Food quality and presentation was amazing. I loved the Mediterranean inspired spices and seasonings. I will admit that, for the price it's not entirely worth it. I thought flavor was great. Drinks were good too and going during happy hour made the price worth it. If you're looking for a nice night out with some good and slightly over priced food I'd say it's worth it. Service was good, maybe even a little too good because the SECOND we were done with our food someone would come and take our plate IMMEDIATELY. Ambiance was up scale and nice decor.

Stopped by for a drink with my cousin and sat at the bar. A bit early for me to drink so I opted for a coffee which was prepared and delivered promptly. My cousin enjoyed her drinks and I mine so no complaints there. The restaurant itself felt upscale, looks like a cozy place to share a meal. There were some larger booths, so there is space to seat a good group of people. Located in downtown Waco, I believe this place is associated with the hotel right next to it, so be aware of where you can/cannot park. I went during the middle of the day on a sunny Sunday and found parking in the fenced lot next to the building, but also saw tons of parking available along the sides of the street - just pay attention to the signage and you'll be fine ;)

For those of you not familiar with the Red Herring, I want to introduce an exceptional restaurant. * A beautiful environment/ambiance with much open space; * Outstanding service by staff well-informed about the menu and food preparation; * The aroma of comfort and pleasure gently floating overhead; * Delicate tastes of food. Each dish had incredible combinations of flavor. It was a wonderful experience.

Everything here was excellent!!! Food , Service & Ambiance all AMAZING !! It also helped that me and my wife were literally the first ones there lol I just wish they had the oysters but no biggie . We loved the Experience there !! Would Definitely Recommend!!

No reservations, but we were able to get a seat as they had just opened. Hostess sat us, very sweet young lady. Disappointed we sat for a while with waiters & waitresses passing us. Not asking had we been helped, not saying "someone will be right with you all" nothing. Before we were about to leave our waiter came over. I will say I hadn't seen him up until that point so he hadn't passed over us like the others, but the delay was noted. Nolan was great, from explaining the menu, to accommodating our little one, menu suggestions, etc. Food- everything was a hit, from the kids spaghetti to our redfish & oysters. Ambiance- It's nice, great open layout. Plenty of seating arrangements to accommodate different group sizes. Noticed the nice bar area when we came in as well.

Wow!! Grabbed brunch while on our way to visit family for the holidays, and was blown away. The ambiance and decor is retro, 20's speakeasy vibe.... On the glam side. The food is amazing! Their crispy potatoes are so flavorful! I got the Dutch baby, it was light and sweet. My husband got the Benedict on sourdough...he was surprised at how much he loved it...the sauce!! The menu has a Mediterranean flare, and it's all done right. If you're in town or passing through, give it a try.. you won't regret it!

The most relaxing, tapas style dining experience! Perfect spot for a date, special event, or a time out from life. Come and relax. Ask for Scotty!

Red Herring is such a pleasant surprise! It's located inside a hotel and beautifully decorated -- stylish and inviting. The menu focuses on small plates that are perfect for sharing, and the service was excellent. One of our favorites was the mezze plate, served with warm pita bread and three delicious hummus dips. Great atmosphere, great food -- if I lived here I would visit often!

Very eclectic bar and restaurant. I went a couple times while in Waco and service at the bar kind of varied - my drinks tasted better and had better presentation from the bartender working during my first visit. The playlist during my first visit was also great and I ended up staying a while to sip on my drink and enjoy the vibes. The gnocchi was fine. I loved the caesar salad. The sourdough pita was also fluffy and tasty. The hummus was okay. Overall, I enjoyed the drinks, salad, and pita the most.

One of the best restaurants I have been to in my life! I stayed in Waco 8 days and dined here 4 times once solo twice with business guests and once with my family. Environment service and food was AMAZING! No doubt a gem of a restaurant.

    This beet dish was delish!

Wacoans!! If you're not going to Red Herring's Happy hour you are missing out! We ordered one of everything on the happy hour menu, including a few drinks each and a pasta off the main menu. We were so delighted by it all! Beautiful presentation, lovely atmosphere and super speedy service. We cannot wait to go back again and more often!

This is a MUST visit when coming to Waco. The menu is always fresh and if they still have Oysters that day, grab at least half a dozen. Our favorite part of this upscale eatery is the fingerling potatoes! The service is top notch and the ambience transform you from Waco to your favorite romantic big city!

    An MEP wonder!

We came here as part of our 18th anniversary restaurant hopping around Waco and so glad we did. The sign up front said to go see the hostess by the chandelier. Good lord what a chandelier it was! This place is a mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural wonder of the world. Just check my photos of the look of the place. We got seated and met our server for the evening named Keith. He explained how Red Herring uses fresh ingredients locally sourced when possible. He recommended various dishes just based on our whims. The bacon wrapped shrimp was literally finger licking good and my Gentian Gentleman cocktail was like drinking a botanical garden. Keith made our visit super memorable and we'll certainly return to this wonderful location!

I first saw this spot while going to the Klassy Glass Wine Bar next door. I knew that I had to check it out before I left the area. When I walked in, I was really in awe of how spacious it was inside! This would be the perfect space for a dance floor. There's a small stage to your right that's used for the live bands that perform. The bar is lit up in blue and there are two large TV's that hang from the ceiling. There are several other TV's hanging on the back wall too, maybe about 10 TV's total? It's a great place to watch sports for sure. The warehouse feeling is very eminent with the sky high ceilings and industrial looking interior. In the back, you'll find a couple of different games. I can't recall all of them, but I'm pretty sure I saw a pool table back there. The bartenders are really friendly and interactive. Although this has been pegged as a "new bar", it seemed to have many regulars there who knew the bar crew (probably from the previous bar that was here called Muddle). The other people at the bar were really friendly also. I actually ended up meeting a few peeps there that I ended up going to Austin's a few doors down with. Although the crew and other patrons were cool, this place was super dead on a Saturday night! The rodeo and town fair were going on that weekend, but I still couldn't believe how empty this place was. As far as the drinks go, they are dirt cheap! My bill was under $10 that night! I had a cranberry vodka and a Stella Artois. The cranberry Vodka was a little too sweet for me, and I couldn't taste any vodka in my glass at all. This was kind of a disappointment. I was happy to pay a cheap price but not so thrilled that there was barely any alcohol. Overall, it's a solid option for cheap drinks and to watch sports. Maybe things will pick up a few months from now.
