We came here on a hot summer day looking for something to make this best bearable and that's exactly what we got. The beer from this brewery was AMAZING and the staff were so welcoming to us. While they do not have a lot of options as it is a local craft brewery, everything they do have is delicious and I will definitely be returning here next time I'm in Waco. They have a lot of board games and card games that you can grab and take to your table which was really nice to have especially while drinking with friends. The restaurant also offers various pizzas and the 2 that we had were delicious! We had a garlic meatball pizza and a pizza with all the meats! I totally recommend giving this place a try. read more

Do not let the curb appeal fool you, this IS an actual brewery with a tap room! Once you enter, the staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable about their product(s). I recommend the Lux Lager, 1869, or Turbulence. Have different tastes?, just ask and the team will be sure to recommend the tap that will best fit your palate. Great little gem of a brewery in Waco. The beer here is serious. We had the barrel aged Trebuchet, which is damn near perfect at 11% abv. Creamy pumpkin stout, but not overly spiced. The Java Joule is strong and delicious, but you taste the coffee, not the chocolate. Still a great beer. The guys behind the bar are very knowledgeable and friendly. They could tell us about all 11 beers on tap in detail. They offers crowlers, fill growlers & sell flights if you are so inclined. And they have a great selection of geeky games to play as you pass the time. Card games & board games. BBQ trailer out front, but we didn't partake. This time, at least. This place is small but genuine. And enough to entice us to return. I definitely enjoy drinking good beer with real people, and that's what you get here. I have been to a lot of breweries..at least 100, probably way more. Based off of taste alone, this is honestly one of the best that I've been to. I tried all six of the beers on their menu and I liked all of them. It is rare that I like all of the beers at a brewery, but in this case I did. Don't let my three star review keep you from going to this place. BAB is not bad, it's average - maybe even a little better than average. They had a reasonable offering of beers although we only sampled two - Lux Lager and Turbulence IPA. My wife had the lager which was an unimpressive beer but good for those who are not crafties. The IPA was just as described by the server as malty and hoppy without the feeling of having a pine tree up your nose. Neither beer was great but both were good. The brewpub area is on the smallish side when the events room is in use as it was when we there. Again, nothing compelling, not much charm but it was air conditioned which is better than many warehouse style tap rooms. Bar service was good and the server was well informed and polite. I would go again, I've just been to places that I was more impressed with. read more

Not much going on they had music playing for about 15 minutes then it just shut off. When I asked about the hops and methods the bartender had no knowledge of the beer or how it was brewed, he told me "I like beer like i like my hot dogs, I would rather not know whats in it." disappointing when all you serve is your own brews. read more

Beer flight was ok. 5 of 6 beers very tasty but did not care for the berry beer. Place was recommended by a local but when I mentioned that the bartender was not friendly and could care less. Not really made to feel welcome. Would not go back which is sad because I like to eat and drink locally whenever I travel and we had money to spend here. read more

Other perks is the friendly staff, options to great board games and video games. They offer trivia nights as well. Bare arms brewing is a great place. We stopped in while waiting for Magnolia Table (right across the street) and stayed for a few hours. Actually canceled our reservation to stay a while longer. Good beers, very nice staff, gave several recommendations of local sites to see and places to eat. And Bbq too. We spent a couple hours here...they have board games and card games to play...super fun family place. local patrons were so nice recommending local places to eat. Triple B's Bbq (on site) is awesome. We had the 3 meat combo, nachos with pulled pork, and street tacos. The Hawaiian pulled pork was excellent as well as the street tacos. The slaw was a bit spicy for my taste. My favorite beer was the Blue Cat Ale, very good flavor not too hoppy, goes great with the bbq. read more

We were from the midwest and decided to visit Waco for a few days. We were trying to hit any open breweries during our time there and happened to find Bare Arms. We definitely were apprehensive when driving up to to the building, but once we tasted the brews we knew it was totally worth it. Definitely some of the best brews we tasted while down South. The beer is great. And cheap. Perfect combo. The people are even better. Yes, the location isn't pretty/fancy. But to me, that means it's legit, and not trying to be anything more than a place to get good beer and have a great convo with the people behind the bar. I also think it's interesting that whether you're wanting a college guy's night out, or a mom's night out, or anything in between, this place feels right for everyone (I've been to places where I felt it was a bro's hangout and I didn't really fit it). This is a small place that's only been open for a year. However they brew some incredible beers. The IPA & coffee stout brewed with locally roasted coffee are amazing. Great craft brewery in Waco. Coming from PA this place matches and exceeds many of our local stellar breweries. The coffee stout is delicious and the pale ale was enjoyable. I really enjoyed their lux beer. Unfortunately it was all we got to try. The place is only open for 2 hrs. When we tried to order a second beer at about 10 minutes before closing we were told the taps were closed. So really, they're open for an hour and 45 minutes. read more
