Checked this place out because it was one of the few places open past midnight in Waco . The bartender who I wish I caught her name was great . Her drinks were so good and her service was excellent she was very attentive. It's crazy to think that a place like this in a small town like Waco has had guests at their outdoor stage like snoop dogg and Bailey Zimmerman

Visited the Silos with friends but realized quickly none of the vendors sold alcohol, so we made our way to Backyard Bar a couple blocks away for a drink and to cool off inside. Winner! This place will forever hold a soft spot for me, because I discovered alcoholic slushees!! They have a couple machines with different flavors (vodka-based blue raspberry, watermelon and margaritas). We ended up in here for almost two hours (whoops!) drinking and eating yummy bar food. Great reprieve if you're in the area and need a Magnolia-break!

The Backyard Bar Stage and Grill Went to watch the NCAA March Madness first round with Baylor vs Hartford outside on their huge screen Ordered the Fried Catfish with Fries which had 2 good size strips of Catfish and generous amount of French Fries which came with tarter sauce. Grilled Catfish with Fries were good but preferred the Fried prepared style Fish Tacos were not as good as before, soggy and slaw seemed to be not as fresh Basket of Tater Tots were generous and delicious. Good food, fun to watch the game with others. They host concerts on the weekends.

Fun decor... or me after three drinks

Cool place, had lunch with the family. BBQ was okay. Good atmosphere. Close to the Magnolia that's a plus.

Mediocre burger, slow service, no draft beer, go elsewhere. One server when we were there.

The food and service is amazing! Although it is very pricy, its worth it for the quality of food.

The staff are always friendly and the food here is amazing!! We came back last Friday to celebrate my birthday. I was so happy to find out that they now take reservations using the Open Table app. It was super easy to use and I booked my reservation a few weeks prior to getting into Waco. We were greeted by the friendly hostess who seated us promptly since we had reservations. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my husband ordered the farm breakfast. We ordered the kids breakfast for our 3 year old which came with pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. We also ordered a side of biscuits with strawberry jam. We got our food hot and made fresh to order. The croissant sandwich was filling and delicious. The croissant was super fluffy and light. Everything was perfect!!! Our son told us that he loved his pancakes. Our waiter came by frequently to check on us and make sure everything was made to our liking. 10/10 recommend for their high quality service and food. We will be sure to continue to keep coming back again and again whenever we're in Waco.

To start I had the strawberry margarita to celebrate my day off of work. It was very tasty and just the right amount of strawberry flavor. Refreshing. Since I was dining solo I didn't get any appz. I got the farm eggs Benedict and like I said the flavors were all good but wish it was as a little warmer. But it was a great portion. I ate it all! This was my first dinning experience here. There are lots of tables and the atmosphere is open and welcoming. After my meal I went to the take away area and got the lemon lavender donut holes to take home to the husband. And I grabbed a chai latte with oatmilk to keep me going for my warrants of the day. The drink was comforting and warm and the chai was perfect. Later I tried the donut holes. And oh wow they were amazing!

A great pit stop en route to Dallas…read more Came in hungry and left very happy. I got the daily quiche with fruit and was honestly shocked by how much fruit they give you. It came with this amazing poppyseed dip that made it even better. We also ordered the cheese poppers with jalapeño ranch and definitely underestimated them. They were crispy, curdy, and super addictive. The chicken fried steak was another win. Hand-breaded, flavorful, and covered in their homemade gravy. Straight-up comfort food. Dessert is a must. We got the banana pudding meringue and absolutely demolished it. It's said to be one of the owner's mother's recipes. The atmosphere has a clean 1950s vibe with retro decor and vintage car parts everywhere, which was pretty fun and different. Our server, Cindy, was super friendly and gave great recommendations. Overall, really solid experience. Would definitely come back.

The retro themed eatery with gas themed memorabilia is an eye pleaser. The meals are served in old hubcaps, just to keep you submerged in that classic ol' timeliness. Their hours can be a bit inconvenient if you don't plan accordingly to eat here (open 11AM-2PM). Don't let that stop you for adding them to your Waco vacation plans!

That's why I was genuinely disappointed to find out that the chicken Caesar sandwich has been removed from the menu. It might seem like a small change, but for regular customers like me, that sandwich was a standout item and one of the main reasons I kept coming back. It had a great balance of flavor and felt like a reliable go-to every time. Taking it off the menu without a comparable replacement feels like a missed opportunity and, honestly, a bit frustrating. I completely understand that menus evolve and restaurants need to make changes, but it would mean a lot to see fan-favorite items like this either return or be replaced with something similar. Milo's still has a lot going for it, which is why this change stands out even more. Hoping this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended--supportive, but coming from a very disappointed regular.

In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. The baked sweet potato on the other hand had a nice dose of heat from the Calabrian honey vinaigrette, the sweet heat combo worked really, I'm surprised I'd never come across a spicy sweet potato dish before, but I'll definitely have my eye out for it in the future Overall I had a very good experience and will definitely be back for future rest stop meals between Austin and Dallas!
