A hair inside my favorite pizza
    Karla F.

Came here later in the afternoon and i was completely displeased to say the least. The workers were unprofessional while on shift it seemed they were going back and forth to a table of what it looked it were their friends and speaking very loudly to the point the entire establishment could hear them. That wasnt my biggest concern though. Slow rise has been my favorite pizza spot. I usually go to the one on the brazos but it was my first time at this location, after listening to the loud people talking and supposedly were also working. I was trying to enjoy my favorite pizza and when i look down to get my next bite there is a hair in my pizza. I try to take it off because i do have dogs so i wasn't certain if it came from me. It was a blonde hair and when i tried pulling it out it was under the cheese and intertwined INSIDE the pizza. After that i felt nauseous and i dont think i will be coming back. The service was mediocre to say the least and the hair inside my pizza made me want to vomit. Sad to write this review but even sadder i had to experience this at my all time favorite pizza place.

Stopped by Slow Rise Pizza for a casual Sunday afternoon out and was really impressed with the quality of the food. The pizza was absolutely on point--perfectly crispy crust, flavorful toppings, and cooked just right. You can tell they care about what they serve. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, with a cool, rustic vibe that makes you want to hang around and order another slice. Staff was friendly and the service was solid overall. Only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars? As I sat down my chair was broken and left on the floor. Nothing major--just a surprise I wasn't expecting. Luckily, no injuries and the staff was apologetic, but hopefully they'll do a quick furniture check for future guests. Would still come back in a heartbeat. Just maybe pick a sturdy-looking seat next time!

    Sausage pizza

We ordered pizza from here for a volunteering event. I like how they have both 14 inch and 20 inch pizza options, which are great for big groups. I tried their sausage pizza, which was honestly not as good as some pizza I've gotten at big chains. I do think their specialty pizzas would have been a bigger hit. The pizza just tasted like it was devoid of any flavour other than a very mid tomato sauce and cheese.

Gorgeous view overlooking the Brazos river as you eat your pizza!

Always Great! We have never had a bad experience, plus the top shelf margaritas are some of the best in town.

The regular pizza was ok but the gluten free wasn't good at all. I wanted to like this place. Will try again sometime.

Pizza is pretty good, loved the chicken bacon ranch best. Ranch dressing is superb! Did take out and they were prompt and ready.

    Is this place dog friendly?

Not that I'm aware. They serve food and are within the city limits, so there are city ordinances prohibitions.

Neapolitan pizza is something like a culinary ancestor to New York pizza, which has more mozzarella cheese and a somewhat sweeter sauce. The Italian salads and entrees are also excellent. The Chef-Owner trained in Italy, and it shows. Service is friendly, competent and responsive. The ambiance is modern, although I think the seating and tabletops are fairly basic. All in all, the pizzas are the stars of the menu, and well worth it as an authentic taste of classic Neapolitan cuisine.

They tasted just like a tortilla chip though soooo... I think 2$ is more appropriate (menu also had GF at 4$ and then we were charged 5$ at the end in which I thought I'd be getting gluten free bread too but alas, the app was really really good - a friends complaint is that it could use more lemon flavor, I can see that too) I was also charged 4$ for my gluten free pasta, but the dish was so so so good. The creamy sauce was absolutely incredible. I had the shrimp scampi along with a blueberry syrup mocktail and I was completely satisfied. Also had a taste of the blueberry martini which was also very good. My friend had the lasagna which she rated at 3 stars and said it was overcooked but the sauce was good. My sister had the lobster ravioli and it was undercooked, too al dente for her liking and was dissatisfied as it was the most expensive thing on the menu. My sister would go back, my friend would not, and i definitely would. Service was very nice. I just looked at my receipt and there is a charge for "rustic bread" so I'm not sure what that is... did they charge us for both the GF crackers AND the bread that should have been included in the appetizer? That's also not cool.
