I am writing this while waiting in line. I will write as much as I can whilst waiting in line. I have already been here for 20 minutes, and honestly it feels like time is moving in slow motion. It's one of those moments where you start off impatient, checking the time every thirty seconds, thinking the line is going to magically start moving faster just because you're watching it. But then you hit this point where you realize you're stuck here no matter what, so you kind of settle into it. It's like accepting defeat, but in a peaceful way. It's funny how waiting in line exposes how restless I can be. I'm so used to jumping from one thing to the next, always thinking ahead, always planning. But right now all I can do is stand here, shuffle forward an inch every couple of minutes, and come up with random thoughts to keep myself entertained. I keep looking around like something interesting might happen, but everyone else looks just as bored and zoned out as I feel. There's this weird shift that happens when you're stuck waiting: your brain starts drifting to stuff you don't normally slow down enough to think about. Like plans you haven't made yet, conversations you need to have, things you've been putting off, or even just how tired you are. My brain is bouncing between "I hope this line goes faster" and "maybe this is good for me." It's almost like being forced into stillness. I can hear the little hum of people talking, the random coughs, the footsteps sliding on the floor, and it all blends together into this background noise that makes the whole moment feel strangely calm. I'm not doing anything productive, but I'm not wasting time either. I'm just... here. Present. Waiting. And sometimes I think moments like this are actually underrated. You get space to breathe, even if it wasn't your choice. And the longer I stand here, the more I realize how often I rush through my days. I always want to get to the "next thing." But right now there is no next thing. There's just this slow-moving line, and me trying to make something out of a situation that would normally annoy me. Honestly, it's almost therapeutic to just let my thoughts spill out without overthinking anything. It's like I'm giving myself permission to just ramble and process whatever pops into my head. If anything, this might be the most productive part of my day, not because I'm accomplishing anything, but because I'm actually slowing down long enough to check in with myself. And the line still hasn't moved much, but I'm starting to care a little less. Maybe I'll be here another 20 minutes. Maybe longer. But at least I'm turning it into something instead of just staring at the back of someone's head and wishing I was somewhere else. read more

On September 9, 2025 around 9:00 pm. My experience at this Waco location could have been better. The pizza was good. The ladies behind the counter were nice. However, the African-American guy that worked there was not engaging, at all. We ordered a lemonade and was told by the lady cashier that they didn't have any, although it was an hour before closing time. She pointed to the drink dispenser as the lemonade was being drained from the dispenser and transferred to a food storage container. The African-American guy was using a cup to scoop lemonade from one container to another without gloved hands. He seemed annoyed when we asked to fill our cup with the lemonade. Then he put more chairs up on the table tops -- although closing time was an hour later and more customers were arriving. Then when we picked up our pizza, he was behind the counter. I asked if he put the garlic sauce on the pizza for Margo, he said "what?". I repeated the question, but before I could finish, he put the sauce on my son's pizza and not Margo's pizza. He quickly closed the boxes and totally ignored us. I noticed the reason he was not engaging is because he was wearing personal ear buds while working and not focusing on his job. He couldn't hear what I was asking. Is this how Mod Pizza manages their employees? Is it ok to wear personal ear buds, on your job tuning out the customers??? And he kept putting chairs on tables like he was in a hurry to close shop. read more

Rarely do I complain but it's Friday evening....I've counted 8 employees. I walked in. No one in line before me. It took AT LEAST 5 min for someone to ACKNOWLEDGE I was even standing here. I would have left but now I'm genuinely curious how long they can let me stand here. I understand there may be online orders and restocking that needs to happen...but not one of EIGHT people took a second to say "hi be with you in a moment?" Food was fine. First and foremost. My reviews are done solely on personal experience and NEVER FOR FREE FOOD OR OTHER THINGS. I do honest, and some might call a brutal critique of my experiences, but then, I do not sugar coat anything for anyone, not even myself. I wanted a decent pizza,, so I took it upon myself to review the MOD reviews, my mistake was the reviews were from the Temple Fast Food Chains Which Throughly Impressed Me, But My mistake was thinking WACO would of had (but, unfortunately) does not have the higher standards that Temple does. They only have 1 sm/med pizza option available. I built to order 1 pizza around 4:17pm, 07/16/2024. There were way to many red flags: 1. The young lady seemed distracted, disheveled and tired. Come to find out, after observing her, her shift was over, got a very young girl from a booth, and left as soon as she put My poor pizza in the oven. Took off. The young lady in the booth was very quiet, polite and very well behaved. 2. While ordering my pizza with this tired lady, my red sauce was extremely sparse, if left wide gapping holes on the crust, had to ask for a bit more to even it out. 3. Again, I had to Ask for the following toppings, again they were extremely sparse, looked nothing like the pictures on the wall. A. There was Hardly any pepperoni, B. Hardley any Onions, mushrooms, the ones placed on top of the pizza were broken into tiny bits and scattered around the sauce. They resembled dots, not veggies. C. Tomatoe slices covered only 1/2 of the pizza; yet again I repeated myself and asked that the rest of the pizza received the sliced tomatoes. D. Hardly any mozzarella was sprinkled on the pizza, yet again has to ask for more. I do not enjoy having to ask, multiple times for extra everything to end up with a 1/2-way decent pizza. The only proper portion I received was the goat cheese. 4. I asked for extra crispy pizza. By the time I got my pizza back it had been in the oven for quite a while; 3 other patrons had ordered after me, received their pizza before me, me being the 1st to order, 4th to get the pizza. 1/2 of my pi,za crust was great, the other 1/2 was burnt charcoal black, was un-edible. Why did I not say anything???? IT WAS A CRITIQUE OF THE ESTABLISHMENT AND EMPLOYEE'S. As soon as I was handed my pizza, this short, tiny employee headed for her vehicle and took off. It seemed her sift to, had ended. My thoughts, do not go to Waco MOD for a sub-par over priced pizza, especially when there are many 4.6 to 5 star pizza establishments who sell and serve a better product. If you like MOD, I recommend that you actually go to Temple. I cannot speak for all Waco MODs employees, but my experience there was in layman's terms horrible, horrific. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT INTO THIS MOD AGAIN, NOT EVER. I highly suggest that folks Try other, much better options. Just because it's near, around a University does not mean it is the only viable option. You have choices. You are there income, MOD is not your income. Never take something that you did not order. read more

So, a good place to go with a party who don't agree on what they want. This place as across the parking lot from my hotel so I grab a pizza to go for dinner recently. Fresh toppings on top, good flavored tomato sauce, thin crust. I only had to wait a few minutes for my pizza. Once it was ready, they asked if I wanted any additional sauces. I asked for ranch on the side so they gave me a small container of ranch. Love dipping crust in ranch. The pizza stayed warm while I walked back to my hotel. Overall a really nice pizza. read more

I love when restaurants other than fast food drive thrus open near Baylor's campus! I had never heard of MOD before, but finally gave it a try last weekend. I went on a Saturday night with my mom (bad decision on our part- it was prime dinner time), and although it was very busy, we moved through the line rather quickly and were able to find a place to sit. You order at the front and choose from a variety of fresh toppings as you go through the line (like pie five, but WAY better). You have the option to DIY a pizza, get a salad, or order from a set menu. My mom and I both made our own- tons of veggies, meats, herbs and spices to choose from to add pizzaz to your pizza. Then, they throw it in the oven, and when it's ready they call your name for you to grab it. I ordered the mini, 6 inch size pizza, which was the perfect size for me- I ate it all and didn't feel hungry after (which I normally do when receiving a "personal" pizza). Price wise, this was a little out of my price range for a college student, but the pizza was super high quality, and the staff was friendly. The interior was spotless, and smelled delicious! My only critique would be to have thick crust. Other than that, I cannot wait to return! read more

Let's start by saying that I was surprised. Any toppings you wanted on a pizza for one price. Great concept and execution. The staff were amazing and very helpful. How can you go wrong when you are creating your pizza masterpiece? By adding too many ingredients. For me that was too much garlic but it was amazing. Perfectly cooked with a tasty crust that held up to the toppings. The restaurant was clean and had a good vibe. If you're in Waco, give them a try. As the terminator said, I'll be back. read more

There are two people that work the line making the pizzas that are quick but the rest are sooooo slow. And they will make all their phone orders before the customers standing in line as it builds up all the way to the door. We waited for 12 mins one time and 7 another tome. Also, the people waiting for pizzas are standing directly in front of the register and pickup counter. Because of the limited space, You can't avoid them without being within 2ft of them all. Also, trash is frequently full in the lobby and tables are dirty almost 75% of the time. With the chance of sounding politically incorrect, there is a darker skin lady that bust her ass making those pizzas quick and coming out to clean the tables and taking payments. She definitely needs a raise because she is without a doubt the best worker there. All that said, the ouzA is always high quality fresh ingredients cooked perfectly to order every tome. And if you have an allergen and want to try the cauliflower crust, it's amazing, it really is. read more

Even buy a no name cake if you decide you would want one. Sauces offered before or after the pizza making. We chose Mike's Hot Honey, it seems to be popular. Can also get salad but the lettuce selection was sad with yellow romaine. Again not trying to give a bad impression here just very under impressed. More so with the price. Mod pizza why did you wait so long to come to waco its the best. I have not had pizza like this in ages anywhere, crust is nice and crispy due to the stone ovens and don't get me started on the toppings so many choices and you can load it up for the same price and even at the end they have a vast selection of topics when it comes out if you want from bar-que sauce to pesto everything i have to say i am a picky person when it comes to pizza because it all taste the same but after leaving here i know i will be back i am so full i hurt it was so good i couldn't stop eating. read more

This is a really good pizza! And...if you don't like it, it's probably your own fault. Basically, you build your own pizza from crust to sauce to cheese to meat(s) to veggies.
