgers and milkshakes. To order you go to the counter, then they give you a card with a character or personality that they will call out: Optimus Prime, Juan Valdez, Chuck Norris, etc... We ordered a chocolate shake, two burgers, fries, onion straws, and two chicken tenders kids meals. The onion straws were Amazing! Next time, I'm forgetting the fries and doing the onion straws. My burger was the Gosh Jam It: it had goat cheese and bacon habanero jam. My spouse's had the Freshman 15: a burger, egg, bacon, and cheese. It was absolutely delicious. The chocolate shake was super rich and creamy-very glad we shared it.

We got seated right away around 1:30 pm on a Friday. There appeared to be only two servers covering the entire room but they did a pretty good job of it. Our waiter, a young man was quite pleasant and knowledgeable. He used an electronic order taking device and was able to customize anything we asked for, right in the device. Three of us ordered shakes. My friend loves Coconut Cream Pie, which they have and she was considering a shake. I suggested she ask our server if he could make her a Coconut Cream Pie shake with vanilla ice cream. Sure enough, he did it and it was quite tasty. For lunch, we ordered as follows: - Patty Melt with Tots (shared by my wife and I) - Kids Finger Basket with 1 Chicken and 1 Steak finger and tots - Steak Finger Basket with Tots The food was very diner diner-like (fried or flat top grilled) and it was tasty. This was a decent and fun lunch and we'd stop here again.

For dessert, Apple pie with ice cream -- good and reliable. Lemon meringue pie -- disappointing despite a well-executed meringue; crust crumbly; texture and taste didn't quite align, with a subtle metallic lemon note. After two bites, not appealing enough to finish. If you're after traditional diner food, Kim's delivers on core items. Dessert may be hit-or-miss.
