decent bar, lots of tv's and a solid setup for watching sports. HH until 6 or 7. But the food is not good. Wings are pretty small, not particularly crispy, sauces were on the runny side and the flavors were lacking. The pizza is advertised as neapolitan but not that at all - a thin crispy crust. Ordered one with "hot honey", not spicy and not honey-like at all, it was a runny sweet sauce that had maple notes, had to wipe as much off the pizza as I could. Went here for hh last week and thought it was a very good deal, especially for food. They have 3 pizza choices (bbq chicken,buffalo chicken and margarita) for $10 and 12 chicken wings for $10. Fries were ,I believe 5. All the food we got was very solid. We got half Buffalo and half jerk wings. The jerk wings were awesome. Highly recommend if you like something with a bit of a kick. Honestly was surprised by how good they were. Also thought their fries were great. Reminded me of diner fries I used to get as a kid. We had the bbq pizza as well and it was good. To be honest I haven't had many bbq pizzas and would say this was abput what I've had before . Drinks wise they have 5 dollar drafts and 7 dollar wines. We found the bartender very nice and helpful when making choices for food bf checked on us frequently. I've seen a lot of people leaving low reviews here cause the 20% service charge. I guess I don't find it that odd to have and it was one their website but I didn't see anywhere on the menu. I also do check for this on a bill cause it is not an uncommon thing anymore so not sure it is fair how many complaints are about this from not looking at what is one your bill. All and all, I think it's a decent place and would stop in again for some good hh deals but not sure it would be a place I'd go for full price read more

One of the best places in D.C. for Happy Hour. From 3-6 can't beat $5.00 beer/sletzers, $7.00 rail drinks/ wine and $10 pizzas or wings. Some of the best pizza in DC. They cook their pizza on an oven imported from Italy. Perfect leopard skin under crust, melted cheese for that Instagram worthy cheese pull, and basil that will have you questioning where the garden is they picked it from. Our server MJ she was a lot of fun and really took care of us. Drinks were always flowing and she knew great facts about D.C. overall great experience with one of the best happy hour deals in D.C. They have comedy shows on weekends from 8-10. Stop by if in the area. Place is great for large groups and the bar manager Moe is great. read more

Evening arrival into DC in early Dec, after the trek in from IAD, hotel check-in, etc there weren't too many options for bite and a drink. So we strolled in the cold night to Bulldog - a person at the hotel mentioned it as one of the few open options. The woman behind our end of the bar was more interested in chatting up the guy standing to the side - who later asked if we could spare a few dollars. The sliders were mediocre and the cocktails were basic (the cocktail menu seems to cater to the younger crowd who prefers sweet drinks). I guess it is more of a beer and pizza place - and a bit low rent on a Thursday night after 10 pm. read more

Went here for a comedy show which was an interesting experience! Everyone was friendly and the first drink was offered for free. The bar is located on the first floor, seating is a bit tight there but they have extra seating on the second floor which is convenient. The second level is more private so folks have the choice between a lively or chill experience. I didn't get a chance to try the food but there was a good variety of people in there who had food so my guess is that it's decent! May or may not be back but it's located in a nice quiet part of DC so if you're looking to randomly get out for a night on the town, this could be your spot! read more

I was really searching for a Happy Hour on a Monday afternoon. Google search results says this place opens at 4, but when I walked past and saw it was actually opened around 310p. Happy Hour time also Music was dreadfully loud. I was the only person at the bar at the time. They have HH prices for food too, but that is not mentioned on any menu or billboards. I did get the wings to go ($10) and a pepperoni pizza ($10) and Beer ($5) during happy hour. You'll be mislead, they have a whole list of DRAFT beers on their menu but they only actually have like 5 beers on Draft/tap. A couple who came in like 15 mins after me, got their food way before me. The wings even came out long before my pepperoni pizza did Pizza was fine. I couldn't get the bartender's attention for a fork/knife tho The wings I actually gave to a homeless person so don't know how they were The draft beer is super warm, so ask for a cold glass The service for the bartender was a bit slow. She was giving a story about how her computer crashed & her 1K word essay paper for school was lost and due the next day. Word to all - back up all of your data. then have a back up for that, then another backup for your back up! Gratuity is automatically added. I asked the bartender if gratuity was automatically added and she said "yes, everywhere you go in DC". Honestly, I don't think this to be true. So be cautious when you get your bill to check for gratuity. The receipt does say you can lower the gratuity or give more, she brought out the check with the gratuity already added. If you charge a service fee, it should be posted so customers are aware. I did not see this on the menu or elsewhere. Only learned of the fee after I got home and was trying to figure out the bill to split with friends. We received subpar service, we were told that they were almost out of cups, limes, etc. We were not provided with plates for pizza and only given cocktail napkins. I felt as though being a customer was an inconvenience. read more

This is a bar, not so much a restaurant. We had high hopes for the pizza given the awesome pizza oven but the pizzas were undercooked and the toppings of low quality. The service was slow, mainly due to lack of staff. The folks working were trying to keep up, props to them. The Diet Coke my son got was out of syrup. By the time we got it, we gave up on trying to get a new one. My beer was not very cold. I'd been wanting to try Bulldog Northwest in DC, and overall, I was initially pleased. The pizza and beer were both solid, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the french fries. In fact, I liked them enough to order a second round, this time with truffle fries. Unfortunately, I couldn't taste any truffle at all, which was a letdown. The real issue, though, was discovering when I got home that a 20% service charge had been automatically added to the bill, without the staff telling us. We unknowingly added another 20% tip on top of that. I'm tired of restaurants doing this. It feels dishonest and borderline fraudulent not to disclose all charges up front. Went to Bulldog for a brunch party event that looked like the food, which was buffet-style, was possibly catered by another business. I had the mahi mahi sandwhich which was surprisingly really good (though maybe a little too wet) with a side of fries. Friends tried their blackberry mule and blue dog drinks and enjoyed them. Food and drinks wise everything was pretty good, standard pub food and drinks. They definitely need more staff. The bartenders were nice but took a while to take our orders despite the mostly empty bar and the food took longer than expected for a pub. Overall wouldn't be opposed to coming back, it's a good location and a good place to meet friends before a show or game. read more

This place might be easy to miss amongst all the larger establishments, but if you see it, stop in for a drink. Or pizza. Or wings. Or pasta. Or all of it! The oven in the back bakes their pizzas as you order it, coming out piping hot, crispy, and delicious. The balance of spiciness and sweetness on the Sweet Devil was awesome. An average assortment of beers and a decent selection of liquor cater to nearly everyone. Service tonight was spot on with Andrea, who was able to calmly tolerate some rambunctious patrons as well as some respectful drunks (that's me... I'm a respectful drunk, I hope). She was quick to offer me another drink or refill if water when I ran low, but was attentive to everyone else in the bar as well so nobody got more attention than the next. I'm sure her coworkers are similar and I look forward to being served well by them also. I'll be back while I'm here in DC. The woman who should of had a notepad because she didn't remember anything or knowledge of a beer even though this is a sports bar or something. So the food was ok we were supposed to have winds as appetizers I got garlic parmesan wings (didn't say bone in or boneless) and Rich was supposed to have BBQ his he had to remind them which the other waitress apologized for her mistake. She didn't ask anything or nothing. She took forever with my card which I was she was going to change more which when they add gratuity already without us knowing. So we didn't need to give extra she didn't deserve it. It was terrible I'm sorry I saw a good selection at first and then going there (which I understand why but update on a website). I hold my tongue there too long and this is one place we both agree never again. Side note if you have an anime conversation who are so nice and other things you want people to come back.
