Stopped here while coming through town & it was a nice change of pace from fast food right off the highway. Got food from 2 different vendors here: Domo Ramen and Curry Up. Both were very good! Got the tonkatsu black ramen from Domo 1 it was heavy garlic but I personally liked that. Egg was a little harder than some other ramen eggs, but overall a good amount of food for the price. At CurryUp got the pad Thai with chicken - very good flavor. Not a huge serving size but plenty enough for 1 person. Overall the food hall is great - lots of options, students eating dinner so you can see what the like. Minor downside is parking - the lot was full when we came on a not-too-busy Sunday night, but we got street parking easily. Overall a great stop in Waco! read more

We were in Waco for a graduation and couldn't figure out what to eat (that age old issue!) union Hall was right down the street from our hotel and upon entering, we realized they have something for everyone! So many great stalls to choose from and every kind of cuisine you can think of! I wanted to get something I usually don't get and decided on the drunken noodles from Curry up! Surprisingly it wasn't busy for a Saturday night. We placed our order and then took our food over to Sam's! A cool little corner bar that lets you bring in your own food! For our last dinner in Waco, we decided to try this food hall since it was within walking distance from our hotel. There were many food stalls, at least 10 to choose from. We had no issue securing a table and chairs. The dinning area and bathrooms were relatively clean. The was a parking lot. After checking out the vendors, youngest daughter and Mrs went with Blasian Asian and I with King's Chicken Wings. I am not impressed with this place. For a chicken bowl, chips, queso, drink... 35$ WHAT? No water cups. The gelato folks had no spoons. Also, we're using the same scoop for all flavors so now the strawberry has chocolate all over it. The cookies and cream gelato was not what I was expecting. It had Chocolate sauce. Very weird. (4.25 stars) The OG older brother to Woodway's Union Grove, Union Hall is a bigger operation in downtown Waco. It boasts an impressive selection of vendors, including those specializing in Cajun, Cambodian, Thai, sushi, pho, Mexican, burgers, wings, pizza, juices, teas, and edible cookie dough, among others. As befits its size, Union Hall draws plenty of foot traffic though there is enough seating to go around. My wife and I split a barbacoa pupusa plate from Pupusa Paradise and a tamale bowl from Wacool Tacos & Tamales. We then followed that up with iced matchas from Zuke's Tea Bar and chocolate chip cookie dough from Cookie Dough Bliss. The pupusas were thin, crisp, and quite tasty, and the accompanying slaw was wonderfully tangy. The tamale bowl went heavy on the cheese and sauce, but the actual tamales themselves did not disappoint. The teas were refreshing though one was ordered with boba, which they forgot to include. Nothing at Union Hall was terribly expensive ($7 for the pupusa plate and under $5 for a 24 ounce matcha), and the variety makes it hard to pass up. It may not offer the best of anything, but if you want to try several different cuisines in one spot, look no further. read more

Union Hall has a variety of foods to appease everyone's cravings. We came to Waco for the day during Spring Break. I looked at several places for lunch and settled on Union Hall. This was perfect because my family had a variety of food to choose from. We could all get what our tummies wanted. I did a lap by myself while my husband and son went on their hunt for food. I stopped by a tea shop for a refreshing iced tea. Then I decided to go Cajun and got some Boudin Eggrolls and Gumbo. Both are very tasty and satisfying. The gumbo was packed with sausage, chicken, shrimp, and crawfish. I was full but I didn't feel miserable after. My son found a pizza place and my husband got a burger. Union Hall food court is now my favorite place to visit and I didn't even get to try all the options that they had available so another trip is in my near future. There is definitely something for everyone here. We tried multiple businesses and they were ALL delicious. Each spot also provides fast service and will text you when your food is ready. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and accommodating. There are plenty of spaces to sit and this is a great venue to eat with children. It is a fun and lively atmosphere. My favorites are the Cajun seafood pasta and the wings but I enjoyed everything that we ordered. I'm not sure if it's possible to just order from one place in here. I love this concept and hope to visit more of these in the near future. read more

Ample seating and lots of nooks and crannies to post up in - you could work from here, socialize or grab a quick bite to eat. This place has an array of places to select food from. It's a good place to stop at if you're with people and passing through Waco because everyone can just get what they want. There are Mexican restaurants, a bar, a cupcake place, pizza, Mac and Cheese, açaí place and a host of other restaurants. We tried the Mac and Cheese place and it was really good. The Mac and Cheese place had the longest line on the day we went. We tried the Mexican restaurant that is diagonal from the Mac and Cheese place too. Both places were good and I would go back, but I'd most likely want to try other restaurants to see what they taste like. There are tables all over where you can sit and eat. After visiting The Silos, we were super bummed Magnolia table was booked and we had to sort out our own food. I found this place on Yelp and was pumped. It's basically a food court with all different options. I started at Roni and got the grilled cheese macaroni with grilled chicken and broccoli with a mixture of ranch and hot sauce. Then I waddled over to the taco shop across the way. I didn't want more heaviness so I ordered the veggie taco that was literally overflowing with grilled veggies. As if that wasn't enough to combust, I then went over to the cookie dough place and ordered about 10 samples and finally decided on the oatmeal chocolate chip. They may be small, but they are big on flavor and deliciousness! The Margarita Bar serves up a pretty spicy margarita, but there is another, full bar in the opposite corner of Union Hall if margaritas aren't your thing. After spending tons of time bargain shopping nearby, it's only reasonable to get famished (most especially since my party of 5 skipped breakfast!) Big Bro didn't bother asking what we wanted or preferred. He took us straight here. Pretty clever, actually, since we are all bound to find something we liked here. I ordered a bloody mary at the watering hole as refreshment while doing a walk through to decide where to grub. I narrowed it down to three places, but sadly didn't end up at any of them since they didn't have the one (or two) things I wanted on their menu (not really sure if that's a common recurrence, I thought that was weird.) I did find something else interesting enough (but that's for another review.) They're still kinda new so there are a few empty stalls and spots. And it felt like the whole place was still wet behind the ears new - like they were still trying to find their footing. But I'm definitely rootin' for them! Parking aplenty: street and Private lot available. Shouldn't be an issue. But then again, we can here mid-week, so weekends might be a different scenario. Plan accordingly. My family and I absolutely love coming to Union Hall for food. The many food options available make it easy to feed everyone. It is a fun, friendly, and clean atmosphere to hang out and enjoy each other's company except for how management addresses their employees. Now you may be wondering, why the 4 star rating? That's because, unfortunately, when we went yesterday, the manager/supervisor was addressing one of his staff members about an issue with another staff member in front of everyone. And, he had both staff members together discussing it. I felt that it was extremely unprofessional of that manager/supervisor to do that. He should have pulled them into the office or backroom. I felt bad for the staff member that was being talked to, felt like he was being attacked not only by his manager/supervisor but also by the other staff member that had the issue with the staff. But anyway, back to the amazing food! Tiny pies, very delicious and more than enough for our bellies to have a sweet, delicious bite of dessert. There are so many tiny pies to choose from! Fyi, some pies can be messy when you bite into it, but you won't regret it. West Bank Po'Boys never disappoints me with their catfish. Most places tend to over season or overcook the catfish, but not West Bank! It's perfect and juicy! I tried their Mac and cheese crayfish. It was ok. I'd probably would prefer it to be served hotter than just room temp. King's Chicken Wings was good. I got the Louisiana Hot and Mild. It was a good flavor, but I was expecting the hot to be hot. Maybe I'll go the next level up. I did love how the employee put parsley on the mild chicken. It helped identify the mild from hot. Thanks for that! Birria Tacos from Wacool Tacos and Tamales are pretty delicious. They are beef, so keep that in mind, but they are full of flavor. They aren't stingy on the meat either! My kids love them, and it never fails that they always want at least 1 when we go. One photo I didn't get was the food my husband got from Pho My Vietnamese Cuisine. While I was on my adventure of ordering food, him and the munchkins dug into it. But, if you love Pho, you have to try it. The broth alone is so delicious! I can just drink that and be happy. I prefer their egg rolls over Blasian Asian. Although management was unprofessional with their employees, it won't stop my family and I from driving an hour to Union Hall to have delicious food. Absolutely love food halls. I wish we had more of this in Georgetown or North Austin, but Waco is not too far. Food halls are great when you're with people who have different taste in food, and you're not sure what everyone wants to eat. There is so many good options- sandwiches, burgers, tacos, chicken, pizza, Thai, Vietnamese, and so much more. We got food at Westbank Po Boys, and ordered a fish po boy and a shrimp po boy. Both were excellent, and their fries are delicious and well seasoned. I would go back to this stall, but there is so many options I'd like to try when we go back. Service was fantastic and helpful if you were unsure what you wanted, they were able to provide recommendations It was so fun, and makes for a great meetup or a great lunch/dinner spot to grab a bite or have a date night. read more

It was great to be able to be at one place and get what everyone wanted. The pho was pretty good and the owner is super nice. Like a lot of places that carry a lot of hype, the quality was really disappointing. Lots of frozen to double fried food that was oily. Went by Mac's Fry Shop with my Dad and we both had the catfish. I regularly eat catfish in Louisiana and Mississippi when I travel - and this was as good as I have had anywhere. A fun food hall with lots of variety. I was on a girl's trip, and this was the perfect dinner stop for being able to "hit" what everyone was more in the mood for. The upstairs was surprisingly empty, so we headed up there to eat... we were pretty much the only ones up there for some reason, so it was nice to have more space to ourselves away from the bulk of people and the noisier downstairs. ***PRO TIP!!! Their website and Yelp says that they close at 10. It's true that the hall itself stays open until then, BUT almost all of the restaurants close at 8. Great venue for everyone to have something to eat and drink!!! Sam's Bar has great craft cocktails and great bartenders. (Keenan and Kel are amazing!) Wacool Taco is awesome! Try the Korean BBQ taco!! Village Pizzaria is great New York Style pizza. Roni's Mac n cheese is to die for and Blasian Asian is great fresh Asian cuisine. There is Thai, Mexican, South American, Burgers, Wings and even a loose tea place, amongst many others. Definitely a must when in downtown Waco. read more
