It was $19 but the portion was incredibly small, I think it was one of the most expensive items in the menu, if not the most and it was really small. I had to share my burger with my mom bc the portion was so small that she was hungry after eating it. Other than that, the service was great. Way too overpriced for what it was. Had no wait time and found the service to be fast and friendly The appetizers jumped out to me as more interested than the main dishes, though some of the mains did sound good. In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. My sister had a specialty dental appointment and while there Dr. Wayne Parks DDS recommended we tatty it out because they have great biscuits. The establishment is light and airy with live plants aplenty and ample out four and indoor seating. The bathrooms are universal so each commode is contained in its own water closet. It would be get if more restaurants offered this type of facilities. The food was great. I ordered a Golden Hour cocktail which was amazing. Definitely has a southern vibe to the drinks and food. I hadn't eaten at all so ordered the Buddy Holly (eggs, potatoes, biscuit, and voice of meat). I'm a bacon girlie so went with the thick sliced bacon. Everything was fresh hot and delicious. Biscuit came with sourgum butter and a strawberry syrup. I'm not a fan of strawberries but added the butter to every morsel of the biscuit. Biscuit was dense without being too heavy. Ladies trip! Enjoyed an amazing birthday dinner at Milo. We were greeted by an amazing wall of succulent plants and a friendly hostess. Our server was in training and was excellent! The food? SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! It was superb! Started with pimento cheese. Quite a compliment was made. "I don't even LIKE pimentos!" I guess Milo's has the ability to even change tastes and palates! I gave it four stars but it's more like 3.8 I've been here several times for dinner and brunch. Food is good - menu is interesting - they do great renditions of Brussel sprouts. Ambiance is good. Servers are generally good - I would say I went to brunch - and I got the steak and eggs and asked for fruit instead of the potatoes - and the server told me that they couldn't do that, it's in a bowl and all mixed up in advance. But when served - it wasn't. Minor issue. I'd say it's a bit overpriced. Servings are small but that's the boutique thing nowadays. read more

I happened to be in Plano over the weekend for a conference so since I came this far, I hopped on a bus and scheduled myself for less than 24 hours in Waco! I didn't realize that the #Magnolia properties are closed on Sunday, so I found other fun ways to get the Waco hospitality from the moment I arrived. I was actually glad that I got to see the town for what it is a few days before people traveled there from all over for #Silobration. I look forward to returning to Waco for a longer visit! Milo was recommended to me by at least three different people: my Air B-n-b host, the Waco Tours guide, and some fellow tourists in from another state as well. I walked there from my Air b-n-b and was super excited to find a place where people hang out with friends for a good meal and conversations! I was dining alone and chose a spot on the patio. There was a football game on if you wanted it, but otherwise it was relaxing and a comfortable temperature for October. Now the first thing I always try if on the menu are Brussels sprouts! It was a great appetizer because it is solid yet still light and crispy. The vinaigrette was subtle but delicious. I loved the various toppings sprinkled on top and learned something new in my pepper game. Maybe I've had them before being from CA but I didn't know there was a Fresno chile pepper. The flavor was a sweet heat and great surprise with the crispy shallots and garlic. When traveling, I want to try local wine or beer so I ordered the Brotherwell Brewing Act of Faith Belgian style tripel. The herbal fruity flavors went really well with the sprouts and my main dish. For dinner I ordered the blackened salmon and grits. I love grits but usually for breakfast. It was a rare treat to try a more savory flavor. The salmon, grits, and the delicious veggies and herbs on top all bring their own distinct flavors and textures that also complement each other well. Each bite made my mouth so happy! Milo All Day I love you!! I was in Waco 3 years ago and remembered my amazing meal at Milo. Flash forward to tonight, and it was just as amazing as I remembered! The interior is gorgeous. So bright, abstract, and greenhouse inspired. The restaurant is spacious and beautiful. Service was pretty good! Everything came out fast and our server had helpful opinions on menu items when asked! We ordered two appetizers - the artichoke and kale dip and brussels to start. They were both just fabulous and so flavorful. The brussels are very complex with slight heat, and they are cooked very well. The portion sizes were perfect for an appetizer as well. I ordered The Salad and my boyfriend ordered the mad burger. My salad was so good - it was perfect and enjoyable through every bite. The burger was good too, and I especially enjoyed the herbed fries with the jalapeno ranch. I tried two cocktails, the first being the strawberries and cream clarified seasonal cocktail. It was the cocktail of my dreams - fruity with a gorgeous vanilla note. The second drink I got was a spritz that was citrus-forward, botanical, and bitter. I really enjoyed it as well. Had a nice experience at Milo after a 5k. Breakfast Sando was nice and hearty. The avocado and aioli they put on it give a wonderful flavor. The home fries were delicious as well. The blue corn pancakes were very ok. Nothing special, and were extremely dry. They come pre-syruped and it's not even close to enough. My friend's salmon and caper toast, however, was an absolute masterpiece. I would come back and order that dish every. Single. Time. The fried salty capers are perfection. Just the right amount of salmon, so flavorful. Less one star for the super awkward bathroom. It's one of those stupid nonsense bathrooms where you share a hand washing station with whoever happens to come out of the non-gendered bathroom stalls at the same time as you. Hated that. Simplistic in the amount of options NOT in the curation of taste profiles. While I can't quite put my finger on exactly what genre the menu would be classified as, I can say it was simply delicious. The food was hot and delicious. I don't know exactly what it was called but the blue corn cake was unlike anything I've ever had. Ambiance was great and food was really good! Service was okay just had to ask for things multiple times but no issue. The salad and dressing was lacking in flavor but the chicken did help. The sando was underwhelming, by no means bad but the sausage was crumbling and avocado was barely present. The best part was the aioli and I had to ask for a side because it was a bit dry. The biscuits were very good, nice and airy and buttery. With the jelly they are delicious! Finally the Brussels sprouts. They are definitely top tier sprouts. Very crispy and flavorful. Most sprouts can't hold the crisp like these do! Enjoy a great dinner with my daughter here last night. Having never been here, our waitress Trinity took the time to explain everything to us. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts as an appetizer and they were DELICIOUS! A perfect portion for two. My daughter had the crispy beef lettuce wrap and I had the hot chicken tacos. Both of them were phenomenal! The beef was tender and savory. The tacos had some good kick to it, but pleasant. Throughout our visit Trinity kept checking on us to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Did have to wait a little for the decaf coffee because they don't keep it brewed which was fine. Coffee was your standard. The food was great. We are always looking to support farm to table and this was good. The prices were about what you would expect. It also is large enough that you don't feel cramped or like you're going to hit your neighbors. We talked to our waitress about three times the whole evening, and were missing basics like a steak knife (or any knives) and ketchup for 10 minutes after our food was served. Speaking of the food, steak entree was cold (especially the potatoes which were ice cold) the second it hit the table. I think they missed the mark on the food though. Firstly, the food came out in roughly five minutes after we placed the order, which makes me think that the food was all premade and little to no prep work. The greens in our salad were not fresh, but wilted and soggy. The brussel sprouts were good, but not fresh, and a bit too soaked in the sauce or dressing it was tossed in...and the deviled eggs had candied bacon that has the texture of a raisin...definitely my least favorite... While we were eating, our server Emily, was really great in checkin-in on us but once we were done eating she didn't come around to wrap us up and provide us with our check...so I had to get up and tell her we were ready... If it weren't for my husband having a client in the area, we likely never would have experienced this gem. He woke me and surprised me with dinner here on our drive home. It was definitely worth interrupting my nap! It's such a delightful space to walk into with the flowers and light airy atmosphere. Our server seemed somewhat new, but she was absolutely delightful. The menu is rather small, but that's because they locally source and make everything from scratch. For this reason, their prices are a little higher, so you may want to know that going in.
