Arrived for brunch on Mother's Day. We had a reservation but one wasn't needed. Not busy but there seemed to be only 2 servers for the bar and restaurant. Took to long to receive service. Food took forever and was not hot. Had to send the coffee back because it was cold. Overall, disappointing. read more

The bus boy did nothing, I couldn't get another drink even if I asked. I've never been so upset in my life. Now the two one star is for the avocado toast which is bomb. I was sapposed to take my left overs home but, subpar bartender dropped the check and took my food. Then told me to have at it doing a yelp review. YO! She or the other don't need to work, like go along with the Great Resignation cause, NAW Son. But the service here is disgusting. They were not about serving me, I can't imagine why? We came for the great ratings and it was okay. The burger tasted a little like it had been reheated. The tater tots were abundant but we prefer them cooked longer. The salad was tasty and generous. It can have chicken or salmon added but I opted for no protein. It's in a hotel and so knowing that I almost didn't come in. It's very comfy but not as good as the reviews. 2nd time I've been here for dinner and ordering the burger both times medium rare. Both times came out over cooked and cold. This is the restaurant in the indigo hotel. Although for a hotel restaurant it is very good, I wouldn't recommend it for those not staying at the hotel. Best thing about this place are the restrooms. The lighting is awesome and it has a full length mirror! Do you know how hard that is to come by? The toilet stalls are complete floor to ceiling walls for the best privacy. Toilet paper doesn't feel cheap. To end a great restroom experience they have a salt rub for your hands as well. The food wasn't bad either I guess BUT definitely make sure to hold it until you get here if this does end up being your brunch choice. read more

Nice ambiance here, it was a Tuesday so it wasn't very busy. I ordered the guacamole, the presentation is 5 stars and for taste and I give it 4 stars. There were way too many onions, that needs to be dialed back. For my main course I ordered the halibut. It came with asparagus and risotto. The asparagus was excellent, cooked perfectly. The risotto was still a little hard, but the citrus beurre blanc that came with it was absolutely amazing. Now the hard part, literally. The halibut was overcooked, which was a shame. Such a beautiful fish that should be flaky was hard. Overall I would still come back here, just don't order the fish. read more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Indigo in Waco for a couple days. We ate at the hotel restaurant twice and enjoyed our experience both times. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. We were waited on as soon as we sat down. The first visit, I ordered the blackberry mojito and my husband had two of the local beers. We ordered the barbacoa nachos. All of it was very tasty! The second visit, I ordered a glass of Riesling and my husband had Dos Equis beer. I ate the chicken paillard and my husband had the stuffed avocado appetizer. Both were delicious. The plate I ordered was basically an apply Caesar salad with a thin breaded piece of chicken breast. The dressing was on the bottom, then chicken then salad mix. You t was really good! read more

Food was great. Ordered a Cabernet Mondavi for $8 and was Charged $16 for a Robert Mondavi, which was listed for $15. Waiter should have explained it and not assumed that I pay double. Will not recommend this restaurant. Very deceiving. Paid $60 for dinner. Could have went to Morton's of Chicago or Ruth Chris. Won't be dinning here any more. After leaving the restaurant I went and saw the manager Mario. I asked him if I could provide him with feedback and he accepted. He was not pleased with the service I received and refunded me some of the dinner. He was very understanding. Mario deserves a praise for listening to the voice of the customer. We decided to try something different and came here for breakfast. It is a beautiful place and the wait staff were attentive and prompt. I ordered the chicken and waffles and they were amazing ! What an absolute JOKE! Stay clear at all costs!! First issue was reservations, I called earlier in the week to get a table for 8, the phone number to the restaurant is the hotels even when you press the option for the restaurant. Finally got a hold of the restaurant and booked the table... or though I had. Knowing we had a large group and it was such an odd way of booking the reservations, I called the day before to confirm and low and behold no reservations, luckily they could sit accommodate time and size (after dining there I can see why they were so wide open) Now to the restaurant itself.... well it isnt a restaurant or at least where they sat us wasn't it was more like the hotel bar area. The food was just gross, the fry's were undercooked, my with chicken dish was basically a breaded chicken cutlet with tart sauce on it, and my steak was first WAY over cooked and the second steak was literally raw which didn't help that the cut quality was about as poor as it gets, I have had better steak at Denny's. The worst part was the waiter, he was an absolute ass! I almost never roast staff, everyone can have a bad day but he was blatantly rude, dismissive and absent during or dinner. My wife told the waiter he dish didn't taste good and he simple said "oh, want me to take it?" Which he did but not follow up on to see if he could rectify the issue. Best part is ,she had barely touched it and he left it on the bill. Now, we did expect not to pay for it but he'll at least bring it back in a Togo box or something. When we were paying, he returned my wife's credit card to me and he did that for another couple at the table, this is after they handed him their cards. The icing on the cake was when my wife attempted to communicate her disappointment in the food and his level of attentiveness he mid sentence just walked off. We asked if they were closed and he said, "well we're supposed to close shortly." We walked out. Rudest behavior I've ever had at a restaurant. Stayed at hotel last night. Room was very nice. Went to have breakfast this morning. I ordered fried chicken and waffle. I received 4 mini waffles and a small stack of over cooked oven baked chicken nuggets. Most of the nuggets were the size of my fingernail. I was told they didn't have fried chicken because they didn't have a fryer. Why is something fried on the menu? I had them take the overcooked dried out nuggets away and bring me bacon. The bacon was good. My husband ordered the Texas loaded omelet. It was about 6" long and 3" wide. It was advertised as 3 eggs. It looked like it came out of a repacked container. Staff was very nice and adjusted our bill. Hotel very nice, but I would skip the breakfast. read more

The restaurant has a new energy around it. There is a new chef that has been promoted from within that seems to really have things clicking. My family and I came by because this restaurant had great reviews. We came in and it was empty and we thought, "Wow, now we'll receive phenomenal service!" Boy were we wrong. It took over ten minutes to receive two teas, thankfully the waitress brought water for the table. She finally came back to take our order which took over twenty five minutes for a two blacken chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, and a veggie pita. When we finally received our food, we had two mishaps, cheese on one "no dairy" request and zero hummus on the veggie pita, as noted on the menu. The other two dishes were correct. They fixed both plates, but just scraped the cheese off the chicken and squirted hummus on the pita bread. We were highly disappointed because the restaurant was empty and we had to track down our waitress twice. The staff seemed preoccupied, and over an hour later our waitress came with our check. I truly hope this was a fluke of a day but we will not be returning. read more

TOTALLY NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!! We made a reservation (which did no good whatsoever) for 1:00 on Thanksgiving Day, 11/28/24. When I got there at12:53, there was a single person who got seated promptly. There was another couple in front of us who was seated after about waiting 10 minutes for the person seating people to come back. In the meantime my brother and I walked around to see that what we thought was a sit down dinner was actually a buffet which advertisements did not specify. I realized after walking around that was a big mistake. People came in after we arrived and were seated before us even though we were back waiting there. Finally, the person seating people came up and asked who was next. A couple spoke up and said they were, but even though I felt rude I said we were because I knew we had been there before them and even some others that had already been seated. So, we finally got seated and went to get our buffet food. THERE WERE NO PLATES!! We had to go and ask for plates to be provided. There was a line waiting for plates before they finally brought some out. There were fruit and cheese plates that had been thoroughly picked over and even if we wanted something there were no utensils to get them unless you took the lettuce tongs to pick fruit and cheese. Also had to wait on dressing tray to be brought out cause it was empty and the green bean casserole was cold so apparently its heating apparatus had gone out. WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!! This hotel is REALLY beautiful and I was so excited to have a meal here-but nothing went right. It's situated close to the automatic doors, so it stays pretty chilly all the time. Our table was super dirty, and when we asked to have it wiped down, our waiter was obviously annoyed. After sitting for 30 minutes, our order finally got taken, and then the appetizers came out pretty quickly-but no silverware was delivered. So again we wait. Orders get taken-but one item gets left out, so we all pitched in to feed our foodless friend. Her food finally arrived as our plates were being cleared. She was charged full price, with a 20% service charge for our large group attached. The dr. Pepper sauce on my burger was good, but other than that it was pretty basic. The fries were spicy and soggy. He did keep our waters filled though! We are currently still sitting here trying to get our tickets paid-we have been here two and a half hours and I just want to fall into my hotel bed. Beautiful dining room in the lobby of the Indigo Hotel. Well stocked bar and craft cocktails. Both the Clay St 75 and Old Fashioned were well made, not too sweet. Wedge salad was bacony goodness with lovely chunks of blue cheese. Enough to share. Yellow fin tuna tacos had a little smoke, a little heat, a lot of fresh and a lot tuna. Quite good. Steak flatbread had a crispy crust, kind of a quesadilla thing going but a little smokey with a nice chat. I think the lettuce was a little worse for wear because of being set on a hot crust, but overall a nice dish. Service was terrific. Friendly, attentive, but not smothering. A great meal. Highly recommended. I give it 5 stars for Waco. In Austin, I probably would have given 4, but it's definitely an asset to Waco. read more

My fiance and I are currently in an Austin-Dallas long distance relationship. So, this week we decided to meet in Waco, middle ground for the two of us, and boy were we excited to find this little gem! Nestled inside Hotel Indigo, it's a small little hotel bar with a few tables and patio seating along the river (I presume. It was too cold to go outside, so I'm not positive, but the name leads me to believe it does). You can seat yourself, so that's an extra plus. We went at 9PM on a Saturday night so it was not too busy, but the service is top notch. Bryce, our server, greeted us with a smile, chatted us up about the hotel and restaurant, and helped us make the best choices of food and drink. He also greeted a group of ladies who walked in after us, who knew his name, leading me to believe that his excellent service brings regulars through the door. We got the stuffed avocado (great smokey flavor, a tad on the salty side) and the sopapilla cheesecake (OMG, HEAVEN!). To drink, I got the Kiss of Jasmine (not too sweet, not too bitter, just right). Next time we meet up in Waco again, we will definitely be staying at the Hotel Indigo so that we can be within walking distance to this lovely bistro. read more

I'm writing this review before I have even eaten I have been sitting at my table (Sunday brunch) for 1 hour and 8 minutes...I ordered 48 minutes ago. Finally at 1:12 food came (half wrong) but I'm maintaining my patience because of such good reviews. When you come in hungry, with a reservation, and have to ask for someone to come to your table after 15 minutes (hostess for us water and apologized) trainee put in our order. Manager tried to rectify, it almost doesn't matter how good the food is. It's good. But I cannot say amazing. Maybe everything else ruined it for me? Stag. Was nice, when we saw them. The cheese plate was a 5 out of 5. I ordered a bottle of the Malbec which paired very nicely with the arrangement of cheese and meats on the cheese plate. Not sure where they got the grapes on the cheese plate, but they were the best grapes I've ever had. The pork chops had a great smokey flavor but I think they could've had a better seared crust. It came with a bacon loaded baked potato and heirloom carrots which were prepared nicely. As a local Wacoan, we have watched this place go from excellent to not great. We decided to give it another try yesterday and am so incredibly happy that we did. The food is better than it ever has been and Crystal, the head chef, has reworked the menu and clearly knows what she is doing. The waitstaff were super friendly and the place just has a vibe. The bbq chicken flatbread and the bourbon peach pork chops were both divine. We love it and will continue to make it one of our local go to's, because it is just so good. read more
