I have been wanting to come here for years so you can imagine my excitement when I called to make reservations about a month in advance and they were able to fit our large party in! They have a designated parking lot making it super easy to visit here. They brought us to our table right away, which was this beautiful large family table set in its own alcove, so it felt very special and away from the main hustle and bustle of the restaurant. The vibe was like a modern upgraded diner. I had struggled deciding between going at brunch time or for the dinner menu, but I am super happy that we decided to do brunch because we got to enjoy the famous Jo's Buttermilk Biscuits with the flight of butters. All of the butter was great, but I especially loved the blackberry butter. The biscuits were so good though, that you didn't even need butter at all, they were just so light and fluffy. Not dry like your typical biscuit that you'd get at any other restaurant! For the main meal, I picked the crunchy French toast, which was perfectly crispy on the outside but nice and custardy on the inside. I love the use of the cornflake cereal on the outside, I don't think I can go back to any regular French toast after that! They have some seasonal drinks available, so make sure you ask your server. On our particular visit, we tried the 1905 latte which had a toasted marshmallow syrup inside and surprisingly was not too sweet despite being marshmallow. The restaurant is connected to the little merch area/market where you can buy a lot of of the Magnolia merch if you can't make it over to the Silos. I don't do many reviews but this was such a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. First it seems they don't seat 3 at a 4 top. We were offered counter seats and there were numerous 4 tops that remained empty the entire time we were there. Secondly food was mediocre. I got Jo's chicken salad sandwich. Ugh tasted like it came straight out of a can. Bland, definitely not anything special unless you like bland chicken meat. Will not return. read more

I was disappointed with our experience. We were seated at a table where the bench seat had a large crack, making it very uncomfortable to sit. On top of that, the air conditioning vent was blowing directly onto our table the entire time. After being seated, we watched several employees standing around chatting while we waited nearly 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. No one greeted us, offered coffee or water, or even said hello. Eventually, our server arrived, and she was wonderful and very friendly. I ordered the Kind Breakfast, and my husband ordered the breakfast tacos. The presentation was beautiful, and the food looked delicious. Unfortunately, both of our meals were served cold. My eggs, bacon, and toast were all cold. Thankfully, my plate included a fresh salad and tomatoes, which tasted great because they were meant to be served cold. Overall, it felt like the focus was more on being a popular tourist destination than on providing attentive service and ensuring the food was served at the proper temperature. Magnolia's Table is a must try when in Waco. I've been twice with family and we all enjoyed the decor, clean environment, the service was wonderful and the butter biscuit flight is definitely worth ordering every time. The homemade butter comes in different flavors, cinnamon/sweet, a berry butter, a honey butter and a savory butter. The biscuits melt along with the butter in every bite. This is a unique take on a flight/bread board and it isn't found anywhere else. Spacious beautiful indoor restaurants with a covered very nice outdoor patio. If you're visiting Waco, Magnolia Table is definitely worth a stop. The highlight for me was the chicken biscuits with honey butter--absolutely amazing. Honestly, I could have eaten nothing but those and been completely happy. They had a variety of drink specials to include non alcoholic. The service was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which made the experience even better. The only drawback is the parking situation. Our first time here. The lady at Magnolia square recommended it to us. It as cute little restaurant with a farmhouse feel. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive and recommended some dishes for us. I ordered the Rigatoni and my husband ordered the Burger. We also ordered a side of Brussels. My Rigatoni was great, was very filling and I could barely finish it. The Brussels was exceptional. I would come here just for that. It was cooked perfectly and the flavor was great. To start I had the strawberry margarita to celebrate my day off of work. It was very tasty and just the right amount of strawberry flavor. Refreshing. Since I was dining solo I didn't get any appz. I got the farm eggs Benedict and like I said the flavors were all good but wish it was as a little warmer. But it was a great portion. I ate it all! This was my first dinning experience here. There are lots of tables and the atmosphere is open and welcoming. After my meal I went to the take away area and got the lemon lavender donut holes to take home to the husband. Like the Silos at Magnolia, the brand is somewhere between "minimalist hipster industrial farmer", and this is the only Texas Historic Landmark that sells pimento grilled cheese. It's a landmark because the Spanish Colonial building, once home to the Elite Cafe, was the first in Waco to have air conditioning and Elvis was a regular when he was stationed at Ft. Hood, as depicted in the mural. Other than the mural, there's not much to see other than an unimpressive selection of grab-and-go items and some knick-knacks. I found some that looked like boobies. Each time we're in Waco for a couple of days, we must visit Magnolia Table! We went around 1230P on a Saturday and the wait was 45 minutes, but it only took 15 minutes for a table to be ready. Everything we ordered was consistently as fresh as every other time we've dined there. The space is bright and always clean and the waitstaff is very hospitable. I love all of the different textures throughout. Overall 10/10 and we will continue to go again and again!!! read more

Finally had the chance to try this spot and we weren't disappointed. A reservation is a must; even during heavy rain, the crowd still gathered as expected. It's definitely a busy joint, not a chill, relaxed brunch spot. However the staff was prepared and service was super fast. It was impressive that our entire order was ready in less than 10 minutes. This was a check in the box visit for us, we've been looking forward to visiting Waco for quite awhile. We made reservations because this place is so popular--it is clearly riding on its name. As there is nothing here that we recommend. Check in was less than the pleasant experience one might expect, delayed as staff ignored us while sorting out something more compelling on their computer/pads. Greetings at Dennys are nicer. Table was still wet, and salt and pepper missing (we had to reach to another table eventually). Our server was not particularly interested in serving, but took our orders after another longish wait. We did have expectations for the food, and these were not met. None of it was particularly fresh or different from any other breakfast place on the highway. My scrambled eggs were not completely cooked, you could see the liquid in the plate very plainly (cook and runner don't care). Not a problem, because they weren't warm anyways. Potatoes were also something from a crappy diner--and also cold. So the biscuit....greasy, and not made palatable by the strawberry butter. Server was not good--long periods of time gone, never even had a refill for my coffee, and we were there long enough for several refills, waiting for the server.... When I got up to leave, my pants stuck to the seat.....thanks for leaving some sticky stuff to remember this meal. In a tourist restaurant especially you have ONE CHANCE to either make someone's day or give them a story to tell back home about how awful you were. And you were awful. Not recommended. Depending on the time of day, day of the week you visit, expect lines and long wait times, especially on Saturday. It's worth the wait because it's an experience. The decor is light, spacious, modern meets rustic meets boho. The food is everything you want in an elevated diner-style restaurant. Let me just tell you my boyfriend goes kooky for the deviled eggs. No joke. He also loves the pimento grilled cheese and their biscuits. I really dig the lemon poppy pancakes. The citrus mint salad is the bees knees. They sit you on high chairs like little children and you're facing a wall with absolutely no entertainment and no visualization of anything exciting that is happening within the restaurant. I usually leave disappointed. Magnolia Table is none of that. Delicious food, prices are higher than a chain restaurant but not extraordinarily outrageous or anything. Great value for the dollar. This was one of the worse dining experiences in awhile. I've been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and I got the chance on Thursday June 11th. Our server was ok it really was the food that left a bad taste for me. I started with the signature cocktail a lavender lemon drop Martini only to have the server tell me they don't have all the ingredients to make one of their signature seasonal cocktail drinks. Appetizers we had the burrata which was probably the best thing I ate. My guest ordered the Bavette steak frites with Mac n cheese and I ordered the crispy chicken plate. Their fryer went down and we're not able to make the crispy chicken plate so I settled for their burger. My guest received her steak first and tried cutting into it. It was dry, rubbery and chewy. I had to wait 10 minutes for my burger to show up and when I received it the burger was dry overly salty and hard to eat. My fries were also overly seasoned and hard to enjoy. Definitely one of the worst dining experiences I've had in a while. On top of that they locked the gift shop door so you had to walk around to the front entrance if you were shopping in the gift shop. Service is a 3, food is 1 and experience a 1. 1 star read more

Amazing timing led us to Magnolia Table when they opened for dinner at 4 pm! We ordered the burrata and focaccia that tasted as if it came fresh from the oven somewhere in Italy. Served with a perfect burrata with green pesto that was most divine- fresh as can be. Mocktails are always my choice and there's a blackberry mocktail made fresh intensely flavored berries that's a wow. So being from Oklahoma my favorite meal is fried chicken and mashed potatoes. We split a plate and we were not sorry. The perfect little chicken gravy pitcher- piping hot- w a generous helping of sauce served two easily. For desert there's an extensive selection ( including strawberry shortcake) but we opted for just plain latte made impeccably. Congratulations. You've really made America's best restaurant imo! My family had brunch here this past weekend. The location is a bit sketchy has nothing nice in the immediate surrounding area. We visited the rest of the Magnolia Farm plaza later and it's much nicer. The building itself is super cute and really we done from a renovation standpoint. It was a bit noisy inside but for a casual, brunch setting, I was okay with it. The service was very good. We had: Biscuits w/ 4 butter samplers (4.5/5) - The biscuits were delicious. We unanimously liked the same 2 butters (the regular and berry). The other two (cinnamon and one other berry one), we thought were too strongly flavored. Slider Sampler (2.5/5) - For me, this was a miss. A total salt bomb. I ate 2 of the 3 but could not eat the last one. The two I ate were both super salty, and given the overriding saltiness, I could not tell much flavor difference between the two. Side of Seasoned Fries (3.5/5) - Not as bad as the sliders, but these were very salty as well. Probably worth visiting once as a tourist, I would probably not go back for just the food. read more

My husband and I were in Austin for a weekend in December so we drove to Waco for the day and ate here for my birthday lunch! We were placed on the waitlist and waited only 10-15 minutes before being seated. Our server was nice but very softspoken, especially in a loud and crowded atmosphere at lunchtime. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was quite delicious. Decided yesterday that we were wanting to come for breakfast. We don't live far, but we checked online the night before and saw there were still a ton of reservations available all morning, all weekend long. So we figured there would be no issue when we showed up at 7:45am on a Friday, with plenty of reservations available, as a party of 3. The hostess told us "we're not accepting walk-ins, because we have reservations booked." The reservations were all booked at 9:00pm last night, huh? Well I'm standing here in front of you, a paying customer, and I can glance around the entire restaurant and tell you it's not even half full. This is now the 2nd time we've been turned away by the hostess telling us they have no availability in a half-empty restaurant. We have eaten here several times before, and back then the food would be rated 5 stars. The restaurant is always freezing, tables are crammed next to each other, so not the best space for eating, but it is pretty and the food was good. Since you can't actually eat here anymore, that brings it down to 2 stars. We left, 6 minutes down the road is Black Bear Diner, which has excellent customer service and great food. I don't know if Magnolia is trying to pretend to drum up exclusivity still, or just keeping a bare bones staff based on number of reservations, but you're literally lighting money on fire keeping a restaurant open that doesn't accept paying, live customers right in front of you. Why are you paying two hostesses to stand there directing zero traffic except back out the door? No one else was waiting to be seated. A parking lot a quarter full. Empty tables all within sight. You paid them to stand there and send your income away, remember that. A whole empire that you built on designing welcoming spaces to host family and friends - turning people away at the door. read more

Visited for the first time, and was excited because I'm a fan of the Gaines family, but I literally had to wave someone down to serve me after sitting for 10 minutes, multiple servers had seen me sitting there at the barstools! Coincidentally another black woman was sat in the same area, same issue. Then about 10 minutes later an interracial couple was sat next to me, but they were immediately served by another waitress and was able to leave before us because their service was A1. The food was fresh tasting, and I do believe in coincidences, but it definitely made me wonder. I'm updating my review since the last time we've been here. Magnolia Table is still my favorite restaurant to visit whenever we're in Waco. The staff are always friendly and the food here is amazing!! We came back last Friday to celebrate my birthday. I was so happy to find out that they now take reservations using the Open Table app. It was super easy to use and I booked my reservation a few weeks prior to getting into Waco. We were greeted by the friendly hostess who seated us promptly since we had reservations. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my husband ordered the farm breakfast. We ordered the kids breakfast for our 3 year old which came with pancakes, scrambled eggs and bacon. We also ordered a side of biscuits with strawberry jam. We got our food hot and made fresh to order. The croissant sandwich was filling and delicious. The croissant was super fluffy and light. Everything was perfect!!! Our son told us that he loved his pancakes. Our waiter came by frequently to check on us and make sure everything was made to our liking. 10/10 recommend for their high quality service and food. To be able to try many of her recipes directly out of her books first hand was so much fun! We made a reservation for Saturday brunch and we were glad we did, the wait times seemed pretty long. We were seated within minutes with a reservation. The menu was pretty typical for brunch with good lunch and breakfast options. The atmosphere is beautiful, the restaurant is clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. As for the food, it was just... okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it also wasn't anything that made me think the drive or the hype was worth it. Everything tasted decent, just pretty average for the price. The restaurant is bright and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly kind. They truly go above and beyond--we had an infant with us, and they were so accommodating, even making sure we had a high chair when it wasn't expected. Be sure to get a reservation if you can; on busy days the wait can easily be two hours, but it's 100% worth it. The food is amazing--my tacos were perfect, and the potatoes were full of flavor. Scrambled eggs were cooked well, the avocado slices were perfectly ripe, as was the huge slices of heirloom tomatoes. I added 2 slices of bacon.. I do wish they offered Turkey sausage. My husband had the biscuits- best he has ever had, roasted potatoes- not greasy and scrambled eggs and bacon. It was a full house and even though there were vaulted ceilings the sound levels were such that we could chat easily. Our server Elaine was phenomenal, she absolutely made our experience. Our server was very nice; however hospitality services are not her strong suit. She was slow, inefficient, flighty, and had to be reminded about my husband's drink order that was sitting on the bar for several minutes. The cherry margarita even after sitting was amazing!
