I don't understand the hype around this place. Ordered takeout and it was late to be ready but honestly, the pizza is not that great. Asked for BBQ drizzle on both our pizzas and neither had it. Flavor was off on the BBQ base and pretty light. If this is the regular crust I ordered, I would hate to see how thin the thin crust is. For $35 for two mediums, I'll stick to Marcos that has better crust. read more

Ordered a supreme and it was terrible ! I have always been a fan of poppa rollos, but now. I won t go back. Never thought I would get such a bad pizza from yall. Please reach out to me for more information. Shame on you! The owners expect better pizza than what I got. read more

Growing up in Waco, I have loved Poppa Rollo's all my life. When I visit home, it's the #1 thing I crave and make it a priority to get, but you're best off going to the original location on Valley Mills. This location seems to cut corners when it comes to quality. The hamburger pizza tastes nothing like it should. The beef used is clearly cheap as well as unseasoned, not at all like Valley Mills. It tastes bad and is shameful to try and pass off as the flagship Poppa Rollo's recipe that made them a Waco staple. read more

Saturday 4/19/25 We went in and the girl at the host table sat us down quickly, told us the server would be there soon. We waited close to 10 minutes before she showed up. We got the buffet and the food was good. The problem was the server (Jasmin), she was very rude, she only came by once, but didn't refill our drinks. She came by to give us the ticket, but rolled her eyes when I said we weren't finished yet. My uncle had to go look for her to pay and he said she was really snotty and not friendly at all. read more

Rollo's really dropped the ball on your last couple of visits--especially when you've been loyal customers for a long time. Getting warm mugs with your beer and having to hunt down service is frustrating, especially when it used to be such a dependable spot. Food was fair. read more

Went in to eat at their buffet. We had 1 slice of pizza and a small Salad because they had nothing else ready. We waited for 30-45 mins and thet finally said they could put a request in for a pizza. Went in and told the person at the counter I was going to sit at the bar top. Quite a few workers on the floor but no one at the bar top to service. Saw many workers passing through the bar top but not one asked me or even tried to tell the person (wherever they were) they had a customer. After 10 or so minutes I left. Shorty's will keep my business I guess. Went there a couple weeks ago and the same service but didn't have to wait as long for a person to offer service. Place isn't the way it was a couple years ago. read more

They have some interesting specialty pizzas here. I went here thanksgiving weekend w my brother and niece. I ordered the taco pie. I wish I had brought some hot sauce w me. It was pretty good. They pile on the meat toppings. The taco pizza was similar to a beef pizza w the fresh toppings on top. It was pretty good. My brother and niece wanted to see the games in the game room like video games. Unfortunately they had a group then in that room. They had some televisions w a game on. It was a pretty good time and quiet enough my brother and I were able to have a good visit. read more

Don't waste your time for the buffet. Beyond slow. Pizza is good, but damn. I get it. Truly do. After waiting (first in line after seating the group in front of me) for 10 mins for someone to acknowledge my mere presence, I left to run the rest of my errands and come back for the buffet after the rush died down. Literally two other tables with people in there. Lady who greeted me was like ahhhh you came back, I remember you. I want to wait on you, come over here. She sat me down at a table and took my drink order. I went to the buffet and then Houdini. She vanished never to be seen from again. Wish I was making this up. Went to the bar to just pay for my food and there she is just tucked away in the corner chatting with the bar tender. I asked to just pay for the 3 slices of pizza I had on the buffet so I could leave. Sorry, Justin, but your staff needs to do better. Be better. My mind boggles that something simple like a pizza order can be so messed up. I love their pizza; I really do, but I like picking up a correct order even more. Wow! What a find! And I'm quite embarrassed because I grew up in Waco and had several friends who hung out at this spot during High School but never tried it. Ok so during this Coronavirus pandemic, my family and I were craving pizza..not just pizza but excellent pizza and we found it at Poppa Rollo's. Hot, delicious, cheesy, kinda old style New York Pizza in Texas! You can't go wrong at this little gem of a spot. read more

Great atmosphere and even better staff!!! We book birthday parties here every year. Never had a bad experience!!!

We live in Gatesville and had a craving for pizza at a place that served their food hot and had quality service. Poppa Rolla's on Hewitt Drive definitely was well worth the drive. Service was excellent, price was reasonable and the pizza was hot, had plentiful toppings, crust was crispy, and it was delicious. Ayden was awesome! She was cheerful, interacted with all of the customers and checked on us frequently. Highly recommend and ask for Ayden! read more

This was my first time to visit Poppa Rollo's and I have to say that I'm thoroughly impressed. The customer service was more than satisfactory. They took the time to ask if we need anything from refills to extra sauces. (Sidnee) Our server was phenomenal. She is hilarious and takes care of all her customers. She would frequently visit us to see if she could meet our needs and she did. She met them in a timely manner and she always did it with a smile. We ordered an appetizer; which were the mozzarella cheese sticks. They were rich in flavour and came along with ranch and marinara sauce. We devoured them instantly. We waited around 10-15 for our two pizzas due to it being cooked in the oven but when we got them. They were fresh out and had an exquisite taste. The BBQ pizza was the favorite at the table due to having a robust flavour. The pepperoni was also cooked to perfection! Nothing beats a classic pizza. I highly recommend this location for anyone with a pizza craving! read more

I was helped immediately as I walked through the door by a friendly host. I got to pick wherever I wanted to sit. The waitress followed me to the table and immediately took my drink order. I was visited frequently by the waitress. I ordered cheese sticks as an appetizer. The cheese sticks were fresh. The Pepperoni pizza and the BBQ chicken pizza was delicious. I was voluntarily offered ranch dressing and jalapeno peppers. There are plenty of televisions to keep you entertained while you eat. The waitress was right on point when I was finished eating. She had the check ready and offered to-go cups and boxes. The to-go cups are huge. Definitely stop buy this place if you're hungry and don't know where to eat. read more

I get everyone's short staffed, but they had about 10 open tables and 5 chairs in the "waiting" area. We asked the hostess (with a bad attitude) if we could sit at a table and get drinks from the bar while we waited and were rudely told no that no one could serve us there. We explained that we understood we wouldn't be served but just wanted to sit and have a drink while we waited on a table that we could get served at. read more

Great Pizza, call Dayna got the large works, drove to pick it up and there was a large line of people waiting for pick up. Went in and restaurant was full I was able to pick up my pizza in a timely manner although there were very impatient people outside waiting I was fortunate enough to have ordered directly with the restaurant instead of online with a mystery time of when my order would be ready. Friendly staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Great pizza though! read more

Good if your feeding a crowd, the pizzas are huge and loaded with toppings. Both locations can get busy and when busy are very loud. Those with sensory processing issues may find it difficult to sit in the restaurant. read more

Pizza is great but service is CRAP! You *maybe* can find a table, but usually stand around and watch the servers neglect dirty and empty tables. When you are *finally* seated, you maybe see the waitstaff once or twice and they are rude and dry. Food and service takes forever. This has happened at least 3 times in the last 3 months. We've given them chance after chance, but it's not the same Poppa Rollo's it was years ago. read more

location does not make a pizza like the original Paparolls on Valley Mills. If you have a take out order they drive-through is the craziest thing I've ever seen. It would be best to just say they don't even have one, you're supposed to be served at the driver side of your car Then drive 20 feet, stop , back up go forward 20 feet back up and proceed to the exit that you just pulled into . It's honestly a big cluster fuck it would be much simpler to just walk inside rather than trying to please them and act like a foolish Austin Powers In their make-believe drive-through.lol The pizza is the best you're going to get on Hewitt Dr. The inside does not have The atmosphere as the original Papa Rollos . I believe I'll drive an extra 5 to 10 minutes next time I want pizza to the original Papa Rollos. read more

Not a review on the food, because they were actually closed when I walked in... The young women that worked the closing shift on 3/16/19 directed me to one of the only, (none fast food) restaurants that would serve me past 11pm, Old Chicago. I was traveling for work, and ended up in Waco much later than anticipated and HUNGRY. George's was recommend first, but they stopped serving food an hour before they actually closed. Thanks for sending me to Old Chicago! It really made my night. Next time I'm in town, I'll be sure to make it to your restaurant before it closes! read more

Was added to wait-list. Wait was 10-15 minutes and I was 5th in line. However the parties listed before me were 20, 25, 30, and 11 in the party. Then suddenly wait time was In a slight delay and no time given. Àfter watching several patrons leave after eating and no movement on wait-list, our party of 4 went to George's and there was no wait and food and service were awesome. I have had unpleasant experiences with this location before but this is just sad. The service is extremely slow especially in the drive thru. Poppa Rollo's Pizza - hair under the ham slice in the cheese - Pizza Near Me - Waco, Texas

Always great pizza. They always go above and beyond on toppings! Pepperoni and pineapple pizza is the best in Waco.

A friend and Iate at Papa Rollo's #2 yesterday afternoon about 1:45 p.m. and even though the restaurant was relatively empty, the server wanted to seat us a small table, but we sat in a booth. The first thing she said was, "You want the buffet, right?" We ordered our lunches and 35 minutes later, no food. We noticed the serve spending quite a bit of time with another couple, just visiting. we finally got her attention and asked about our order. She went to check on it and the cook said he never got the order. We waited over 45 minutes for our food. We both asked for "to go" boxes and when the server brought us Styrofoam boxes she said management wouldn't let them give out pizza boxes. Seriously??? The manager said she'd discount our food by 50% due to their error. My lunch special was $8,79, plus my drink. When I paid my bill it was $11.63. Later it dawned on me I could not have received the 50% discount I was promised. I looked at my receipt and I received a partial discount on my meal. It was $8.79 and I received a $4.29 discount, BUT WAS CHARGED $3.99 for a dinner salad that was supposed to be part of the lunch special. When it was all said and done, I got an 11 cent discount for waiting 45 minutes for my food and being ignored with the server. NEVER AGAIN!!! read more

Just as I remembered. Eating pizza back in 1980.....it's been years but it still tastes just as good. Great pizza. Cold bear and fantastic service. I wish the Hewitt location had more style and character than a plain stripped down bar, but it will do. We came for the pizza and it was delicious. read more

Just went to have dinner with my father here. We walked in and it was pretty busy so we had a seat and waited for a hostess. There were plenty of tables that were empty, but had not been bussed. Not a problem. We had no problem waiting. The first hostess came out and told us there was a ten minute wait. We waited a few minutes and another hostess came and asked us if it was just the two of us. She then took us to a table. We started looking at the menu, when the first hostess came to our table and said we needed to go back and wait for a different table. We got up without a problem. Whether it be a miscommunication between hostesses or a simple mistake, you NEVER ask a customer to leave a table and wait for another one. Very disappointed. read more

Always great family fun with the best pizzas! Toppings are are loaded up and overflowing on the pizza every time!

Yummy pizza that the whole family liked. I love some gourmet pizzas, but the kids aren't into that. This is just a really good pizza made with quality ingredients. The toppings are loaded sky high! For my pepperoni lovers, it was the perfect amount. The supreme had the toppings falling off it had so much - awesome! The bread was good, and it had a good amount of sauce without it being too much. Would definitely recommend and will definitely go back! read more

Walked in. Greet time was five minutes. Nothing but kids working there and constantly on their phones. Had to get Togo cups and silverware due to dirty plates and cups. I asked for their signature pizza shake that I get from poppa Rollos on valley mills every time and he had no idea what I was talking about. Laughing in the kitchen I saw him type my order up. Food was good but could have been warmer and crispier. My son handed me the receipt after I paid and what he showed me shocked me! Instead of inputing "extra pizza shake" the young kid that was my waiter typed "extra titty sprinks" I will be contacting management for my young son has seen this and I am appalled . I will try to post picture for proof! Not a typo either. You have to manually type in special notes like that. They deserve the rating they got because of service and immaturity read more

I had always wanted to see Rollo's open up a second location, but was skeptical about things tasting the same until everything had time to properly season. I was not disappointed at all - the food is very consistent in relation to the original location, which means fresh salads and GREAT pizza. They did a great job incorporating the classic Poppa Rollo's hidden passages and classic decor into a current strip marketplace lot. Being a newer site, it is also much cleaner. There is also a small outdoor seating area which the original location does not have. The new Rollo's only gets four stars instead of five because even though they carried a lot of great things over from the original location, they also imported the slow, somewhat inattentive service. I expect to wait a while for the pizza - it takes a particularly long time to cook - but I shouldn't have to wait equally as long to be able to put in my order once seated. Poppa Rollo's has been and will always be the best pizza in Waco. Improve the service and you'll be opening a third location in no time - on the river across from McLane maybe? read more
