Order the strawberry matcha! So yum. The breakfast sandwich was also delish. Loved the balsamic on it (I think it was balsamic). I don't see their menu online, which is a let peeve of mine. I do think our breakfast sandwich was forgotten because we waited 30-40 mins before going up to the counter and asking for it again. Though when it finally came out, we were offered a free pastry or partial refund. So, despite the wait, they were apologetic. read more

I wanted to love this place. The coffee is good taste wise but the drinks aren't made properly. We ordered 2 breves and the chick kept asking if we wanted water in it. From my knowledge, breves are half n half and espresso. Then she kept asking us if we wanted odd things in an iced latte. The breves came out, one being obviously heavier than the other. Coffee is great! Service sucked. Employee was incredibly rude. Didn't greet us or say goodbye, it was actually so rude. I always tip my baristas, but I couldn't bring myself to this time. Would be awesome with a half decent employee. read more

I really wanted to like this place. However, once you get past the ooh and ahh of the barista pulling shots in an out of service elevator, the coffee is pretty average at best. I thought there would be more flavor options available for a latte, but that wasn't the case. It's a cute little place to snap pics for Instagram if that's your thing. A friend and I stopped in after braving the rain at Magnolia Market and I'm so glad we did. The barista was so sweet. He answered all our questions about drinks we had never heard of, showed us the chocolate they use, and gave us a little back story about their products. I really wanted my go-to coffee order which is a cafe meil- a latte sweetened with honey and sprinkled with cinnamon. It wasn't on the menu, but he said he makes them all the time and would do it! When our drinks were ready he even walked them over to the table. Then came back later to check on us and make sure our drinks were good. I thought that was such a nice, personal touch. The definition of a hidden gem at the back of the building on the southwest corner of 6th and Franklin. The bar itself operates out of the original elevator shaft. Why is that important? There's one machine and one attendant, so your drink will not be rushed. Drop in and enjoy. read more

An average coffee shop that offers the bare essentials and attempts to pass it off as "Artisan." Coffee's are tiny, scalding hot, and nothing special. One barista in an elevator and the chairs have are uncomfortable. Prices are actually pretty good but if you don't like what you order or make a mistake don't expect any customer service. There are far better coffee places out there and even Starbucks is superior. Cool place to study though. read more

This is probably the nicest coffee shop to my taste. My wife and I just bumped into it by accident and ordered an Americano with a blueberry pie and we were not disappointed at all. I would give 3.5 stars if yelp allowed a half. It's better than Starbucks if you like craft coffee; it's definitely better than stopping at another fast place. Really cute atmosphere, hidden, vintage style. I like the tall open windows. However, if you know craft coffee, it's a little bit of a let down. No black coffee. Consistency of my cortado was a foamy top with thin milk under. No mugs for here. No "breakfast" or pastries. Worth a stop, but I wouldn't expect to stay. I prob won't come again when I pass through town. read more

My boyfriend had a business meeting in Waco and I tagged along. After checking out magnolia market I went to find a coffee shop to get a drink and hangout until his meeting ended. I found BRU. It's a really cute place to hangout and have a coffee. As others have mentioned, the chairs aren't very comfortable for a coffee shop, but nothing awful. I got a cold brew and it was pretty good. Came here for tea and got one of the chai teas with almond milk. It was so good!!! Amazing quality and flavor. All of the teas are organic loose leaf. I also got a gluten free cookie with dark chocolate chips that was really tasty. I would definitely recommend this place to someone who likes tea! And the service was great too! On the search for a great iced coffee near the Silos lead me to this place. The staff was super friendly listened to what I wanted and..."wow!" a perfect cup of iced coffee with just enough liquid sweetener to not over power the strong brew. There are some good specialty options - for example, I've gotten a really unique sipping chocolate here that was rich and delicious. However, for just grabbing a latte or getting coffee with a friend, you have better options in Waco. There's not as much seating or its own feel/atmosphere besides the gimmick of everything being prepared within an old elevator. The expresso is amazing, however when they consistently can not fix a menu item because of the lack of ingredients is ridiculous.
