Tomato Bisque with a half grilled cheese sandwich.

If ever in Waco, this is the place to eat! Wow! I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. We showed up for lunch on Valentine's Day while visiting Magnolia Market and received outstanding service from the moment we walked in. Loved chatting with the waiter who is quite knowledgeable and he recommended some great food and beer. My husband was very impressed! I highly recommend them.

Fish and chips

We came here because a couple months back we had a very good experience. I decided to come back on a weeknight with my kids since they really enjoyed their fish and chips. Unfortunately it was not what we expected. It was the same taste however the portion shrunk 50%. The cost was the same and when I asked the server if this was their lunch portion she said no that they had reduced the amount of food they serve because most people were only eating 2 of the 3 fish pieces. I understand raising prices because food costs have risen but to reduce the value you offer is never a good idea when it comes to running a business. I don't mind paying for value but when portions are reduced we have to take our business elsewhere. Wish I could rate higher but it was a disappointing experience. The server was friendly so I can't complain about the service.

The food was decent. The risotto rice was not the best but the salmon was soft and juicy. It was well cooked Schnitzel was good and authentic

Wonderful food, friendly service, and great atmosphere! Another great addition to Waco. I had never had Schnitzel, and they do not disappoint. Great locally brewed beer too!

I even bought a mug!!

We got lucky finding this restaurant. I got the pork shank and it was fantastic. The beer was excellent too; brewed right there on site. The place doubles as a hotel too. The atmosphere was nice - comfortable. Our waitress - Megan - was very good; a real pro. I got the red velvet cake to go. I just ate it today two days later.

Service was outstanding. If you like good sausage get the sausage platter. It was truly amazing. If I lived in Waco I'd come by every week for this. Wish we had this resturant in Phoenix.

It is Mother's Day 2024 and they were super busy. We did not have reservations so they sat us at the bar. We had to ask for menus after 10 minutes. After we made our order, the service got better and we were served promptly, and the staff took good care of us. Thank you! We had 2 vouchers for a beer since we're staying at The Pivavar Hotel. The Vienna Lager was delicious. I had a glass of Malbec wine. The cheeseburger came with a soft pretzel bun and was very good. I had the Ancient Grains Salad with added Salmon. The Salmon was delicious. I didn't ask if it was wild caught or farm raised. They do not have GF or Vegan choices. It's a GF friendly but if you have Celiac, be aware they don't have options. Recommendation... the barstools should about 3 inches taller due to the bar height ..you sit lower in the barstools and your plate is just above your chin. (just my Engineer speaking) All in all, I would give this a 3.8 star because they did come through in the end. Thank you kindly.

Good food. The beer they make is solid. The whiskey selection includes Balconies, Weller, Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare. Staff was attentive. A/C was nice and cold when we visited in late June. Chairs are comfy.

Creme brulee cheesecake

A combination Czech brewery/restaurant/hotel/beer spa, Pivovar offers a one-of-a-kind experience. We paid the restaurant side of the operation a dinner visit and had an all-around terrific meal. The ambiance here is attractive, blending wood and green leather with a view of the brewery. Our server for the evening (Ian?) was also tending bar, and he handled both roles capably without breaking a sweat. A manager later came around to check on us, which speaks to a dedication to customer satisfaction. Pivovar's drinks menu features pilsners and lagers brewed in-house while the food offerings have a Germanic bent. You can still eat lighter here (salads and sandwiches), but anyone looking to indulge in sausage, schnitzel, or steak will be pleased with what's available. My wife and I split a pretzel starter and then opted for the sausage platter and the classic pocket schnitzel, respectively. The pretzel was large, soft, and well-salted, and it came with a trio of dips. Of them, the beer mustard was commendably robust, but the honey mustard and beer cheese were more enjoyable. The sausage platter included what appeared to be a bratwurst and two other sausages alongside corn ribs and sauerkraut. All of the sausages were tasty and offered a firm bite while the corn tasted fresh from the grill. While the schnitzel would have benefitted from a vegetable pairing, everything on the plate was excellent, from the garlicky mashed potatoes to the schnitzel's crisp batter, juicy pork, and cheesy filling. Dessert options included a crème brulee cheesecake that I couldn't pass up, and I'm glad that I had enough room for it. The graham cracker crust had spice notes that reminded me of carrot cake, and the thin layer of sugar topping was very satisfying. My wife also spoke highly of the dark lager. Pivovar isn't cheap, and some of the menu offerings seem like reaches (i.e. $18 for a meatless salad). However, our entrees ($21 and $19) were reasonable for the quality of the food. That Pivovar offers a kind of cuisine I don't usually find made it attractive, but the combination of ambiance, service, and well-executed food made it memorable. Do yourself a favor and Czech it out.

Charcuterie board was amazing! The jam was so good

Delicious! Great authentic food and the beer was fantastic too! Very nice decor and service. You have to pay to park in their back parking lot, even during the day which is nonsense considering it's empty. I can understand holidays and the evenings with the silos being next door, but not on normal days. Maybe I'm missing something there? Not sure.

And can we talk about this crème brûlée cheesecake?!? To die for! HBD to me!

Great food and beverage! Fun atmosphere. The Schnitzel and Pivovar cream sauce with mushrooms was definitely our family fave dish ordered!

I've had the Chicken Parmesan pasta, the Margherita pizza, and the Pepperoni pizza. Each of them was above average. The Chicken Parmesan came with a nicely breaded and cheese-covered piece of chicken with spaghetti and two pieces of garlic toast. It was good, though it could have used a little more red sauce. Pizzas are available as 20" or 14" pies, and certain ones you can get by the slice. The crust is medium thickness, light, with a soft core and a crispy outside. The Margherita was good but I preferred the Pepperoni. Overall, both pizzas were above average. I especially liked the crispiness of the outside of the crust. They also have salads and wings. Dessert consists of cheesecake or funnel cake fries. I haven't tried any of these yet. There is an inside dining area, a bar area, and an outdoor patio area. The inside is shared with Common Grounds coffee shop and Heritage Creamery ice cream shop, a couple of other local favorites.

That wasnt my biggest concern though. Slow rise has been my favorite pizza spot. I usually go to the one on the brazos but it was my first time at this location, after listening to the loud people talking and supposedly were also working. I was trying to enjoy my favorite pizza and when i look down to get my next bite there is a hair in my pizza. I try to take it off because i do have dogs so i wasn't certain if it came from me. It was a blonde hair and when i tried pulling it out it was under the cheese and intertwined INSIDE the pizza. After that i felt nauseous and i dont think i will be coming back. The service was mediocre to say the least and the hair inside my pizza made me want to vomit. Sad to write this review but even sadder i had to experience this at my all time favorite pizza place.

We were the only ones there for awhile so I was getting nervous as to why lol ... but the place filled up pretty quick . They had some giveaways on the Super Bowl, who doesn't like free stuff ! Nashville hot wings were HOT and bangin!!! The pulled pork fries were good too !! Our bartender was quick and friendly , the manager came around a few times to check on us and she was cool as well. Decent beer selection. I'd come back another time as they have a lot of beer, some mixed drinks and what seemed to be a pretty big menu ! Big place. Lots of seating. Lots of TVs. My Think Pink drink was good, but overpriced. They don't have prices on the cocktail menu, and this felt more like a $9 drink than the $12 it turned out to be. My husband's beer was very well priced, I thought, at $6.50 for an IPA. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It wasn't tossed in buffalo sauce, just unevenly drizzled on top so the full sandwich wasn't covered. He asked for a side of sauce to finish the job and we were charged $0.50 for it. He was also charged $0.50 for a side of ranch for his fries. In general, I just don't agree with charging for condiments. I had the Alehouse Burger and it was fine. It had a bacon tomato jam so I thought it would be okay without condiments, but it was dry. It needed pickles. None of the burgers on the menu had pickles. Burgers should have pickles. We weren't given a kid's menu when we were sat, so I thought they didn't have one (it's a pub, I get it), and I tried to just order a side of mashed potatoes for my son. Our server was cool with it and was able to ring it in (because she later had to take it off the ticket) but the kitchen told her they don't serve individual sides which is very odd to me. You have a button for it on the POS, you can serve a side on an entree plate, so just put that amount on a side plate. It seems like a very easy way to cater to your customers. The sun really shines through those back windows in the evening. Some pull down shades would be a huge improvement. It's a beautiful view, but not when the sun is setting and blazing into your retinas. Overall, food was mid, prices were a little too high across the board, service, as always, was great.
