My daughter left her designer handbag (included a matching wallet) there after a night of drinking. She contacted them on social media asking them if it was there and they replied yes and described the bag to her. My daughter was leaving town for over a week and asked her friend to pick it up. She let the restaurant know. There was some sort of miscommunication and her friend never picked it up. When my daughter returned to DC, she went there and the bartender checked the lost and found and it wasn't there. She said they check ID's when people pick up items from the lost and found. My daughter talked to a manager a few days later and she assured her that she'd ask the other managers about the bag, but in the meantime she told her to send an email to whoever the person is that receives them. The next day my daughter received an email stating that after two weeks items from the lost and found are disposed of. Now, I'm calling bullshit on this. I honestly don't believe that they'd discard over $600 worth of merchandise. My daughter asked if they keep records of items that are thrown away and she received no reply. She ended up filing a police report. I believe that someone from their establishment took it since it sat in their list and found for 2 weeks. So, I encourage people to keep their belongings close by when going to this restaurant, since they are full of dishonest workers. read more

I only been twice and it was during happy hour. So on Monday's they have hh all day when the open. Tuesday they have 25% off tequila and a singo bingo. Wednesday they have 25% off whiskey. Thursday hh from 5-8pm they also have live music on this day. Friday hh from 5-7pm. Everyone knows Whitlows from va but the owners decided to bring whitlows to u street. Hh is really cheap where rail drinks being $5 and draft beers and speciality drinks being $8. The place features two bars in the inside and an outside patio. The place does get full as the night goes on. The only get there food from Andy's pizza which is next door. I don't really eat pizza so that's the only con is I wish they had food, so I wouldn't hve to go to get dinner next or before. I will definitely be back since it's near my friends house and I will cheap it out on the weekend. read more

Unreasonably rude staff. Horrible drinks! Even after we asked if they made martinis. We asked for "Titos" martinis but they were clearly rail. Rude and unhelpful in the drink department. Need to get more customer-centered bartenders that won't charge $22 for a half glass of deep eddys and olive juice out of a bottle. Do better. This is from a bartender. read more

Where do I Begin??  So I Visted Witlows on Ust today as a first time guest.. just to watch the Philadelphia Eagles first pre season against the Baltimore ravens... the experience was awful .. Since it was my first visit I wanted to check out the  entire 3 level establishment..so after checking out all 3 levels I decided  it was  too hot on the rooftop, no chairs at 2nd level bar due to them getting ready for the Saturday night dance party...  so level 1 was where I Parked myself to have a beer and enjoy the game.. So I was approached by a Latina Bartender her name?? Who care..  she said "you want something?"  Me "let me look for a second" as she just stood and stared Me "I'll have a devil backbone" Her  "open or close the tab?" b4 she even gave me the beer? Me " I can pay for it now?"  So she bring the beer and the check and throws the check on the bar and ping pong reaction i tossed it back ..as if I was some random guy ( black male, not going to tip anything) not to mention 20% was added anyway but me being a big time restaurant guy I would of NEVER just left 2$ that was included ‍ So I gave here the 20$ and said "bring my Change back down to the Penny" Her "we round the change up here" what?? So you STEALING also ‍ So she bring the 11$ back .. and I said and probably shouldn't but I say  "Just remember you are Latina..You are NOT White"   she stormed off for a manager, security, anybody she could find.. Manager, Security,  Everyone finally  comes  over to me and say "sir you have to leave". Took the beer  Me " I'll leave just give me my money back for the beer ..or give me to go cup and I'll go... The Manger proceeded to put his whole hand in the beer like f*ck u .. I'll see u again sir #facts .. I have been to Whitlows a few times and it was been fun, but recently I had a very bad experience with the staff. Almost all the staff were very rude and irritable, directing people through doorways and to stairs. This I can overlook because I can only imagine the kinds of people they have to deal with. But later my friend and I were standing next to the bar on the third floor and the bar back wanted us to move out of an unmarked "staff only" zone. Instead of asking us to step aside, he PUSHED me and my friend out of the way and yelled that we can't stand there. There was no clear way of knowing that was a staff only zone and there is absolutely no reason he needed to put his hands on us. He pushed my friend hard and she was very upset and tried to talk to him about it and he just turned his back to us. Extremely rude, unprofessional, and violent. We were completely sober also and would have happily gotten out of the way if asked. Whitlows please do better with training your staff. read more

Absolutely love Whitlows! Drinks are great and they have awesome specials for happy hour too! Staff here are so friendly! Brandon, Connie, Amanda, and I think his name is Andrew (wears glasses and usually a backwards hat) are the best bartenders!!! Definitely recommend going here! read more

Not sure what the end game is here. Whitlows took exiting space and did nothing, added a minimal menu that is online and you have to pick it up and unneeded (and uncomfortable) security. Basically a college hangout where your tip is already added. Disappointing as I remember Whitlows on Wilson fondly. read more

Unfortunately, this establishment is unsafe for women to go to. My friend was physically taken from the bar without notice and without explanation - and thrown onto the street without her phone, wallet, or coat. It's unacceptable to treat women this way and a huge safety issue. I'm shocked at the way this establishment handles issues and extremely disappointed in the staff. read more

I can not overstate how terribly my friend and I were treated here. Their bouncers are extremely rough, unprofessional and irrational. We were roughly thrown out and treated like animals for merely going into the same bathroom stall. We received no explanation, no apology and we were thrown out on the street with no phone or wallet late at night and alone. The woman bouncer jeered at us and flicked us of when we asked to come back in to get out stuff. It was such a terrifying situation to be in as a woman to be so roughly treated and left out on the street alone late at night. Thankfully we are okay and our friends eventually were able to help us. I caution other women to be careful when coming here because clearly they have no consideration for womens safety. read more

awful service . security was letting only men and cutting the line not just one but a big crowd. when I finally walked in since two of my friends went in before me, two of the security dragged me out for no reason and one of them used her hands to drag me out when I was completely sober. i have never experienced something so bad. 0 stars and the security could catch a charge. read more
