We absolutely adore this place. Incredible food, made by wonderfully personable folks. Authentic food with a bistro-y type elevation that's just so so so good. We've been coming to this place for a couple years. Often we forget it's here, and tonight we remembered we live this place and swung in for pozole and flautas (our favorites).... And somehow, this place has gotten EVEN BETTER than any other time we've been. The man behind the counter today, who we haven't seen here before, absolutely knocked it out of the park. He put together a chicken tinga lettuce wrap, but on naan for us that was arguably the best damn thing we've ever had out of there. While at Magnolia Silos a staff member recommended Union Hall for different places to eat at. We tried Huaco Eatery, a Mexican Food restaurant. My wife had the Grilled chicken quesadilla, and a single Churro came out too almost $25.00 for that one meal. She really loved the meal, many different areas to sit at and also out side seating area. Pozole is a must-have! Huaco is located inside Union Hall. They offer an interesting take on Mexican cuisine. Our favorite is the Pozole, hard to come by but can't miss! Its a decadent green pepper based stew with fresh avocadoes, cabbage, and chicken. The broth consistency is just right and has a depth of flavor from various mexican peppers including anjo gụailo, and bell. The portion is quite generous as well for the price. The staff are quick to take your orders with your name assigned and will either do call outs or bring your food to the table if they're not too busy. Plenty of seating arrangements all throughout Union Hall! Dont fret if you may not find a spot right in front of the food stall (although we've never had a problem with seating before). This place is in a good court mall but seriously it's some of the best Mexican food I've eaten. The cook sometimes is running this place by himself but he serves beautifully placed food. Plus not only does it look good it tastes great. The chips r homemade. The queso is full of fresh herbs. My husband had the beef empanadas served with rice and beans. I had a bowl of posole. Everything was so fresh tasting and cooked there, not from a can. Service was very accommodating and friendly. I asked when my food would be ready because they don't text your phone number or give you an estimate and he started going on a rampage about how "this isn't McDonald's and they don't have all the supplies etc." had I been aware of them being out of supplies I would not have ordered, but they did not let me know that until after I paid. Holy cow, this was probably one of my top 5 favorite meals of all time, and that's saying a lot. I got the nachos with ground beef, and my mother got the flautas with flour tortillas. The food was very fresh, flavorful, and tasted homemade in the best way possible. We got our food within 5 minutes, it was very easy to order, the chef was hospitable, and when we said we had never been he gave us free homemade chips and sauce which was also incredible! Located conveniently in Union Hall, the ambiance is that of a community hall with many options to choose from. The staff is incredibly welcoming and interested in who their customers are. In other words, they care about who you are and enjoy conversation (if you're open to it). Upon expressing interest, they offer samples of their different Aqua Frescas. The mango is tasty! While I regretted not going for the Pazole, the torta was enjoyable. Staff recommended the steak over the chicken tinga (with no difference in price).
