The image shows a view of a city with modern architectural buildings seen through a large glass window with black metal framing. The sky is partly cloudy with patches of blue and sunlight reflecting off the building windows. There are trees and street lamps visible below, indicating an urban environment.

Great doorman and he was super helpful. Met a friend here and we sat on the rooftop. It was very relaxing and not too crowded on the Labor Day holiday. A lot of TVs but they were muted. Jaime was a great bartender and personable. There was an all day happy hour. I had a margarita with the house made sour and patron. No glass in the rooftop so it came in plastic. Oh so good. Bathroom clean! Would like to return!

Visited on a Wednesday for happy hour. Plenty of seating is available inside or on the rooftop. A separate bar is also on the roof. There are weekly specials. Wednesdays are burgers and whiskey special. I ordered the $10 burger with fries . The food was delivered quickly but half the burger was bit soggy 2.5/5 The service was disappointing. I waited for 15 mins at the bar before I was greeted . I expected at least a " I'll be right with you" or something. I probably would've left if it wasn't so hot. Service 2.5/5 Overall my experience definitely could've been better. The burger was okay and the service needs improvement. I wouldn't return.

Love coming here for trivia and Hh and have fun events and pretty solid service. So why three stars? I am basing solely on food. Even for bar food and taking expectations down a bit, I can't say there is anything I have tried here that I thought was good. I think the price point is also a bit of a detriment cause seems over priced for quality and taste. Last time I was there gave the nachos a go and while a good size for the cost, can't say they were particularly tasty or something I would get again. Also got the pigs in blanket things and they were beyond just covered in oil and not good at all. So def try out Whitlows for some good times but eat before the fun here or wait until you are nice and tipsy and don't care what you're eating haha

A food presentation showing two large wraps filled with chicken, lettuce, and tomatoes, placed on red and white checkered paper. The wraps are cut open to reveal the fillings. Next to the wraps, there is a side salad with chopped cucumbers, lettuce, shredded carrots, and cherry tomatoes, with a small container of dressing nearby. The setting appears to be a casual dining environment, possibly at a restaurant or takeout place.

we enjoyed this little spot on. Such a cool hidden gym in DC. we got the mozz sticks. they were great but not much for a "cheese pull" (haha) we also ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, chicken caesar wrap, fried chicken sandwich, and the burger. The wraps were delicious. The chicken sandwich was basically all breading and no chicken and had a hint of cinnamon. The burger was decent. Our waitress was wonderful. The environment was fun and comfortable. I finally found a place that didn't feel like I was in the city and that made me feel better about the evening.

Good spot to come to have a quick bite with the nightlife. We were looking for a place to have a bite on a Thursday Night, during Howard University Homecoming Week. Whitlow's was open there was a visible rooftop. Also, it was listed on Yelp as an option above 3 stars. We arrived and the ground floor is a diner-like U-shaped dining area of booths and dining counter seating. There was a man doing trivia trivia and some music was automatically playing on a speaker. We ventured upstairs and the rooftop has bar-height tables for 2-4 people. There was a crowd enjoying the Thursday Night Football Game, there are about 5 TVs mounted high. There was a game of cornhole happening right in the middle of the walkway in front of the bar and DJ. The DJ was good. The view from the rooftop is grand. There is a 270 degree view of U Street, the U Street Corridor, Shaw, and a bit of Howard University. You order food across the room with the bartender. We were puzzled because there are 3 men in server uniforms (complete with aprons, Whitlow's shirts, apron towels, and all) that were bussing tables and bringing food and drinks out. We thought that they would come to take our orders. I asked one of them if I could order food (he was socializing with some customers) and he said to order at the har. We walked over and I ordered the Wedge Salad but the bartender said that he was out of those so I changed to a Cobb Salad with Chicken and a red wine. My cousin also placed her food order with white wine. We did not like that the wine was in a plastic cup...BOOOOO! Food was decent, wine was good, view was amazing, and game was nice to have. I may not return but this was a good experience.

This place was super cute and fun! The staff was so attentive, best bartender! She was great!! I went with my friend, they had an event going on, it was called "Tara's Hoot Camp(y) Brunch" the theme was Ms. Roper, we played bingo and watched a drag show!! I ordered the stuffed tater tots, they were good but it wasn't enough (I was hungry) lol so I also order the impossible burger. Over all loved the atmosphere, and all the Ms Ropers!!

Randomly stopped by with a friend Monday @ 9pm. Bright, clean spacious. There is Trivia on Monday nights starting at 7p. We ordered drinks at the bar and moved upstairs to the rooftop. 3rd floor views of the street out-front. Beautiful way to end our evening. TVs in the dining area and rooftop. Bathrooms were clean.

Went to Whitlows after Pride in the evening. The vibe was chill and low key. The server was attentive but also let me and my friend talk and gossip a while. We got drinks and the nachos and loaded potato skins. I got the GLUTEN FREE BUN with an impossible burger. The fries were solid considering what you could get as bar fries. I liked all the food and I loved the espresso martinis. I went to 801 next food didn't get good service and ended up leaving to come here.

Came in here real quick to grab a drink and saw all their wonderful specials. Bring a dc girl I've seen this building when it wasn't whitlows but now I want to experience! It seems as though the night I went they had like a dance class or like trivia or something and I love me a bar mix! Server was kind.

Asked for green tea shots and they gave me straight whiskey. This whiskey was below bottom shelf whiskey. I also showed up and got no bi*****. I swear I'm cute!!!! Doormen smelled like dirty clam chowder. Maybe it was my upper lip.... But I guess you can find that out yourself. To god almighty. Hallelujah.

The pretzels bits were good! The vibe was chill. Would go back for a low key night. The roof seemed to be a party.

Well I do enjoy burgers and plenty of places have upped their burger game. As much as it cost for a burger at certain fast food places you might as well hit up some of these other places. The prices are basically the same now. On a few trips to Capital Grille I did go with the burger and so I decided to check out its affiliate Capital Burger. Capital Burger actually has more burger options to choose for over Capital Grille and a more slimmed down menu. Still with the name burger in its name, you know where their focus is. I went with the bacon cheeseburger that comes with candied smoke bacon that came at $22 with your chose of sides (fries or various salads). It was cooked to the perfect medium rare and you can tell when a burger is cooked with better ingredients and cooked with a give a damn. It was not thrown together, and the fries were not just sitting under a heating lamp. I actually ordered a to go burger for the spouse. Here is where customer service comes in. I was asked how far I had to travel and the person taking my order said she will separate portions so it will travel better. Thank you. It is that little extra that goes a long way. This time I went with the Capital Burger to go along with some key lime pie to nibble on later. Great service and great food. There are plenty of good burger places but if you are a burger fan then definitely check this place out. Absolutely no disappointment. For a true high end burger experience I have no problem giving this place a solid five stars.

The bartenders were friendly, filled waters promptly and were fast. I came in about 5pm on a Saturday and there were only 5-6 other people at the bar, but the dining area was pretty full. This place has an almost pioneer-ish vibe with all of the taxidermy on the walls mixed with like your Uncle's cabin in the woods in the 60s. I was digging it. I started with the buttermilk biscuits and pimento cheese. Wow. I could have eaten all of them. The bartender and I agreed that it wasn't a good idea. He said he did it once. I also had a mint julep, and while I normally like them, this one was a little different. The presentation was cool, but the drink was all ice, which was disappointing. For dinner I had the Butcher's Steak, medium well (should have gotten medium) and the Brussels sprouts. I'm thinking about the leftovers now. The folks next to me ordered my exact meal because it looked so good. I will indeed return! Thanks, St. Anselm!

They had a variety of different cocktails, beers, and wines. I was particularly impressed with the Asian beers and Japanese whiskey, you don't find that too often. I really liked the inside, a lot of mahogany wood panels. Old fashion boujie, with a lot of bird art. Service was slow because there was a very large party seated in my section.
