The carnitas were packed with flavor and were tender but also had a few of those sorta kinda crunchy pieces rice and beans were amazing and both of the salads I got were so good as well. The biggest issue was a strong sewage-like odor coming from the restroom area. We were seated nearby, and every time the bathroom doors opened, the smell drifted into the dining room. Even the handwashing station in the dining area had the same unpleasant odor. The food looked great when it arrived, and the chips and salsa seemed fresh. However, I was disappointed to learn they no longer serve guacamole with their fajitas. The chicken fajitas arrived sizzling hot, but became very dry as they cooled. They were spicy, but lacked much flavor. The rice and beans were good. Overall, between the slow service, unpleasant smell, and mediocre food, I would not return or recommend this restaurant. They have a taco salad that is absolutely delicious! Their margaritas are also on point. The Waco restaurant is a little more homey and not quite as luxe feeling as the Houston locations, but it can be solidly relied upon for good, filling Tex-Mex, so I love to stop by when I'm in town.
