I'm updating my review since the last time we've been here. Magnolia Table is still my favorite restaurant to visit whenever we're in Waco. The staff are always friendly and the food here is amazing!! We came back last Friday to celebrate my birthday. I was so happy to find out that they now take reservations using the Open Table app. It was super easy to use and I booked my reservation a few weeks prior to getting into Waco. We were greeted by the friendly hostess who seated us promptly since we had reservations. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my husband ordered the farm breakfast. We ordered the kids breakfast for our 3 year old which came with pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. We also ordered a side of biscuits with strawberry jam. We got our food hot and made fresh to order. The croissant sandwich was filling and delicious. The croissant was super fluffy and light. Everything was perfect!!! Our son told us that he loved his pancakes. Our waiter came by frequently to check on us and make sure everything was made to our liking. 10/10 recommend for their high quality service and food. We will be sure to continue to keep coming back again and again whenever we're in Waco. read more

Finally had the chance to try this spot and we weren't disappointed. A reservation is a must; even during heavy rain, the crowd still gathered as expected. It's definitely a busy joint, not a chill, relaxed brunch spot. However the staff was prepared and service was super fast. It was impressive that our entire order was ready in less than 10 minutes. We loved our meal. The crunch French toast was fantastic, the flakes were a nice touch that stood out. The breakfast sandwich was fulfilling, I liked that the croissant was firm and flaky. Like the Silos at Magnolia, the brand is somewhere between "minimalist hipster industrial farmer", and this is the only Texas Historic Landmark that sells pimento grilled cheese. It's a landmark because the Spanish Colonial building, once home to the Elite Cafe, was the first in Waco to have air conditioning and Elvis was a regular when he was stationed at Ft. Hood, as depicted in the mural. Other than the mural, there's not much to see other than an unimpressive selection of grab-and-go items and some knick-knacks. I found some that looked like boobies. Depending on the time of day, day of the week you visit, expect lines and long wait times, especially on Saturday. It's worth the wait because it's an experience. The decor is light, spacious, modern meets rustic meets boho. The food is everything you want in an elevated diner-style restaurant. Let me just tell you my boyfriend goes kooky for the deviled eggs. No joke. He also loves the pimento grilled cheese and their biscuits. I really dig the lemon poppy pancakes. The citrus mint salad is the bees knees. My family had brunch here this past weekend. The location is a bit sketchy has nothing nice in the immediate surrounding area. We visited the rest of the Magnolia Farm plaza later and it's much nicer. The building itself is super cute and really we done from a renovation standpoint. It was a bit noisy inside but for a casual, brunch setting, I was okay with it. The service was very good. We had: Biscuits w/ 4 butter samplers (4.5/5) - The biscuits were delicious. We unanimously liked the same 2 butters (the regular and berry). The other two (cinnamon and one other berry one), we thought were too strongly flavored. Slider Sampler (2.5/5) - For me, this was a miss. A total salt bomb. I ate 2 of the 3 but could not eat the last one. The two I ate were both super salty, and given the overriding saltiness, I could not tell much flavor difference between the two. Side of Seasoned Fries (3.5/5) - Not as bad as the sliders, but these were very salty as well. Probably worth visiting once as a tourist, I would probably not go back for just the food. read more

My husband and I were in Austin for a weekend in December so we drove to Waco for the day and ate here for my birthday lunch! We were placed on the waitlist and waited only 10-15 minutes before being seated. We ordered the Iced Cranberry Green Tea, Jo's Buttermilk Biscuit, Basket of House Fries, Taco Breakfast, Side of Thick-Cut Bacon, and the Slider Flight. Originally I had wanted to go to Magnolia Table during their breakfast/lunch time but our schedule didn't work with that so dinner it was. What a mistake that was.. We were quickly seated for our 4:30 reservation- which the location had very few guests when we arrived. I'm not sure how but our waitress was less than friendly compared to other servers near us. She brought out water then said she'd be right back. We originally were going to order the fried onion stack and the mini biscuits but she said Oh you made a bad choice, we currently don't have the fried onion stack because of something with their fryers not working with the batter? So no fried onion stack, no friend chicken, no fried Brussel sprouts and no kids chicken tenders. So that was confusing- any restaurant we've been to that is out of something or can't serve it would've told us right away while we are looking at the already limited menu. Let's get to the actual taste of the food - my husband and I both ordered the steak frites. I ordered mine medium rare- which check the pictures the center was more on the medium well side. They were skirt steaks so being more done wasn't too big of an issue and overall it tasted good. My son ordered the burger which honestly looked fresher and better than our steaks. It was a little weird that our steaks came out within 5 minutes and the burger within 8-10 min. I wonder about the freshness of everything. Our waitress really never checked on us after the initial order other than to see if we wanted a dessert menu. Literally runners came out with the biscuits and the meals. The server waiting on the table next to us talked to his table and engaged with them which was more than ours did. I will I noticed he didn't tell the table either about things being out until they tried to order Brussel sprouts- again such an odd thing not to mention in beforehand. We were seated within minutes with a reservation. The menu was pretty typical for brunch with good lunch and breakfast options. Magnolia Market at the Silos has such a great atmosphere. I absolutely loved the overall vibe and how kind and welcoming the staff were. The food was pretty good, and I'd rate it about a 4 out of 5. The prices are also very reasonable, especially for a place that's so popular and aesthetically beautiful. It was very clean, which is always a big plus for me. We really enjoyed our visit and I would definitely go again. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it gets busy fast. Ordered breakfast farmers plates and I kid you not it took less than 3 mins to get our plate it took me longer to wash my hands. Our server was very nice; however hospitality services are not her strong suit. We've visited in the past for breakfast but this was the first time we had dinner here and it did not disappoint! It took 3 tries to finally get into the Magnolia Table. I had visited Waco 2 prior times and the wait was over 2 hours. This visit we were able to make a reservation and got in easily. It was as cute as I imagined. Our servers were Eric & Mark. Mark was in training, but did a great job. Eric checked in on us frequently to be sure. We started off with Pastry Basket that included zucchini bread, chocolate croissant, butter croissant, pistachio scone & Prize Pig. The Prize Pig was a biscuit with cheese & bacon and tasted so good with a dippy egg. First time in Waco, first time at Magnolia Table. The biscuits were the best biscuits I have ever had, as was the gravy and strawberry better. Both of those must be a staple when visiting Magnolia Table. We also got the lavender lemon donut holes which were also super yummy. For our mains, I did get the chicken Caesar wrap which was tasty, although the wrap was a little dry. I do wish I ordered something else. My friend got the breakfast sandwich with the breakfast potatoes which he said it was all pretty good. The restaurant itself was a pretty big place and does give them ambiance of a farm house. I have been here three times now and have not been impressed once. Most recently we came for the new lunch hours and I had the burger. I requested to be cooked medium but it came out well done, and I found it to be quite bland. I also asked for side of the pepper jelly which is a bright spot for me here, and it came with a surprisingly large piece of plastic. This was immediately reported and I was given a new sauce, but still I was very disappointed. We also had a chicken salad that was bland and needed more dressing as well as a pimento grilled cheese which was much better than the latter two. The consistent inconsistency and the high prices has led to me no planning on returning here any time soon. The Waco food scene is far too good to spend time waiting hours here. read more

Although the menu is limited-- The food was very good: fresh and flavorful. They also offer cocktails and other drinks. A portion of the menu items are from Joanna's cookbooks. The decor is in the iconic Joanna Gaines farmhouse style. An issue I had with the restaurant is the noise level. It is very loud (and I do mean loud). I realize the restaurant is trying to mimic an atmosphere of a diner, however the pricing structure is definitely higher than a traditional diner and a little less racket would be nice. I got a plate of mini chicken sliders on biscuits for $15 and all four pieces of chicken together wouldn't have even formed an entire breast of chicken. It's bonkers what people are charging for basic food these days. $12 for 4 biscuits and some butter? Really? $14 for 5 deviled eggs and some bacon? I will caution that it is NOT in downtown WACO and not next to the Magnolia Market like I assumed. Heads up! However, the food was wonderful! When we arrived we were seated quickly for our reservation, I advise snagging one, and the gentlemen next to us told us to ask for the seasonal menu which was a godsend because we ordered from there and are more than pleased! Our dishes were delicious; plated beautifully and flavorful. If you're debating adding fries to the order; just do it! Worth it tenth fold! The building itself is beautiful with detailed tile work, sturdy wood tables, and comfortable leather seating. We went here on a Monday late morning during a not-so-busy time (September). Lovely place, inside and outside. We didn't have any reservations and we were seated right away. The first thing I noticed was, it was freezing at our table and the AC fan was blowing straight to us. Not-so-good especially if you love your food hot, which we do. But we didn't want to complain or make a big deal out of it, so we just settled for it. Cleanliness was 10/10, table was set up nicely. We ordered the Jo's Buttermilk Biscuits w/ butter flight.
