This was a pretty average pizza place overall. I went in expecting a little better quality, especially based on what I'd heard. My first impression wasn't great because the restaurant could use a more thorough cleaning. There were several open tables when we arrived, but all of them were still dirty and hadn't been cleared off yet, so we had to wait before we could sit down. As for the pizza, it's decent, but nothing particularly memorable. One thing they do get right is the ranch dressing, it was actually really good. That said, they bring out so much of it that it almost feels like they're encouraging you to cover up the flavor of the pizza. We also ordered some appetizers. Unfortunately, the fried mac and cheese bites were disappointing. The filling tasted very similar to boxed Kraft mac and cheese that had simply been breaded and deep-fried. I wouldn't order those again. One highlight is the outdoor patio overlooking the river. It's a great place to relax, enjoy the fresh air, and have a few beers with your pizza. Overall, this place has potential. If they focused more on cleanliness and improved the quality of some of the food, it could be a much better experience. read more

We went here (group of 8) on Friday night. We ordered right away and went outside to eat. It took forever to get our food. Then when we got our food it wasn't what we ordered. Sent it back and got a crappy burnt gluten free pizza with bare toppings on it. It was ridiculous. We ended up eating 2 pieces and throwing it away. We had to wait almost an hour for it too. The other pizzas and salads came out way before ours and everyone had eaten before we even got our first pizza which was completely wrong. Then waited another 35 minutes for the second one that should have just been thrown away. The customer service sucked from cashier to wait staff. Although the atmosphere with the river was beautiful the pizza was not very good. Service was slow, took 45 minutes to get out food and it didn't seem to be cooked all the way through. A great place to enjoy a casual meal outdoors! It was relaxing being right next to the water. We mainly chose this place because it has a dog-friendly patio and we were passing through Waco on our way back to Houston, but we're really glad we came here! It's a counter service, seat-yourself kind of place that seems to be great for large groups! They have two different patio decks with lots of seating and they were pretty packed when we showed up on Sunday during lunch hour. They have vegetarian options for their pizzas! Additionally, they have salads available and vegetarian friendly appetizers. The pizza took a while to come out, but it was busy and also, I believe, cooked in a traditional pizza oven, so no harm, no foul! Only a handful of customers dotting this reoccupied building on a cold cold day, must have meant the menu held locals only secrets. I had a grilled cheese while others shared various pizzas. The crust on the pizzas was a slender white with just the right crispiness. The edges were full and held just the right amount of flavor. The grilled cheese called for a bit more impact to the flavor category - but hit the spot for what I needed. I can see that parking would become somewhat of a concern on a busy day - even on this mid-day visit the available parking was over half filled. PLEASE READ!! Absolutely horrendous! Wait over an hour and no food. Told a big party came in after us and our order got pushed. Watch our friends get food and people who ordered after us. Woman working the register didn't seem to care. Guy who finally gave me a refund told me to calm down. No apology nothing. I decided to email the company as well. And this is the response I got. "I issued a couple refunds on Sunday, and I always issue an apology anytime things go wrong. I also typically try to find a solution with the customer unless they are treating me poorly while I'm trying to help them. I always explain why a wait or mistake occurred unless I'm completely uninformed on the situation. We did have a large party on Sunday that put our kitchen behind a considerable amount, and had our staff communicated with each other properly, we would have posted a wait on the front counter to let customers know. I apologize that we failed in this regard, but if I'm not mistaken I promptly gave you a refund. If you feel this was unsatisfactory, as it was your request, then I'm not sure what to do further. I will be talking to my staff about proper communication during busy times, and I would be greatly appreciative if you gave our restaurant another chance. I'll even discount your order, just ask for me while you're at the counter" All this does is blame me, I was firm that I wanted a refund. I am never one to write reviews but this location disgusted me. For starters, they have one person working the counter during the busiest hours with a line out the door. I ordered 2 slices of cheese pizza to go. After waiting 55 minutes, I approached the counter and asked where my food was, and they brought me two reheated slices of cheese. There was absolutely no sauce on it... so I overpaid for cheese bread that I waited an hour for. As I was half way through my meal, I looked down and spotted 2 hairs cooked into the pizza. "SLOW" is the appropriate name! I never leave reviews that are negative, and I hate to, but just have reiterate what others have said too and I wish I had paid attention. It was a beautiful day, so I loved the idea of a lunch outside by the river. I ordered a small house salad & a single slice of cheese pizza, which I thought would be easy/quick. The salad did come out quickly, but I waited over 30 minutes for a the pizza and by then my salad was wilted/lukewarm. I couldn't keep waiting (they said it still wasn't ready) and I saw other customers still waiting too and a line out the door. Left and grabbed a fresh lunch from somewhere else right away. We didn't know what to expect when we visited and we were pleasantly surprised. Great setting with seating right on the Brazos River. We ordered caprese salad appetizer and it was not a salad but actual caprese on toast which was even better. For dinner we split a 14" ricotta cheese pizza and it was cooked perfectly, very tasty with fresh basil and balsamic drizzle. I would suggest possibly having maybe a sign or two by the water. A lot of people will be tempted to throw food to the ducks and turtles and all, which is cute. However, may not be best for the environment, and to busy a common misconception, bread causes birds to become full quickly, fliers may skip foods with actual nutritional value. It can actually attract mor raccoons and rats more easily as well, especially if it makes it's way back on land somehow. It would be nice to have a sign for environment and animal protection! The ambience is unbeatable! This is one of two places in Waco with waterside dining, is absolutely beautiful. Even in the hot summer heat, they have plenty of fans and cool water to spray off outside, there's a little bit of a cool mist, doesn't get in the way of your food, feels really great to sit outside even though it's super sizzling. Plenty of space indoors and outdoors. You have the freedom to come in to either get soda or adult drinks, and you go order pizza or anything else you want from the menu and they'll bring it out to you wherever you choose to sit. They also have a selection of hot sauces which I think were super delicious, I personally really liked the Sriracha one, it wasn't too spicy and added a great sweetness and subtle kick :) Again, ambiance is great, everyone is really friendly and checks in on you. A lot of great food options! We had the meatballs, they were pretty average in my opinion, with there was more carb in the ratio of the meat. I would say eating an appetizer and one massive size of a 20 inch pizza felt more than enough. If you're getting your own pizza, go with the 14 inch and you might still have leftovers. Don't be like my boyfriend and I and get a 20 inch and then eat only two slices we took the rest back! It was still delish. Funnel cake fries??? Super great, I don't have to wait for the county fair or rodeo now to get some of these fried goodies :) they have different sauces too! Highly recommend! read more
