So yall...listen up!!! Came to Waco for a quick weekend getaway and wasn't expecting to come across this gem. Upon walking in, the owner himself greeted us and gave a quick tour of the place and explained how everything works. I immediately noticed how much thought went into the decor and the concept of making each guest's experience enjoyable. From the selection of wines, the soft playing music in the background, the customer service, and overall vibe, this place for sure needs to be put on your list of "must visits".

A Christmas-Eve-Eve Kindness We Won't Forget On the eve before Christmas Eve, we stopped by Meet Me at Marie's and found the doors already closed. The owner was technically off for the night--but when he saw us trying the door, he welcomed us in anyway. What followed was such a wonderful, unexpected experience. That simple act of kindness turned into a cozy, memorable visit that felt personal and sincere, not rushed or transactional. It's rare to find places like this anymore--where hospitality truly comes from the heart. Thank you for the warmth, generosity, and reminder of what the season is really about. We'll absolutely be back, and we'll be telling others to meet us at Marie's.

The highlight of our recent trip to Waco was our nightly wine tastings with Sidney, the owner of Marie's Wine Bar. It's a cool and cozy place in the middle of the best block in downtown Waco on Austin street. Get a bottle or do a tasting with a card swipe system on one of the machines along the walls. Highly recommended!!

Me and my friend stopped and asked if it was possible to use the restroom, the owner was extremely disrespectful about it, in front of other customers, he spoke so disrespectfully to me and my friend when we simply tried to use the restroom. If the restrooms were for paying customers only, I did not mind buying a few drinks but he wasn't even the slightest bit welcoming. I do not recommend this place for new customers.

You can come for appetizers and wine tasting or dinner and wine by the bottle. Seating includes a covered front and back porch. The service was like being waited on by friends. They were so helpful in explaining everything and, if you're inclined, they're happy to talk about what they've built here together -- Mother, Son, and Daughter-in-Law, all working in harmony to make this place sing. We've tried a number is wines and dishes get. The Pintxos are amazing. The Tapas are totally on point with our favorite being the Albondigas meatballs. And the charcuterie featured really high quality chorizo, Serrano ham, Manchego and Mahon cheeses, almonds, grapes and an amazing quince jelly that's firmer than a standard jelly and quite delicious. Well be back. And we'll bring friends :-)

The Burger was good but the steak bowl was very disappointing. It was $19 but the portion was incredibly small, I think it was one of the most expensive items in the menu, if not the most and it was really small. I had to share my burger with my mom bc the portion was so small that she was hungry after eating it. Other than that, the service was great. Way too overpriced for what it was. We kind of regretted going, especially because so many people recommended us to go.

In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. The baked sweet potato on the other hand had a nice dose of heat from the Calabrian honey vinaigrette, the sweet heat combo worked really, I'm surprised I'd never come across a spicy sweet potato dish before, but I'll definitely have my eye out for it in the future Overall I had a very good experience and will definitely be back for future rest stop meals between Austin and Dallas!

We started with the pan-roasted romanesco, which was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. The bread service with compound butter was a standout on its own: simple, but done at such a high level that it set the tone for the entire meal. We grabbed seats at the bar, which ended up being a great move. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, and we enjoyed several glasses from their excellent wine selection. Our bar tender was knowledgeable, welcoming, and she made the whole experience feel elevated without being pretentious. For entrees, my wife ordered the chicken and fries, crispy, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. I went with Blaine's burger, and I don't say this lightly: it's hands down one of the top three burgers of my life. Perfectly cooked, beautifully balanced, and unforgettable. Blaine's is doing something special. If you're in Waco and looking for a place that nails both food and experience, this is it. We'll be back soon.

Presentation of the dishes was attractive and thoughtful, and we were pleased with our wine selections. We started by sharing the poblano corn chowder. Unfortunately, the dominant impression was salt. The soup was more of a brown, creamy sauce with chicken and corn than the aromatic, herb-forward poblano chowder I was expecting. Beyond the saltiness, there wasn't much depth or complexity of flavor. For entrées, we ordered the steak and the ahi tuna tomahawk. Both were visually impressive, but once again the overwhelming characteristic was salt. The tuna may have had a hint of tarragon, but it was difficult to appreciate much else. The steak was exceedingly salty--surprisingly so, even for someone who is not shy about using salt. Service was courteous but somewhat inattentive and slower than expected. At this price point, I would have hoped for more attentive service and a broader range of flavors rather than repeated assaults on the sodium receptors. One final curiosity: water was served in what appeared to be small jelly jars, which felt a bit odd given the otherwise upscale presentation. Overall, Blaine's gets good marks for ambiance, presentation, wine, and especially the live music. Unfortunately, the kitchen's heavy-handed use of salt overshadowed much of the meal. With more restraint in seasoning and a bit more attention to service, this could be an exceptional dining experience.
