I rarely rate a restaurant in an airport on Yelp, but this deserved a review. The staff are some of the friendliest I've seen in any airport (especially Alisha). The wine list is short but surprising. Try the en route Pinot Noir. I had the duck and it was delicious but dined at the bar with folks eating a smattering of options and all looked delicious! I got the frittata and my boyfriend got the quail sandwich. My frittata was pretty good and I'd order again. His meal was good, but said the jam on there was a bit too sweet for him. I ordered a bloody and it was bad. They gave me some more tomato juice to mix in, but didn't seem to help much. We both agreed it was just off and had an odd after taste. read more

It is good food, *for an airport. It was a $30 breakfast with a drink for one person. It was $15 for a fancy biscuits and gravy. That is excessive even for an airport. There were 4 people working and 6 people in the restaurant. Despite that, they forgot half of my food then brought it out cold so the wait staff obviously forgot it. Over rated. You get three small shrimp if you add it to your salad. The waitress even steered me away from the Big Shrimp Cocktail as the shrimp are small and you only get four. When I got half way through my salad that advertised goat cheese and ended up being a teaspoon of goat cheese I ordered more shrimp, even if it cost more. My wonderful waitress saved the day by giving me a shrimp cocktail for free. Looking around me, the best portion on the menu is the grilled cheese with tomato soup which you can get anywhere. My advice at DFW is eat at the Grand Hyatt before going through security. Or fly through Houston George Bush instead and eat at Cat Cora where a famous chef has gotten airport food right. read more

Always pleasantly surprising to eat in a good restaurant at the airport. We dropped in right at 8am. The service was outstanding! Everyone was friendly and efficient. Food was memorable, I had huevos rancheros and my travelling partner had the omelet. Although I prefer my huevos rancheros to be more spicy, the flavors and presentation were good. I can't stress enough how good the service was, it is nice to have such friendly, happy people after our travel started at 4am. Great choice if you are in terminal D and have 30 minutes to sit down for breakfast. read more

Overpriced for the portion-size. I was looking for a decent sit down place at the airport and decided to try this place. Ordered the beet salad for $14 and added shrimp for an extra $7 thinking I'd get a decent amount of protein with that meal. Salad came out with only 3 shrimp on it for the extra $7! I travel a lot and often have layovers at DFW and this is my go to place. The food is great and the staff is friendly. Its a great place to go and get a bite to eat and hang out till your next flight. With country music, like George Strait, playing in the background, you get the feeling of being in Texas. read more

Stopped in because the lounges upstairs were full and too much resembled waiting rooms at a dentist....so here we are. Ordered a salad with beets and butter lettuce, and some chips. All in all, if it wasn't an airport spot, I would have sent it back. Mushy salad, and dripping chips. This place is very expensive, and in no way better than a fast food joint nearby. I did receive excellent service, truly excellent, but that does not make up for the overpriced and under portioned food they serve. I'm not afraid of high priced food, but this place doesn't fit the calculation between price/quality/portions. 2 stars because the service deserves 5 stars, and the food and drink quality deserve none. read more

Really great food. I had a kale salad and a salmon entree. The salmon was Alaska King salmon, and was NOT overcooked, which is remarkable one you're out of the Pacific Northwest, in my experience. Knowledgeable wait staff and excellent bar. read more

Wife and I went in for some good coffee. Both ordered vanilla cappuccinos. After about 10 minutes they came back and said out of vanilla flavor. Wife picked another and I went plain. My wife didn't like her's. I took one sip and was done. No coffee flavor and a very strange texture to the drink. Terrible aftertaste I can't describe. Paid and left a full drink. I was very disappointed in Whitetail Bistro. I came in at 10am and was seated by the hostess. No one came to take my order or even acknowledge me so after 15 minutes I had to track down the hostess to ask if anyone was assigned to my table. Finally after another 5 minutes, a nice waitress came to take my order. I ordered breakfast and after another 20 minutes, the waitress came back and said the computer was down and the kitchen did not get my order and she couldn't remember what I had. Then since it was after 10:30, the kitchen had switched to lunch and I couldn't get the breakfast I ordered. I then proceeded to put in a lunch order. At 11am I still hadn't received my food, so I gave up and left. This is in an airport... where most people don't have all day to sit around and wait. I ended up going to Cantina Laredo down the hall and had food within 10 minutes of ordering. Save yourselves the trouble and don't even try Whitetail Bistro if you want to eat in a timely manner! read more

I had the worst experience here I've ever had at an airport dining area, period. My family and I decided to stop by for a quick breakfast before boarding began for our 16 hour flight. We asked the lady at the front if they were still serving breakfast- we arrived at 10:25 and they stop serving it at 10:30 (which is bizarre in and of itself as who wants to eat lunch before 11?). The hostess seated us and told us we'd be able to make it if we ordered quickly. It took a waitress TEN MINUTES to get to our table and when she arrived, she said we could no longer order breakfast as the time was up. There was only one other full table with 2 people in the restaurant, so it's unclear why it took her so long to arrive. She honored our breakfast order since the delay was on her part, and we clearly told her our boarding time and what time we needed the food by. She assured us that the food would be out in time and she would even put a rush order on it. A while later, the other table's order arrived, which was odd because we seemed to have ordered at the same time. With 10 minutes left to spare, our food finally arrived. As my father cut his omelette open to begin eating it, he was horrified to find bacon inside after he had CLEARLY specified that we are strict vegetarians. The waitress seemed to have forgotten this and took the dish back into the kitchen to be rectified. 5 minutes later (with 5 minutes until our boarding time), she returns with the EXACT SAME omelette, sans potatoes, claiming that the cook said 'this is what we ordered.' My father ended up boarding our flight hungry and we canceled the order. We factored in ample time to eat a nice meal before being holed up in a plane for 16 hours, and ended up having to rush to the gate anyways. This place is a hot mess and I won't even THINK about eating here again. read more
