We absolutely adore this place. Incredible food, made by wonderfully personable folks. Authentic food with a bistro-y type elevation that's just so so so good. We've been coming to this place for a couple years. Often we forget it's here, and tonight we remembered we live this place and swung in for pozole and flautas (our favorites).... And somehow, this place has gotten EVEN BETTER than any other time we've been. The man behind the counter today, who we haven't seen here before, absolutely knocked it out of the park. He put together a chicken tinga lettuce wrap, but on naan for us that was arguably the best damn thing we've ever had out of there. The tinga was great, the salsa was great, even the freaking crema was great. Excellent. And per usual, our pozole and flautas were killer. We'll be back quite soon! read more

Stopped in this place about six months ago and had a terrific experience here so we came back.... This place never disappoints the owner is super friendly. He made us a special plate of chips and queso before our two entrées came out. Everything was absolutely delicious and it looks as good as it taste. Wake up Waco!!! This place is in a good court mall but seriously it's some of the best Mexican food I've eaten. The cook sometimes is running this place by himself but he serves beautifully placed food. Plus not only does it look good it tastes great. The chips r homemade. The queso is full of fresh herbs. My husband had the beef empanadas served with rice and beans. I had a bowl of posole. Everything was so fresh tasting and cooked there, not from a can. Service was very accommodating and friendly. It's a food court so there is lots of noice, music and other eateries but the tables were clean. The restroom was clean. Hands down this place serves great Mexican food. read more

While at Magnolia Silos a staff member recommended Union Hall for different places to eat at. We tried Huaco Eatery, a Mexican Food restaurant. My wife had the Grilled chicken quesadilla, and a single Churro came out too almost $25.00 for that one meal. She really loved the meal, many different areas to sit at and also out side seating area. Pozole is a must-have! Huaco is located inside Union Hall. They offer an interesting take on Mexican cuisine. Our favorite is the Pozole, hard to come by but can't miss! Its a decadent green pepper based stew with fresh avocadoes, cabbage, and chicken. The broth consistency is just right and has a depth of flavor from various mexican peppers including anjo gụailo, and bell. The portion is quite generous as well for the price. The staff are quick to take your orders with your name assigned and will either do call outs or bring your food to the table if they're not too busy. Plenty of seating arrangements all throughout Union Hall! Dont fret if you may not find a spot right in front of the food stall (although we've never had a problem with seating before). I asked when my food would be ready because they don't text your phone number or give you an estimate and he started going on a rampage about how "this isn't McDonald's and they don't have all the supplies etc." had I been aware of them being out of supplies I would not have ordered, but they did not let me know that until after I paid. Wow!! This eatery was exceptional in every way- food, service, personality, creativity! My son was enthralled by Chef Sebastian whizzing around his station with an abundance of energy and even more surprised when Chef popped his head up and greeted him with such warmth. The pozole is truly incredible (heat, sour, smoky- oh my!) and the flautas, beans, & rice did not disappoint. Calories don't count when the food is this good so we splurged on the agua fresca and the buenelos (the sauce is the stuff of dreams)... so worth it! You order from a counter and you have to bus your own table; so I find it super annoying that there are prefilled tips of 18, 20, 22% (for what?). The guac was really good, but the chips are very flimsy and can't hold it. My husband liked his tacos. I couldn't find any napkins and our food was delivered without utensils.
