Excellent chips with salsa and beans!
    Margo M.

We walked in and we were greeted with a smile! We asked for a booth and they took us to a booth in the back - since it was just my husband and I we were grateful due to a huge Mexican family having so much fun in the front (I wish I knew what they were doing - they were using hand signals and naming them). Another time! So in other words, very family friendly as well. The music was a little loud for me (ear issues), but it was wasn't terrible. I enjoyed it louder - because it's authentic. The last time I heard authentic Mexican music was in Fort Worth at a little hole in the wall place which was excellent! (See other reviews) This place is clean, well kept, and everything tastes homemade (because it is). The mole is outstanding and the carnitas are the way to go!! We are coming back here often. The service is spectacular. She has a wonderful smile and explained everything well. They even have vegan options! All in all we are eager to make this a regular choice to visit. We are grateful they took part in the coupon book sales at our school!!! Thank you!!!!

Wow. Yum. Goodness. We stopped in on Sunday morning for brunch and were seated straight away. They were busy but everything happened in a timely manner from seating and ordering to receiving food. Our server was friendly. The decor is fun with a welcoming outdoor patio. The food was good. Complimentary chips and salsa with brekkie? Yes, please. Everything was cooked and flavored as I'd hoped it would be. Felt like a down-home meal but slightly elevated. I will definitely visit again.

Came in as a party of four and got seated immediately. The host staff could've been a little friendlier, but atleast our server was friendly. She gave us paper menus even though the prices were *not* the same as the digital menus. She did a phenomenal job with keeping our drinks refilled and not going even half empty (we had been outside all day by the time we came in and were so thirsty), and made sure we were taken care of the entire time. Was one of the best waitresses we've had at any restaurant. I believe her name was Demaris (sorry if that's spelt wrong!) We ordered the sopes, DF chicken enchiladas, ground beef enchiladas, and the Puntas a La Mexicana. We also got queso as an appetizer, with the chips and salsa and beans. All of it was absolutely amazing! The tomatillo sauce on the enchiladas was so good, wish I could've had an entire gallon of that sauce. The sopes were delicious, the carnitas were tender and had great flavor. The ground beef enchiladas were good, beef had good flavor to it, and the sauce was good too. Nothing had any complaints, everything was delicious, all the meats were cooked perfectly. It's a very simple, nice looking inside. The bar area is very nice, with a great selection of alcohol. The music isn't too loud so you can still hear and have a conversation with people at your table. Can't wait to come here again!

So sorry I forgot to take pics of the food! Next time I will

This is our second time to this restaurant and the young lady with the long dark hair and bubble braids waited on us last time and this time. She asked us if we wanted an appetizer? I said "no thank you I just want the chips and the bean dip" that's part of the reason we like to go to the Mexican restaurant right? So then she took our order and brought the food and never brought the chips and the dip. And this happened last time too we had really bad service. We came back because the food was really good and we like sitting on the patio! But the service was terrible both times and now we feel like we don't want to even come back! That's sad because we liked the food

Busy on a Monday night but the bar is nice and there's lots of places to sit outside. Servers were sweet and food was good. Their verde sauce is excellent! Wasn't a fan of the white rice but there's so much food, it was all for the better. I had a shaken Pina Colada (because they don't do blended ones) but it was fabulous. Not too sweet either a fresh pineapple piece. Comfy booths and high tables in the bar.

We were in the mood for some great Mexican food, so we tried Hecht En Waco. The restaurant has a large seating area both inside and outside. The staff was nice and the service was okay.(service was really good u til we ordered) The chips and salsa were complimentary. The salsa was very mild and didn't have much flavor; the bean dip has a sweetness to it, I'm guessing from the corn that is mixed in. The nacho chips were really good. The Birria tacos lacked flavor and needed seasoning. The accompanying consommé was very oily and didn't add much flavor. The ground beef enchiladas had a nice sauce, but the enchiladas themselves lacked flavor. Unfortunately, the chips were the best part of the meal.

My mom and I are visiting from out of state and decided to try this place out. We weren't disappointed at all! Food was amazing, our waitress was super sweet and gave attentive service. Mom had the Cheese SBurrito with Chicken and I had the D.F. Enchiladas. Big portions and the prices were very reasonable. LOVE the refried beans. Definitely stop by if you get the chance.

Quick review: food wasn't good, service was amazing. But since food wasn't great, still wont recommend We ordered chimichurri salmon salad tasted like a whole bunch of nothing. It took salt and 5 lemon wedges to bring even the slightest flavor. The fish tacos... also tasted like nothing. The only reason this place is getting more than 1 star is because of our waitress, Jennifer. She went above and beyond and kept offering suggestions.

The chips and salsa was pretty good

I don't usually like writing bad reviews, but we were in a rush and stopped in here for lunch. The service was fine, but the food was terrible and bland. I love seafood, but the camerones tasted so fishy and inedible that I couldn't even finish it. The rice and vegetables had no seasoning and even salt and pepper couldn't fix it. I had a small bite of each of my plate and left it untouched after. We really should've complained but we were in a rush and didn't think of it until afterwards. Even if they coped my meal I don't think I'd give the food another try.

First time here with my daughter for lunch and we had the green pozole is was very tasty and loved the beans and salsa with chips

Services was normal but always a smile and welcome to hecho en Waco would of been nice too

Salsa verde chicken enchiladas D.F. Enchiladas

Big portions, great service, and the place is very clean and welcoming. Rice was a bit hard, but overall okay. They also bring refried beans with your salsa and chips for the table.

Nice and clean restaurant. Service was good and the food was awesome. Parking is in front and on the street. Price was reasonable and everything is done via mobile devices. Well worth the stop and eat.

Service slow, store bought tortillas, drinks small but tasted good. If you're used to traditional Mexican food this is not it.

I ordered the quesabirria tacos--they came three for $15, and they were very good. The green salsa was great, though I wish it was a little spicier. The other salsa wasn't my favorite; it had a different flavor and was extremely spicy. That said, I loved the tacos--they were packed with meat and cheese, which was awesome, especially when dipping them into the consomé. The staff were super friendly and had great personalities. The food came out in about 10 minutes, which was perfect. It's a cute food truck with lots of decorations that really add to the vibe!

Fortunately I was greeted with an energetic HOLA! at the other end and upon recognizing my broken spanish, they immediately pivoted to english to take my order. I went with a fish taco, a carne asada gordita, and a pair of deshebrada tacos and a pair of pastor tacos. Upon arriving, they had my food ready quickly after I paid. Got back to my hotel and chowed down. The fish taco is absolutely awesome; really packed with intense flavors from the slaw, sauce, and the juiciness of the fish. The fish is pretty thick and worth the price. The gordita is delicious as well and still piping hot when I got back. As for the tacos, those are tasty as well although smaller than I imagined for the price being paid. I plan to hit up this truck again next time I'm in the College Station/Bryan area. I understand why this is a favorite amongst the locals here and for good reason.

With all the fantastic Mexican places in the Austin area, I probably wouldn't go back. But that doesn't take away from the fact that I enjoyed my visit here. Our service was fantastic. Server was super sweet and gave us great service and the place was clean and good great atmosphere but the food was garbage. Maybe it was late in the day or something but I mean this to the fullest extent, Taco Bell or Taco Cabana would have been better options. We had queso as an appetizer and should have ran for the exit at that point. It was warm milk with a side of Pico de gallo. Zero flavor, like I lost my sense of taste during covid kind of flavor. We stayed because the kids were starving so they ate the chips and salsa. We ordered the beef fajitas, what came out was soggy small chopped up beef chunks swimming in oily onions and bell peppers. It was terrible. It looked like the inside of a cheap gas station Philly Cheesteak. I know meat, I grill A LOT. I honestly can't tell you what cut of meat the fajitas were but it damn sure wasn't skirt steak. Maybe highly processed minced chuck, it was bad. I really wish I would have taken pictures. My wife had a taco salad with salty beef that had some weird dressing on it with a few beans and corn at the bottom of some lettuce. That was probably the best thing. The kids chicken quesadilla was stuffed with dried out marinated chicken thighs soaked in grease (how the hell do you dry out chicken thighs) that didn't even smell appealing and tasted worst then they smelled. I'm not here to complain, this may be my first food review I've ever done. I don't send stuff back or cry to managers, I just don't go back to places I don't like. I guess enough people like this place to keep it in business. Or maybe it was an off night. I did see much better looking fajitas on yelp pictures and they may be going downhill or shrinkflating, who knows. I post this to warn other people to lower your expectations if you plan on coming here. Like really low. I wish I would have saved my hundred and something dollars and gone to Taco Bell for some crunchy taco supremes or some fajitas and queso from taco cabana, both would have run circles around this place
