Pignetti's was the perfect stop for us -- halfway to TSBVI and exactly what we needed to feed the kids without sacrificing a good meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and they were incredibly accommodating with children while still feeling like a proper sit-down restaurant (which is such a win). The food was excellent -- comforting, well-made Italian that everyone at the table enjoyed -- and service was easygoing and kind. It was a great balance of family-friendly and elevated, and the location made it an ideal stopping point on our drive. Pignetti's in Waco was excellent from start to finish. The calamari was perfectly crispy and tender, not greasy at all. The meatballs were full of flavor and clearly made with care. The Caesar salad was fresh and well-balanced, with just the right amount of dressing. The chicken parmigiana was outstanding--crispy, juicy, and covered with rich sauce and melted cheese. Service was absolutely incredible! We stopped in for a relaxed date night after a whiskey tour at Balcones Distilling, and this place exceeded every expectation. The three bartenders were outstanding friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaging. They walked us through the menu, gave great drink recommendations, and checked in on us throughout the night without ever being overbearing. And the food WOW WOW WOW. Totally unexpected for a bar setting, but every bite was amazing. It easily rivaled what you'd expect from a full restaurant. The vibe strikes that perfect balance of casual and fun, yet still elevated enough for a dressed-up date night. This is definitely a spot we'll be recommending and coming back to again! read more

Catered their food for my wedding and it was AMAZING. The owner and her husband are awesome, got on several calls with me to go over everything and answer any questions I had/tell me anything I may be missing to make everything perfect. The food was incredible everyone complimented it. Staff was very professional they served the food, bartended and set up the cake table and charcuterie table. I was hoping this place would live up to its previous Yelp reviews. Let's talk about service. Klint, our server, knew his craft. He offered great suggestions. He knew how to describe food. He checked in with us without being obtrusive. His suggestions were spot on. Klint, you were a large part of the experience, and so thank you. The food: this is reimagined Italian food and Pignetti's did it very, very well. Each dish we ordered was made phenomenal. The scallop was perfectly cooked, the sauces were delicious. We were surprised by the Pasta alla Norcina. Hot honey in a pasta? With spicy sausage, it really works. This place is great for couples, girls night, work suppers, or any time you want to impress your fellow diners. Well done, Pignetti's. I've been here 3 times and LOVE it every time. The cocktails were also amazing. And service was incredible. I most recently went on Valentines Day. Even though it was completely booked, our waiter took the time to take a picture of my boyfriend and I. They also handed out roses to each woman for the holiday, which was such a special touch. I will say, the ricotta is a LOT. So I would recommend if you're with a big group. It was super tasty at first, but then just because a little too much. read more

The menu was varied and expansive. The restaurant has a cool vibe and the use of old doors to separate their space is genius. Even though they had several large parties we were seated right at our reservation time. The dish I enjoyed had shrimp and pasta both cooked perfectly. read more

Pro: The food was very good. My pasta was amazing down to the Parmesan. The balsamic in the Brussels Sprouts is pretty strong but it's still good. Our server Lilly was the absolute best. It was my girlfriend's birthday and she made sure we enjoyed every bit of it. The vibe of the whole place is very lowkey, lights are pretty dim, and the music is a cool techno pop. Ordered the Arincini when they came out they were beautiful but ice cold in the middle. Could not eat it. Ordered the pappardelle veal ragu and that too was just gross. First time in Waco visiting over the Holidays. Wanted to try something different and after seeing prior reviews we decided on Italian. Wow what a great find! Cute little place with a nice casual atmosphere ( was busy) we shared mushrooms for an app with the most amazing bread I had the pork chop and my husband ordered a pasta dish. I absolutely loved the vibe of this place! Super cozy and romantic with cool decor and nice music playing. Could serve as a cute date night or casual night at the bar. We started with the Wagyu Meatballs that were firm but juicy and flavorful with a slightly spicy sauce. The Italian bread with oil was also amazing and super soft with a slightly crunchy crust. For my main I got the Triple Delight- the sauce was delicious and the meat was great, I just was not the biggest fan of the shrimp, it felt a little overcooked. Our server was kind and the food came out fairly quickly. My only complaint is I had originally ordered the Chicken Marsala but later found out they no longer had any more that night and I had to choose a different entree. Pignetti's Waco was a fantastic italian restaurant experience, with some great pasta & other flavors that really impressed me. Credit card surcharge leaves a bad taste. The appetizers were fantastic, the side of bread was delicious featuring some perfectly toasted sourdough (soft besides the great crust). The oil and herbs are just a bonus to the already very tasty bread. The side of bread is not free but it's only a few dollars and totally worth it. The wagyu meatballs were also fantastic, with the just the right amount of red sauce to dip them in. They aren't fall-apart meatballs - their style is a little more firm. But the flavor was amazing and I think this different texture is a style thing rather than a disadvantage compared to other, softer meatballs. The chicken parmesan was one of the best I've had, featuring a very pleasant surprise of thinner spaghetti noodles under the large, tender chicken breast. Plenty of cheese on top. Highly recommend this. Service was good, we got there a little less than an hour before closing so it was pretty brief, which is understandable. 2 meals plus meatballs and the bread, with no drinks, ran us about 80$ after tip. *NOTE* Pignetti's applies a 3% surcharge for using credit cards. This is a BIG pain in my opinion and almost drops me down to a 4-star rating. I think it's pretty unreasonable at this point to run a restaurant of this size & quality and try to justify a credit card surcharge because "the credit card companies charge the restaurant for using them." It's part of the business. Don't punish the customers for it. read more

So disappointed. This has always been my go to for happy hour to sit and get work done on their couches. Went yesterday and I had one drink. The bartender was so busy making drinks she never came to check on me. Finally after 30 min decided to go to the bar to ask for my check. I sure hope this isn't a trend. I've had the pleasure of visiting Pignetti's twice now. Both times, I should say, were associated with Baylor - nice dinners after conferences, etc. The biggest plus here, was that both dinners were free - which I won't lie - ALMOST tipped this from a 4-star to 5-star review. This place ALMOST hits the trifecta: ambiance (cool vibe of a "warehouse feel" building with tall ceilings and a huge fireplace - very open feel), food, and service. Both visits I opted for the ribeye lasagna, and it's outstanding. Although, now that I've looked at the menu - not entirely sure the amount of food is worth that price. The appetizers we had - the Hot & Crispy Bread and Wagyu meatballs were absolute MUSTS! I'd have those again in a heartbeat. Also, please save room for dessert, the cheesecake is outstanding. Unfortunately, our group was not waited on very well, in my opinion. We had 20-30 in our group (separate room), and I'm not sure they had enough wait staff to properly serve the group. There seemed to be longer gaps in service than there should have been, confusion about drinks, and the delay processing our bar tabs (considering all the food was paid for), was disappointing. Long story short: I would definitely eat here again, so don't let my four-star review deter you! read more

Wow. This place is definitely a great find. My wife and I stopped in for dinner. We didn't know that we needed a reservation but were able to sit at the bar which had room when we arrived but filled up before we finished dinner. We had great appetizers, a play on bruschetta and one that had a hot honey ricotta with amazing bread for both. We didn't realize the appetizers were so big. For entrees I had the chicken Marsala which was the best Marsala I have ever eaten. My wife had the bolognese. I tried it and it was very tasty as well. We will definitely be back! read more

We tried it for the first time last weekend and were very impressed! The service, the food, the atmosphere....wonderful!! I had the Crema Rosa Delight with meatballs (pictured) portion size was enough to enjoy lunch the next day! The hubs had the Ribeye Lasagna and absolutely loved it! Food is always good. Service can be spotty. Sometimes the service is on point, others it's severely lacking. They have a good bar but some drinks are way overpriced. I had a whiskey sour and was charged $17 per drink. I expect those prices with a fancy whiskey but not a basic sour. read more

Pignetti's in Waco has a warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff that make you feel right at home. My waitress, Melanie,gave some great recommendations--the Lasagna Rolls with wagyu ribeye were rich and delicious, and the Chicken Marsala over mashed potatoes (instead of pasta) was a perfect comfort dish with plenty of flavorful sauce. I had an Act of Faith Belgian Tripel from local Brotherwell Brewing with dinner, and it paired perfectly. Great casual dining spot with quality food and local flavor. Okay sometimes I do write bad reviews, however I believe I write honest reviews. This place rocks -- wearing your expandable waist pants would be advised because you won't leave anything on your plate. We had a delicious salad that was of the dark green leafy variety with lemon oregano vinaigrette and the rib eye lasagna. Both dishes were of gourmet quality. We had calamari-- my husband loves calamari so much I don't think he is as picky as I am about what "good calamari" Is and is not. I am picky..... it was so good I avoided the cocktail sauce and only used the lemon. It was perfectly fried and fresh - not chewy or greasy. The server was sweet and professional-- actually she was lovely and I wish we had her name. The atmosphere was elegant.
