Food is good and servers are friendly, but for some reason their coffee is ALWAYS cold. The employees let you buy the cold coffee and then don't seem at all surprised when you complain about it. Today, it took them about 15 minutes to produce a cup of hot coffee. We have been to multiple other LaMadeleine restaurants in other cities and have not encountered this problem anywhere else. Why can't the Waco location get this right? We're looking for another place to go for omelets. read more

I'm a breakfast nut! Really! Unfortunately, Madeliene's was a real bust! I hate those places where you have to go through a buffet line, order there and then they want a tip! Except for the cooking and bringing you a plate of food, you know. And then the food... the bacon was actually "tough". It had been precooked and barely chewable! The eggs were powdered eggs (REALLY?) yes! They serve a B potato galette with it that had been sitting in the display case for who knows how long! Again tough and I couldn't chew the edges. Arrived at 0854 and ordered. There was no American Coffee and very little French coffee. No blackberry jam at all. As of 0920 still no coffee! What a cute place - but, disappointing. 1. It had a strange cafeteria feeling grabbing a tray and pulling it down the line. The menu was small but all looked good. Coffee was fresh and hot. The also had a table of complementary bread. All was self serve. It took the better part of 45 minutes for our breakfast (an eggs/bacon plate and croque madam)...which were ok. Not overly hot, or noteworthy. The most disappointing was the potato galette we waited an additional 15 minutes for, that was only warm, chewy, and not worth waiting for. The staff was friendly. We waited over 20 minutes for a French dip and turkey bistro. Once we got the sandwiches, French dip had onions all Over it and we read the menu several times and it did not say onions. My turkey bistro tasted like fish. Not sure if the turkey was bad or it had been cooked with fish. But we walked out. Sad to see this place go down. read more

The customer service at la Madeline is top notch! I'm always greeted with a smile and a "bonjour". Billy is an employee that truly stood out to me. He is so attentive, respectful, and kind. The food is wonderful too! Always is hot and fresh (my fav is the Caesar salad!) and the coffee is always delicious. I really love coming here to study because it's peaceful, quiet, and cozy. However, after I ordered my Salad Sampler and the caesar salad was already on the plate, they let me know that they had no pasta salad (one of my favorites). YUM! I've been going to La Madeline since I was a child and have always enjoyed their staple items. They do soups and salads very well in addition to the sandwiches I've tried. On this visit, I got the salad trio and a cup of soup and everything was very good. Typically when I get strawberries romanoff, the cream is served on the side. At this location they put it over the strawberries, which turned out to be very yummy. If you're looking for a quick and light meal, I'd recommended visiting La Madeline's. read more

What a wonderful concept. Walk in to see the pastry case with all its beautiful yummies on display. Grab a menu right there if you're dining on a full meal. Walk down the buffet line to get your pastries, salad made, and order at the register. Self serve drink station. Seat yourself and the food comes to you. Breakfast bacon is perfectly cooked. The croissants and just as you'd find in Europe. This is a nice twist to the Waco breakfast scene. read more

This place is always mediocre. For some reason we do keep coming back because it's the only breakfast place that opens early enough, but this morning was extra disappointing their hot water Spicket wasn't working so they had an air pot of hot water out and it was cold. Because I usually like to get tea so it was not good. they brought out our food and three of us got the la madeleine crêpe which came out 10 minutes later after everybody else's food came and when we got it it was room temperature, I went to bring it back and they told me to take it back to the table and they'll bring some new crêpes which I understand they dont usually take dishes back from the counter. However customer service is not first priority as they are often rude. read more

We couldn't find a breakfast/cafe/coffee place to eat at on a Sunday. This happened to be one of the only places open. The breakfast was really good, very cute inside with a fireplace and the workers were very friendly. We took home a baguette for dinner and my family loved it. read more

I enjoy coming here whether it's for a full meal or just picking up some goodies from their bakery case. One of the guys that works as a food runner is always very cheerful and helpful, and adds a nice attitude to the experience. The people who run the cash registers seem a little less attuned to the customer experience, but are generally satisfactory. I think once a female cashier gave me a bit of attitude, but I brushed it off. Now, as far as their menu, it's a quick service place. Not full service, so if you understand the difference, there won't be an issue. They will help you but they are not actual waiters or waitresses. They have a decent menu with something for pretty much anyone. Whether you want a hot sandwich like the Croque monsieur, or a fresh salad, or some hot tomato soup, or a crepe, lots of options. It's French-American food, so a bit different, but still delicious. Savory and sweet options. And they do breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week. You also get free sliced bread with your meal, but you may have to ask for it. Their croissants are delicious, as are their eclairs, for a dessert. They also do online orders, if you wanna grab and go. Overall, in the Waco area, with limited food options outside of the usual fast food fare, la Madeleine is a good option every time. After having read the previous reviews, I was a bit hesitant but thought I'd see for myself if what they said was true or not. To be honest I was a. It confused. Having been to several locations in several different cities, this looks exactly like all the others, except roomier. This one has tons of natural light and very roomy. The bathrooms were also bright and clean. I found the staff to be very friendly and attentive so I'm chalking up the previous negative reviews to "letting the dust settle". The tomato soup was as creamy as it always is. The salad was just as tasty as I have come to expect loaded with bacon bits, strawberries and diced red bell peppers. This is the best place for pastries and cookies. We stopped in for breakfast and were not disappointed. My husband loved the Nutella crepes and I enjoyed the country French breakfast. It's 5 stars for the food and delightful staff but the room was so crowded we could barely get in and out of our seats. I wish they would rearrange or expand the dining room. La Madeline at Central Texas Marketplace is a charming place to eat. The service and food are amazing!! The staff was kind and helpful, and I left happy and full. If you didn't know it was a large chain, you wouldn't think that it was. Whoever designed the place also deserves 5 stars; the decor is very cute and cozy! I felt like I had stepped into a shop right out of Beauty and the Beast's 'Poor Provincial Town'. The real wood fireplace is a nice touch. I always get the Country French breakfast, great as always. But the croissants always smell and taste off. It's as if someone is using their bare hands to pick it up, gross. Always toss that part out. read more
