People usually leave reviews when they're upset or unsatisfied; that isn't the case here. I like the nightlife, and I ain't talkin' country dancin' like at Melody Ranch. I mean EDM raves and turning up w/ some hip hop. Waco ain't got that; they're terribly lame w/in that aspect-Scruffy's and Trojan are the only two I've found out of the many places I've visited in Waco closest to meeting my desires (or maybe I just went on a bad Friday night at Melody's, but I strongly doubt that). What I really like about Trojan over Scruffy's is that they play consistently good hits in the 2000s Hip Hop, contemporary Pop and Hip Hop genres, and have alcohol at a very competitive price, in my opinion. Last night, I saw people literally dancing on each other (but there really ain't no space to dance). The bouncer and bartenders are cool too, and the place is clean. TL; DR: come to Trojan's if you like great hip hop and pop, amazing drinks at fantastic prices, and service that is nice. The place looks cool too. Definitely comin' back. read more

I finally understand why everybody hates this place. I have never been to a bar or any establishment with such lazy employees. They have this loser working there with a beard and glasses that told me the simple act of pouring 4 shots was too much work for him. This place is such a joke. Trojan is a fun a hole in the wall bar in Waco! Staff are always fun and friendly, and the drinks are wild. Please see attached picture :) the fish bowls are probably the number one seller and they are huuuuge. I'd recommend splitting it with a minimum of two other people. Good music, fun atmosphere! This was my spot for some late night beer two nights in a row. Even though the neighbor bar is huge and well-known, they don't have food late at night and this place did. Both nights, I came in around 11pm and found a spot at the bar. It was pretty loud, but not so loud that I was shouting. A beer menu would have been nice, but I didn't see one...or at least I wasn't offered one. There were still a few late-night food options, so that's what I did on the first night. I had the most basic (likely microwaved) boneless wings ever, but it was fine and I was glad to find them. It's kind of like it wants to be a dance place (dark and loud, techno/pop music) but no one was really there to dance. Regardless, it fit the bill for what I needed on the weekend. read more

Went here for the first time and the satyr bartender was not helpful in any way after trying to ask him about drinks. Also tried ordering and he told us we probably didn't need to order anything else after only ordering one drink for some apparent reason. The other bartender also wasn't helpful. In my opinion they are doing something to the alcohol. I think they are watering it down. We ordered three different drinks and although I watched them pour in liquor it was basically a non alcoholic drink. It was bizarre. read more

Food is disgusting here. Ordered the cheese & queso ($3) and the flatbread pizza in pepperoni ($3) it was the worst thing i've ever put in my mouth. Queso was watery soup and the chips were reminiscent of paper mache. The pizza is a frozen hockey puck with glue-like (not gooey) cheese. Disgusting will never order from here again. read more

Another cool Waco bar-tucked-within-a-shopping-center. I started out not liking this place but it has grown on me and turned into one of my favorites. Wide, wide variety of beer and drinks, although they don't have nearly enough of their beers on draft. The atmosphere is as enjoyable on a quiet night as it is when the place is jumping (if for different reasons) and they have started having to put tables outside to accommodate larger crowds. Why I can't give it five stars yet - there is a picture of a food menu on the page, but I notice it's from three years ago and I don't think it's current. If you ask for food, you'll likely be told "We've got, uhhh, pizza, or chips and queso." The food is inexpensive and does what it is designed to do, but the pizza may very well be a frozen personal Totino's and the chips and queso are in fact stadium nachos. Granted, you go to this place to drink, not to eat, but knowing that they used to have a food menu (which I ordered from when they first opened), it is a little disappointing. They have a HUGE TV and have recently added the same free request-music-videos-from-your-phone service that Muddle offers, maybe even with more songs. If it ends up being a bad night when you go there, Cricket's is in the same building. Come back the next night or perhaps even later the same night and it might be a different story. Definitely make it a spot on your downtown bar-hop. read more

When I lived in Waco, a a lot of us went out to bars a lot, it's a thing to do in grad school, especially in Waco, where there is little else to do. Anyway, it sadly took us a while before we discovered this place. It's smaller than a lot of the other bars downtown, but I actually like that, as it doesn't get as crazy as places like Crickets. The bar within another building thing is cool too. Lastly, they have fantastic nightly specials, there will surely be one during the week that you'll like. read more

This is NOT A BREWERY! Basic selection of domestic beer and normal bar. Ordered wings and it took 30 mins when there was only one other person in the bar. The wings were gross, sauce was thick and unflavorful, even the ranch did not taste good. read more

This Place is amazing. Well layed out design, Liquid Bar Top is really neat. A must see for waco! Drinks are just right, service is sufficient. Rarely have to wait for another drink unlike many places! Music is a hip hop, alternative modern mix. Lighting is low enough to make it a great evening bar that serve appetizer until midnight and is open until 2am. Great place to make the daily stop for happy hour as well. Love it! read more

Formerly known as Bogart's, Trojan Cork & Keg has more to offer than its competitors. They play a great mix of music and offer a huge selection of signature drinks. Probably their most famous drink is their Fishbowl.... definitely a must try!! This is an 84oz fishbowl filled with the perfect blend of alcohol and mixers and blue in color to make it look like a real fishbowl. My favorite however has to be their infusion shots. These shots are prepared in large glass carafes in which a variety of fruits and vegetables are soaked in svedka vodka.
