You order from a counter and you have to bus your own table; so I find it super annoying that there are prefilled tips of 18, 20, 22% (for what?). The guac was really good, but the chips are very flimsy and can't hold it. My husband liked his tacos. I couldn't find any napkins and our food was delivered without utensils. Union Hall had so many options but this one stood out as we watched the cook freshly prepare everything. The flautas were very flavorful. Even with the toppings, the flautas remained crispy. The churros were perfect. Great service as our food was brought to our table and the server had great hospitality. It definitely helped that the union hall was clean and well maintained. I recently enjoyed Huaco Eatery for the first time and tried their verde chicken pozole. The pozole was served hot and fresh and was larger than expected in size. I ended up only being able to finish about half to two thirds. The flavor profile was really good, especially when I squeezed in the fresh lime they provided. It was a hearty and filling soup that I would definitely have again. I'd also be interested to try some of their other menu items on my next visit to Waco! read more

Atmosphere: Located inside Union Hall so not much to comment on regarding the overall ambiance of the location. Food: This was my 2nd visit to this establishment. The first one was pre COVID19. I asked the owner to recommend his best dish and he recommended the combo quesadillas with rice and beans. I'm not sure he recommended the quesadillas because they were his best offering because they were quick to prepare or because he felt it was one of the best things they served. The quesadillas were meaty and had depth but both the chicken and beef were dry. The beans were flavorful but the rice not so much. I ordered this around lunch time and frankly it was too much food for a lunch serving IMHO. I ended up not eating all of it. I also would like not to have my food served on a paper plate and my Passion Fruit Aqua Fresca served in a styrofoam cup. I'd also appreciate when the person waiting on me and the person making my food is not the same person because the quality of food suffers. The Passion Fruit Aqua Fresca was refreshing except for the white cup. Service: Not much to speak of here. The owner was had an enthusiastic personality unfortunately the food did not match his excitement. I honestly was expecting a bit more from this place but they just didn't tip the scale for me. The menu looked very promising and the photos on other reviews and at the counter looked really good. I wasn't able to grab a picture because I was wrangling an 11 month old at the same time, but trust me, it was a beautiful sight. Unfortunately, the taste didn't measure up to the appearance. The food wasn't bad, but I can't say that I actively enjoyed the meal. In my opinion it generally lacked flavor across the board. I didn't take one bite that made me want to take another. The portion was very large, but I really think I would have preferred a smaller more flavorful meal than a robust almost bland meal. Huaco Eatery is a Mexican restaurant in Union Hall. It's sort of tucked around the corner from everything else. If you enter Union Hall from 8th street then you'll be facing it. Everything I have had here has been good! The food comes out quickly and always tastes fresh. Today I had the chicken quesadilla. Before putting a tortilla on the grill they melt cheese so one side of the quesadilla is covered in crusty cheese...yum! The queso is also good! I don't know exactly what it has in it, but it tastes like it has a green chili kick. I loved the yuca fries and dipping sauce. The only reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. Everything here seems to be slightly higher than I would expect. You can definitely find cheaper Mexican food, but Union Hall affords everyone in the group a chance get what they want! read more
