Cool little place with a friendly dude behind the bar! We are here for a BU football game and are staying in their parking lot with our RV (HarvestHost) and came in to patronize our host. It's early afternoon on a Saturday, so it's pretty chill, but I can see where it would get cranked up after a game- may get exciting later! Now, if you're a beer lover and see the row of taps along the wall and there's too many to count at first glance you definitely know you're in the right place!! Bare Arms Brewing is the place to be in Waco! With a large selection of brews, plenty of seating, games to play and delicious grilled food, you can't go wrong. We started with a flight to find our favorites, ordered some food and then just sat back the rest of the night and enjoyed all the company of locals and visitors. The flights are generous so no problems finding a favorite. We also enjoyed a tour of the brewery where the owner gave us an in depth overview of the brewing process. Bare Arms is also a Harvest Host so we were able to stay the night in our RV in the parking lot without worries of driving! With excellent service, food and brew, Bare Arms will always be at the top of our list of Waco hot spots! read more

Third and final stop for fam's brewery crawl! Honestly, it was a bit of a challenge trying to figure out where we would do our final run, so we all did our bit and did our online searches. Then someone said, "Hey, this place has axe throwing!" And since the rest of us didn't bother doing further research, we all agreed to go! And were disappointed when we learned axe throwing is no more. Even more disappointed they didn't have hef or any kind of wheat beer. Just as well: I was assigned DD. But what they do have is a bunch of board games! We had zero intentions of using them but it's good to know it's there for those who may be interested. But I won't deny I had a taste of their Java Joule. (Been a minute since I had a coffee-based brew) and I'll admit I liked what I had. What I appreciated more is its hint of sweetness. The other thing they had that we all really enjoyed were the moveable seating! That was interesting! It's too bad they didn't have the axe throwing available. But at the same time, that might be a good thing: after all this is the 3rd brewery fam has hit for the day! Good first run! It was a good way to wind our brewery crawl down. read more

Great little hidden brewery on the south side of town. The service was really good, lots of seats and tons of different table games to choose from. The beer? Not so good. It's was mediocre homebrew in my biased opinion. The beers were very watered down. Nothing was spectacular but for a local place in Waco it's not bad. We were diving back to Austin from Dallas and decided to stop by Waco to break our trip up with our dogs. We were greeted very kindly by Reed and got the thumbs up to bring them into the establishment. Whatever you're into beer-wise, they've got it. My girlfriend got the "I'm Your Huckleberry Blueberry Kolsch" and I got the "Java Joule" which were delicious! For food, I saw they had tacos and you get two with a choice of meat so we got one pulled pork and one brisket and the brisket sandwich made with the Java Joule beer (look at me all pairing things like a grown up :-) I'll definitely stop by again next time I'm in the area! read more

This is probably my favorite place in Waco! Thank goodness Kevin and Jill (the owners) bought this place and turned it around! I was amazed talking w/the owner Kevin. He had a background working with the original Sierra Nevada team! He takes his water down to a completely blank profile, and then adds the right salts and minerals to build his beer profiles from the ground up! Like... who does that? If you are drinking his Belgium Pale Ale, he has built the water to taste like it's from a specific place in Belgium. THEN, he starts making the beer. I guess if you don't have the right water, you'll never get the right beer! I've had around a dozen of the different beers (and no, I'm not a mug club member yet... but maybe soon! It's not that expensive) and the guy just doesn't make a bad product at all! Let all Beer Knurds rejoice! We were visiting from California and stopped in after a Baylor basketball game and what a treat! Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed but we decided to stay for a beer. They were so friendly and we stayed almost until they closed. For the beer...my parents had the Santa's joules, my husband tried the Covid Cure: Omicron Variant...hilarious name. He really enjoyed it, it was hoppy and citrusy. I tried the Scotchy scotch ale. It was so, so good! Easy to drink for a beer with a10.5% abv. Last, we sat at a very fun table with seats that rotate and move all around. My kids absolutely love them...we had a good time sitting on them as well. This place was a great find to grab some brews before the jaunt back to Austin. First off, who knew Waco was "cool" now? Second, this place had some surprisingly good beers for such a new-ish (they are 3yrs old) place. The ambiance is very chill, and Ron, the guy behind the bar was so nice! He was also a wealth of knowledge regarding anything and everything Waco! I did the flight and each beer I had was pretty true to style w/my favs being the 1849 and 1849 barrel-aged as well as the Java Joule! It was also really cool talking w/one of the owners and being a total astronerd! Everyone was just so welcoming, gracious, and kind! The wife of one of the owners even gave me a rec on where to find a local bluebonnet field! They also have a cool "mug club" and there was what looked to be a delicious pizza food truck in the parking lot. It looks like it is popular w/locals and has its regulars as the place started to fill up about 30mins or so after I got there. Will def be back if and when I am in Waco again as the vibe here is something I mesh with well! read more

We came here to try the beers . There was 3 of us and we all got a a flight of beers . The bartender was amazing and was very knowledgeable about all the beers . Man oh man were some of them good !! We like the darker beers the most . I wish I had gotten her name , but I forgot . We were there on a Saturday around 2:00. You can even bring your dogs inside of you want. They also serve food . Lux Lager - tasted like dirty water Bluecat Blonde - just ok Nebulous Berliner - yuck, flat, tastes like a cider 1849 Vienna lager - pretty good Turbulence - smells like sweat, big turn off when trying to drink Coffee stout - rich, bitter after taste Kolsch - super light. Tastes like the Lux April Bomb Hef - wheaty, bitter Bartender was very nice & super funny. Super chill guy. Laid back atmosphere. If you're in the area and are thirsty, stop. I'm not a huge beer drinker, but the flights were generously poured. Beers were ok. I preferred the two amber color ones that most. The dark beer was too dark for me. Read great things. Got there before 3:30 today (Thursday). About 5 people in the place. Sat at a table for more then 5 minutes .. no acknowledgement.. so walked up to bar and stood for 5 minutes .. no acknowledgment.. went back to table and waited more. We love to go beer tasting so decided to try this Waco brewery on our drive from Dallas back to Austin. The outside is very nondescript and almost looks like a closed business. But don't turn back and go on inside! Very roomy, lots of tables and great game selection. The beers that we had were very good. Being a fan of sours, I had the Nebulous Tart and it was the perfect amount of tartness for a full pint (and only $5 a pint!). Husband enjoyed the Turbulence IPA which he described as a "malty IPA". We stopped in here for a quick bite and a brew en route to Austin. The beers were delicious and the staff was super friendly and engaging. We were even allowed to bring our dog in with us to lay down at our feet under the bar, which was nice because we'd been on a long road trip and so it was nice to be able to include him. We had to eat elsewhere because the smoker was just getting up to temp when we got there and there was minimal food available, but we didn't mind. The inside is really cozy and we had a wonderful time. It was a great pit stop and we would absolutely stop here again if in the area. read more

Hidden little gem in the middle of nowhere lol. It used to be a garage. It's located in a plaza next to a liquor / smoke shop or something. Sketchy parking lot. Sketchy location. They brew the beers in the old garage portion. Workers were cool and friendly. Beer was good and cheap. They have games to play. We ended up staying for awhile and playing cards against humanity with the workers and a couple other patrons. My wife loved the chocolate coffee beer. read more

Road trippin' 35 south and used the yelp app to find a brewery convenient for a little pit stahhhp. Wasn't driving so chill Bare Arms hit the spot! Highlight was certainly the wonderful staff & friendly locals. Had the flight of 6 flagship beers and really enjoyed tasting my way through their offerings & chatting with bartenders and new friends. Beer was solid, with my fav being their stout. I didn't eat but noticed pizza menus on the bar, not sure if they cook on site or if it's delivered. This place is a really cool, low key brewery. In a strange location unlike your typical brewery, but not terrible. It's rather large inside, but never packed so it seems empty. Overall, it's very relaxing and a place to go chill with friends and talk without the loud bar scene happening. The bartenders are so nice and very helpful when you're trying to decide the beer you want. They have a sampler where you can choose six beers, so you can satisfy any craving you're feeling! My favorite was the blue cat. It's a light beer and has a great crisp, pungent taste. You can try any beer before you commit!! Woohoo. I also tried their root beer flavor, though it was nonalcoholic. It'd be really cool if they added alcohol to it.. ;) We spent over a certain amount, so we got a free six pack. That was an awesome incentive! I'll definitely be returning. read more
