Joes West Virginia Sandwich with their secret sauce!
    Nevin P.

DDD special! As seen on TV with Giy Fieri. Their secret Sauce was fantastic in the West Virginia Sandwich (roast beef and cheese!). Overall the environment was that of a dive bar, but perfectly decorated for the vibe. Pricing was a little rough for the serving sizes and the experience. But that is DC for you unfortunately. The waitress literally had the bar and every table and shee did a fantastic job! Hats off to the service.

Cool dive bar in DC with a great vibe. Came here for adult beverages on back to back nights. Bartenders have awesome stories to tell. Should be on your list of places to stop in for a spell when you are in the area. Walking distance from the Capital.

Wonderful no nonsense bar! You get exactly what you expect! Great fried food appetizer. Cold beer at a good price! Stop by and grab a drink after your Library of Congress visit.

I've only been here for breakfast (opens at 8 AM, 7 days/week). The fact that Tune Inn even has a breakfast service available on Cap Hill is notable. I patronize this place in part due to this, but it's also got to have decent food and service too. Tune Inn delivers on that. Candidly, I've not had a drink here -- and make no mistake, it's a bar -- so, its alcohol offerings aren't what attracts me. However, no one can walk into this space and not see -- or perhaps choose to sit at -- the massive wooden, old timey bar that dominates the front space. The Tune wouldn't be the Tune without it. There's always some sort of philosopher-type sitting here sharing his world views; along with firefighters, federal staffers, construction workers, locals, etc., -- the common man and woman -- and that's why I return. The Tune, of course, features fab music from past. Possessing the 2nd oldest liquor license in DC, it's steeped in all kinds of history and was a former speakeasy. It's a fun meet-up spot that requires no reservations. The same family has owned and managed it for 70+ years. The breakfast fare is pretty standard and reliable. My go-to: Tune breakfast or steak & eggs. There's usually laughter, friendly debating, and a welcoming spirit here that I appreciate. It's an unpretentious watering hole -- rare to find on Cap Hill.

Great place great food. Get the onion rings!!! Lots of cool pictures on the wall. True neighborhood gem. Lucky we were staying in the area.

This place was exactly what we were looking for, a casual place to eat and have a drink (or two). Good food, good drinks, friendly service - loved it! The Reuben was delish, the burger was big and yummy, onion rings and fries were perfect.

The food was okay. The hamburger was good; however we ordered medium and it came out all brown in the middle, no red. The wings and onion rings were over cooked. We also had to wait quite awhile for our food. The service was great. The day manager is a super nice guy. Ambiance was that of a local bar. Cool things on the wall. Clean. Very popular as people continued to come in as we ate.

The food was great. The service was phenomenal! He checked on me so many times, I thought I looked dead. Had the Mac & cheese wedges. Different but excellent and the deep friend burger which was fantastic as well!

We've been hearing about Tune Inn for the last three years from soooo many people, so it was only right we checked it out. Between Matt or James, you'll leave Tune Inn with a smile on your face! From their commentary to their service, you are definitely in good hands. Prices are more than affordable and the portions are generous.

Great little hole in the wall dive bar. Quirky decor and music choice. The bartender was super friendly and he was able to seat our large party immediately. The fried pickles were phenomenal. I tried the chicken philly from the daily specials. Very filling, huge portion, and classic flavour.

I love it! Really friendly and down to earth staff, attentive fast service, and yummy comfort food. This is my second time and I can't believe the 1st time I was adventurous and trusting enough to try an oyster po boy. It was a special (not on the menu) and the fried oysters were surprisingly very generously sized and fresh tasting! I can't recall my side, but it was also good. This time I got the Beer Battered Burger that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives with the sweet potato fries. Chef's kiss. And the fries were very good too ( I am a very picky fry person). This burger was clearly hand formed, fat, cooked just right for a fried situation ( I prefer normal ones a little more rare), the batter crispiness was pleasant and that beer infused taste and aroma just gives that comforting hug of umami. And the atmosphere- if you plan on indulging in comestible carnage, this is the right place. The pine wood paneling, authentically acquired thotchkes, and panoply of taxidermed organisms send you into the realm of cognitive dissonance and nostalgia for the old American working class and colonial exceptionalism.

A long time favorite with upscale bar food. Deep Fried or Joe's West Virginia are the sandwiches to try. Cool vibe since 1947. Check it out!

For a solid hour, you're like, "Wow... I am bougie like they say." Then the bartender calls out "Last call!" And as you take one final dramatic sip of your fancy drink, the lights come on like someone just hit the emergency button and whoa. Wait just one minute, I don't want to go home. That's when the migration begins. In Union Market, there's a place where all the local residents take their talents once the posh restaurants shut down and that place is Last Call Bar, the bar that welcomes you and your rapidly declining standards with open arms. And the food? Oh, the food is a spiritual journey. They kick things off with Jell‑O shots, which already tells you exactly what kind of night you're about to have. But it gets even better. They have food and the menu is full of options only a person who drank 5 cocktails could truly appreciate, the kind of late‑night masterpieces that would horrify you at noon but taste like gourmet brilliance after midnight. I'll take a hot dog please! The vibe is pure "we should've gone home but didn't" energy. The music is loud enough to drown out your responsibilities. The crowd is a mix of restaurant refugees, people who swore they were having an early night, and folks who are definitely lying to themselves about how early they have to wake up. It's a diverse crowd. More on the younger side but a sprinkle of adults that have kids in college or corporate jobs. The bartenders deserve awards for dealing with customers who insist they're "totally fine" while holding onto the bar like it's a support beam. And honestly? That's the magic. The best memories happen during the real happy hours of our days, bedtime hours, when you're either having way too much fun in the sheets or making the kind of decisions you'll laugh about (or regret) the next day. Last Call Bar isn't curated. It isn't polished. It isn't pretending. It's the place where your bougie persona quietly steps aside and you says, "Let's get a hot dog". If you want a place where the night gets a second wind and your dignity takes a short break, welcome home. Let's get into it! Drinks - Perfectly made! Way to go to the bartender! Hot dog- at this late hour it tasted like a filet mignon! Give me another! Eeeek! A watering hole - every one needs a hole that waters! Xo

I came here for a first date that kept going after the other place we went to nearby was closing up for the night. We ran into her friends she recommended we get these Jell-O shots which already was a plus for me considering that most bars don't do Jell-O shots! And what's even better is there's an option where you can add Pop Rocks into them! Never in my 30 years of life did I ever consider adding Pop Rocks into a Jell-O shot but wow! It was incredible! Service has a bartender or two behind working the counter. The drinks are really cheap which you can't say much for DC area bars. The food menu I wish was a bit more expansive but if you just come here for drinks the menu is solid and price competively
