    The 1885

Came for the 1885 a shot of espresso in a Dr. pepper over ice. I got it animal style with half and half and boy did it not disappoint. They both compliment each other well. This drink alone is worth the trip to dichotomy!! I came 20 minutes before happy hour starting at 5. They have espresso martinis and beer and wine deals.

As a huge iced latte fanatic, I have spent the last two years on a mission to find coffee shops that house-make their syrups, this shop was one of very few I have found that actually do this all but the mocha.. So of course , I made a point to go out of my way to visit when driving through Waco and they absolutely did not disappoint. I ordered an iced latte with honey and vanilla, and as someone who doesn't like their espresso too strong, I asked for one of the shots on the side (which I highly recommend if you don't like your drinks too strong - I'm so glad I did as with just one shot, it was perfect without being overpowering. The latte was Full of flavor the espresso was smooth, and had just the right amount of sweetness from the housemade syrups another reason I like is they are not over sweet ! We also tried the 1881 drink animal style (Dr. Pepper espresso and half & half), and it was surprisingly amazing, a taste I had not ever experienced Very creative and a nice change from the norm. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming - plenty of seating, a laid-back vibe, and fantastic service. Absolutely zero complaints. I'll definitely be back!

There are so many coffee spots in Waco but I knew this was the one and I was not wrong. Beautiful building in downtown area that I was able to walk to from my hotel. Amazing coffee menu that made it hard to pick but I went with a Cortado with house made honey syrup (half sweet of course to enjoy the coffee flavor). When I tell you that I inhaled it - whew it was SO good. Exactly what you want from a coffee shop. It's also a bar in evenings and beautiful inside. I would be here all the time if I was a local.

White peppermint latte with bumble bee stamped holder. Very light and delicate.

Such a cute place! Super sweet baristas working today when we wandered in. I wanted something special and asked for their recommendations. Absolutely love the little details. The cup holders are stamped with cute little designs and you can pick which one you like.

Lovely drink I can't remember the name of.

The upstairs patio was nice. Lots of seating areas. We arrived at 8 pm on a rare warm November evening and were by ourselves for a bit. We just sat and listened to all the activity going by below. Service was slow. I waited for three bartenders to finish telling stories before co.ing over to take my order. It took equally as long to cash out the tab. Indoor area is nice. Tables were dirty but we sat outside. There is a small patio on the front of the place by the front door as well. It had a good vibe just need more aware of your customer bartenders.

5 stars for ambience - absolutely loved the artwork on the walls. 4 stars for barista skill. 2 stars for coffee bean flavor - this was unfortunate.

This is a gorgeous venue. Did you know a local TX gal for all of the walls custom?! They shut down for a month to create this beauty. I was greeted by Lee (who also recommended the farmer's market which was a hit) and had an oat latte which was made to perfection by Steph. Jami was also helpful and gave great tips for my museum tour. Ladies your spirits are so welcoming, your professionalism on point, and your effectiveness was excellent. Definitely stop by!!

Came here for a coffee before a meeting and this spot is so cute! Pretty big location for a coffee shop which is always nice since they had a good amount of seating. I got a white mocha latte and it was super good. They even make their syrups in house here! Only critique is that my latte somehow wasn't super hot, just pretty warm. Overall I would definitely recommend this spot!

My youngest daughter and I walked to this Cafe to pick up our morning coffee. We loved the stunning interior. The painting on the wall, seatings, tables, and bar were really attention grabbing. We ordered large house drip and Americano. Unfortunately, our large coffees turned out to be a regular size cups pretending to be large. We thought the barista made a mistake. But no, only one size was available for sale and the regular cup was named large. The coffee itself was ok, nothing special or memorable. My Keurig at home brews better coffee. Prices was reasonable. Batista was friendly.

Sweater Weather Chai, Chai with oatmilk, coffee cake muffin.
    Lauren z.

Staff were very friendly, quick and helpful. I got the Sweater Weather less sweet, and it was good. $7+ is a little steep (esp for a store bought chai concentrate) but that's the norm for coffee shops apparently. And they have a large assortment of local loose leaf tea, so I'm disappointed that they would cut corners on chai. The coffee cake muffin was very good! I wonder where they source it from or if they make it themself though. Tasted fresh, good sweetness level, GREAT crumb and filling amount, good size

    Frai D'été

We visited Dichotomy on a Friday night to try some of their cocktails. It was lively without feeling too busy or crowded. Their bartenders and staff were friendly and attentive. We had several cocktails, with the Frai D'été being my favorite and the Dichotomy old fashioned being my husband's favorite. I'd definitely recommend going for a couple of drinks, and will probably be back to check out their coffee menu in the future.

The dichotomy old fashioned is amazing. Great company behind the bar as well. Kaylie, sky and Chris.

Wandered here while visiting Silobration weekend looking for some great coffee. I ordered their drip coffee (black.) It was their Nicaraugan coffee and it was pretty bitter with a sour aftertaste. I ended up adding a little half & half and a pinch of sweetener, but I still did not like it. I was not a fan. Husband ordered their vanilla latte and while it was a beautiful sight, it was just lacking in a full flavor. Service was OK, nothing too warm or inviting. It is a beautiful coffee shop with beautiful decor and lovely painted art on the walls. Not sure I would return though.

The vibe was really nice, especially with the purple lighting that gave the whole rooftop a cool, laid-back atmosphere. I made it just in time for last call, which felt like perfect timing to grab one last drink and take in the night air. I ordered a Dusty Road. It had a nice tart kick to it, which I liked, but I honestly didn't taste much of the honey. A little more honey probably would have balanced the bitterness better. That said, it was still a really good drink and definitely hit the spot after a full day out. Overall, Lucky Buck's was a great stop to end the evening--good atmosphere, nice rooftop setting, and a chill way to close out the night. If you're in Waco and looking for somewhere to wind down with a drink and a view, it's definitely worth checking out.

We had a 6:45 reservation and we arrived an hour early to have a drink in the bar and the hostess told us that she would let us know if a table in the bar became available before our reservation time. I checked with her once because we noticed a few tables had been empty the entire hour we were there and she said that she still did not have anything available because they were reserved for reservations. No one ever showed up and she ended up seating us at one of the tables that had been empty the entire time and she seated us 10 minutes after our reservation time! The food was OK but the portion size for the price was not good. They were out of iced tea and potatoes by 7 o'clock. I ended up sending my gnocchi back because it was absolutely terrible. My husband ordered a martini and was charged 50 cents for an extra olive and, ironically, he only received one olive on the toothpick. The service was terrible and the bartender was very unfriendly, and we would never go back!

The bar staff was very friendly without being annoying, and the beer selection was top notch, with something for any taste. The indoor/outdoor layout is fun and makes it feel like the restaurant spills out onto the sidewalk. I came back the next night for a breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. I paid 11 bucks for an enormous and delicious toasted burrito, filled with eggs, cheese, spicy sausage, and hot sauce. I'd have paid twice as much for half the food anywhere else. My buddy loved his enormous cheeseburger and the fries were bomb as well... crispy and well seasoned. I only had a couple nights in Waco, but if I had a third, I'd probably eat here again!

Plenty TV's for gameday variety and a happy excited energy flowing through the place. We were seated right away and our waitress quickly brought our drinks and took our order. We got a Cowboy, a Chili the Kid, the three sliders, a kids chicken tenders, and some cheese fries. The Dogs and the sliders were all delicious. The tenders were a bit bland but they had a nice hint of heat and the breading was nice and crunchy. We wish they had a regular ranch instead of the miso ranch as an option. The cheese fries came out cold and it looked like they just put a Kraft Single on top and stuck it in the microwave. They were a bit underwhelming. Over all the prices felt a bit high... $11 for a hotdog seems steep and I felt like I could eat 2 of them.
