I was hoping for the sort of coffee shop where I could sit for a few hours with a laptop and some coffee, but no. This is more cafe and they have a full breakfast menu. On this Sunday morning, the place was crowded and there was a queue so I did the right thing and didn't dawdle after my meal. A lovely ham and cheese omelet was prepared for me. It took about 20 minutes which seems appropriate considering how busy they were. During that time, my coffee was refilled twice and then another cup later. The omelet was a nice sized portion and the marble rye toast was delicious. Definitely a good meal and maybe I'll return when it's not quite so busy. This is for the downtown location! Sadly they impose a gratuity on parties of 5 or more with no warning, of 25%. 20% is normal gratuity amount. However multiple different people come to your table so we weren't sure who to even tip. Unfortunately we didn't want to leave a large tip because the service was so bad from the person who we thought was our waitress-rude, short, and never brought our waters and we had no napkins the entire time and no one checked on our table, ever! I eventually had to call someone over to bring my son a water. I won't be going there again! When servers know they are getting a forced, large tip they don't try very hard to please. read more

I think this was a cute little cafe. It gave me the small town feeling which is always welcoming to me. Our Host and waitstaff were attentive which is always a plus. The pancakes ........ so fluffy how I like them. My veggie omelette was just okay. The vegetables could have been cooked a little longer and seasoned. There was no flavor in this omelette. Would not recommend. Two tables came in after us and were served first. They either don't have a good system for greeting and taking orders or the staff is inattentive. My hash browns were delivered cold and the quiche was warm in the center. The restaurant has a cool retro nostalgia which I did take time to appreciate while we were waiting for our cold food. Not much is open early on a Sunday morning here in Waco. I checked out the menu and saw the blueberry pancakes and had to have them. Just a block from our hotel so came on over and so glad I did. Service was quick and friendly and the pancakes were amazing! It's a smaller cafe, nothing super fancy but food was exactly what we needed on this brisk morning. If you like thick cut bacon, it's a nice addition to your meal. Ordered mine well done and they came out crisp to perfection. I was in Waco visiting and went to Cafe Cappuccino around 9:30AM one Sunday morning. Decent crowd, but plenty of available tables. The staff was especially friendly, starting with a friendly hostess who seated me. My waitress was great about giving me recommendations and while eating, several people asked how my food was. I ordered a side of bacon (nice and thick!), biscuits with gravy (just okay, a little bland), and a cinnamon roll (solid 4.5/5). I'm a Baylor alum that recently went back to visit Waco, and my first stop was Cafe Capp (of course)! This place might not be as fancy as other breakfast spots in town, but it's a classic. And the menu offer something for everyone! I love that the omelets come with your choice of pancake or toast because an omelet and pancake is THE perfect breakfast combo. Ordered two breakfast tacos with turkey bacon instead of pork. I still received pork so I called and explained the issue with a lady that answered the phone. Said I could receive a remake when I was able to come back. Decided to call ahead of time to place remake order and now no one remembers. I had the sausage, jalapeños, and cheese omelette and it was not very good. The sausage was cut up into tasteless very fine small squares and the eggs tasted almost rubbery. It was almost like eating hotel breakfast. The toast was not toasted and the service was extremely slow. It was a weekday and there were only two other customers, however, it seemed no one could find their server. When they finally brought the check I just handed my card to them so that we wouldn't have to wait another 20 minutes. Been here a few times, it's one of the better breakfast places in Waco. We waited about about 5-10 minutes using the check in website to check in. Service was quick to get us drinks and take our food order. After we ordered it took a bit for our food to come out. Maybe 25-30 minutes. The music kept fluctuating in volume which was a bit distracting. Also someone was messing with the lights. The lights in the restaurant turned on and off a few times but no big deal. The food was mostly very great. Mexican mash is super flavorful. Everything was cooked really well except the biscuits and gravy was cold. One single egg on the side was charged 4.05 with surprising and a bit of a rip off since a lot of the items were just barely more than that for a larger amount of food. Other than the biscuits and gravy being cold, overcharged for a single egg, and the food taking a bit to come out it was great. We enjoyed it! read more

This is easily one of my favorite breakfast/lunch spots in Waco, which says a lot because I haven't been particularly impressed with the food in the area since I relocated. The food has always been great every time; flavorful food with a home cooked vibe and no gimmicks. The best part is that it's not ridiculous overpriced to keep up with the touristy nature of downtown. My favorite meal is the fajita omelette, but everything that I've ordered has been great. The only draw back is that they don't have a kids menu. That said, you can order a la cart items, or they can make the pancakes in small sizes instead of the giant pancake. Even so, it's still probably more bang for your buck than a kid's portion someplace else. This Cafe Cappuccino location is right downtown across from the farmers market making it super convenient.
