I am in the process of finding a place to board my dog. I received a mailer for Whitestone Pets and thought I'd drop in to check the place out. The bald headed guy is rude, sarcastic, condescending and oh, did I say he was rude!? I would not trust my dog in the hands of this place. He seems angry and grouchy. On top of it all, I am only looking to board my dog for 1 night. He gives me the nightly rate but says it's a 2 night minimum!!! WTF? Thanks but no thanks! read more

I have been bringing my dogs there for years thanks to a recommendation by a friend. I cannot say enough about Eddie, Rachel and Grace. They are incredible and caring and I am very particular as most pet owners are about who grooms and cares for my girls. I would recommend them highly and without reservation!! Unfortunately, this past week I had to put my Lexi down. Happened so quickly and was a shock!! Thank you all for always taking such incredible care of her when she came in to be groomed! read more

It was my dog's first time to try Whitestone Doghouse yesterday. I picked this place because he has a yearly check up due at a vet nearby, and my groomer was not available that day. I was so pleased with his new haircut! A completely makeover!! Will definitely recommend this place to friends. read more

I have been looking for a place that can groom my pet for a while. After running around through so many I finally came upon this one. I really enjoyed their service it was fast and efficient. It did not take up too much time nor was it done in a rush. Exactly what I told them I wanted was. exactly what I got, wherever they needed to go short they let me know right away. They also made sure to call me right away when she was finished. It was also a store/grooming place very clean. I will always go back to them and recommend anyone else. read more

After leaving my pet twice here for boarding (not grooming) I can finally determine that I will not be using them again. As other reviews have stated, the owner is very rude which is something that was apparent even on the initial phone call. I've met plenty of "dog people" who are not people friendly so I gave it a shot anyway. The first time was for a couple of days. It went fine enough, my puppy just didn't smell very good when I brought him home and his digestive was messed up for awhile (generally a problem with uncomfortability, not the care taking). I got a call coming off my plane at Exactly 10 am by the owner staying once AGAIN that if whoever picked him up wasn't there at exactly 10 am no one would be there the rest of the day and I'd be charged again. The person picking him up was outside waiting so I didn't appreciate the panic over nothing. I also don't like knowing that my dog is there an entire day with no one there. We left for a week and brought him in again for boarding (not grooming). I noticed on the receipt that I was charged $24 extra for "grooming" so I left it and assumed I'd come back to a clean short nailed dog. Which I did not. He smelled bad once again and even though when I looked toward his nails the owner said he just filed them, they are longer than ever. (Someone has contacted me since stating that it was a clerical error which is understandable). Since writing this review the company has contacted me to attempt amends. I appreciate their reaching out and customer service in this instance and have adjusted my review. I can't say that I'm entirely happy with my experience but I commend anyone who takes responsibility and honors their customers. read more

Whitestone Doghouse is amazing! I brought my Pomeranian puppy for a sanitary cut and she came out like a beauty queen! The owner and staff are very warm and welcoming! They are very knowledgeable about the dogs. This was my pups first experience with any type of grooming and they made me very comfortable and more importantly she was very happy. I highly recommend Whitestone Doghouse for all your pups needs! read more

I was a little nervous leaving my little girl (Patti Mayo) since I've never boarded her before. In addition, I was having trouble finding a place that accepted pit bulls. After speaking with one of the owners, Mike, he told me they love pits, reassured me everything would be okay and that she is in good hands. They have around the clock surveillance, they're constantly checking on the dogs and had someone assigned to taking care of Patti. After picking Patti up (aside from her destroying the bed I left with her due to being nervous which is understandable), she was perfectly okay and very excited to see me. I highly recommend Whitestone Doghouse if/when you need a place to board your pup as well as bring them there for daycare, grooming and training. read more

My dog has been coming here for years and we love this place. My dog usually refuses to walk into the groomers but this place, he walks right in. The owner and groomers are super friendly. My fiance and I went away for the holiday weekend. This is the second time we brought our dog here. As an over protective mommy of my pets I don't just leave him with anyone. This place is great! The owner and his daughter and workers treated my dog amazingly. The owner was awesome when we called just to make sure our boy was ok. Next year when we get married and go away in our honeymoon I'll be using this place for both of my dogs. read more

I've been bringing my dogs to Whitestone Pets for both their grooming and boarding services for years. Eddy is a master with the scissor and clipper and my dogs always look perfect! They are always accommodating with when I need to come in to drop off and pick up my pups. Did I mention the great price? My friends in the city pay over double and it looks like the groomer barely did anything. I don't know what kind of shampoo they use but my pooches smell good for weeks. Eddy and Rachael give me great advice when my dogs have dietary and skin issues that have often worked better than going to the vet. I feel very comfortable boarding my dogs at WP. My main concern is safety. I know the dogs cannot escape onto the street and won't be put together near a big aggressive dog. Sometimes I call when I'm away to get a report :) the location is also pretty good, as it's on my way to LGA and JFK. All in all the price is right, I know my dogs are in good hands and I always like to support a local small family business. Tip for grooming- try to make a weekday appointment if you're in a rush it's less busy. read more

As many dog owners can relate, finding a puppy daycare that will take care of your pet as well as you would is a daunting task especially for a 6 month old puppy! From the first day I dropped off my baby Nico to spend the day at Whitestone Doghouse puppy daycare, I knew he was in good hands! The staff is so friendly and loving to animals that it gave me great comfort to leave him in their care! I felt totally at ease to drop him off! The pets well being is their first priority and I'm so happy with my decision to use their services! Nico may not be able to talk and tell me if he loves it there but his excitement when we pull up to Doghouse needs no words! Mike Chris and the staff, Nico and I thank you read more

Great place and team! Patient, informative, and caring! They take their time caring for your pup, and give great tips. They take pride in what they do. Answered all of my questions, and offer all services: grooming, boarding, day care, and training. Took care of my AD (he gave them a hard time and took breaks with him, but got the cut done). They gave me updates and called me when he was ready. Smelled great and fluffy. Thank you for taking such great care of Oz! Will be back soon. read more

5 stars without question. Between Ed and Rachael, I couldn't be happier with their impeccable service. I've been coming here for nearly 15-20 years and it was the best decision I've made for my pets. Just got a little pooch this past weekend and the previous owner told me she hadn't been washed in some time, on my quest to find the right place to have my new homie scrubbed down I came across a Facebook add for whitestone pets and decided to give it a shot. I called up the location and set up an appointment with them for the basics like a wash and nail clipping and they got me in even though I called last minute which is pretty damn awesome. So finally today arrived and I'm driving to the place and my pup is a little nervous she's not used to car rides I guess and starts chomping on anything that tastes like beef in my car including my fingers (don't judge me I like hamburgers at any time of the day and in case my wife is reading this it was a salad....with a burger on it) by the time I get there I have 9 and a half fingers and 14 holes on my steering wheel from razor sharp teeth chomping all over them, so I'm walking in and I see two ladies staring and smiling at me as I'm one armed carrying my little bully and drenched in rain at first I said to myself yep my lady is lucky to have a good looking guy like me in her life and then I quickly come to the conclusion it's my dog they are looking and smiling at (just kidding honey I knew that all along) and I'm quickly greeted with "that's the puppy getting a wash today!!" Yep she sure is getting a scrub down I said. The ladies take the dog and assure me everything will be ok and cheer Harley up after that crazy ride with me, I get a whole break down and educated on what they will be doing to her today and what they will be cleaning her up with just so I know what's going on because I told them it was my first time going to a dog groomer. I was quickly informed that she is in good hands and I will get a call as soon as they are done, so I went to my car and waited patiently for the call, she was all done in a very timely manner which is great because I was about to get buck wild on Amazon and melt my debit card. When I walked back in I see Harley shining with a little bow around her neck calm as hell to the point where I thought she was sleeping, and she smelled great especially after that first weekend and best of all a little care package with some doggy treats for the ride back home To help her with the nervousness (trust me she loved the treats and I don't have more holes in my steering wheel). Honestly I really like the place I was treated very Kindly and the prices are very good and after service like that I really have no complaints and neither does Harley and that's what counts so long story short I think I will be going back whenever she needs to get washed or groomed it was a great experience and I hope you have one too if you do decide to check them out! read more

See all

They alway did a great job on all of my dogs. I am only sorry that I moved away that I don't go there that often anymore.

My family started bringing our new kitten in every few weeks for a quick nail clip. Every time we walked into the establishment it was dirty, dingy, and poorly managed. The owner is constantly bad-mouthing his own clients while other customers wait to be assisted, and is swearing at his assistants and at the animals. When I called on the phone to make a drop-in appointment I was always given a very specific window of time which I held to. Often I was left waiting for 20-30 minutes because the owner had neglected to groom an animal that was already supposed to be ready to go. The last time I brought my cat in I waited 25 minutes to be served, listening to him swearing about his clientele the whole time. When my cat was brought in I saw him turn the carrier upside down and dump her on to the table. Then he comes to ask me if she bites. Well, she may do that if she's being mistreated. A few minutes later she was handed back to me in the crate with no word whatsoever and I left. I returned home to find my cat SOAKING wet and smelling of dog shampoo. He had clearly laid her on a table where he had just groomed a sick dog with a skin condition, and my cat was now nervous, shaking, and had soap suds on her. To give her back to me in this condition and have the gall to not say anything was some of the most unprofessional behavior I have ever witnessed. I spent a significant amount of time afterward trying to clean my cat and calm her down, hoping that she would not get sick from licking and of the soap that remained on her. If you care about the treatment of your animals, you will avoid this establishment at all costs. The owner clearly takes no pride in his work or his place of business. Everything is old, dirty, and the staff are consistently rude to customers and animals alike. If I had known that this was where my cat was being taken, I would have stopped my family from using this service along time ago. We now use Happy Pet Tails on Bell Blvd. and are much more satisfied. read more

I can't say enough good things about Whitestone Dog House! The whole staff, especially Cris and Mike, seriously love dogs! My 1 year old shihpoo loves getting groomed there. What other groomer talks baby talk to your dog and showers them literally AND with love?! I just give them a general idea of how I want his cut and it's legit been perfect every time. I drop him off and I know he's in safe and caring hands! Clean place, bright and fun, and calming. I will never ever take my dog anywhere else, that's a 1000000% guarantee! LOVE YOU GUYS! read more

Very impressed! The owner and staff were very friendly! Kennels were clean...if you pay an extra $7 a day they will take your dog to their outdoor area and play with them for 15 minutes. I've brought my Shih Tzu, Jaycee, here a couple of times now and I'm super happy with their work. She had so many knots and instead of doing what Petco or PetSmart had done in the past and shaved her, they actually took the time to comb her out and give her a great cut. She looked so pretty. And I definitely can't complain about their prices either. I can't imagine ever taking her anywhere else. Thank you!!!!! read more
